Well it's a Currys, and not a particularly amazing one. Staff are as helpful as the price of what your looking at and as a store it is useful for two things. Looking at something before you buy it cheaper on Amazon *or* if you need an electrical item right now and can't wait for delivery. They have a lot of items to look at but all very much mid-range. Prices are fairly average but it mostly depends on what you are looking for. This store in particular seems to have gone downhill since the neighbouring John Lewis left. Without direct competition it has lacked motivation to offer a good customer experience. Staff are varied, mainly they know the basic headlines but don't have detailed knowledge. The sort that will try and sell a speaker based on volume or a TV based on how 'smart' it is, or say that I need more RAM in my computer. Not all that approachable either, often gaggled together. We saw three staff members dealing with one customer, with other customers waiting to enquire. I've also found them a bit pushy on adding all the bells and whistles, would be happy selling someone what they don't need. If you need advice about buying something unfamiliar to you bring someone knowledgeable in that area with you. White goods - basically every major supplier, prices mediocre to poor but a lot of items on display to look through and browse. Small kitchen appliances - a good place to look for basics like kettles or blenders. Serious cooks and bakers look elsewhere. TVs - Most major brands catered for but once you take into account warranty and delivery you may want to check other suppliers. John Lewis generally work out about the same for the larger TVs. Audio - they have some loud stuff but nothing with much audio quality. I'm sure they'll be happy to sell you a gold cable though . Computers - if you need a basic office computer right now they have some. If you want a *good* computer or one that fits any personalized needs don't bother. Cameras - Very overpriced basic models. Nothing for the hobbyist or pro and anyone else probably has a half decent one on their phone. Quite uninspiring really as there are some really good cameras on the market for the 'new' hobbyist and photographers just not here!

We visited on a week day, and really did not think much of the service provided. The first two 'experts' I approached really did not want to help. First one told me to go ask another person, and the second man really couldn't be bothered. Asked him to explain stuff without too much jargon as not tech-savie, and he looked at me like I was stupid! I then asked him specific information about the product I was after, and he just looked the stuff up online and recited what was there. When I questioned his knowledge around the products he then said it wasn't his 'thing'! I then asked if he couldn't help who could, and he just shrugged his shoulders.... Honestly a huge waste of my time!! I asked the next person, who again told me he couldn't help, but did at least tell me who could help. But he was busy with another client, and we had to wait another 40 minutes until he was free (I do not have a problem with him taking his time with his client, but it does seem silly that there was only 1 expert on duty!) And then there was limited stock, so I couldn't actually get the product I wanted!! A very frustrating, and annoying visit to the store!

I’ve given this shop so many chances, but this time enough is enough. Going into a shop requesting help (after 15 mins of walking around with staff walking past you), only to be passed on to someone else is beyond annoying. It’s obvious customer service is not on the priority list for staff here, so no wonder this company has been affected in recent years. Just to be clear, this is not staff selling on behalf of a particular brand either, no, this is regular staff. On their phones or having conversations and totally ignoring customers that want to make a purchases. Good luck to you with this approach, I’m off to one of your many competitors for a better all around experience and I’m sure they will gladly take my custom. On their website if you copy the model of a product it immediately does a price comparison. But what’s the point? It’s not cheaper than elsewhere (from my experience) nor a better experience, so what’s the point? This is from someone genuinely wanting to shop locally.

Virral and Danielle were good in choosing my integrated Grundig intergrated fridge freezer. However, it was the incorrect fit. I needed a 60/40 split, and Currys sent a 70/30 split. The engineers and I agree that Currys must offer the correct split. otherwise, it is a time wasting effort. In the future, please diligently offer the correct split. After a lot of trips to and fro Currys, I have now ordered a Bosch intergrated fridge freezer. I hope it will be right. Currys need to send engineers beforehand to offer the correct fit and size measurements. Just a quick review update. The Bosch Frost free integrated fridge is awful. The front integrated door does not close and seal well. The inside of the fridge is full of Frost and ice with water build up. Bosch manufacturers very uncooperative. No good customer service at Currys. You're continously fobbed off. Currys and Bosch must follow the Consumer Relations Act. I really hope they follow the 30 day refund policy.

Purchased a new MacBook from them in December. In May it broke with the keyboard, tracker pad and screen flickering/not working. Apple guy in store said likely a hardware fault as external mouse and keyboard worked but screen wouldn't stay on. Sent it off under warranty only to get a phone call saying it's water damage and will cost £500 to fix. No water had been spilled on the laptop or spilled anywhere near it. Requested they send the laptop back un-repaired, this took over three months to get back. Took it to a local apple repair shop who confirmed faulty motherboard/hardware and replaced the whole lot under warranty. Also confirmed no sign of water damage and the Currys repair people hadn't even opened the section of the laptop where the fault was. Never purchasing anything from Currys or using their repair service again.

The good: All the staff are kind and do their best to be helpful. The desktops are decent and there are a really good selection of well priced home appliances, air fryers and hair stuff. Now the bad: Not a good selection of laptops. Only slow ones that can't do much apart from Internet shopping and Microsoft Office. The console showcases don't work. The controllers aren't wired up. The headphones suck apart from the Dyson ones. For those looking for a budget TV look somewhere else. The repair service for laptops is also way too expensive for it's worth. Having lived and breathed computer repair for years, I'm qualified to know. I'd also like to bring their choice into question when it comes to third party repair shops and the use of secondhand hardrives. The one I had put in my laptop failed after only two years.

Worst ever experience in store. So many staff no one ready to move but being busy on personal phone. Everyone telling go to other person and you ending running all around. I went to one guys but I forgot to ask his name :- I went to buy Smart Bulb today and Guy refused straight away without moving his place saying we don't sell bulbs in store and he never sold one and Aiel was just 5 steps away which was really rude and unexceptable. Had to finally ask for Staore manager reported him but he disappeared from his place “at least he moved” Got help from Store manager finally - If he had to step in like this why do Pc curry need so many useless staff on floor. Never going to this store again.

Loud rap music and staff who doesn't know what they are selling. So I showed photo on my phone to the lad in the shop, telling him I'm after this item. He told me they don't sell them here. What is funny as I showed him photo from their own website, and it says it's in stock. After clearing it out we went to the phone cables section where for like five times he tried to convice me that I am not looking for usb mini but micro. Thanks god he know betters what I want to buy. So after few minutes he gave up and told me to try find it myself, lol. Which I did, in the different section of the shop - with transfer cables.

If I could I would give zero stars this is the most useless retail franchise in the whole world do not buy any appliances from them they will either be damaged, they won’t be willing to replace them quickly and effectively and they won’t even install them for you even when you paid an installation fee I brought a washing machine paid for installation yet I had to fit it myself I tried buying a gas stove from them with installation fee for them to install it 3 times they came and refused to install it and made random excuses why they can’t do it. Waste of time and effort trying to work with these people

Despite all the negative reviews, I decided to visit the store on 25 November 2023. I entered the store and headed to the Apple section, after browsing for about 2 minutes, one of the employees came over and asked if I needed any assistance. I explained what I was looking for, and the young lady checked if the device I wanted to buy was in stock. Since it was available, she took me to the till, took my payment, and brought me the laptop in a matter of minutes. She was polite and attentive, I was in an out under 10 minutes, I feel that I was very well looked after.

I went into the shop Curry's yesterday, with an intention to buy the IPhone 12 which was not in display but advertised next to IPhone 15. When I asked to see it, as i never had an I phone before, but only Samsung, they refused to show it to me, and the reason why was not given to me, they just said they cannot. So I told them that was a crazy thing to do, so I had to walk away without buying the phone. They probably didn't care they lost a customer. What an awful customer service. I will never enter that unhelpful store again in future. was only

Dishwasher arrived damaged, metal bent in the main cavity. I've been trying to contact Currys by phone & email for almost 2 months now which is hopeless. No reply to emails, constantly getting cut off the phone. Due to Co-vid I can't pay them a visit. Not much better in store either. Long waiting times for service so bring a book to read! Stock cannot be found when it shows "In Stock" Love to Shop vouchers don't work on their tills. I can't blame the staff, most of them are friendly, they don't seem to have support from their management.

  • Catherine Walker

I went into Curry's to buy a handheld garment steamer for my granddaughter and a printer for myself. I was given help to purchase the steamer as I had to buy online. I was helped by a very nice woman called Beverly, who logged in on her store tablet and allowed me to make my purchase. Th young man who helped me with the printer was also as helpful as Beverly and helped me to make my in store purchase and also carried the printer and free ream of paper to my car (as unable to carry it while using my walking stick) and put in my boot.

  • Shinysavagegamer

I went in to buy a new TV and as I was looking through thier selection one caught my eye and when I asked an employee about it he directed me to an extremely expensive one and said that was the best one ever which was a blatant lie in order to get me to spend more money but later I asked an employee ‘Durshit’ who was very helpful and found a good tv for my budget. Also the employee from before was on his phone watching some sort of show most of the time and was not very helpful. Please give Durshit a well done.

Ordered a washing machine in February. Since day one it has been leaking and destroying our kitchen wood floor. Two engineers called out and said nothing was wrong. We were easily able to find damage. Why is there a no quibble return policy for a certain amount of time. A THIRD engineer is coming to see if there is something wrong... We have insurance and barely owned this machine. It shouldn't take this long to refund an item. NEVER USING THIS COMPANY AGAIN!

  • Jenny Tsang

When you go upstairs of the store in Croydon, the staff are all grouped together drinking takeaway teas/coffees and chatting in the middle of the floor. When you ask questions about a product (dishwashers in my case), the staff who helped me had very little knowledge and referred me to look at the details online. There are probably no managers upstairs, because the atmosphere is very different downstairs. Staff were very professional and helpful downstairs.

  • ghulam abbas

Every time I go to buy something, there is no one on the tills. People are always waiting and no one shows up. When some shows up, the person is so slow that it take ages to pay for your goods. Once I went to return something I had to wait for hours, as one person was serving with a long queue. The slowest person on earth is doing the returns. I had to walk away and come back another day and it was the same again. Please get more staff or train them well.

  • Jai

If you want to be stood around waiting for 1.5hrs+ then this is the place to go! Staff are useless, rude and incompetent. I think every single member of staff working walked past me at least 3 times and didn’t even acknowledge my existence and the fact that I was very clearly waiting for assistance. On top of that falsely advertised prices, but too lazy to actually fix the tickets to avoid this happening. Don’t bother, go to Argos or Amazon instead.

  • Tracy Dickie

Staff were chatting together on the shop floor and when asking a member of staff if they were busy they replied yes, then started to walk away. Asked if they could find someone who wasn't so we could find help to buy a computer, however no one came over. Eventually found a member of staff however all four computers we were interested in were not in stock and one of the display computers was discontinued and no longer available to purchase.

  • John G

The staff at this store are unapproachable and seem to lack knowledge about phones and computers. Instead of assisting, they often appear distracted, engaged in personal conversations or on their own phones. It's challenging to find assistance, especially near the laptop displays. When approached, their responses often come across as dismissive and sarcastic. The customer service is highly lacking. I'd recommend considering other stores.

  • tastycakey

Waiting forever to be served , staff all huddled around talking to themselves , I could t have given anymore “buying signals” When I did eventually get seen to they told me item I wanted wasn’t in stock and I should order online and then they walked away- no offer to help me find an alternative. This happened with 3 separate members of staff , ended up going across the road to Argos and getting the tv straight away

  • Yvonne

I have never seen such miserable staff in my entire life, absolutely unacceptable It was a dizmal experience and couldn't wait to get out of there, management need to look into this, its madness if your running a business you need staff that keep customers happy not feeling like they're something on the end of your shoe, not one smile from any of them, unbelievable one star only because we hot a number we needed.

  • Moh Ajmal

What a way to do the Croydon name proud. Be prepared to spend a good 30-40mins waiting around. Not that there is shortage of staff, plenty of heads sitting around on their phones, allocated to areas with no customers. Either way, I came in 30mins ago to return one unused game and waiting in queue, hopefully I’ll be able to see someone before the store closes. Don’t come here unless you have to.

  • Ersina Shaqiri

Bad experience at currys purly way , Zero customer service , manager was rude and not helpful at all , zero customer service on resolving the problem for him it ok to blame the customer , when they lost tv standing (legs) from repair . been waitting 5 weeks and no one takes responsibility. His solution was buy new standing legs and i can give discount. Still customer to pay for their fault.

  • Nikolai Hristov

Terrible experience with faulty Pixel 7. I have been going back and forth for months. On the phone I was promised refund, as per consumers law and when going to the store no one heard about such process even though the comment was added on my account by the support person. Google can't do anything because I didn't buy the device from them. I learned my lesson NEVER buy from resellers !

  • Daryl Gardner

Very quick to sell you products. Lots of staff on sales floor. Not so quick to repair sub standard PC that you have sold. Only one member of staff and a massive queue. Will never buy a PC from Curry’s again. Shocking that no service and I’ve only had this PC for 5 months. Curry’s online useless and couldn’t get it to work either, in between patronising me for being a woman.

  • Patrick Patey

PRICE MATCH IS A SCAM. Went to buy a TV and quickly googled to see if I found a cheaper TV. Found one at Reliant and asked to get it for the same price and the manager refused. What a scam. Gave an extra start because the seller Happy was very nice and helpful. The manager should get sacked. Did not bother to argue as I was just happy I just saved £350 on the TV I wanted.

  • catrine12

We were at Currys Trojan Way Croydon on Bank Holiday Monday. We wanted to buy a new washing machine, but we needed some advice. We were served by IYAS. She was very kind and helpful, she showed us many washing machines. We could choose one of them and now we are waiting for the delivery. Thank for the excellent service and we hope the washing machine will work properly.

  • Tom McCallum (WhatComesNext.Live)

I often research and buy online, but today went in to this store to view TVs before buying. I was pretty set already on what I wanted, but then met Happy (Harpreet Singh) and he expertly listened to what I wanted and guided me to a better TV at a better price, then handled everything up to carrying the TV out and loading into my car. Happy made me happy. 11 out of 10 !

  • Anna Hills

Easily found a parking bay in car park. Had to hunt a salesman down as they were quite busy. However the salesman once to hand was very helpful and answered all questions when trying to buy a new TV. Lots of choice of TVs on display and other computer and electronic equipment. Happy with my purchase 58 inch Samsung tv which was delivered on my requested delivery date.

  • Nova S

Absolutely terrible experience, how is it possible for me to be waiting 30 minutes to make a return when there's only one person Infront of me. And then another worker just showed up and started talking slowing down the progress even more. I genuinely believe they just want to make your experience as terrible as possible so you never think of returning an item again

  • Shariar Vicky

An absolutely rubbish shop. Customer service is incredibly poor. Queuing for more than 15 mins just to get a TV recycled. One guy on the collections desk literally on his phone while people are queuing. There are instances of this around the store where people standing around and customers are waiting to be served. In this busy period this is a really shocking.

  • Josh Martin

Awful customer service. Staff either on their phones or chatting. Asked multiple people for help but was ignored after they made eye contact with me. After being told certain items weren’t in stock they would just walk off. Probably the rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced and staff lack any basic knowledge on the products

  • Peter Brown

Shopping late just prior to closing time, we parked outside the main entrance and were quickly directed to the microwave section. After making our choice, a staff member came to us and offered to help find our chosen colour. They also organised help to carry the device to the checkout and then to the car. All very quick and easy.

  • Indra Patel

The staff helping have poor knowledge of the product and its operations. They just bluff as they go along not realising in the days of social media customers do homework before they visit the store. I had to ring the manufacturer's customer helpline for further clarifications about the product and its operations.

  • Meran Garebi

I visited this store today for an American style fridge freezer, and I must say I’m impressed with the customer service I received today by Faraz he helped choose the right product and arranged a delivery. All in all a hassle free shopping experience, would definitely be coming back again …

  • Hamid Mayeli

I went there to compare two series of Apple watch and Microsoft surface vs ipad. But unfortunately the stand was broken so the watches had ran out of battery. Overall, it was a nice place to walk in if you are interested in electrical products. Also, the stuffs were friendly and offering help and advice.

  • NEUZA FRANCCC

Currys delivered the wrong tv to my house for someone called mr Robert’s and refused to collect it ! Untill today I am waiting for someone to collect it no one is able to help and I was told to go to mr Robert house to let him know … SHAME it’s been three months since I’ve been trying to get this sorted

  • Coco Rio

Delivery men Left my disabled mum with two non working washing machines in the middle of the room. Didn't install the washing machine which my mother paid for. Literally left us in a mess. Ringing customer services took us hours to get someone to actually talk too and to understand. Awful experience..

  • Ris AR

As usual, it is very difficult to get help, especially with computers, laptops, gaming etc. Best to come early. The staff are patient and give you the time that you need, but sometimes that time can go on for long and it is frustrating for customers who are waiting. I think a new system is needed.

  • Kerry Price

Stock was great. Staff however were rubbish. Few wore masks. Those that did only covered their mouths apart from a couple. One staff member without a mask came within a couple of feet three times! NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY WITH THIS KIND OF SELFISHNESS AND STUPITY! WONT BE RUSHING BACK!

  • Gnans

Good parking space. Covid entry procedures. Ample of electronics in store. Staff are trying to be helpful but could do more. Went in to pick up soundbar which they did not have stock despite website said this store did. Picked up another small item but tills took ages to move queue.

  • Danny Holder

Staff in store great. Online experience absolutely awful! Genuinely thought i'd been scammed at one point (maybe i have, still waiting for a refund for the first go at ordering a PC monitor). AVOID!!!! DO NOT ORDER ONLINE!!! ...Unless you enjoy being messed around horrendously.

  • Joseph Dennis

Not the best customer service, and I’ve worked in hospitality for a few years and that’s probably the most essential part of the role. They need to be more efficient in helping customers, people have stuff to do, work to go to, and things to get done! This needs to change asap

  • The Sheikh

Helpful staff who kindly let me charge my mobile for 45 mins as it ran out of juice as I had to collect a specific item which only this branch had in stock. Only negative is that Curry’s don’t have inter-branch item transfers which cost me a 5 hr round trip from home.

  • Dorothea

Curry's electrical store has a good variety of almost everything electrical for your home over two floors. Reasonable priced depending on what your price range is. What I did find on this visit there seem to be low on stock as quite a few shelves were empty.

  • Aua E

Went to buy a hoover and at the till I was told that the price I read was for the display model and I had to pay £80 more for a new one. It doesn't say anywhere that the price displayed (image) is for the battered display hoover. Didn't buy of course

  • Zumar Ahmed

If you’re looking for TVs, Laptops and kitchen gears, it’s great. There’s fridges, washing machines, dishwashers and vacuum cleaners upstairs. I actually went to get a camcorder for a birthday present…until I realised I was 15 years too late… :-)

  • Chantelle Dann

Ryan at curry’s Croydon is amazing he went above and beyond to help us find an item we had been searching for, he provided excellent customer service and I would recommend him for all gaming needs. Really pleased with our purchase thanks Ryan.

  • Ryan Salisbury

Absolutely disgusting customer service. I was stood waiting to buy a product for 30 minutes, and all colleagues walked past me and avoided eye contact or responses to me asking for assistance. The one blonde sales associate who asked if we

Staff are really unfriendly and not at all helpful. Looked for a hoover and they guy was so moody, I knew more about the products than he did. Before we decided which one we wanted he took a product over the till and was staring at us to

  • D C

Long wait times and very poor customer service. The staff member who served me today was condescending and rude. Avoid! I went to the Sydenham branch later and had a much better experience, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this one.

  • Caroline Russell

Utterly appalling service. Lied to, scammed into buying cover, 11 days for a “replacement or repair” sent back “unrepaired with “explanatory note” no note given, no reimbursement, no compensation, no help, web chat just as useless.

  • Klaudia Kokot

Th staff here are extremely helpful and friendly. They are for sure people on the right position, thy know what they are talking about. Professional, quick service. And prices... Lower than expected. Definitely recommended place.

  • Utsav Patel

I ordered click and collect then I go there they say it’s not available you come after 3days and after I go today they same it’s not available. Very poor customer service. I like curry’s but not like customer service. Thank you

  • Marian Cobuz

We went to buy an integrated oven from here, thought will just pay and take it home. They wouldn’t have any stock apart from the display ones and maybe the expensive stuff, bought online much cheaper and better looking.

You cannot contact customer service by phone. Currys alter their warrantees to suit themselves The person serving when I called into the store was polite but never got back to me with the answer to my problem.

First gripe, only opens at 10!!! Opened and one walkway was covered in a vacuum cleaner - just discarded, how dangerous and tardy! That said, I got some useful assistance from a staff member about a product.

  • Darren Greene

Went to look for a laptop. There was a decent selection. Was in the store for about 20 minutes and was not approached once to see if I needed assistance. Not impressed.

  • Matthew McKay

It was quite a long wait for the repairs however I do think they're very efficient with their service. Used them before when my laptop was smashed and now with my PS5
