We visit the Dalhousie location often. Shortly before Christmas, the self-checkout systems malfunctioned, which led to the credit card being charged yet the self checkout system showing that the transaction didn't go through. One of their staff named Nathan insisted on us paying for the items twice. There was clear evidence that the credit card was charged. When evidence of double billing on the credit card was presented they never rectified their error. Everyone kept reverting to someone else. This is unethical and kin to ripping off a long standing customer and a member. Very poor customer service at this location. UPDATE: False claim by Dalhousie Coop that they reimbursed the amount. They never did and it is now 2022. Horrible customer service! Please do not make false statements. After shopping there since September of 1980, they treat customers so horribly after being in default themselves. Can confirm there has never been any refund of the ripped off amount.

The store looks lovely 'n bright after the rennos but your prices don't encourage me to shop with you too regularly! The most efficient & courteous part of your store right now appears to be the Pharmacy. My experience in the Grocery today was not the best - I tried out your new self-checkout machines but .... hard to believe, the prices on the machine were not in synch with the 'Specials' price on your counters!! Isn't that the whole purpose of these machines - efficiency & accuracy? Then to make matters worse, the attendant (who I don't think believed me & went back to check the price) keyed in a wrong price herself! If this where the Co-Op 'computer wizards' are taking us, I think I'll be shopping elsewhere. Sad to say this after about 50 years of shopping in your stores all over Calgary.

I've been shopping here for 9 years and I can honestly say, the employees here act like they're working in a sweat shop or labour camp in North Korea! This one clerk Micheal (looks kind of philipino or indigenous) is so rude and flirts with his boyfriend while texting on his phone in front of customers. The only truly happy/kind employees there is a great guy named Terry the vitamin department lady. The fruit area is always a hit or miss. The lemons are literally always half bad and disgusting as if they don't care about the produce. Meat and fish seem ok but alot of food here will be close to expiry date. Don't expect much from employees though as they hire alot of highschool kids. It's sad but I might have to start shopping at crowfoot Co op as this one has clearly been mismanaged.

Started going here a couple years ago because of the horrible service at nearby Safeway. However this location now is even worse for service. Today, in a not busy store, there was one till open, and a line halfway down the row. Tried to go through self service checkout, which I hate doing because I believe in supporting jobs. Ran $200 of groceries by myself, to have the self service till freeze up, unable to pay for my groceries for the week. And before anyone responds and blames staff shortages, Calgary has the highest unemployment out of any major city in canada. If you pay a fair wage you will get hard workers. Treat them poorly, and you get this situation, which is foreseeable and preventable. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

Oh the cheese selection! Who would've thought a seemingly run of the mill Calgary chain supermarket would stock (and clearly curate) a cheese selection this diverse. So many regional varieties and then multiple types of each variety from all over the world. Two types of raclette in this Dalhousie gem and easily a dozen Bries and Camemberts.and several blues. Lots more than that. Go for the cheese, often discounted, and get all your other shopping too at reasonable prices. Lots of niche, local and Albertan products too. Major reno in last couple of years has transformed this place. Go!

Older blond cashier lady working approx. 4:30pm was VERY rude. I had a huge bag from Walmart that had tons of food in it so I clearly was shopping at Walmart. She asks me where I was shopping and I said Walmart. She condescendingly (with a smile and outloud) tells me she feels bad for me and how much she hates Walmart and doesn't stop. The guy who was with her heard it all. I can NOT believe how openly IGNORANT someone can be. I don't care if you hate Walmart, making fun of where a customer shops is DISCUSTING. The lack of class and manners for her was unreal. Shame on you lady.

  • Wavedancer83

Absolutely love this location, since the renovations it’s my favorite Coop to shop at. Open, bright, welcoming… a great improvement after the reno’s. The bakery has a lot of variety I find- the chocolate cream pie is a family favorite, there was a lady giving out samples of the tiramisu a month or two ago and it was unbelievable. I have purchased it many times since. Produce is always fresh, delicious and inviting. The spicy salsa that they make is better than any jarred brand in my opinion.

Their grab and go food has progressively got bad and tasteless as of 2022. They are definitely cutting corners and packaging up stale low quality food for expensive prices. I've noticed that their fried rice now looks like freezer burnt veggies and weird tasting rice. Unfortunately it doesn't taste or smell fresh. Potato wedges are stale and over cooked, the nuggets are over cooked and quite dry. I've never had very high expectations for grab and go food but this change has been noticeable.

  • James Umpherson

I purchased a bag of Fratello coffee from the store. After consuming some of the product and tasting stale, I checked the best before date. It's best before date was two months past. I returned the product and Coop provided a refund. More than this, I noticed that they immediately removed ALL of the stale dated coffee from the shelf. Superlative service for Coop and the roaster to ensure product display supports product quality.

  • Micheal Brisbois

It's a grocery store, nothing too special. But the reason for the review is the self checkout machines have a terrible user interface. The old way to pick your payment was clean and simple, the KISS method. The new pop up for choosing how to pay is hot garbage. Confusing, small, the debit/credit option doesn't even look like a button, looks like a title. But the store is nice, just a terrible UI on the self checkouts.

  • Michael Chudy

Super handy location with a vast selection. Staff is outstanding; knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. Prices are nice and you gotta love the added bonus of the co-op card! It's also a nice bonus to have sample tables set up every weekend, that's a nice touch and helps me find new drinks. A couple of parking spots are pretty steep, you'll see them right away, those can be tricky or fun.

  • J Hutch

Friendly staff ready to help. A very clean store well organized. And generally good prices. Look for the sale items. When they discount - it can be significant. (COVID has hit many grocery prices - I have seen the increases of many items. This Coop is taking COVID seriously - I don't like shopping anywhere these days but if I have to go - this is a great grocery store to hit.)

  • Architype

I really love co-op in general as they are a much more intimate and friendly local store with a family feel which I prefer to the big chains (like the abomination called Walmart). This location also has a liquor store, cannabis store and a gas station which offers fabulous pricing as well as a year-end cash refund for anyting spent anywhere within the group.

  • Enaiyat Ghani Ovy

This is a nice co-op store. The store looks pretty inside. It is clean and organized perfectly. The bakery and deli section looks very fresh. We noticed some price drops for various items. The cashiers were friendly and courteous. This is a comparatively big coop store. Our visit was positive at this location. I would definitely recommend this place.

  • Carina Kwok

The staff are always helpful, and friendly. The site is freshly renovated and attractive (except the women's bathroom - it needs a refresh and better lighting). Large produce section and meat section contains fresh and good quality product. Good prices, especially during sales. The store is very clean and well maintained.

  • Miranda H

Smaller Co-op compared to some around town so the selection is a bit smaller, however they have a good sized meat department. I don't always find the most knowledgeable or helpful staff here, but there are a few really great people who work at this location. This location also has a gas bar and two touchless carwashes.

  • Ian S

Called meat department to inquire about whether or not sauces with chicken they sold had gluten (I am a celiac), overheard conversation between two employees about me not reading the box (Which I had) and was less then impressed with the lack of professionalism. Thankfully moved so I don't have to go back here.

  • jason thompson

It's a liquor store. Really has everything one would expect, walk in cooler, cold beer, good selection. Prices are reasonable, slightly high but you do get coop membership rewards that offset the pricing. If you take advantage of sale prices with the membership you are really ahead on the pricing side.

  • madeline janie lhirondelle

The price on the shelf below the product is not the price of the product Three managers told me that employees know the code that gives you the correct price Anyone else ? You don't you just don't get to know the price omg shopping at other co op stores will be worth the drive Totally insane reasoning

  • Ted Szabunio

Been a member a long time 25+ years! Rarely go now. They have totally priced themselves out of reality!!! Now have gone to more affordable stores! Am retired and do not have a fortune to disburse. Products great store outlay great but prices are elitist. Sorry just my budget and observations.

  • John Newman

Great service. I was looking for Tahini and it was off shelf. The clerk went in the back and no luck. 10 minutes later she tracked me down at the till with a jar of tahini. They lose a star becuase prices are a bit on the high side. Watch the city road up from the store...very icy.

  • C B (CollyDoo)

Never busy and plenty of parking! The hidden gem at this store is in the deli. You can get a large pizza there for $12! The produce and grocery are pretty much the same as anywhere else. Meat department is pretty good as well. All in all if you live in Dalhousie/Varsity shop here!

  • Dawn-Lee Martin

Excellent Bakery. Loved the free fruit flan sampler so bought a whole one!! Excellent produce. Super friendly staff that actually say hello and make you feel so welcome. Customer Service Desk has superior service mature knowledgeable staff. We love our Dalhousie Coop!

  • Alex Najm

I will never shop at this establishment. I was discriminated against by two employees on the morning of December 10, 2019. I have contacted Co-op head office multiple times (and left a voicemail) but still haven't heard back from anyone. It really is appalling.

  • Sebastian Lindner

Nice and quiet grocery store. Dairy prices seem hihger at co-op than at other stores, but the meat selection is good and I thought pretty competitive in prices. Go here if spending 10% more is worth not dealing with superstore or other busy and hectic places.

  • Will Conner

It was really good. The selection was fantastic with easily identified local options and gluten-free options. The produce is fantastic fresh. The place is very clean and the staff very friendly. Shout out to Stephen at the meat counter for being a trooper.

  • Alex Jennett

thank you so much to the man washing the carts the past two times I've been there, you are incredibly kind and make us feel very welcome in this strange time!! Thank you so much and to the rest of the incredible staff at this location!! …

  • Alexander Doerksen

They done sprucified this Co-op at some point in the recent past, as it is so clean and tidy and well laid out now, just mint. Produce was crisp and fresh, and the cheese buns are as legendary as they were 15 years ago. Lovely improvements.

  • Ormagodon Online

Location has a bright, clean layout, making it easy to find what you need. Although... prices are a bit over the top. 2 tubes of Pringles, some coffee whitener and a tube of toothpaste; $35. The main reason I do large shops at Superstore.

  • Lucas Ker

This Co-op is old and it shows. Decent produce and meat section but the bakery is below standard. There are plans afoot to build a new one in the future though which will be welcome. The liquor store there has a great selection though.

  • ed

This store supposed to be converted into a new condo with a new food centre but plan stopped due to a newly renovated Walmart Super Centre nearby. Why Coop not selling their gas cheaper at the pumps to attract customers(gas & shop)?

  • Jessica Noble

Nice store, and good food options. The person packing the groceries used many bags and all the food could have fit in just a few bags. So not too environmentally . He was still super nice though, and the store was lovely to shop in.

  • Samantha Dueck

Joshua and abadal and i am sorry there was one more person. They were all wonderfully helping me with the new app!!! And honestly the new app and the perks are so awesome! I love the little bonus cash especially during these times!

  • Bala Gayathri Sekar

No complaints abt their products but they could improve the customer service. Anyways not going to this particular Coop location. Since my last visit the Coop has improved with customer service and their rewards program is nice.

  • nick deck

Great staff for the most part they always have stock it's a clean well managed store but prices are quiet High top 3 most expensive city wide along save on foods n Sobers super expensive they all are but to hear 3 are highest

  • Amelie Pare

Great service, has a lot of local products both in the grocery and wine sections, which are well priced. A lot of choices - imported product slightly more expensive than other places. Great place to get good meat and produce.

  • V P

There's another Co-op closer to home, but I prefer to drive to the Dalhousie location, it's a great traditional store and the staff are more welcoming. Shout out to Dave P. in produce who went the extra mile helping me today.

  • Jil McMahon Bazant

Co-op is a locally owned cooperative grocery store. They have lots of interesting, hard to find products and high quality produce and meat choices. The staff are friendly and helpful. The store is clean and well stocked.

  • Michelia Alba

I like to buy groceries here. Most of the time the price of items that I need are cheaper. It is also in the same location with Co-op liquor store, gas station, and many more. So, I can shop several items in one place.

  • Teresa Graham

Friendly and helpful staff and good selection of product. Not impressed to see so much US grown produce rather than local. Will probably look for somewhere else to shop as fresh produce is a main staple. Too bad.

  • Jeff L

Check the best before date on everything you buy. They are really bad at removing past dated products from the shelves. Otherwise it's a nice Co op. Very dated but they are supposed to be building a new one soon.

  • Sher Bob

When I moved from Dalhousie I really missed shopping here. They have lots of fresh produce, fresh baked goods, a deli & always stocked with comparable prices. Bonus you don't need a loonie to use a shopping cart!

  • Justin Grant

Just bought cool whip in an aerosol can. Expired 4 days ago. Doesn't leave me very confident in their expiry date process. I'll shop somewhere where they have a good process for keeping things under control.

  • Ke Deng

In comparison to the Safeway in the same district, this Coop is older, and smaller. At least it doesn't feel as spacious. Price is a bit higher too. But convenient with a wine shop, as well a gas station.

  • Jon M

Always slow. I love the huge selection and it's always easy to get a hand if you require one. It's got all 4 outlets available if ya need them. (Main store, gas bar, liquor, and cannabis)

  • Nicole Boucher

I work at The Manor Village at Varsity and I wanted to thank Co-op Dalhousie for donating a $75.00 gift card that went towards our Community BBQ. It was an amazing afternoon, Thank you:)

  • Rick B

Great selection of fresh produce and meat. Anything that isn't fresh or meat can be bought for less in Walmart. In some cases the exact same things are more than half price in Walmart.

  • Nicole Soltys

I like this store because it has a great bakery, deli and fresh produce department. Plus there are a lot of food options from the usual to the organic. Older store but nice & clean.

  • Chris Aingworth

As with all Calgary Co-ops, nice and clean. Well organized and helpful staff. Was weird that there was no in house baked bread but could have been all sold out. Got buns instead.

  • Mike Henry

I find the Co-Op relaxing. Never long line ups, staff happy and helpful. It may not be the cheapest place to shop but they get 90% of my grocery dollars. A great place to shop.

  • Louis L

Great place staff are friendly always get my gas, propane, meat and vegetables here staff are super friendly and kind only thing is the deli food does not quite "agree" with me

  • Bee M

Everything I needed was there and we see the same employees all the time so it makes the connection welcoming! The lady at the deli is always funny, kind, and compassionate

  • M. P. S.

Nice coop market, not too big though... the eat in section doesnt have too many options as I have seen in other coops. But its the closest one to me so I always buy there.

  • Bwalya Mulilo

I love coming here, never too busy and the staff are amazing and sweet.. I especially enjoyed having Miss Sarah as my cashier she was kind, and funny very good staff!! -B

  • Gordon McConnell

Gone down hill. They brag about their meat but it's not very good. Overpriced. Have to pay all those union wages. You get a rebate but your paying for that. A real scam.

  • Pewdiepie Schur-Haig

Came in over the weekend a young boy named Jovan was very friendly to me! he helped me get my food and get out of there! this was my face after my experience at coop

  • A M

Exceptionally rude staff that make fun of the customer . Dealt with Lisa and do not recommend this place to anyone . Never expected this sort of service from coop

  • Grayson Pratt

Better than coop Brentwood, easier to find things and usually less busy! Plus there’s a liquor store, weed store and a gas station plus carwash. A one stop shop!

  • Stephen Vermeulen

Very good place for groceries in Calgary. This location has a bit more selection than the Brentwood location, but it is a bit smaller than the Crowfoot location.

  • Zinc Orange

I accidentally left my phone there and someone and the staff were kind enough to contact me and return it before I drove back to Banff where I live. Many Thanks!

  • F Shah

Please fix your car wash layouts. In one year at two different locations both my wheels got scrapped by the curbs. I’m never using your locations ever again.

  • Aaron van Weenen

Creepy old man keeps following me around without doing any shopping or otherwise seeming to have any buisiness at the store. Ruins an otherwise great store.

  • Arlene Blake

I've shopped here for over 2 decades, they have always had customer service and quality products front of mind. And it takes me 6 minutes to walk there :)

  • Thuy La

I like Co-op Dalhousie so much. Their service is the best. My family has been in this store for more than 10 years and much appreciated for their help.

  • Doug Hollies

Sale on good quality meats. Oranges for $1/lb. I was the only person at the till. Very friendly cashier. All that and very obvious COVID 19 Protocols.

  • Wil Garth

We had Gloria as our cashier! She was great! Telling jokes to bring peoples spirits up and so positive. Wish everyone would be like that. Thank you!

  • mark romano

So disorganized, no employee was helpful or knew where things were. And surprisingly didn't have much of the items I usually get at another co-op.

  • Danielle Pertle

Cindy was horrible. Super rude. She was rude to the other employees Josh and nikolas. Someone needs to train her a lot better. She is so ignorant

  • Doug Waugh

Good value and friendly service. Regular prices are a bit higher than some stores but their sales are excellent and the produce is always fresh.

  • Zach Lawrence

Fanciest Co-op in town. They have everything you need here. Sure a little much pricey than a superstore but they have a much better selection

  • Jill L

So many great options. They have lots of local products, gluten free, vegan and different things that other grocery stores don't usually have

  • Moe Eladawy

Good store love their fresh vegetables and fruits. They've also got an international section with baba ganoush, tahini, halva and lots more.

  • Christopher St. Louis

Fresh produce always. Nice organic health section. Everyone that works there is friendly. They even carry your bags for you. Lots of deals.

  • Gerry Thornton

Covid friendly helpful staff except for lady at deli counter..other staff had to tell her to turn around 3 customers waiting for service.

  • Heather Stower

The cashier we had today was very rude and full of attitude. Almost everything she put in the bag, ended up ripping a hole in the bag.

  • Christina Jupo

I love the friendly neighbourhood feel to this shop that offers many unadvertised deals and is a peaceful, convenient place to shop.

  • Anastacia Aoki

Great grocery. It’s never packed so you can shop at ease. They also sell the freshest Bok Choy amongst the groceries in Calgary.

  • Edward James

This is a food store Very nice facility clean presentable, washrooms are very clean very organized great co-op to shop at it's a

  • Roger Pelletier

Great selection of food items. The products are shelved to facilitate timely shopping. Very well stocked with plenty of variety.

  • Jetta Pulido

They only had two tills open so used the self check-out and even that was a pain. Had to have the person reset the till twice.

  • Roberto Perez

Nice large selection of groceries, cleaning supplies and other necessities. Helpful knowledgeable staff. Nice fast checkout.

  • Adam Lakusta

This co-op is awesome. Friendly workers, high quality produce, and always a ton of sales. My pick for a local grocery store.

  • J Mak

Been coming to this co-op since I was a kid growing up in the neighborhood. Friendly staff, top quality produce and meats.

  • Jen H

Clean, and well stocked. Little bit pricier than other grocers but good quality. Rarely have to stand in a line to pay.

  • Leeky Sweek

Some folks really like this place. It is clean and they do have carryout services available. Can be quite pricy though.

  • Lynn M

This location is much smaller than many other Co-ops. The deli is in need of an update so there can be more options

  • Mathew Greenwood

Great service even though the debit machines were down they kept up with the customers easily. Really friendly!

  • Michael P. Liebekraft

Older store. But staff is friendly, checkouts are fast and courteous. Missing some selections, because of size.

  • Dale Moore

Great place for quick grocery shopping. Layout could be better. Difficult to figure where some products are.

  • Michaela Redding

Someone give Gloria a raise - best cashier experience I think I have ever seen - 5 stars just for her jokes

  • Neil D

Huge selection of wine and spirits, excellent beer selection. The Co-op Wine stores are second to none.

  • Vikki Perkins

Good local grocery store with pharmacy. Small but has all the basics plus more. Good deli and bakery.

  • Gary Lambert

Nice store, clean and well organized. Limited selection of some items, smaller than some other Co-ops

  • Debbie Pugh

Trying to get use to this pharmacy staff. Only transferred over as Naveed works out of this one now.

  • Billyjoe Ellis

Little pricey for food. Some staff could use some training on how to be more customer approachable.

  • Rahat Jafri

Everything is more, much more expensive than other stores. I would prefer superstore over this.

  • Scott Adams

Huge selection. Very nice decor. Great sale prices on popular items if you watch their flier.

  • Wil H

Great people but the the revamp that alot of other Co-ops have gone through is long overdue

  • Speshul Kay

I love this Co-op. Very helpful nice staff. Well stocked store. Prices on the higher side.

  • Ki

They have a decent selection of veggie frozen foods, more than the brentwood location.
