No smoking signs! Lifts are available! Screens are provided on each platform as well as inside Central & on entering! Guards are at the turnstiles for your assistance! A ticket office provides updating go cards via cash or eftpos! Wheelchair access is available! Drinks are available via vending machines! Lockers are available"

"Plenty of ways to get to the station"

Ticket gates are meant to work with smart phones, but it always tells me to retry. Staff, "Smart Ticketing Team", and their website were unable to help. Covid update: mask reminder signs are back, though still ignored by many people. No bins on platforms since G20, though there are now some on the concourse, and staff are quick to remove litter. Large station - 6 platforms, but able to keep up with rush hour. Trains on all citytrain lines stop at Central (and Roma St / Fortitude Valley). Platform changes aren't that common, but when they happen they are clearly announced multiple times, giving time for commuters to move to correct platform. Has exits to all surrounding streets (some are not obvious, such as the ones to Turbot St). Access from the pedestrian tunnel to platforms requires a Go Card (or a detour up the steps to concourse). Most of the entrances have automatic gates that require a Go Card. Disabled access via lifts from concourse to platforms and nearby streets, and a ramp from concourse to Edward Street (near corner with Ann Street). A few cafes, newsagents / convenience stores, Maccas. Close to Woolworths Metro (Ann Street).

A ticket office provides updating go cards via cash or eftpos! Wheelchair access is available! Drinks are available via vending machines! Lockers are available. Ticket machines are provided when you dont have a go card! Restrooms & wheelchair access restroom available plus baby changing room! A McDonald's store provides the quick fast food option while waiting for your train! Two other eateries NRG Express & Zoom are inside opposite Macdonalds! A WH Smith Newsagent is opposite a Merlin Coffee stand! Escalators provided take you to the Anzac Arcade! Also the public restrooms are always spotless & smell freshly cleaned! Vending machines on every platform with soft drinks & chips & chocolates!
Central Station has recently undergone renovations to its ticket counter and redesigned the entrances to work better with the flow of people traffic. It's not a huge station which is interesting seeing as it is "Central" but perhaps because Brisbane isn't that developed yet, compared to the other two big cities. It is generally clean, except for the Mackers which gets out of hand with rubbish from patrons and the tables and seats need to be cleaned but I can understand when they experience a rush. The newsagency at the station also recently expanded and offers a good area to browse in. There's also a nicer food shop, which is quite pricey, but offers an alternative to McDonalds. The staff are friendly when they have time to help or if you have been staring at the TVs for a long time trying to figure out where you need to be. Toilets are relatively clean.
Plenty of ways to get to the station. Walk up the hill along Edward street, through the tunnel at ANZAC square (Go Card needed to enter this way), or follow the crowds through the the building at the Edward and Ann Street intersection. Recently implemented Express Lanes from 7am to 9am where the ticket gates stay open (though you still have to touch on/off). Good clear announcements of train arrivals, platform changes, delays and safety information. Easy to view timetables on screens and always someone wandering around nearby who can help point you in the right direction. A few cafes inside to eat at or grab and go, including a MacDonalds.
I use this train station everyday and while generally clean the design of the station is poor. In busy times there is often not enough room on the platform and space is of a premium. It also gets very hot in summer as there seems to be zero natural air flow. If i could use another station i would but i dont have the choice. The tunnel which leads to the platforms is the most efficient way to enter and depart the station. You can often smell the exhaust fumes from the fast food outlets above as you wait for your train. Overall a dissapointing experience and in need of an overhaul.
During our holiday in Central Brisbane from Cairns from 31/08/21 to 10/09/21 we often used the trains from Central Station, either to & from the domestic airport or to Toowong + to surfers paradise. The trains appear to operate on time with a regular timetable, train carriages are clean & spacious with plenty of comfortable seats & station staff were friendly & helpful. Using our Translink Go Cards is a convenient way to travel.
Generally much nicer then most stations in Brisbane area, clean and has modern toilets. Some food spots, pub and a news agency. Staff are friendly and helpful plus more than standard two go card top up/ticket machines! Connecting hallways to other stores and restaurants. Multiple street access points. Security makes me feel sufficiently safe using this station during night time trips.
This station is not good, the customer service gives the wrong directions & the self service machines don't work well as it won't take coins & only certain notes. Using covid19 as an excuse notnot to tender cash is also wrong as per the previous noted reasons. The train s are unsafe as there's only 1 toilet on board & I have motion sickness so traveling backwards using it was an issue
Very easy to get around and conveniently located from City Hall and Queens Street mall! Easy to use Google to find a route on the train with arrival timings! Their online website also has an accurate and easy to use fare calculator so it’s been a smooth journey with no unpleasant surprises for a 1st time commuter on Australian railways. Kudos to the staff and train captains!!
Good train station. Very central to everything. Has a McDonald's inside. Can change trains here for any line. Manned early until late. Other food shops and newsagents may be open on platforms or on the main concourse depending on time of day. Clean toilets upstairs wheelchair accessible. There is a lift on all platforms and most platforms also have 2 Escalators, one each way.
Adequate (just) central station for Brisbane. Overall it's very old and somewhat rundown. Has very limited old world charm in its current state. Platform height doesn't match train height on several platforms. Bathrooms are in a terrible state. Overall it's a symbol of Translink / QLD perfected art of mismanagement and complancancy.
It's not terrible, but for a 'central' station it's kind of disappointing. At platform level it feels dark and a bit run down, and the concourse is weirdly laid out and feels dated. It's by all means a very passable train station with great service, but for the central station in the network it's very lacklustre.
Central station is ok but needs to be brought into 20th century. Still same as 90s. A least covers up over closed shop. What would be good is a Coles / Woolies Metro to get more people to enjoy the space. Queensland Rail really needs to improve the space and just not another 'Lets get out of here' place.
Central railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It is the principal station on the City network and is located in the Brisbane central business district. In 2025, when Cross River Rail opens, Central railway station will be renamed ANZAC Square Station.
Public transport station. I believe everyone wants to spend as little time here as possible - get on a train and go! The shops here are limited, and everyone seems to be in a rush to get the next train. It never seems clean here, with a layer of grime even after a recent upgrade.
Timings of trains is highly inaccurate. Google maps has a good indication of when trains are coming unlike the schedule board on the platform. Pretty useless information if its just incorrect. Also curious as to how a train can be 15 minutes late when there's a schedule.
I'm on platform 3 and there is not a single rubbish bin on this platform. I had to go upstairs to find one. Other than that the station is fine. Enough seating and quite clean. Announcements are audible and there is plenty of information which makes it easy to get around
Nice little area to wait for your train with a Maccas and a few other places to eat they have the new go card readers from cubic systems which are nice and fast compared to the new ones, and the platforms themselves are well lit and kept clean most of the time.
Well-maintained train station with many points of exit to various parts of the city (you can exit onto Ann Street or directly into Anzac Square or through a mall onto Adelaide Street). Convenient Macca's with seating both inside and outside the station proper.
What to expect from a central station? I do not expect a shopping centre or several restaurants. I expect good connections short intervals and information to be able to find the right platform. That's what Brisbane Central Station is offering.
Ticket machine 35 eats cash and does not credit it to your Translink card. Staff are aware of the issue but refuse to fix it and simply say to, "Contact Translink," which begs the question of who employs them.
I would have to agree with other reviewers, Central Station is clean, easy to get around and the staff are friendly. Ttrains run frequently and on time. Elevator and moving escalator to platforms for access.
You got a remember the past for our forefathers other ones should be congratulated great engineering of railways made life easy by steam train and now with new Electric train make me Proud of my state
Thank you to the station staff for being so helpful in finding our lost mobile phone. All acted as a great team phoning stations and working together we located the phone. Happy ending! Thx
The centre of the Brisbane rail network and the most staffed station. All gates are automated and those that are not are staffed. There is a McDonalds inside the barriers.
Dosen't really impress those who have travled 16 hours on a plane to come and travel Australia. too end up at this station. Staff are wonderful and polite, friendly.
Toilets are regularly closed and lifts/escelators regularly broken down. I have personally seen aggressive staff and poor behaviour from passengers is frequent
I asked old mate what platform will my train arrive on and he was more than happy to let me know. It was neat to see a bloke working at the traino so happy.
Usually, very friendly and informative station staff. However, was shocked by rudeness recently! I reckon, more training is needed to deal with customers!!!
Medium size train station with food court and toilets. Helpful staff and decent customer desk service. Station is situated just few block from city center.
Well kept station with good signage that is updated regularly for what platforms trains are expected to arrive on. Having no rubbish bins can be an issue.
Sufficient station but seriously in need of some bins. It’s no wonder there is litter on the train tracks. Long wait time for the air train to the airport
Clean for the most part and fairly decent since the renovations. Only bin is outside McDonald's (recently reintroduced for the first time since 2014).
Easy to navigate, safe train station central to city. Has good restaurants above and on same level as platforms. Many access points. Clean. Well lit.
It has been easy to find train ride from here, always. I use Google maps to find the best option for me. They are somehow updated real-time manner.
Very convenient and easily navigable train station in Brisbane CBD. Easily accessible for locals/tourists living or working around the CBD area.
I like trains, there are trains here and they are fast. Mostly trains run on time but the lack of bins loses a star I know bins are dangerous
Good Train station. It's clean and has plenty of seating. Does get very busy in peak times though and doesn't seem to ave any rubbish bins.
I've only gone a couple of times but I didn't have a problem getting anywhere else in Brisbane from here and the buses were always on time
Very efficient, easy to navigate railway station interface middle of Brisbane city. Busy at peak times but well monitored for services.
The staff at this station are rude af and it absolutely stinks. I feel bad for people who have to travel and from this station daily.
Convenient for the city, interesting architecture, but it can feel like a bit of a maze if you don't know exactly where you're going.
Central was not too busy and their were sitting chairs for the elderly and those waiting for buses or someone, it's fantastic …
Central Station is a very convenient place to aim for if you're going to Suncorp or lots of other places in central Brisbane
Google maps needs a serious update, buses are not showing up at the stops listed by them, I’m an hour late because of this
It’s the main train station in Brisbane city and if you want to go beyond the south east east catch a train to roma street
Very informative staff and the facilities are well maintained, platforms have all the information required for a transit.
Orderly station with a convenient McDonald's, a gift shop and several exit points allowing for swift passage to and fro.
I prefer changing platforms here as you go up and over the tracks. I find the cobwebs and grime overhead disconcerting.
No bins on any of the platforms. Just little signs saying "Please dispose of your rubbish thoughtfully." What a crock.
Always clean and tidy and we'll staffed. The lady in the ticket office was amazing. So helpful cheerful and friendly.
Met Brian this morning. He was very kind and even helped our family with our bags on to the train! Thankyou Brian
Convenient, regular services, friendly staff, newsagent, Macca's, hotel and coffee bar all located on concourse.
It is easily accessible with visual display showing all the departure platforms. Cafes on site and rest rooms.
Easy to find platform, train arrived on time and arrived to my destination without dealing with traffic …
All suburban trains going to and from the city, beyond southeast u catch trains at roma street station …
great station that’s easy to get around. there’s food available, lots of staff and clear information boards.
Worst central train station in the country. Unsafe at night. No security. Depressing in every possible way.
Very clean station, everything is marked clearly for ease of access. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Timetable says train departs at 1.28 pm as we were coming down the stairs at 1.25 pm the train departs
Customer service is improving especially there's a person to direct which platform and time to go.
Train station located in the city with frequent services. There are plenty of Go Card stations.
Easy and safe access to a lot of places in the Brisbane area and the Gold and Sunshine coast's
Quite busy, trains run frequently. Elevator and moving escalator to platforms for access.
Very exposed to the elements even though most of it is underground. Gets very warm.
Well maintained, this place is kept clean and tidy, but somehow lack of character.
Better than Roma Street station, although it definitely needs an overall facelift.
As it states, very central. Great information on platforms and schedules.
Pretty shoddy train station. Could really do with freshening up.
I look left and right.. All i see is emo girls with dyed hair..
Always a great place to catch trains. No complaints here …
Still no bins on the platform. Bathrooms where a mess at 800am
A lot of fast food choices and other local shops around …
Good train hub, plenty of staff around and information boards.
It is easy to get around the station, and it is very clean.
Good train station that caters for large numbers of people.
The railway station is as its best. Everything is nearby.
Some food options but handy once on or off the train
It's very easy to take a train. Everything's signed.
It has a lot to do here, other than catch a train.
Its changed since i was there last. Very impressed
Small station. New barriers for go card and Visa.
Why are there no rubbish bins on the platforms?
Excellent facilities and transportation system.
Bad signage, broken escalators, dirty, dark
A good station to get anywhere in the city
Always hard to see signs and use lifts
Upgrades and renewal sorely needed.
Amazing place and clean environment
Great station! No wait times!
Really nice train station
It's a train station
Pretty great station
Good
