On 6/22/17, we had an accident that was not our fault. We really did not know what to do. After the other driver had no driver's license or insurance, we knew that we had to go to the police department to report this to them. Thank God we were not hurt, but we did have car damage. This is where the 18th district stepped up and helped us to settle down. I must mention two ladies who were remarkable to us. I say remarkable because they were ultimate professional. We could sense they knew what they were doing. They were confident enough to be relaxed and a demeanor and professional acumen that made you feel everything would be alright. They also were pleasant to be with. What good fortune we had to meet them. Ramona Stovall # 11157 and Angela Cleveland # 19594, who, by the way, saved me from a diabetic low while doing their work. These ladies will always be in my prayers that they will always be safe and I hope to see them again soon.

I had a good experience here. My phone was stolen and the officers were pretty gung ho to track it down once I got the find my phone working. Long story short, officers in another precinct botched the job even after they had eyes on the perp so I never did see that phone again, however the officers at this station really did the best job they could have given the circumstances. They were quick to relay information to the beat cops in the precinct where the phone showed up and were engaged with the case. I found the officers to be empathetic like, you know, normal humans. I didn’t go here with any expectations, so came out of this experience having a better view of cops. I really expected a dead end bureaucracy even after the phone showed up on my iPad, so it’s cool that they used the tech to try and make a quick arrest in real time.

I went into the police station to file an accident report. I gave myself 90 minutes to file the report before a meeting I had to attend. I waited in line for 65 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me. Only one of the 3 people behind the counter actually helped a citizen, while the other 2 helped other officers (ahead of the people in line) or people on the phone. I finally asked if anyone would see me because i had to leave and witnessed someone tell another person to help me, but was still ignored. I went back into line and witnessed a woman from the back of the line get helped before me. I was finally called up to the desk after 70 minutes and was ignored for 2 more phone calls. I promptly left without ever getting any help.

Unproffesional and rude officers starting from the Sergeant's attitude. I went in the police station to file a complaint on an officer. As I was talking to Sergeant she stated that when or if I filed the complaint I could be sued. I had to explain to her that in the hearing they ruled in my favor but she still will try and defend her officer Theresa Kelly. Officer Kelly was not professional and wouldn't identify herself during an improper traffic stop.

My wallet was stolen, and it is impossible to get a police report done. They tell you to call 311 where you wait on hold, at the police station the process is extremely slow. The police officers are chatting up people who are coming in to be helped. They are talking about the jets and the Yankees, literally right now. Meanwhile I’m on vacation and don’t know when I will return to see the city again. This is serious misuse of time.

HORRIBLE SERVICE to the public. I was in an accident and went to report it. NOT ONE of the officers attempted to write the paper work and I was turned around. I had to go to the Harrison and kedzie Station and by then the accident was already reported and now I'm possibly going to be reported at fault (which I wasn't). Due to Lazy officers who would rather play with a dog at the front desk than serve the public.

The only logical explanation is that someone drove to a local clown school and offered a sign up bonus to anyone who would work at this station. These "officers" are intentionally trying to be as deplorable as possible to lower citizen morale. Hold them accountable and complain to 311. They're just bullies in uniforms and without those guns they're just people. Don't be intimidated and fight for what's right!

Rude, belittling and a disgrace to the city of Chicago. These men should not be officers. The environment was hostile. And they were talking about the memorial day flash mob event at north ave in an unprofessional manner. Talking poorly about the people who filed complaints. We went in to file a police report after being rear ended....and we received nothing but a bad attitude and no willingness to help.

  • Amir Dizdarevic

Horrible attitude, mean and rude demeanor, careless, unhelpful. Anyone that doesn't wear a uniform to them is unworthy of their respect and time. Also, their intelligence level is at an all-time low. They literally don't know how to do their jobs, as I found out. The easiest and most simple task took them 20 minutes when it should have taken 2 minutes, as we all found out. WAY TO SERVE AND PROTECT CPD!

Most unprofessional police call ive ever made. Guy answered the phone and hung up on me twice when i was trying to report a dangerous pedestrian crosswalk where the police need to be at. Someone is going to be ran over at this intersection because cars are not yielding to pedestrian traffic in the crosswalk while the pedestrians have the right of way.

I had previously filed a police report but had lost the report number and was at my wits end and thought all was lost but, thankfully OFFICE MORDAN at 18th district was able to obtain the information for me. Thank you Officer for your help. He was very very helpful and extremely polite!!!

  • Elhenris

After waiting for 6 hours for info on the arrest of a loved one, the officer would not even look me in the eye, interrupted me & in a not so polite manner essentially told me to stop bothering her just 10 seconds into when i started talking

  • Ryan Nordle

Walked a mile to this station to report that I was a victim of identity theft and speak with an officer. The officer at the desk was cold and disinterested ("what happened? give me the short version."). Without gathering any information

  • Toast The Most

Officer Campbell (#3388) is very rude. He hung up on me twice, refused to give his badge number (had to call the accountability department), and refused to transfer me to his supervisor.

  • Mamie Crosby

I went in to report a accident that happened in front of the police station, the office that wrote the report was mean and rude and acted as if I was irritating her by coming in

  • Marvin Rhodes

I sat in line for a hour with no else. Received no help from the five officers at the desk who were idling on the phone. I asked when can I be helped and received blank stares.

  • Bogsomi

So rude and unprofessional!!!! I say transfer them all to south side lets see if they gonna appreciate their job and start respect the citizens that pays for their salary!!!

  • Qui Dong Le

Horrible attitude, mean and rude demeanor, careless, unhelpful. They have only one job! Their job is to serve and protect but I can clearly see that they can care less.

  • Zachery Martin

  • Wally R

Left a report of missing articles. Was treated exceptionally well, was very satisfied with the service. Thank you 18th District Chicago PD

  • Adam Carlton

Don't bother filing a police report, a detective won't get around to calling you in time to get the surveillance tapes anyway.

  • Remi Ayo

I don’t know why they call this place a police station. You go in there happy and you come out being sad. Shame

  • CORTNEY SMITH

Amazing service, extremely attentive and sympathetic. The most positive experience I've ever had with CPD.
