"we booked my birthday party here, it was fun! then i got fat shamed real badly, said something to defend myself and the security decides to not let me back in, without letting me grab my jacket, leaving me out in 1 degree weather, in a tank top freezing and i had multiple people come by and asking me if i was okay as the casino staff/security left me crying outside"

"I was extremely impressed with the staff at the Casino everyone was friendly and they made a real effort to make you feel safe and welcome"
Due to the unfortunate event I am temporarily experiencing homelessness. I was singled out as a minority, ask step aside as I did not look like the others. I was denied entry due to the way I dress and my appearance. Is it worth mentioning I had $200 cash in my hand upon entry. Clearly this is racism in 2023. I was greeted by security staff has to produce my ID. Even though clearly I am over the age of 40. Upon looking through my backpack cowboy security staff let in two male adults that were clearly younger than me. It was that that time I was told I need to died entry from the Security surveillance team. And was not given any explanation even though I asked. They did not even give me a chance to produce my ID. Shame on you Cowboys.im not different from any other individual in this casino yet you treated me as if I was. RASISM AT ITS FINEST
Other reviews state "The club staff are definitely nicer than casino staff." "The Casino security treated us so disrespectfully." "Never felt so disrespected by management in my life." "Most terrible experience ever in Calgary in this club with the ultimate disrespectful behaviour of it security guards." "The bouncers are some of the most un professional power trippers in alberta." I second these review wholeheartedly. I experienced the most unprofessional and unkind interaction with the casino security supervisor Chad. If you intend to go, or have any issues whatsoever, ask to speak with someone different. Better yet, don't go. Clearly this is an ongoing and systemic issue, why are people like me still experiencing this type of treatment?! Cowboys, train your staff better and deal with the issues you are being told exist.
we booked my birthday party here, it was fun! then i got fat shamed real badly, said something to defend myself and the security decides to not let me back in, without letting me grab my jacket, leaving me out in 1 degree weather, in a tank top freezing and i had multiple people come by and asking me if i was okay as the casino staff/security left me crying outside. i have been a player for awhile, and so has my boyfriend. being fatshamed on your birthday and casino security lets them get away with it and i get in trouble is ridiculous never have your birthday here, the staff don’t care about your wellbeing and will leave you out in the cold. they don’t seem to care if their patrons who spent money there freeze or if they get fat shamed. dont stand up for yourself i guess? thats what i learned from them
After Chipex event. Went for lunch at the main lounge. Very busy. 2 servers and a bartender. Terrible service. Terrible food. Lack of communication from server. My sandwich came over a half hour before my other 3 people in my company. Their burgers were very dry and not warm. My turkey bacon clubhouse was so disgusting. Subway would have been better. I'm asking for a glass of water 3 times. Watching our server take plates from the bar area, removing food and cutlery with her bare hands, and then touching customers' drinking glasses and lunch plates without washing her hands. No wonder people get sick. When time to pay was the only attention we got from her, only then apologized for the long wait for everything. Most likely to get a sympathy tip. 2 stars, cause it was an interesting venue
I was extremely impressed with the staff at the Casino everyone was friendly and they made a real effort to make you feel safe and welcome. But the food is another story is not great 3 restaurants on site Hitman’s - based on Calgary legend and all around great guy Stu Heart Melrose place that started on 17th Ave 30 plus years ago and has not really changed much since and the Center Bar. It’s crazy in Cowboys which should be the home of great beef that you can only find one 9 oz steak and one 5 oz steak sandwich plus burgers on the menu. This Casino is located on the Calgary Stampede grounds the celebrates the Canadian Cattle industry - embarrassing to me someone proud of our cattlemen and our beef industry.
Magnificent and well-known cowboys situated right in the heart of the Stampede. Simple to reach via many modes of transportation Plenty of parking. Never had any trouble entering. The location is enormous and has all the typical casino equipment and games. There are drinks and dining options, including the Zen 8 grill. The bar runs smoothly, and the staff is pleasant. To have a fantastic evening out, you must attempt this. Strongly advised.
Amazing and famous Cowboys located right down in the middle of the Stampede epicentre. Easily accessible through different means of travel. Tons of parking. Never any issues getting in. Place is huge with all the casino machines and games you would expect. Drinks and food are available including Zen 8 grill. The bar is efficient and staff is friendly. This is a must try for a great evening out. Highly recommend.
I rarely stop by Casino's in general but decided to swingby this place just this past weekend, and had a good experience as I had a late lunch inside the Cafe/Grill area. partaking in a Smoke Bacon Burger which was freaking awesome, big props to the cooks who made it they deserve praise for their appreciated work. also thanks to the very kind waitress she was wicked and offered a nice service too!.
It's a very busy atmosphere on Flames game night. Unfortunately it's usually young adults totally outta control. You will have that when you have a casino and a teeny bopper club in the same building. It is what it is , I still don't mind the hectic times. It's trying on some and rightfully so. But that shouldn't be a reason not to come by and enjoy the games, the sight seeing and party atmosphere.
Emily helped our bachelor party group with the Learn to Play package. Everyone was extremely helpful and welcoming and the overall experience was an A+. The bachelor had a blast and hasn't stopped talking about it. Emily was friendly, professional, and amazing to deal with. Highly recommend the learn to play package for large party groups.
Very confused with security. I was told to get my bag checked, so I went to do it and the lady said I didn't need to. So I walked away with my bag. Then security approached me and asked me to leave because I didn't check my bag. Thought I was just suppose to have someone look thru it. Super confused but was ready to leave anyway.
The dealers cannot control a table. I had to get the pit boss involved to show what she was doing wrong and they finally took her off the table. That was the worst experience I have had at a Casino. A roulette table shouldn't be run like that ever. I would go to the Elbow Casino because they understood how a table should be run.
Went to the KISS concert and my daughter had her face painted like Demon. We were refused entry to anything at the venue, we were stopping for dinner before the show. There is nothing in their policies saying it's prohibited. This was our first visit and we will never do it again! I do not recommend anyone should visit here!
I went into the casino with some friends and family. I was served by Madison at the centre bar. She was absolutely amazing and very tentative to our needs. She made our night memorable as we don’t go out much :) If you’re going down there, make sure you ask for Maddie!! You won’t regret it !
Great casino, excellent layout and lots of bars and seating as well as high roller areas, for the more serious of players! There wasn't the biggest number of roulette tables so had to wait to play and it got a bit squashy at times But the croupier was really nice and helpful to us non pros!
Brett HITMAN Hart Pub, a not so large pub inside Cowboys Casino. Great ambience. Everything you want to see about "the Hitman" which was entertaining. Food was amazing...Memorabilia and wrestling on the TVs was as great extra. It's gonna be packed come Stampede time. It's a must go to pub.
Great place to stop in if you enjoy gambling, the hospitality is great and the poker room is also a great place to play. A huge variety of different machines and table games to choose from and is always clean with a friendly greeting upon arrival. Highly recommended Casino to visit.
We were actually at Brett the Hitman Hart's restaurant inside and it was fantastic! My friend from Toronto flew in and made this a top priority. I can see why after our visit!Would go again next time we are in the city. The service was great and the steak sandwich was fantastic.
That roulette table dealer dolha ohh god worst ever I have seen my life .. how they dealing this kind of dealers am really mad also that supervisor wow awesome response really very bad … totally zero customer care there so please think before you go there ……..
Very nice poker room, they offer male strippers that you can slap in the face for 100bucks(10bucks if you weren’t recording it) love the place.Doug did his work well, had some nice slap on his face that night ,I would pick him again if I come by next time!
I stopped in here to use the bathroom, which was very wheelchair accessible and the staff were kind and courteous, so I dropped a 10 and was able to play for quite awhile. It wasn't over crowded and it was very easy to maneuver. Thanks for the fun!
I am speaking on behalf of a group of seniors who absolutely love the employees you hire at Cowboys. We are telling everyone from Alberta and BC to check you out as we have never had such special service and consideration. We don’t know all
Thee place to be after a Calgary Flames game or Scotiabank Saddledome Event. A wide variety of machines can get extremely busy after big events, so ve prepared to wait for machines, cabs, ubers, etc. Bret, the hitman Hart has his own bar,
Spent some time in the poker room. Friendly staff and the room & tables were clean. Some players need etiquette lessons and the floor staff need to learn how to be commanding in aggressive situations but overall a nice experience.
You can be there for fun or as a visitor. Good thing is there is a free parking. Arrived a little earlier but the underground parking was already open or it might never closed. Visited on Sep 13, 2023 as a pure visitor.
amazing experience, great slots, and live tables! layout is well structured, and many dining options, even the staff was friendly. I enjoyed everything about it and will definitely be back on my next trip to Calgary.
Great atmosphere, lots of slots, delicious food, poker room, friendly staff and clean facility. For an older casino, it hits all the right marks and it's centrally located downtown off the Stampede Grounds
Stopped here on the way from Calgary to Banff National Park. We ate at Melrose inside and had delicious wings and a burger. The Casino staff was so welcoming and nice, it was very spacious too.
Went there only to sit at the center bar for food. Needed a quick bite between events elsewhere and the staff were very accomodating. Will definitely return (for the food, not the gambling).
Casino is my go to fun time. I love Cowboys casino. It is small and older but the service is always friendly and helpful. Good food and a good variety of games. I will go back for sure!!
Good time. Melrose was great service, and food was good. Sports and Shows this is a good place to start , end or both. Not overly big and Zen8 no longer there which is a huge let down.
I had the worst experience at the Cowboy's Club/Casino. The Casino security treated us so disrespectfully. As a girl in my mid-20s, I was never treated like this in my entire life.
There is no better time to hang out in cowboys casino than during stampede. The atmosphere, the scenery, the drinks, food, and the entertainment is fantastic.
We ate at the Hitman s bar it was good food. Great service the host and waitress we had were wonderful very fast for food to come out. Will definitely go back
The server Madison H is amazing. She is so hard working and friendly and attentive. Ask for her and you’ll get amazing service! Thanks Maddie!
Really enjoyed the atmosphere here very nice casino and the staff was asking people if they needed anything while playing had a good time .
Was leaving to and had a drink in my hand a security gaurd grabbed me. And spilt the drink all over me and barred me for being an “a hole”
Awesome place for the casino + party bar combo, plus they really make you feel safe with the amount of staff they have at every corner
Why do I love this place? Because its short walk or 1 C-train stop from the stampede grounds. Fun place to party after the stampede.
Had a great time.. Just never seem to walk out with larger wins.. But hey it's a gamble! Other than that it's a happing place!
Came after couple of BMO Center shows. Good casino but no one came to ask for drinks we were there for over an hour .
Way too busy. Drinks mediocre. Filled with children as the cowboys bar host every 18 yr old in Calgary.. no thanks
Nice Casino place in the city of Calgary, they got great food and great service. Good place to have a good time
This place is like Disneyland for adults. Great mixture of tables. Poker tournaments occur quite often too.
Great place, dance hall was awesome, the servers are fantastic and very nice. Definitely coming back!
So fun if you ever get in the line up! Lol number one spot I'll always recommend if you go to Calgary
This is a super fun place to stop in at after a flames game - it’s busy, and the atmosphere is fun.
Got crushed trying to get in after concert. They should be more prepared for larger crowds.
Had an amazing wonderful time, the restaurant was great, excellent staff, good food!!
Caitlyn at Customer Service was very pleasant, atmosphere at Cowboys was very good
Nice and unpretentious casino, and has great poker room al night. $100 buy ins,
Stopped in before attending the Kiss concert. Always enjoy spending time here.
Friendly service and plenty of drinks I just never win here very tight
