This supermarket is good. This Coles has the same goods as all the other Coles. It needs to be a bit warmer in there as the turn the temperature down a lot, as I think they want to preserve the food. I think the staff thinks it's too cold as well. The specials are different all the time. Sometimes the coke is on special for half price, but that is only every now and then. Staff are friendly and are quite helpful if you need help. The delicatessen has a good range of cheeses and cold cuts. The produce is quite fresh and there’s a good selection of vegetables to choose from. The fish section is fresh all the time and you can get some good fish there. There’s a good range of fish to choose from and the fish are fresh. When the shrimp on are on special, I like to buy a few kilos and put them in the freezer. The meat section is okay. You can ask the butcher if they have any specials as well because they will know whats on special and what’s available. The milk and dairy section ha a good range as well, you can get lactose free milk if you can’t handle lactose. The yogurt range is quite extensive and you have plenty of brands to choose from. I find the fridge section has a wide range of frozen products from pizzas to pies. The poultry is on special sometimes, and you can get a good buy. All in all, I think it’s a decent Coles. So can recommend you shop here.
Reading some of these one star reviews, I wonder if any of them have ever been to a supermarket before. Prices aren't exclusive to just this one Coles. Staff are very friendly and range of goods is pretty good. They do run out of produce by end of week, so there is a slight supply problem for some vegetables (fruit and other items seem to be fine - rarely see any other items out of stock). They do have an issue with the lines and self-service tellers would help this. There is at max 2 lines ever open (one also mans the cigarette counter) and if there are two people doing large shopping runs at the same time you could a bit (but seriously Ive never seen these cashiers be slow). But 90% of the time you wait no more than 3 minutes before your up. Parking is an issue because of the school being next door so I try to avoid going around 2.30-3pm on weekdays. But this is a local supermarket, nothing fancy, it does the job and there are a dozen more around the area if you don't like it. Really convenient if you are going to one of the several takeaway restaurants and don't want to pay crazy prices for drinks.
Honestly the rudest staff I have ever come across from a grocery store. I have never had a friendly or welcoming experience here. The older women, who seem to clearly hate their jobs and customers, speak to other staff or customers (I'm assuming friends) whilst serving you, and don't even acknowledge you as their customer. They are some of the rudest women in customer service. If you aren't even going to put on a smile or at least fake a "hello how are you?" Then do another job. I've worked in customer service plenty of times and never was I taught that was okay, and never did I treat customers that way.
Terrible customer service by Katherine (check-out lady). I went shopping at Coles today and Katherine was engaged in conversation with the previous customer throughout our entire “interaction”. She did not say hi, ask how I would like to pay (cash/card), whether I had FlyBuys, or if I wanted a receipt. After the sale, she then started a new conversation with the customer after me. Katherine completely ignored me during this shop and acted like I wasn’t even there or a customer. Management should consider improving their customer service standards so that each customer leaves satisfied.
The worst place to ever do your shopping very rude and disrespectful. Tonight I want to do my shopping and after scamming all my items and I did my payment the moment I was walking out Aimee and the girl wearing the cheapest and worst glasses start to laugh so loud in the store for no damn reason that makes me so sick and very disappointing and disgusting. Workers are never friendly always grumpy and rude. No wonder why my neighbours always shopping at Woolworth. I’m definitely going to start doing home shopping from Woolworth.
Just be careful to buy meat and fish and all fridge stuff. I had a very bad experience the meat and salmon both were rotten. We were surprised to see the rude behavior of the store manager, she was not listening to the problem and ignoring us. I have a pictures of meat and salmon as well. They refunded amount of salmon. But Managers behavior was unbearable. Im their regular customer and almost buy everything from coles west pennant Hills but today I'm very disappointed. I will not buy their meat products anymore.
The store is old and dilapidated. Parking is very difficult and sometimes dangerous. Most staff are very good. Some are awful. There is one store supervisor who seems to spend a lot of time smoking opposite the toilets in the car park. Some of the checkout assistants lick their fingers when handling groceries so they can get the plastic bags off the racks. It's not very hygienic and I've asked politely for them to wash hands but they refuse. If you see them lick their fingers please ask them to stop.
I’m a regular at this coles and although it is an old store with a carpark full of potholes, I always do my shopping here because of the excellent staff. The checkout people are always friendly and i always enjoy a conversation with Ollie or Aimee. Matthew and Dylan from the fruit and veg section are always friendly and willing to help. I’ve never had an issue with any of the staff, they are all professional and friendly. 5/5 customer service at this coles
Not the best Coles Supermarket out there, that's for sure. I would never do my weekly shopping here... Its a small store compared to most other supermarkets these days. The fruit and veg section is very small which is my major gripe, and the quality of produce isn't that great. Ok to top up groceries for the week, but I wouldn't recommend it for a big shop. I'm not sure why it hasn't been rennovated... It seems a busy store.
In the past two weeks I have been to Coles, one particular staff member has been very nice to me and his name is Paul. His customer service has been amazing and he is always there when you need him. When I need help I can count on Paul to help me lift heavy boxes to my car and it is very appreciated. He is very nice and his work should be appreciated and should be acknowledged
Local coles shop, one of the smaller ones you see around. Not overly huge, has a small deli and cooked chucks. Plus everything you might need (probably not stocked as much with all brands). Good for popping into to grab something, if you doing a 'big' shop where you want multiple choices I recommend going to a bigger coles. But overall good, clean.
Award goes to the smallest Coles in town with a superb collection of pot holes and narrow parking to test your skills. In all seriousness, if you're heading back to castle hill road turning right from the stop sign....Do not forget to LOOK ON YOUR LEFT. It's so easy to miss it and prone to accidents.
Terrible for parking during school hours as there's a school next door & the parents take up the parking areas so there's few spots left for the actual shoppers. It's an okay supermarket - has everything I need. The whole centre is very run down though & reminds me of an outback/country style centre.
A pretty average supermarket to be honest. Not a lot of range of produce and goods and the inside is drab and stuck in the 70's. Handy if you need to pick up bread and milk as parking is easy. Not many other shops around it, but a couple of good take away places. The Thai place is particularly good.
It's a small Coles, the hours are short and the parking is annoying. To get to this Coles if you're heading the opposite direction, you need to go around the block, twice! This is no real fault of the Coles though, and as a store I don't have much negative to say about it other than it's small size.
Your average suburban Coles. The car park spaces are a bit tight, so often times you can fit a trolley between parked cars. Staff are good, and range is decent, but could be better. At time of writing, they only have the "hot" version of dumpling sauce, and not the normal version.
Very rude service at express checkout. I got sent away to line up at other register with only 4 items behind a trolley full of stuff. No apologies even after I made a comment as I was hoping to get a quick service. Prices not very cheap either when it comes to salmon and meat.
It's a neat Coles, however, it's quite it is quite small, there are no self-service checkouts and there are some limitations in terms of what's available there. It's good for a quick shop but select a larger Coles if you're after something a bit out of the ordinary stuff.
Tried to do my shopping at 11:30am on a Tuesday and couldn't find a park ANYWHERE and had to go to Woolies in Thornleigh instead. I mean, the store itself is ok, service somewhat delayed (but I understand that) and the stock levels appear to be good. Just no parking :-(!!
Worst Coles in Australia. Poorly stocked, no self serve checkout and rude staff who accused me of lying when I tried to use a gift card and the transaction was declined but money still came off the card (instead of checking the system and realising there was an error).
Small and old Coles so stocks are sometimes limited. Though most of the essential are there if you need it. Note - sometimes the vegetables aren't very fresh The older cashier lady never smile at customer so don't expect any good service there if she's serving you!
Very nice staff but there appears to be supply/delivery issues. There ve been many times that certain products where missing from shelves. Basic items such eggs could be out of stock. Finding a parking spot is always easy and never gets overly crowded.
Pros - lovely staff. Cons - the carpark is a mess with enormous potholes. Trolleys cannot be used without coins. I don't carry cash, so I couldn't buy what I couldn't carry. All the fresh food fridges were dark & looked as if they were out of order.
Easy access for us, as we live nearby it’s just that some staff aren’t really friendly! They need to emprove a good customer service, coles management do something about it! I’m not talking about all the staffs, i am talking about a couple of them.
Go to castle hill coles much better. This coles closes way too early . Never any stock on shelves, understaffed under stocked, make multiple trips a week with the same result no stock. Self serve check out machines play up constantly and no
Utterly appalling service at Coles Pennant Hills this afternoon. I'm always up for a chat. A young man (Mitch) on the check out conversed with the customer before me, a young women around his age who I believe was a work colleague, then
Unless Coles decide to renovate this store there isn't any point coming here, hasn't changed in the last 10yrs. Parking is a pain as it is located right next to a school and also needs to cater to all the businesses located there.
Waited 5 mins in a line. 14 customers with less than 10 items each. No self serve. On the way out. SHUT IT DOWN! Or invest in customer service. The rating is actually zero. Pity busy times! Ha! Expect better from train service!
It's a good branch of coles, so if live around, it's perfect for your daily purchases, but as it's a small one, they run out of stock for some items faster than big branches. The staff are very professional and kind.
I was asked to cover a few security night shifts there.. it has to be one of the best coles out there, the staff were very nice and friendly… Highly recommended Also thanks to Oliver, Amy, Kath and Alicia✊
Conveniently located supermarket, although the size is small. Usually well stocked and had lots of specials. Parking can sometimes be difficult due to the other businesses in the vicinity. The staff are friendly.
A friend of mine told me that it reminds him of the Coles in Turramurra. I thought it looked like the one in Asquith. The staff at the checkouts are quite cool. Also it’s my local Coles to my house …
Smaller supermarket than usual without self serve check out which causes delays during peak periods. Parking is also at a stretch with no overhead cover for rainy days. Staff are efficient and friendly.
There are no auto checkouts. I had 1 item to purchase, the 1-12 item checkouts were closed and the 3 open checkouts all had people with lots of items. So I had a long wait to purchase my 1 item.
Staff generally very friendly and helpful and store has typical wide range of stock. Carpark is poorly paved and doesn’t have any undercover areas. Trolleys require coin/getting tag from staff.
Bigger than the WPH Woolworths but looking a little dated now. The centre is an eyesore but with potential future development of the area, there's little incentive to do much at this stage.
Never recommend the stuff You're so rude they are Kick me out , very bad and Unprofessional manger. Someone need to be checked And teach them how to be respectful to the customer …
A good little Coles for everyday shopping. Not a massive range as your normal larger coles but enough to get you through . Nice staff and never overly busy so pleasant place to shop.
This is one of the most underwhelming Coles in Sydney. Do us all a favour give this precinct some much needed TLC. The 70's fixtures and fittings are tired and crying for a facelift.
This is my go to on the run. Its functional and that's it. It is WAY overdue for a makeover and must be one of the oldest looking coles in Sydney. Staff are friendly and consistent.
Easy parking, friendly service, sufficient stocks for customers, display products nicely. I'd recommend Coles West Pennant Hills to anyone who wish to shop at a good supermarket.
Great local place to shop, always friendly staff, very modern shopping interior. All under one roof...ample parking. Now with newly installed selfserve checkouts. Fantastic.
If you live in Cherrybrook or West Pennant Hills, this is one of the closest Coles to get to. Catch bus 632 from Cherrybrook Metro Station to the bus stop outside the shops.
Happy to say that this Coles finally has self checkouts. A decently sized local store could do with a facelift but at least it now has self checkouts to speed up the crowds
Love the West Gosford Coles team so much. They've been sponsoring food for the animals in our wildlife sanctuary for 5 years. We couldn't do what we're doing without them.
Just got handed a bag of prawns dripping in prawn juice, bag wasn’t sealed - quite a few of the staff here can’t even be bothered to do the most basic part of their job.
Lots available, always well stocked, friendly staff. Has a delicatessen and fresh produce plus baked goods. No self-service checkouts though. Lots of parking available.
A bit drab, not very well stocked, bakery is poor. Great parking, easy to get to (if you can find the entrance). Coin-operated carts (what a pain and a bit pointless).
A basic store, no frills, understaffed and I can't say you feel welcomed by them. Need bare essentials? Sure - however you'll find limited variety for everything.
Coles Staff will not answer the phone Just stand there and let it ring Very Poor Customer service Come on Coles Manager do something about it Absolutely very poor
Hopelessly understaffed. If you're not going to install self serve checkouts then you have got to have more than 2 registers operating in the middle of the day
Friendly staff. Smaller than other coles and no self service. Gets the job done if in the area, but the roads are a pain if planning to head south afterwards.
Average. Small and a little bit old. Lights need to be upgraded. Parking areas need a lot of attention. The staff are good and friendly.shelves are clean.
Nice enough Coles, good parking and friendly staff. Only ranking down because you need to use a coin in order to get a trolley (who even carries coins).
Great staff. Always helpful and smiling. Small as compared to other Coles but still enough for your needs. No complains ever. Always clean and stocked.
Happy store - one of the better Coles stores , but your specials are in a bad location so I only see them when I walk out!! Has a toilet nearby!!!
The store is old and in need of a major revamp. Always stock issues and you can never get everything you want. Staff are really nice though.
It's the staff that make a supermarket. A smaller older Coles but a great place to visit because the staff are always friendly and helpful.
This is like the store that Coles forgot. It's like walking into a Coles store of about 20-30 years ago. Desperately in need of an uplift.
One of the smallest of Coles Supermarkets in Sydney. So it doesn't have many of the items that the larger Coles supermarkets have.
Something is very wrong with this outlet. Not up there with rest of Coles supermarket. Nothing wrong with the products or produce.
Needs a refit bad no self serve checkouts an the area has out grown this shop do not go if your in hurry, staff are friendly
A quiet visit today for our weekly grocery shop. Excellent friendly customer service today. Car park is cumbersome though.
Smaller footprint supermarket leads to smaller product range and less cashiers but it suits the local community very well.
Be careful if you want buy any cigar, they always give the wrong one.feel so bad about coles.if you want refund they won’t.
Small, sweet but the highlight is the 7 eleven near by, easy access via carpark, 7 eleven includes krispey kreme dounuts.
A decent range of groceries, carpark can be torture during school pickup times. Checkouts can be a bit of a bottleneck.
Service is atrocious and the shops setup is so confusing it will give you a migraine trying to find the basic of items
Although I wish they had self serve sometimes as it can get a little busy the staff are always friendly and efficient
Good supermarket -- small but adequate, with lots of free parking. Often have stock other supermarkets don't have.
Checking Coles reduced items, @5pm. A definite saving when the kids come home. Please don't get in my way. lol
very bad and lazy store manger. on duty on 18 Feb. 2013 at 2 to 3 o'clock. ignore the enquiry and do nothing
Plenty of parking, easy to miss entry from the main road. Small store, but it has most things you would need
Small supermarket with a good selection, close by to several good takeaway shops, liquor land and 7 eleven.
Good place to purchase basic groceries, you can find more or less everything here, only Coles in this area
There's something not quite right about this place compared to other Coles. The produce is far from fresh.
Handy supermarket if you live in the area. Not the best range and the carpark can be a bit feral at times.
Very busy. Express lane closed. I had two items to purchase. Might have been quicker to go to Woolworths.
Good, clean store. Not too big with plenty of variety . Friendly staff with reasonable amount of parking.
Quite a small Coles. Recently renovated, but the car park and surrounding business strip are a bit dated
Good and have most stuff available. Would be great if they have a bakery section and more food options.
Well stocked and tidy. Parking can be an issue around school times as it right next to a public school.
I use to live at pennant hills not far from my parents home by car up to Coles , just easy to park .
Great local supermarket! Plenty of specials and often things on half price! Will return regularly.
Coined trolley, self service never available, not very much variety of fruits, but friendly staffs
Very handy shop on the way from picking the kids up from school. Plenty of parking. Nice staff.
This is a huge coles. What ever you need, I can guarantee they have it. Staff are friendly too.
Very clean, decent variety. Friendly staff and management. Parking can be a little tricky
Bakery is bad. No fresh stock early in the morning. When they open nothing is available.
Small and convenient Coles. The range is limited but it is usually quiet in the evenings
Great staff who really care about their customers and coworkers. What an amazing team.
Price incorrectly marked. My fault apparently because I didn't read the smaller print.
Average selection, tired storefront and aisles, parking lot needs an immediate repave
Check the use by date. We were charged full price for milk that expires in two days.
Convenient supermarket, nothing has changed. Wish they install self serve check outs
Handy parking and though it as a slightly limited range it's got everything we need
Long queues as there are limited registers available with no option to self-serve.
Watch the fresh produce here because it isn't staff not helpful boarding on rude.
Needs self-checkout, bit out of date furnishings and such too. Otherwise fine.
Nearest convenience store. Spacious with self weighing and paying facilities.
