We were lied to and charged for something we did not ask for or consent to. **Edit: in response to owner’s reply, pictures added for proof that we solicited this business (and that I own the associated vehicle). I won’t be calling you, City Tire team if you’re simply going to tell me you disagree about what happened; perhaps you usually communicate inspection fees ahead of time but in this case you did not. However if you want to discuss a refund you should have my number associated with the vehicle in the picture and can call me.** We went in asking for a tire alignment and they didn't do it, but did not communicate that they weren't going to until hours later when we came back expecting the job to be done. When we dropped off the car we were told that they would do a tire alignment for us and that it would $145—this sounded about right. When we came back hours later the man at the desk said they would not do the alignment b/c there was a problem with a part (the tie rod which I had already asked them to look at when they aligned the tires b/c I can change that part myself if need be) and they were charging us $50 for an inspection of which the conclusion was...."you need a tire alignment" and quoted us over $1,200(!) to do that and fix some parts (a tie rod will cost you ~$20-30 and take you maybe the better part of an hour to replace if you know what you're doing btw). When we came back and stated that we understood they were gonna align the tires the man got defensive and condescending making it seem like the implications were obvious that they were going to charge for an inspection and might ultimately say they would not align the tires before the current parts being fixed. That, frankly is a lot of assumption to make even if you assume above average car knowledge in your customers. Maybe this guy was having a bad day, but he was rude and has lost us as customers despite it being one of the closer tire service places to our home and otherwise we’ll reviewed. Buyer be warned.

I am devasted and now without a car because the engine has locked. I went in for a simple oil change, When the guy was done, He told me I would eventually need to replace my serpentine belt and a cabinet filter which was not needed to be done right away. I went to them on 2/23/23 and my engine locked on 4/2/23 not even a month later. I called them and told them what happened to my car which shut down on the express way and had to pushed to my house, their response was we sent a text letting you know you had a oil leak. Why wouldn't you tell me at the time of service, what sense did it make for me to pay $77 for a oil change only to leak out. They're response for me to have it towed to them for them to look at it, more money I don't have and the engine is very much locked, I had a mechanic already looked at it and said the engine locked due to no oil. Please make sure they tell you in person what is going on with you car and not through a text message that half the people don't even read. What happened to being held accountable and the customer is always right. $7,000 of my hard earned money for my car that I no longer can drive at all. I don't deserve to now have to pay a car note in getting another car. I'm devastated.

We moved to a new neighborhood and my car needed work so I was looking for an auto repair shop close by. I went on a neighborhood Facebook group and several people recommended the shop. I also went on Yelp and likewise the reviews were excellent and they received high ratings. So, I took my car in. My husband and I first met Bobby, who was friendly and polite. We left the car that day (Wednesday) and the next morning I was sent a text giving a detailed report (with pictures) outlining the issues with the car. Late Thursday afternoon, the car was ready, but I couldn’t pick it up then. They were very accommodating with me being able to pick up the car early Friday morning (about 30 minutes before they open because I needed to get to work) As for the the car, it is running just as it did when we newly purchased it! No more knocking, or suspension issues. The car is running very smoothly. We will have all of our auto repairs taken care of here! Highly recommend them!!

I've gotten so used to awful customer services (across all industries) that I'm still processing how EASY and PLEASANT this whole thing was... I'm seriously never leaving these guys. They have a fantastic waiting area, where I'm sure it would be comfortable to work while you wait. I couldn't wait because I'm expecting twins and can't be upright for very long at this point, so I Ubered home, and returned the next day for pickup. Drop-off was easy yesterday, registeration as a new customer was SO fast, they did not try to upsell anything, and they even TEXTED me this morning to let me know that it was ready. They changed the oil, rotated the tires, fixed a slow leak, reset the distances in my dashboard, applied a new sticker with the mileage for the next oil change, and the car was spotless inside afterwards. I'll stop there (for now), but I'm VERY happy that a friend referred me to their business. They clearly care AND know what they are doing.

I was referred to this shop by my boss. Excellent service! They are honest in their evaluations, which is huge for me! The gentlemen are kind and friendly. They answered all of my questions without making me feel like I was asking something "dumb". Oh, and I must mention, their waiting area is amazing!!! Very comfortable chairs, super clean, and inviting. The whole reception area was very clean and organized. Why does that matter for a mechanic shop? Well, it shows they care about the comfort of their customers and that they care about their business. I do have to include that their service prices are higher than I've experienced, HOWEVER, the saying holds true that "you get what you pay for"; I feel comfortable that they performed my service correctly and efficiently. I had gone to another shop that charged less, but they didn't do the work properly. I recommend City Tire & Auto.

My wife brought our van here because the driver's side front tire had a slow leak. She was told a flat repair is about $42 (even though the price list, in the lobby, says $35). After evaluation, she was informed they couldn't repair the tire because it had sidewall damage and she would have to buy a new tire for $322.04. Fortunately, she took pictures of the price list and location of the nail. You be the judge. To me, it looks like the nail is in the tread. She left and we got the tire patched for $15.

The work done on my hummer was fast, efficient and very professional. Each step of the process was explained to me and they even took pictures of other areas to show me where work may need to be done in the future. I appreciated the no touch pay option and will be coming to you guys for all my future car needs. They followed up the next day inquiring in regards to how my vehicle was running. I was in need of a new car repair "relationship," and I do consider it to be an ongoing relationship. I wanted a place that was fair in their pricing, skilled in their workmanship and easily accessible from home or work. I read the reviews and decided to try City Tire & Auto Repair. I wasn't disappointed. I had major work done, but I believe their prices were fair and they did a great job. They were also very pleasant. I'll definitely continue to use them when I need work done on my car.

We haven’t been to City Tire in a few years and went in for a tire repair recently. The guys immediately remembered me and it was like we’d never left. They diagnosed our issue quickly, explained exactly why we needed a tire replacement, and had a new tire in for us the next morning. Quick and easy, no nonsense. The lobby is clean and always well-stocked, and I enjoy that I can use the Wi-Fi to get some work done while I wait.

Great service! their website is very easy to use: I was able to find the right kind of tires for my car and it clearly provided me with a breakdown and quote. That level of transparency made me comfortable enough to send my car in. They were great at providing their unbiased expert opinion on what my car needed and they were able to get me the exact brand and type of tire I needed. I will definitely be using them again.

I love this place and highly recommend it! As a woman, I felt really comfortable here, the staff was very professional and kind. The space was really clean and I was able to actually get work done while I waited for my car to be finished. The prices are a bit higher than to do dealership. I stopped in the other day to see if they could repair a flat tire. I was greeted by a super friendly and professional staff. They got me right in and surprisingly had the car fixed up and ready to go much faster than I thought for a very fair price. They were trustworthy, economical, and did great work. Been coming to City Tire mostly for oil changes/inspections and have had great experiences so figured I'd get more work done here. Got new tires before the winter, wheel alignment, and brakes. Received an accurate quote, and great work done in a timely manner. Staff is very friendly and professional. There is a reason they have a great reputation. 10/10 would recommend!

Great place, very amicable guys. They’re quick at what they do and really good at communicating what the issues with the car are, the cost breakdown, and the service timing. They make sure to check in a few days after each servicing to confirm things are okay still. I appreciate that they allow online scheduling and have a nice waiting area in the office.

Got a flat tire while driving through Chicago and could not thank this shop enough!
