Why is everything on Google 5 stars?! Coming back from Seattle, where we were spoiled for coffee options, this coffee shop is average. The pluses is that there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and many menu options, some better than others. My husband is a croissant conneseir and he didn’t finish his here—which I’ve never seen. A positive is that they do have gluten free options for muffins which I always appreciate so that added a star. Coffee wise, husband just drinks black drip and he said that was fine. The cold brew was acidic after a couple minutes, even with cream added, which is rare. I didn’t feel much jolt of caffeine so likely middle of the road with caffeine content even with cold brew. If in the area and nothing else was close, would try again, wouldn’t go out of the way to drive here, so 3 stars.
Half of the time, it's great and the other half, not so great. I don't know why some baristas think they can be snobby and we will think it's cool, like we will admire them. I've been a barista. It's not cool to be snobby, okay? People usually are not getting coffee to relax after a hard day's work. They are getting it before work. And thanks for keeping us in the pandemic world. Most of the city has moved past the mask mandate and have gotten back to normal life. If you demand masks, make sure you are not running out of masks in your basket. Maybe spend less on the million fancy signs you have up about masks and get a box for the customers who need them? And maybe some actual seating for customers who have to wait 30 minutes under your tent for a latte?
Fantastic pastry selection including allergy-, vegan- and dog-friendly options, sweet and savory. Good beans and abundant indoor and outdoor seating (though outdoor uncovered as of 3/5/23). Staff wears high-quality masks and requires masks from customers when not seated, with surgical masks available at the door. The space is extremely well-ventilated and CO2 on Sunday morning measured barely higher than outdoor air, better than any business I've seen measured. Super impressed with Crema's commitment to healthy air, caring for their staff, and accommodating the vulnerable and elderly while maintaining a comfortable space and delicious products.
I stopped in here on my way out of town because we had dinner a block down the night before and the pastries looked AH-mazing. They offer masks for when you're ordering. I super respect that they care about their customers and employees this way. Of course if you're seated at a table you are free to take it off. This was not inconvenient at all. The quiche was delicious. Our batista, Cassie, was so sweet and our food came out looking gourmet. This place is delicious and beautiful. The art is stunning. I loved the vibe here. You can tell the people love working here and love making customers happy. Stop here if you can!
I love Crema. The coffee and lattes are wonderful. I really like the Caramel Sutra and Honey Vanilla lattes. They also have good drip coffee. The pastries have never disappointed either. I’ve tried almost all of them. They have a cheddar corn biscuit that is exceptional! They have a few food dishes as well. I’ve had the breakfast sandwich, turnover pastry (filled with potatoes and eggs and wrapped in a pastry dough), and the quiche (which has a yummy side salad). All of it is really good. One thing to note: it’s CRAZY busy on the weekends. Usually the tables are full and there’s a good line.
This is a great shop, but I wanted to let everyone on here know that this place has still continued to maintain covid restrictions to date (8/1/22). Also wifi here is very slow. I don't believe its a business's obligation to provide me wifi, but I am hoping to help someone out who may be utilizing limit resources (aka having no car) to get to this establishment expecting to be able to use it. Better to go to Vida Coworking about 0.7 miles away if you want to work remotely. A good place to come for a pastry and outdoor dining, but don't expect much in terms of ambiance.
We tried this place out and it was worth it. The coffee and pastries we had were stellar. The service was perfect. We were given the time to choose from the bakery case. Not rushed. There is lots of seating that filled up fast on a Sunday morning. We'll go again!

Stared going to this store at the start of the pandemic! They truly kept such an upbeat and pleasant experience during the consistent changes that happened the past two years. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and always has been. I live in Beaverton but the trip is always worth it. Yesterday a friend and I went in for coffee and treats, the brista was so warm and welcoming. And made suggestions for trying to items. Made the trip a complete delight .
Great coffee, with a lot of super tasty coffee drinks. The service is fast and very friendly. The pastries and desserts are fantastic. Great atmosphere with covered seating outside on the closed off street.

One of my favorite spot before the pandemic. I wish I wouldn’t have to preface it that way, but they still enforce a mask mandate. I was reluctant to put one on. Once I got to the counter the person working told me I needed to put my mask. I was a bit confused as it was on my face but not covering my noise. Honestly it created a negative impression and I won’t be back. Two stars because the food is still delicious.
One of the best bakeries in Portland. Everything is made in house and delicious, there are great savory options along with the sweets, and the coffee is always great. The cafe has a relaxing atmosphere, and it's a great place to meet friends or hang out with a book or laptop. Service is always friendly and fast. Often cute dogs tied up outside the window while their owners get treats, which always makes my day.
Crema is dope. The folks who run this shop are kind and always serve it up right. Have had 100’s of espressos and NEVER was one over pulled or burnt. That In itself is 5 stars. Pastries -always on point. I like that it’s not trying to be some squeaky clean homogenized chain. It’s got a vibe and the coffee is next level. Thanks Crema people- especially you wizard pastry chef gnomes in the back! Your rocking it.
Friendly staff, well marked distancing marks on the ground for where to stand, clear instructions on COVID protocol. Great variety of baked goods. I got the vanilla morning bun (very light in flavor, great if you don’t want something too sweet) and it was HUGE. I also got a beautiful coconut cream tart with pineapple and mango. They also have savory items and coffee drinks if you wanted something else.
great vibes! great coffee ! great music ! the staff is so attentive . I especially love Molly ✨❤️✨… I light up when she is working … I will continue to tell all my friends about your business… cheers

The baked goods are tremendous. Today had a sandwich that was also delicious and flavorful with local ingredients. The coffee is always good and they have so many yummy additions to make it sweet and comforting. I love the big open space that has music loud enough to muffle people's conversations without making it hard to talk. Lovely place to go alone or with friends.
I'm so glad that Crema is in my neighborhood, they're a great shop and rival the Sbux down the street immensely. Their coffee is well made and not burnt, but it's the pastries and other foods that are impressive. The Coffee(squared) cake is so good. I can't wait for them to be open for in-house eating/drinking because it's one of my favorite places to chill and read.
NEVER DISAPPOINTED. Amazing baked goods — so many puff pastry options and the cinnamon rolls like grandma made.* Solid espresso drinks; the Mexican Mocha is amazing. My go-to brunch option is a slice of QUICHE with side of greens (and superb house-made dressing). . . . * TIP: if ordering the last cinnamon roll, ask for the bake tray drippings of caramel and frosting.
I love this cafe / bakery and am so glad it is right next to my work. Not only is the coffee and food (everything I have tried is amazing, but I especially love side salad and dressing that comes with breakfast or lunch items). I enjoy interacting with and seeing the employees regularly so friendly and chill.

Friendly staff and a HUGE selection of amazing looking baked goods. Muffins, croissants, breads, breakfast sandwiches, all kinds of pastries. I could go on and on. The zucchini muffin I had was delicious and the coffee (Coava roasted) was amazing as expected. They have a large outdoor eating space shared with the Ankeny bar next door. Great spot all around!
So sorry we found this coffee shop so late in our trip. There was a long line when we got there. Staff and patrons were giving lots of good vibes. Both the coffee and baked goods were delicious. It was a delight to see the staff interacting so well together even when so busy. Loved the outdoor seating so we could could have the grand dogs along.
Best cafe I've been to on the Eastside. Lots of seating, AWESOME coffee, tea and they make their own bread, muffins, breakfast snacks, sandwiches and so much more. AMAZING bakery, even better coffee. They open their shutters and have outside seating during warm days. Dog friendly. Also check out the food carts just a half a block south of them.
We ordered a rose latte and basic black coffee. The coffee was amazing, no need for anything added! Cute coffee art and lots of other fun products to buy like breakfast, local chocolate, or basic pantry needs. It was a little busy and the customer service felt less personable and more on a tight schedule, but great tasting drinks.
Their pastries are below average. From France here. Their croissants don’t taste like croissant. They’re sour not buttery and puffy. Please do something. I have to complain after 3 years living nearby. Want a croissant? Whole Foods nearby have them for $2.50 each and they tastes closer to authentic than Crema’s. A sad fact.
The pastries here are some of our favorites in Portland! Highly recommend the bleu cheese croissant, corn & cheddar biscuit, and a.m. bun. The staff is efficient and friendly even during peak hours. Giving 4 stars since the coffee is somewhat mediocre compared to what's around there, but it's not bad by any means.
Incredible pastries. I have to keep returning to try one of everything- so hard to pick a favorite because everything is incredible! Their tarts are especially beautiful and delicious. Staff is always friendly, kind, and efficient. Excellent COVID safety protocols. Beautiful coffee, their drip is always on point.
I’m in from out of town and discovered this gem! The gluten free pastries and other treats are INCREDIBLE! I fell in love with the GF banana nut muffin and will definitely come back the next few mornings for one Delicious latte with oat milk (many non-dairy creamer choices!) and helpful kind employees. …
Terrible service. The person who took our order was largely uninformed of their menu items and not willing accommodate. Bad attitude, bad food, bad drinks. Would not recommend.

Super inconsistent. Had a few decent cappuccinos, highly dependent on staffing. Today i got a 4 shot latte that had clearly been sitting on the bar for a minute before they called it out, barista observed all the foam had fallen and assured me it was "still good." it was not. Photo is what i received.
Yummy Spanish coffee. I got the quiche which was good, but they put the salad on top of the quiche in this flimsy paper box so it was difficult to eat. The chocolate croissant didn’t quite meet expectations since there was hardly any chocolate in it. I would still recommend coming here for coffee.
Every time I go here I take forever to decide what I want, because everything is delicious! My favorites have been the mushroom and manchego biscuit, the blue cheese croissant, the quiche, and the pumpkin bread. Their coffee is great too. The rose latte is really nice. The staff are friendly too.
The coffee was decent and the pastry was delicious, but you still are required to wear a mask indoors, there's no indoor seating and no heaters in the outdoor seating area so unless you wanna eat and drink in your car or wait until you get home, you will have to deal with being cold
My favorite place in town for an espresso/cappuccino and pastries. I now live across town and still come on occasion for them. 100% recommend you get something to eat while here, the quiche never disappoints. Neither do the desserts! Heck, nothing has ever been a disappointment!
Very nice space. Music is not too loud, which is great for conversations. Prices are standard. The bakery looks amazing! We got a cinnamon roll and earthquake cookie. Yum! We ordered honey vanilla lattr and vietnamese iced coffee. Both were very creamy, not too sweet. Very nice
They're always busy for a reason. Great coffee and pastries, very interesting flavor profiles in drinks and desserts alike. I tried one of their bake-at-home pot pies and it was delightful, perhaps just missing a dash of corn starch to thicken the filling, but soooo gooooooood.
For my son’s first birthday, I ordered a pistachio cheesecake and some large pot pies for a small gathering while on vacation in Portland. Everything was delicious and beautiful!!!! The team made hosting a party while on a trip easy! I would go back again and again!
The food is great. The staff has been harried the last couple of times I've been in. My drink was wrong and the oat milk was chunky in it. It was replaced quickly but the staff reaction was pretty unfriendly. A bummer because I have so many great memories there.
Food and staff are great. One of my favorite places in Portland. The menu is good for a treat, breakfast or lunch. I hate struggling to find a clean table everytime I go, but there's usually one to be found.

I've been patronizing Crema since 2012 and they have always been fantastic. I hadn't been in a little while and went recently because I was craving an a.m. bun. They added several drinks to their menu. I tried the caramel vanilla latte made
I’d heard great things about Crema from friends and expected to love it but came away disappointed. The talks ceiling and music create a great vibe. The baked goods look appealing and the staff are helpful and kind. Also, lots of seating-So
Not worth going to, the quality of your coffee feels entirely dependent on the size of the tip you leave at the beginning. Most of the staff are pretty unfriendly, even when no one else is around. I have been here about 20 times now and had
I have seen this cafe several times. One morning I finally managed to make the time to go in. My evaluation of a cafe is slightly different than most people. I’m very focused on how comfortable the environment is. There was a lot of seating
I have been going to Crema for a couple of years now. And I actually love this place. Great coffee, great pastries, and MOST of the staff is awesome. However the past few times I’ve gone there, my orders have been incorrect and I haven’t
Requiring masks while standing in line or walking around just to take them off when sitting was not founded on science in 2021 let alone in 2023. You are not preventing anything here. The only purpose of this policy is to virtue signal.
Not in my neighborhood but I happen to have a meeting with a guy here. What a surprise! Amazing baked goods created in house. Very nice people, customers and staff. I have any coffee houses in my neighborhood but I wish I had this one.
Amazing staff great coffee it wasn't too hot or to cold the turnover was delicious and so flaky and the panini was awesome. I travel for work so I'm in Portland all the time so I will be back. This is my new breakfast place for sure.
Enough already with the mask BS ! Big nasty ' Mask ' signs everywhere . I'm done - not worth the hassle anymore. Now I walk a few blocks to a new coffee shop on Stark . Coffee is good , a place to sit and everyone is friendly
The staff is friendly, the food it delicious, and the line is usually not too long! There are always beautiful decorations and art pieces around the shop, plus free treats for your dog! I recommend the cinnamon roll!
Delicious coffee and pastries. But I don't understand why they still insist on masks when even in Europe they are a thing of the past. They not only make you eat outside, but also wait outside for your drinks.
Staff were very nice and quick and efficient. Loved the covid precautions they were taking, felt very safe. The americano I had was delicious! Well definitely visit them again for coffee for sure!
The coffee here is pretty good. I tried their signature lattes. The almond chocolate creme pie is so fragrant and delicious. Their cookies are not too sweet and just the right level of chewiness.
Excellent coffee and pastries. Warm and friendly staff. Plenty of outdoor seating. I own a coffee shop back home and so I am very particular about my coffee and the vibes. A+++++++
Wonderful breads and pastries. Great coffee drinks and exceptionally considerate staff. Thoughtful site management allowing social distancing plus some outdoor seating. Go!!
Great customer service and nice choices. The options look delightful. However, they are good but just a little blan other than the California cookie; it's full of flavor.
Turnover was delicious, great tea selections, other pastries looked amazing, very friendly staff. They are not allowing eating /drinking in the cafe (and require masks).
Not great. The croissants were a bit raw inside and the coffee itself didn't taste amazing. Threw my coffee away after 4 or 5 sips because I couldn't drink it anymore.
Such a delightful spot! The pastries are amazing, coffee is tasty, and the staff are incredibly kind. My new go-to spot for a morning cup of joe and a treat!
Had the sweet cream iced espresso. So good! Very rich and creamy but not too sweet. Location is spacious and beautiful and service is fast and friendly.
Contrary to other reviews, this is *not* the best croissant in Portland, but decent baked goods. Lack of indoor dining and real cups will keep me away.
Very unique bakery. Brought it for my coworkers and we all loved the different pastry options and coffee was delicious. Staff was very friendly.
Their latte was great, but they want you to wear a mask. You don't have to wear one in medical offices anymore. Why did I get all those shots?
Great bakery! I love the cheddar corn biscuit and the staff is always so friendly. They have such beautiful pastries, I want to try them all!
The coffee tastes like plain without any flavour in it, which wasn't what we ordered. Definitely wouldn't come back for that. Disappointed.
Coffee was excellent. The espresso and drop coffee both had a nutty flavor when we went. Good pastry and other food options.
Quite a neat spot though we reached post breakfast hours so couldn't get our hands on all the talked bout delicacies...
Incredible neighbors bakery nestled in laurelhurst district between food carts and various top notch restaurants
Great pastries, both sweat and savory, pies, quiches galore, salads and samies....of course there is coffee too!
I haven't tried the coffee. My fav are cinnamon rolls, quiche or breakfast sandwich. They also sell dog treats!
Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, wonderful coffee and truly excellent food. The veggie quiche blew me away
That Viet (4 shots) Iced Espresso and the Kickstart Sandwich was legit! I'll definitely be back!
Best Scones, Consistently great coffee, lots of outdoor seating. Always cute dogs visiting.
Delicious and adorable! The staff were super sweet too :) and their Covid protocols are A+
Screw up with my drink twice. Order single shot got regular, order 16 oz. Got 12 oz.
Yummmy quiche and coffee! Little bit of a wait on the weekends but 100% worth it.
Amazing menu and I had egg and cheese turnover and cinnamon roll. Must try
