Terrible attitudes and faked price offered well undercutting their websites value for buying in items. Travelled to the centre with the specific goal of trading in 2 mics SM7B (£203) and Rhode Podcaster (£32). Girl behind the counter made it clear that serving anyone was a major chore. Part way through looking at the items she suddenly asked, "Why are you selling these?". This threw me off a little as I didn't realise I was required to justify exchanging an item in Cash Exchange... I guess my surprised response came off as unacceptable to her so ended up offering me a max of £101 for both items. Even if I only sold the SM7B at the lowest grade, that's £150 alone. Luckily I had double checked the prices before going in or they'd have tried ripping me off on the price even more than they usually do. It's also worth noting that both items including the boxes are in near new condition. I wouldn't recommend using the store, but if you're looking to trade in, it seems important you take your original receipts at risk of otherwise being accused of stealing the items and being given ridiculous quotes which I can only assume was made up on the spot. At the time of writing this, the price is still shown to be much higher on your website. And to the girl behind the counter, in case you're still wondering why I was selling them. I do a lot of online teaching, mentoring and content creation. I've had both mics slightly longer than would be possible to return them and settled on a 3rd mic I've purchased, legally.

Worst customer service in the world and worst managed store i have ever seen in my life. Today i have booked online ,to sell my playstation 5, went there thinking maybe i will get served in under 30 minutes, because there wasn't a big queue. Oh how wrong i was ,there only one queue for selling and 4 for buying stuff (makes sense in retail,you want to sell more ,but not here...) In front of me was someone selling dvd s for 1p ,170 of them ,that needed checked. I have waited in line for 40 minutes and i have asked the staff that were just sitting there doing nothing if they can help me at the sell tills. They ve acted like it s the end of the world and i ve backed down. After another 5 minutes someone comes in ,goes to the empty till that was supposed just to sell ,he pulls out 5 dvds and the guy just says alright i will do it for you! I just couldn't believe it ,that s when i got mad shouted at them and they didn't even care ,they ve carried on like nothing wrong was happening... They ve seen me getting mad and leaving the queue after almost 1 hour and they didn t care at all... Never in my life will i ever set foot in these disgusting stores... Horrible staff , horrible service !!!! You deserve to go out of business,keep buying dvd s for 1p ,you deserve it!

I went to go and sell a PlayStation 5 and after waiting a very long time an inexperienced member of staff dealt with me, processed the item and made me an offer of £436 and advised that funds would be transferred into my account. I get a call the next day from someone else who didn’t handle the call well at all and presumptuously told me that before he tested the item I should know that they would only pay me £91 for it because I was mis quoted. I went back to collect the item a few days later, no apology or even attempt to mitigate the inconvenience caused. I wasted a good 2 hours trying to sell to this store. I think its utterly ridiculous that a junior member of staff who clearly hasn’t had enough training can be left to buy in stock without the knowledge and oversight of a more experienced member of staff. The subsequent handling of the mistake was also very poor. If the store had good management then the mistake wouldn’t have happened in the first place and if a reasonable attempt had been made to apologise to me in a sincere way and an acknowledgement of the inconvenience that it might have caused me, I wouldn’t bother writing such a negative review. All I can say is you got absolutely everything wrong with the way you treated me as a customer.

Absolutely disgusting. Brought I barely used headphones. Originally they looked at it and said they're mint. 15 mins later they said no, took over 20 off the price because of a scratch. Said okay I'll take it if you can show me where the scratch is and I'll take it. The assessors refused to come and say why So showed us the scratch and my mum had a look, wiped it and it wasn't a scratch it was dust!!!! They went back and came out a bit later with another appetent scratch that wasn't there earlier. They are rude and scamming people out of their livelihoods. And disgusting customer service from apparent cex testers. I bet if I wasn't a disabled person with a servicedog they wouldn't have treated me like that, they see easy targets and con them! Disgusting. Don't worry I told the people in the queue what happened and they left!!! Disgusting Cex you response was far from okay! I asked to speak with the person grading the item they refused. The person pointed at a "scratch" saying that's the only reason why it wasn't an A! My mum took a look, and gave it a little blow and it was dust!!! Shameful disgusting . It had been literally sat in a draw in the box!

I've been to a few CEXs and they're all pretty depressing. The last time a I went, there was a staff shortage and a man was shouting at them because he couldn't sell his PlayStation 2 controller. Also a scruffy looking father kept telling his child to shut up whenever he would speak, whilst spending £600 on an Xbox Series X. I think, if you are walking past and you want a particular video game, then this is a place you might want to go to. But it's a grim prospect. I was there during a less busy time and the staff member who was helping me was very kind mannered. Potentially it's less the shop I don't like and more some of the customers that make me feel depressed and unsafe.

Essentially, the condition assessors at this CeX are not competent. Went to sell a perfect condition 2 month old phone here with the box and all contents, not a mark on a thing, to be told that the phone is condition B. When asked for their reasoning it was because there was no charging brick. No phone in the last 5 years has a brick in the box, all content that I received when new was presented. Their only justification to downgrade is not valid. I do not expect to get the best price at CeX, but I do expect a fair evaluation of products. This is either incompetent and unqualified staff, or malicious intent by this branch. The phone was not sold to them.

Staff very rude. Went to the kiosk with a handful of games to purchase, enquired wether they would accept a cheaper price for one as the case was comply trashed and water damaged. Was met with an extremely sarky response from the young man on the till spouting "no that's just the way it is, I'd get fired and I like my job. An unfortunate series of events..." I still purchased the game as its one I've been looking for. it wasn't an expensive purchase but I still didn't get a thank you or anything. Was also very rude to the next customer. I myself work in retail, I'd never dream of adressing a customer as such. Very poor CEX.

Bloody awful, went in to replace or refund a faulty hard drive I was sold. Was told that disc would need to be tested and wiped (completely understandable, only added for completeness) and was told this would take 5 mins. 15 minutes later I approached the manager who stated "yeah I said it would be 5 minutes, you'll have to queue up again" despite the fact I had been wait by a till. After a further 5 or so minutes in the original till line I was then told by another member of staff that this was the wrong queue and I would have to stand in the sell here queue. 10 minutes later again and I'm still here.

Never in my life have I had such a long queueing experience for such an unnecessary reason. They had 5 employees behind the counter, yet only 2 working the buying queue. The biggest issue was how slow one of their staff members was. It took her 6 minutes and 30 seconds to get 2 discs for some Xbox 360 games. I get that she maybe could be new, but their filing system is really simple, and she also spent a minute talking to one of her colleagues for seemingly no reason during that transaction. Overall some absolutely abysmal service, that should not be happening during the midweek in the early afternoon.

This is where I got my lovely second hand Nexus 5 a year ago at a great price which I adore and I'm still using. Also had to return something I bought the other day as an unwanted gift, and they gave me store credit. Never any fuss. The presentation is a bit lazy - for example DVDs and CDs are in alphabetical order rather than by genre , and there are no stands for flagship titles so you have to wade through a lot of crap to find the good stuff. Expect to wait a while in the queue, and make sure you are in the right one - there are separate queues for buying and selling that are not clearly marked.

disgusting place. very unfriendly staff, if you want to sell something, look for another place, then they will rip you off to the bone and give you the lowest price for your good product. I sold a video card of which it was not even 2 weeks old. 114 new ones came yesterday they said that they would check her until today 12-00 and if she will give a worker only 45 pounds. I arrived at 13:00 the check was not ready. I was indignant because I counted on this money. they gave me 36 pounds without checking it. here is such a service. I do not advise you guys to go there

Despite putting together a "Drop & Go" order together beforehand, which supposedly speeds up the service, I was still in the shop for an hour, most of which was spent in the queue (I was 4th/5th in line when I joined the Sell queue). You'll be seen pretty much instantly if you're buying. Wouldn't mind if this was a one-off but this has happened several times now. Bad service but there aren't really any other high-street options so make sure you set aside the whole afternoon if you have anything to sell. Maybe bring the family and make a day of it in Broadmead.

Awful customer service. Waiting in the queue for 25 minutes to buy 2 DS games. The staff were messing about while getting the disks giving each other high 5s and not caring about the ever growing queue. Some people gave up waiting and put their items back and left and if the DS games weren't for my 6 year old then we would have done the same. To top it off we got the the till to wait an extra 5 minutes to be told one of the games couldn't be found out the back and we couldn't have it. Shoddy customer service, shoddy organisation and won't be going there again.

Abysmal wait time and not much better service! AVOID THIS PLACE AND GO LITERALLY ANYWHERE ELSE! After waiting in a queue 40 minutes just to get a refund on a faulty item, I then had to wait another 15 for them to check the item. All fair enough you might say, up until the point I returned to collect my refund and was told I had to queue AGAIN just to speak to one of the only two members of staff on tills whilst another four milled around in the background. All told, that’s over an hour and 15 minutes to get a refund for a faulty item sold to me in this store!

Came in to an empty shop to sell my daughters old, basic latop (good thing it was a laptop, as I was immediately asked if I was going to sell a console). The staff members were efficient and more friendly than expected. The process took a while and I got way more than expected for the laptop. The last time I sold an electrical item they tested it then and there meaning an hour of meandering aimlessly round town. Now, as they couldn't test it there and then, they automatically pay into your bank account - providing it passes obviously.

Store was well stocked and a great variety of entertainment products to spend your money on. Staff were very friendly and helpful (which noting they were short staffed due to illnesses) which was really nice to see. Only gripe is that there are always more staff prioritised to buying items from the public than selling, so when popping to grab something it's never been a quick experience. Also their 2 year warranty is worth mentioning if you are looking to buy a more expensive electrical item. Haven't found that anywhere else yet.

This is the place to go if you want the following: - to wait in a long queue to either buy or sell something - to wait ages for the games to actually be found - watch staff faff around behind the till chatting and doing anything but serve customers - this includes counting the till money up while pepping over at the queue occasionally. - want to be served by a rude member of staff - and finally, to stand in a shop that actually just stinks of smoke as they have the door wide open with smokers outside.

Pisspoor customer service. There was at least 6 customers in line (myself included) about 8-9 staff behind the counter, yet only 1 person was being helped while the rest of them employees just stood around talking with one another. I waited in line for at least 10 minutes before deciding I wasn’t waiting any longer. Kept making eye contact with them yet no one tried to assist the customers nor explained why the hell they weren’t able to assist. Just chatted amongst themselves.

The managers need to employ more workers here, there currently way understaffed, leading to long queue times and lower customer service as the staff don't have the time to fully help people. Today there were only 4 people in the queue but it took over 15 minutes to pass. The employees that Do work there are very good though, just need more of them. Everything else is basically the same as any other large city center cex, alright selection, cheap games and a slightly off smell.

Bizarre experience. With a line of 10 customers, 1 person was serving. Probably the slowest man on earth. When I suggested more staff should be serving a man with a ginger beard said "Don't come ere den". If you had any intelligence as you seemed to suggest why are you walking round with empty PS4 cases in CeX. Also when a till was opened the attendant spent half the time preening his hair no doubt in reference to mine. Sonny your 21 I'm 63!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have bought and sold items in this store for many years now. The customer service is nice and there are lots of products on offer. The only downside I have is once I was selling an item and it looked perfect, it had everything it originally had including the box, but because of a very small and unnoticeable mark, it was classed lower. Though, payments are usually made the next day by bank which is good. Cash/gift vouchers are also an option.

Happy with the price that I was eventually offered for my mobile. As indeed I was with the attitude of the staff once I got to the front of the queue. But 40 minutes in a queue when there were unstaffed tills? They could learn from TK Max & Tesco to divert staff to tills when busy and stock shelves and other back of shop stuff when quiet. Or perhaps pick up a queuing ticket so that you can at least browse stock whilst waiting for your call?

Not even worth the 1 star, all staff here are slow with no sense of customer service, even on a quiet weekday are slow and don't acknowledge you whe you're waiting. No sense of management in this place, your products are the only thing running the place, not the staff. The buying queue was all the way to the end of the store and staff only seemed to focus only on the sell queue so they didn't have to serve anyone for a good 25 min.

DO NOT BUY A PHONE HERE THEY DON'T WORK!! I bought a phone before Christmas and it worked fine for a day and then important features like CALLS stopped working and the sound stopped working also so i took it back and the people that work there were very helpful in replacing it with a new one and the replacement iphone doesn't work either as it glitches and i can see it slowly dying on me after only having it for three months.

Terrible experience. Many staff just standing around doing nothing with only 1 serving and we had to catch a bus so my wife asked one of the other staff if we could pay for a dvd as we had to get going to which they were very rude and told her she would have to wait only to then serve her a few moments later without a word said. Very rude and a bit of manners would be nice. Think the staff here need retraining or replacing.

The place is grubby and dark and not at all welcoming. We had to wait for ages to be served although the service was reasonably with knowledgeable staff. Prices were reasonable for what we were looking for and we were surprised by a 2 year warranty. Place needs a good clean up and refresh as it looks as though it is and probably will be busy in the future with the way the economy is heading.

Understand individual staff members are probably doing their best, but the systems in place at this store are totally inefficient. I needed to check and return a potentially faulty phone purchased recently. I spent more than an hour waiting to complete the process! Love the second hand market that CeX offers but I'll look elsewhere in future. The poor customer experience isn't worth it.

Hands down the best customer service I have ever experienced. Nice people that work there and a good selection of cheap products. The only complaint is that the queue can be quite long but that's only because they have to find every individual dvd/game/dvd in a big shelf. Overall I definitely recommend this store if you are in the area and are looking for these kinds of products.

I like cex and the store has a lot to offer. When I was there there was only 1 person on the sales counter and 3 on the buying counter. I was buying a camera and felt bad for the chap behind who had to wait 15 min while I completed my purchase. I asked the assistant to serve him first but was told he would have to wait. Good store but they need to sort issues like this out.

Standing 30 minutes to be served whilst they bought stuff, the 2 obvious managers did not jump on a till at all. When I said terrible service to the member off staff you have 2 staff here who can jump on he rudely replied like I said we are short staffed. Excellent place, it's enormous inside compared to some the other cex shops, over several floors. We went in to return a set of headphones, we were served very quickly and there was no problem with the return - and the guy serving us was very nice and he got for us 2 other pairs of headphones to look at, which we bought one - again very quick and efficient.

I used there 'drop and pay online service' really easy to use. All I had to do was take my item to the store where the staff were friendly and polite and walked me through the next process. Few hours later I received an email stating that the checks were complete and the money would be paid into my account. Fantastic service, definitely recommend

I Queued for 30mins with over £24 worth of dvds to purchase. I wanted to look at the discs before purchasing i wasn't allowed to handle the discs myself to look at them properly. Shop assistant said these discs all needed cleaning and should not have been out on sale. What total waste of time I walk out. Never to darken their doorway again

First time in this store, stood in line for at least 25 minutes, the stores I have been to previously were by no means this slow. So this doesn't just sound like a moan, how about separate queues? 2 out of 4 people doing trade-ins, then the other 2 doing sales. Then those who just want to pop in, grab a game or DVD can do so in a timely manor.

We all know that the waiting times can be unforgiving, the music is inappropriately loud for a predominant gaming store, staff pretend to think they are 'individual'. These days prices are more expensive than they are new. However, trade in prices remain the high streets best, take Game using the price beat scheme.

The staff is very slow, and do not know what they do! I wanted to look at the Samsung phone, and the guy just dropped it on the tile, and did not let me look at it!!! And when I asked to switch it on, he said you need to charge it and buy it and that's it. Horrible! the shop should think about changing the staff.

Why do there buy Some DVDS for 1p and sale them anything up to 2pounds . Take .X MEN DARK PHONINEX buy for 1p sale for 2pounds. Don't seem very fair .please look on there web site before taking anything to them. You could give 50p and still make a big profits. Sorry cex it's just seems unfair to the public .

Awful customer service. Wanted to buy 2 box sets and a number of dvds. Ended up queuing for 20 minutes without getting to counter. Spoke to manager, who didn't care, and had a family jump the queue. Manager did not want to know. Very unimpressed. Will not come back. My local CEX (Cwmbran) is very efficient.

Lots of staff but many just hanging around. So the queues end up miles long. Need a better system really. Gave up in the end. Update: Returned recently on an early Saturday, staff were much better. Must have been 10 people, all busy, which meant service was way faster. So increasing the stars.

Rubbish. Customer service is bellow 0. A handful of staff that just ignore you. Games are tested on the counter while there s a huuuge queue. My transaction takes 10secs, as my product has already been tested and cane back to get my cash. I was told, you just need to wait. Won t cone back.

We went in there at 4:59pm (us being cheeky) when they were meant to be closing the shop. These guys are just so friendly and professional. I thought they’d probably get us out but instead they were very helpful and let us get whatever we want. Great costumer service!!! Well done :)))

I just bought a MacBook Air, travelled all the way back home and now have a MacBook charger that isn’t even the right one for it. The Laptop is as dead as a door mouse so I can’t even see if there’s any fault with it on the inside. The thing is essentially useless to me now. Well done

Good selection of stock but awful queue times. The queue for people selling goods was 15+ long and only one person serving. There were two others behind the till sorting stock. You think they’d focus on serving customers. Two people left the shop as the wait was ridiculous. Awful.

Some reasonably priced CDs, DVDs, and second hand games but I can't figure out how they chose the pricing for a lot of their second hand hardware as it is sometimes cheaper online brand new! Queues in here can be really long, they could really do with more staff.

Great selection of second hand games, electronics and dvds. They don't give you the best prices but they're not set by this store. Considering the attitude of some customers I'd say the staff are very patient too and try to get everyone seen as soon as possible.

Love this shop. Massive selection of DVDs to choose from! Never seen such a big collection. Very reasonable prices. Lots of tech and games to choose from too. I bought the Alice in Wonderland DVD for just £1.50!

Relatively cheap games and DVD's to buy but they do stiff you If you are looking to sell. If you are selling, you'd better get in store credit rather than cash. However, they do take really old gaming consoles.

Personally, I like shopping at Cex, but today was the last time I went to into the Cex store in the Bristol City center, the service 0...Totally disrespectful from some employees from there.

So I took a brand new pair of AirPods Pro with Apple care on them till 2024 and went to the shop and they said they were fake even tho I had the receipt from when I bought them from Apple

Bad customer service and lack of leadership. lots of staff walking around the shop chatting to each other or hiding in office, no-one trying to serve customers in a time effective manner.

Awful customer service, unhelpful, was told incorrect information, not a 'high how can I help' or a smile in sight. Honestly would rather travel to a different store than go back again.

One of my favourite places to sell my old gadgets or new ones for a good price. I always buy used electronic from CEX they are basically new! Got B grade steam deck and it is perfect.

It's a good size store. They have a range of games and DVDS. You can sell any games or DVDS and they will buy them. The staff are nice and are happy to help if you ask them.

Shocking service, Stood at till waiting to buy, while staff chatting to each other, didn’t even acknowledge me . Shop was very quiet, not busy, I was only person waiting.

Decent service but unbearably slow queues if you're trying to sell anything. They're chronically understaffed. Avoid this store if you can.
