First timer!!! and let me tell you, I absolutely love it!!. I ordered a blueberry cream cheese danish and it BLEW MY MIND!!! It was $6 and DEFINITELY worth it. The Danish was super fluffy and soft, the sweetness of the cream was perfect and the blueberries were deliciously fresh. I could eat this every morning for breakfast with my coffee and not care about the calories*chefs kiss all the way around* I also had the pleasure of sampling the Iced Sin Nombre Latte and it was very very delicious.. Starbucks who? Commonwealth Coffeehouse is A MUST TRY!!! The service was amazing, the cashier was very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. He had an awesome personality and was very welcoming(I love great customer service). If you're in the San Antonio area please swing by the Commonwealth Coffeehouse for great coffee, amazing pastries and awesome vibes!!

Cute historic home conversion right in the heart of San Antonio. Easy to access but not a lot of parking. There are a few 30 minute parallel spots in front of the building, but longer term parking is in a paid garage next door. The ambience is very inviting with an open kitchen space and seating in the front, back and inside. Their coffee was yummy with some unique flavor combinations- I got a spiced Caramel white chocolate iced mocha latte at 1/2 sweet and it was delicious!! The quiche Lorraine was OK. The crust was not light and flaky l, and the cheese seemed like shredded. On the other hand, the chocolate cinnamon roll was lovely. Soft in the middle, a good balance of cinnamon and chocolate. Definitely a place worth checking out! I'll be back to try some other dishes for sure :)

One of the first things I do when traveling is find my go to coffee shop. I almost chose not to visit CommonWealth because it's a mile away from my hotel and I'm walking. But I'm glad I did! With only 30 minutes to walk there before they closed, I arrived with a few minutes to spare. Arriving as a place is closing is usually a recipe for terrible service. However, the staff at CommonWealth was extremely kind, welcoming, and hospital as they sat me inside and served me a great sandwich and cappuccino. As they were closing, they asked if I wanted the pastries left over from the day, rather than throwing them out. Everything from the quaint ambiance, to the food, and the service were exceptional. I'll be back for my daily coffee, well worth the mile walk each way! Helps work off the pastries ;-)

Great location with really peaceful and relaxing ambiance both in and outdoors. The staff were really outgoing and friendly. The food here was really good and the presentations are really nice. The coffee was really good! My only complaint would be timeliness on food. It was a tad long, and the eggs were kind of on the cold side. We all have off days, so I wouldn't let it discourage me from coming back here again. The menu has some really great offerings that made making a decision difficult to settle on. I wanted 3 different breakfast items and a lunch item.

Came here for Sunday morning brunch. I ordered a caramel latte (hot) and the hand and cheese sandwich with béchamel on croissant. Both were absolutely delicious. The sandwich can with a side salad. The employees were super nice. The inside was super modern with hints of farms house chicken pictures etc.). $15 total for both. There is also outdoor seating as well. With a park nearby this would be a great place to grab a coffee and go for a walk. Overall highly recommend this brunch spot. If i lived in the area, so would be a frequent customer.

When walking downtown, we happened upon the Commonwealth Coffeehouse and decided to stop for lunch. We were happy we did! The food was delicious! My sister had an omelette, my nephew had French toast, and I had the breakfast tacos with egg and spinach. The eggs were so fluffy! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very relaxed but still nice. If you sit outside, you feel like you're sitting in your backyard. They serve mimosas and wine (I think beer, but I'm not sure. My sister saw someone with a beer bottle, so it's possible). I'd definitely recommend this coffeehouse!

Coffee and breakfast are always great here. Gave the 4 because the coffee game is tough. I would go to commonwealth anytime. We have just had exceptional coffee. This place has wonderful baked goods, coffee is consistent, and the staff are very kind. Breakfast croissant, iced vanilla latte, and a hot latte with simple syrup in the photos. Comfortable seating. Beautiful outdoor area when the weather is nice. Definitely worth a stop if looking for good food and coffee.

Such a Dream! Delicious coffee, great view, wonderful pastry smell, and delicious breakfast. Commonwealth creates a home away from home feel at all their locations, from the china to the decor. The breakfast tacos are the most adorable and filling in the city; and the lattes are made well-balanced, and not too sweet. This located in Hemisfair Park, close to the '68 apartments, across the street from the Fairmount Hotel, and about a 7 minute walk from the Riverwalk.

Delicious Father’s Day Brunch with our daughter’s. The vanilla latte was terrific, the French toast was amazing, the breakfast taco was yummy and the omelette sandwich was delicious! We sat outside enjoyed having a covered umbrella patio and the outdoor ambience is relaxing.

I'm only in town for a few days and found this place near my hotel. I ordered the avocado toast, which was loaded with avocado, and it was delicious! It was well seasoned, and the bread was toasty. I didn't take pics of the other dishes, but heard the croissants were amazing! This is a really cute coffeehouse with good food and coffee/lattes. Way better than whats served at my hotel. I'll be back tomorrow!

Got a delicious iced latte one of the better ones I’ve had in San Antonio. Also a very fresh tasting turkey avocado sandwich. Was able to study and do work there for serval hours and there was never too much noise. A great environment to work in, as they have an indoor and outdoor area. Had very cheap street parking right but as well as a garage near by.

There was a long line when we got there around 10a on a Saturday. We had breakfast tacos, and a pastry with Nutella and strawberries. I had a caramel latte with oat milk my husband had a chai latte with oat milk. I really enjoyed my breakfast tacos which were chorizo and the one with veggies. The coffee was perfectly blended and pleasing to the eye. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because we couldn’t find a clean table and had to do our best to clean one off ourselves.

Long wait to order and just as long for food to arrive. ABSOLUTELY no system for sitting or ordering it’s literally a free for all. If it’s busy (we went around 12:30), you are on your own to try and get a table when someone gets up, doesn’t matter how long you have been waiting! Now to the food. The food looks very nice but taste very bland. My photos look very sad, if you look closely you can see the food asking for help . So if you are into looks more than taste then this is for you, pinky up style!

This is a really good coffee place! They made great recommendations, food was delicious! Coffee was also just as great! The person taking our order was exceptionally helpful! I will highly recommend the almond croissant - buttery, delicious and just a hint of sweet! This place is a must visit!

I love coffee and I’ve been to a LOT of cafes. I am very impressed with the quality and flavor of this spot’s coffee! I ordered the spiced caramel white mocha and that can be easily mishandled as being too creamy. Not the case here! It was a perfect amount of sweet and spice. I wish I live in the area because I’ll definitely come back again and again.

This is a must every time we are in SA. Our favorite is the Cuban sandwich. According to my son it’s the best he’s ever had and I agree with him. The place is cozy and clean, always a great experience.

Beautiful location, with great coffee and delicious looking food and pastries. I came here to work and was not disappointed. The music wasn’t to loud, the atmosphere was rustic and beautiful, and the service was wonderful. The coffee was pretty good too. They also have a very nice outdoor seating area, right next to a little park. Will definitely come back to work here.

Shared the Nutella crepe and the breakfast croissant. Very yummy stuff. Coffee was also very good. Problem is they really give you a ton of single use plastic and paper stuff when they could use more reusable. Anyway, totally recommend but won’t give full five stars cause of the apparent lack of interest for being green.

Nice quaint spot for decent coffee and a good quick bite to eat. The croissant sandwiches are big and filling. There are multiple protein options. The coffee isn't bad but is a little weak. I'd recommend adding an extra shot of espresso. Very cute place.

Great spot for coffee. Love the vibe in here. They have a nice indoor and outdoor seating. The pastries were really good especially the yummy croissants. I really enjoyed it! They make good coffee as well. They have a nice selection of food too if you’d like something more filling. Highly recommend this place!
