We were quite disappointed. They only have a deli available and not a restaurant menu. The staff is friendly. The deli prices is so expensive and the options are very limited. The few options of products available was out of stock by 11h30 with one piece each of the left overs. It is very EXPENSIVE. If you are going for a picnic on the grass, then you will have to be prepared to fork out a hell of a lot for a few bites to eat. If you have kids that wants to play on the grass, then this place is for you. The kids can play and have a coffee or wine tasting, but I think eat somewhere else before you go there. You will be disappointed if wanted to sit down for a meal.

Upset stomach! This 930am breakfast was my first and only meal of the day until I got home at 1130 where immediately my stomach was very badly upset. The logical explanation is the wooden boards on which my food was served without and “paper” or other covering. The boards were full of cut marks which you would expect from daily use. Wooden boards are definitely not food-safe!! I wish that restaurants would understand that wood is a perfect environment for things like salmonella - even if you wash them. Health department please note. If you go to The Dairy Shed, I strongly recommend asking for a proper plate. Lovely venue, great food and friendly staff - pity the experience ended with me in bed and on rehydrates.

  • Brandon Labuschagne

I popped in at the Dairy Shed for a quick coffee and breakfast during one of my mountain biking trips. The atmosphere is great, the coffee is amazing and the food is incredible! I had a flat white with a rocket, cheese and ham croissant all for under R50 - such good value for money! The only reason that I rate 4 instead of 5 stars is that it's self service and you have to order at the counter which means carrying your own coffee back to your table - after my cycle there I was already a bit shaky and ended up messing a bit of my coffee on the way back to my table. It would have added to the experience if there were waitors to come and serve you.

Beautiful play area and setting for kids! It's enclosed and has everything you need to have a great time with busy little ones. Well maintained grass, swings, jungle gym, slide, sand pit with toys provided, trees for shade and picnic benches inside the actual play area which is nice. It was windy in Cape Town today but this area was quite well protected and pleasant. Deluxe coffee and carrot cake from The Dairy Shed is . It would be great if they could add more vegetarian options to their menu.

We arrived with our two boston terriers but had to turn around, hungry and disappointed. There is so much space that the owners can easily create a separate fenced in place where owners with dogs can sit, similar to the kids play area. We had to drive out again and stop in Philadelphia where we could get something to east and that allowed us with our dogs on their leashes on our way to Citrusdal. Please also consider the dog owners and maybe put a big sign off the main road so we do not drive all the way for nothing :-(

Some of the best coffee and carrot cake to be found. It's always a great place to stop for a quick refuel during a mountain bike ride at Conterman's kloof trails.

The weather was lovely today, ideal to stop by and enjoy some fresh air, at this farm setting. We enjoyed their cappuccino and fresh, delicious, moist carrot cake!

Well enclosed outdoor play area for young children, with grass, sand and a jungle gym, as well as picnic benches.

Gorgeous scenery and setting. The young man taking the orders when we visited may benefit from a customer service course. The other service was good. We ordered French Toast and it was delicious. Coffee is very good as well. Great venue for a function. Super mountain biking spot as well. Fabulous furry friends - hard not to spoil them with food, but the sign says not to. Worth a visit.

If you want a out of the city experience this is the place you are looking for. It is situated on Contermans Kloof farm and is mostly frequented by mountian bikers doing the routes there. (Which is awesome by the way) They have a beatiful play area for kids as well. Seeting is mostly outside so not great for bad weather days. Small but sufficient menu and I like the coffee as well.

  • Christo Linde

Great place for some craft beer and pizza. They also do wines and soft drink. Coffee obviously in the shed. They have mountain bike tracks and a big enclosed play area for the kids. Place is very well setup with a band/ guitar player on Saturdays (haven't been there on a Sunday). They don't do spirits so no Brandy and Cokes!

Absolutely love the place. They make the Best home made carrot cake. Coffee is delicious. Some really good food and breakfast. Cycle on mtb routes towards the shop is absolutely rewarding if you have time. Recently they added a playpark for the kiddies if you wanna drive by car. Staff always friendly. Lots off mountainbikers visit shop for cooldown after riding some trails.

This place just has such a fantastic vibe! It mostly caters to cyclists that use the Contermanskloof trails. You walk in there as strangers and you walk out as friends. Delicious coffee and carrot cake, but please share the latter with a friend!! Staff are amazing. Lots of space to put bicycles.

  • Aaron

Great café; amazingly good coffee - Cape Town has a lot of places that do coffee but the Dairy Shed gets it right pretty much every cup. Their carrot cake is lovely, the atmosphere is awesome and best of all you can cycle there on your choice of a road or over a mountain …

  • Brendan Keogh

Perfect halfway drop in the MTB for a morning cup of expertly brewed cortado. Spat great for fantastic lunch options, a playground for the little kids and a beer garden nestled in the trees for the big kids.

If you want to leave the hustle and bustle of the city and go to a farm atmosphere, have a cup of good coffee and a light snack, this is the perfect spot. The food is served as for takeaway, but there is seating both inside and outside.

  • Marc De Decker

Authentic farm experience, with uniquely rustic and not yet commercialized approached that is true to it’s centuries old heritage. Awesome trails for any skill of mountainbiker but no trail running folks! Food is great and the coffee is

  • Hein Kershoff

Was our halfway stop on our cycling trip, apparently the chocolate milkshakes are great, i had a nice americano, they don't have a huge variety on offer, but everything we ordered incl snacks was great, and you can pay with snapscan.

  • Cobus F. Potgieter

Coffee not too wonderful, but arguably the best carrot cake in the Western Cape. Great place to hang out and get refreshments after using the hiking or mountain bike trails. Beautiful scenery with rolling hills.

  • Desmond Lloyd

Interesting. Very agricultural which was expected. Very popular with cyclists. My omelete was great, but the coffee was cold. Service slow and unreliable. But still a pleasant morning spent with friends

  • Willem Basson

The Starks know how to make an excellent flat white. Great atmosphere, a real oasis in the middle of the Tygerberg Mountain bike club trails. Reserving the last star for when they start serving beer.

  • Glenda van Eck

Disappointing visit. Choice is limited and you can only order take aways then find a spot to eat. No sitting service. Bery popular with mountain bikers who are more than happy with the order and go

  • R dT

Big portions of good food, fairly priced. Excellent barista on duty, serving a perfect, out of the book, Flat White. Being outside, being summer, fly swats should be available on the tables.

  • Johan Nilsson

I have had the cappuchino a few times; it is good and I will have it again. Of the food I have only tried the muffins and they are just OK. I don't know about the other items on the menu.

  • Mike Yiannakis

it is ok ! off the beating track and the menu is very small it is more for mountain bikers they have a small setup for children to play in.
