5 star plus Recently sold at the Grange through Craig Lea and McGrath. Really happy with the whole experience. From the first meeting all the way to settlement the process was smooth. Craig took a strong position on the value of the property, did his homework, worked the contacts really well, and had us fully informed the whole way. Fees were upfront and reasonable and no crazy extras to pay - no insane "marketing" budgets - just a clear list of some minor charges and the clear fee structure. Craig ran a string of effective open houses, gathered data, and generally got everyone in the right position to come to the auction to bid. The auction itself was like a performance piece; a bevy of bidders (over 10 I believe), plenty of serious bids, loads of staff on site making sure every bidder was looked after and encouraged to have one more go. The whole thing was over in minutes and we had our sale and our price. And it was a quite full price. Ok, the area was hot and for a subset of buyers what we had was just what they were looking for. All the same, you have to find them, you have to get them there, and you have to manage their expectations into the right price window and actually get the bids in the yard when it happens. Craig delivered on all that. He landed it. And that is why he's worth the fee. Finally, I have never had a high opinion of real estate agents. Craig really is not what I was expecting. He is genuine, no smarm, no oiliness, just clear, considered communication. I'm confident in saying he is someone with a good deal of integrity. If you are in the area and looking to sell you really should sit down and have a chat with Craig.

Can’t Fault Craig, He is an Excellent Agent Craig was recommended by a friend in the industry. He is a knowledgeable agent who was able to provide sound advice, and sold the property at the price he predicted before it went on the market. Prior to putting our property on the market, Craig took the time to talk through strategy and an appropriate marketing proposal. Craig is polite, relatable and an excellent negotiator. He is always prompt to reply, and kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. He got a contract on our home at the first Saturday open. Craigs commission rates were reasonable, and he was supported by a knowledgeable co-agent Michael, and an efficient and friendly PA Madison. Despite having a team, Craig was present and involved. We would highly recommend Craig, and would have no hesitation selling through him again.

Based on these other reviews, it appears that Craig has a decent sales record and has a talent for building superficially positive relationships with his direct clients. As a tenant of a building he sold, however, I found Craig and his team to be lacklustre and oddly condescending, with regards to their communications. I found the McGrath Wilston team to be largely dismissive of my concerns and questions about the sale procedure, and when I raised these subsequently with Craig directly, was told my doing so had been “totally pointless” and a “waste of everyone’s time”. I would strongly consider anyone considering working with Craig and McGrath Wilston to look past the salesman’s pitch. It is clear that Craig has carefully cultivated a positive and charismatic reputation, which may be misleading. He is, ultimately, a salesman – be careful.

Very poor quality and non serious agency for Australian standards, attempted to inspect a property twice (Sat 22-Sat29) bunch of people wasting time trying to inspect, tried to call the agent “Callum” several times without a response.
