Have used this pharmacy a few times without absolutely any problems. Quite the opposite staff have always been friendly and polite. However, today I had to deal with a very rude pharmacist who refused to apply for my repeat prescription from the GP even though this is my designated pharmacy. He told me that they are not obliged to do it and that I should do it myself. Not only did he not seem happy to do his job but his tone and demeanor were outright rude. I asked for a way to complain against this member of staff but was told that he is the owner!!! There is no way for me to verify this but, just saying... He then in a state of anger came over to me to force me to wear a face mask even though I told him that I am exempt and told me that I cannot stay in the pharmacy without a face mask (presumably, this was not a problem before he heard that I intend to complain about the service and attitude he displayed). Compare this man's behaviour to what it says on Alphega pharmacy's website: "As a leading European network of independent pharmacies, Alphega Pharmacy prides itself on the role it plays in your local community. Our friendly, professional Pharmacy team takes the time to understand your health and wellbeing needs before offering solutions or advice. And we’ll always explain things in a simple and helpful way." I will not be using this pharmacy again, goes without saying and do not recommend to others. Such individuals do not have a place in the local community nor on the professional or healthcare scene. UPDATE: The supposed response from the Pharmacy is wrong. They never requested my prescription from the GP. They refused to do it. This is the point. I have switched to Tesco pharmacy since where there hasn't been the slightest of problem. They are always happy to liaise with the GP and get the eye drops as well as other medication that I have been prescribed. They are always professional. Also, the regulation about face coverings at the time allowed for exemptions, such as mine. Other than aggression, there is no other excuse for your staff/owner's behaviour. Your response re-enforces the image of lack of professional integrity that I experienced on my final visit there and I have not been back since.
No stars from me, not even one! (had to give them this 1 star as the comment can not be posted otherwise) I had corona and had no one to get my regular weekly medications so I phoned Cootes Pharmacy to see if they can deliver. The boss (the same man that a lady underneath is complaining about being very rude) has answered the phone and told me straight and short that they don't deliver. Not knowing how to get my medications I phoned the Doctor's surgery to see how can the problem be sorted out as without my regular medications, including sleeping pills, I go through a hell. The lady at Doctors surgery reception told me: "But, the Cootes Pharmacy delivers". I was surprised as the boss of the Cootes Pharmacy has just minutes ago straight out lied to me that they don't deliver. So I phoned the Cootes pharmacy again and it was the boss that picked the phone up again. After telling him that the surgery says that they (Cootes pharmacy) do deliver medications he told me: "No! Not to you! We don't deliver to people with corona virus" and put the phone down on me. The panic set in as without my medications I deteriorate fast, within just a day or two and had attempted suicide in the past. After about an hour of panic and not knowing how to sort out the problem I thought to phone the Cootes pharmacy again in hope that they will show some understanding and just deliver/leave the medications in front of my door and I will collect them when they are at a safe distance from me so not to pass the corona virus on the delivery person. A lady employee answered the phone this time and at the moment when her boss realized that she is talking to me she was ordered to put the phone down. She sounded uncomfortable when telling me: "Sorry, I am ordered to put the phone down". Have experienced Cootes pharmacy boss's wife rudeness too, but I just wanted to let people know of my experience. I would NOT AGAIN get my medications from Cootes pharmacy! They have lied to me, been rude and have refused to deliver medications because I had covid virus, even it could have been safely delivered.
I booked in for a PExpo (londontesting.co.uk) "PCR Fit to Fly Test" ahead of a holiday to Morocco and selected Cootes pharmacy as my location. After booking, I started to panic as I read lots of bad reviews at PExpo and became so anxious. Some reviews said their results never came and Pexpo was a total scam, others said their results were late and they missed their flights etc. Our flight was 6:30am Wednesday and the test could be taken no earlier than 48 hours of boarding so we booked for 9am on Monday and selected the next day service. We arrived at Cootes and took the test - the testing area are based in little rooms at the back of the pharmacy that are clean, bright and the staff member was nice. The tester told me that the "next day service" meant the results would be sent out between 17:00 and 21:00 on Tuesday - this felt close to the wire as we would be boarding 12 hours later and if they didn't come, it would be the middle of the night and we'd have no way of getting another one done. Anyway, I am delighted because less than 12 hours after taking the test the results have arrived - even though we did a next day service they came say day at 18:00 hours... 24 hours earlier than they were due. I am sooo relieved and now know I can look forward to the holiday knowing that I will be able to board the plane! Thanks PExpo (and Cootes pharmacy!) TIP: The specimens are collected from the pharmacy at midday (and I think at another point later in the day)... so if you are pushed for time I would recommend getting a pre-midday test slot so you make that midday collection.
AVOID… Not impressed with the service here at all. When attending the Pharmacy today, the lady behind the counter was extremely rude and unhelpful. Her customer service is shocking. If you don’t like your job, I suggest you find something else rather than take it out on your customers. I don’t expect to be made to feel uncomfortable for simply asking a question. She did not know what to recommend me and then rolled her eyes at me, whilst huffing and puffing with her nonchalance and obnoxious attitude, all because I simply requested for her to check the medication with the Pharmacist. Highly unacceptable behaviour, which resulted in me walking out. It is not the first time this lady has been rude to me either. I instead went to Pickles Pharmacy to make my purchase and have now transferred my prescriptions to them, because the team there are far more friendly and professional.
Ripping off be careful about them. The WORST place I have ever been. I knew they sell the over the counter products much more expensive than other pharmacies. I've been near there and thought let's buy eye drop medicine here and go somewhere else and compare them and after that refund it. My guess was right the difference was too far in one product £7 and another one £8 so I came back to refund these products. The lady told they don't refund due to covid and it is written in the receipt after purchase. Totally misleading, as I know this trick has been revealed so many years ago as per England so many case law, they should have put a readable sign on the counter that product in here is not refundable. Otherwise I would never get ripped off. I wish someone could control over these places so that clients like me would have never been treated like that.
This is my regular pharmacy and I have never had a problem till today went to collect my prescription and when I got home to sort out my medications I saw they have given me someone else’s prescription this is unacceptable as I shouldn’t need to check if it is mine as they asked for your postcode to confirm that you are the patient; now I have to wait till Monday to get my correct prescription and what is most annoying is that I bet when I go there they are gonna say there’s no prescription for me even though my GP has already sent the prescription electronically to Cootes for it to be distributed… this is gonna be a nightmare to rectify
Hello, I found this pharmacy after trying other ones, my english is not very good and it is very hard for me to explain my problems when I visit a pharmacy. English is not only my problem but many other people in finchley area. I heard from a friend that this pharmacy have an iranian pharmacist who could speak farsi and help me. She is a gem and welcomed me and spoke to me very nicely, I was very comfortable talking about my problem with her and will advice all my friend and family and church members to go to this pharmacy because they care for people from their heart.
I have been using this pharmacy for 3 years now .It is well laid out , spacious and very well stocked with both the general medium priced and the slightly higher quality brands. The skin care section is of particular note as it has a full range of my favourites, Bioderma and La Roche . One staff member who is outstanding in her advice and recommendations is a particularly gorgeous Iranian lady who has helped me oodles of times . I have been in pharmacies in Spain France , Ireland and Germany and this one is the best of all . So thank you and keep up the good work .
My daughter, who is 8 months pregnant, was collecting a prescription and asked to use the toilet. The pharmacist wouldn't allow her. She explained that it was for her 2.5 year old son who is being toilet trained. He still refused giving some incomprehensible explanation about the dentist sharing their toilet with them. Both my daughter and my grandson were very upset. When you work in the healthcare industry, it's astounding to treat someone with such a lack of compassion. I will not being using Cootes pharmacy again.
Fab experience and the best since I've moved to London with my family and started a business here, the staff are super quick, friendly and respectful. Every time me or my family members visited this branch, not only the prescriptions were ready on time, but superb instruction was given, they have international staff who helps a wide range of people with their native languages which you probably could not find elsewhere. I appreciate your hard work during Covid time and cannot recommend this pharmacy enough.
Lovely customer service at Coates Pharmacy in Finchley. Very helpful and lovely lady Anna, with such a useful and very good advice for health remedies, but also for festive gifts too. Something for everyone and last minute gifts of any kind. There is a huge selection of many things on offers, one can certainly find a bargain. Thank you Anna for being so helpful and welcoming.
Messed up my prescription three times - didn’t have it available on multiple occasions despite being important heart medication. Messed up ordering new ones as well. You’re much better off at Tesco pharmacy nearby. If you do go here make sure you check what you receive is the medication you need as they often forget to put something in the bag if you have more than one.
Each and every Chemist and Staff at this Chemists are welcoming, knowledgeable, value me as an individual and are able to tailor advice individually and guide me through the various NHS pathways available. And always advance me a regular medication if i have been late in requesting from my excellent GP ,Dr Fernandes at Woodlands Medical Centre N2
This is a nearby pharmacy which I thought was dependable but beware. The pharmacist at Cootes dispensed expired prescription medicine(out of date over 8 months) for my 1.5 year old. If you are looking to buy medicine, let this be your last option. And at the time of purchase don’t forget to check the expiry dates, because they don’t.
My favourite pharmacy in the area. Very helpful, knowledgeable and efficient pharmacists and plenty of friendly staff. You can phone in advance to check prescriptions are ready and a human picks up promptly - no long automated messages or queues. Very user-friendly. Great customer service. Highly recommended.
The pharmacist and their team are well organised, friendly and knowledgeable. Excellent and easy to use service with fast updates on your order. The pharmacy has a good range of everyday household and personal items. Just brilliant I would recommend this company without hesitation.
The Iranian lady who I asked for advice was so patient and kind! My wife had cut her finger very badly and I was not being very clear but she gave me all the options and calmed me down! Very professional! Am thinking of using them for my prescriptions.
Thank you for a fantastic pharmacist who diagnosed my eye inflammation as being a reaction to my mascara and suggested a product that put it right within 24hrs. I’m especially grateful as I couldn’t get a GP appointment for a week. Many thanks …
A good little pharmacy but annoying that every time I go to pick up my medicine they tell me that it isn’t due. I know when my medicine is running out and my prescription has been provided by the GP so just give me what the doctor has prescribed..
Generally very good and I buy my skincare from here. One of the staff always gives me laroche possy samples to try. Having said that one staff member working there is quite rude which is a shame. I try to avoid her as much as possible.
each time i feel as VIP customer because of staff behaviour specialy one of them miss Forough, she is amazing and helpful with a nice smile.Best trade mark vitamins and mineral i always find there.
My favourite pharmacy - the chief pharmacist always takes such care to look after everyone. I really appreciate the good service and knowledge, and very grateful to have this as our local chemist.
They have the best service, been with them for years and they are always so nice and with preparing my monthly medications. Always a positive attitude, definitely recommend them!
Always courteous. And when I bought some toothpaste that was beyond the sell by date they let me take it but refused payment. Anyway how can toothpaste have an expiry date?
I am a regular customer at this pharmacy. They perform very well, I always get my prescription medicine on time. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

1st class customer service, the staff at Cootes is really helpful. They went the extra mile for me today so i could get my daughter's medicine.
RIP-OFF .they charge you much more than other pharmacies . Please before buying their products just compare them with other pharmacies.
Incredibly rude and unfriendly manager. I try to support the high street - now I’ll be getting my repeat prescriptions online.
Very efficient and friendly staff. For me the Pharmacist provided good recommendation which helped my heeling.
