Communication: I went to the store for one of my spoke was broken and I was suggested to do a deluxe service due to my bike's overall condition and more cost effective. The staff patiently introduced the wheel truing, brake bleading, front fork 50 hours maintaining, and overall inspection for my bike and was told the price range clearly. Several days later, I was received a quota for chain, chainring, casstte, and head bearing replacement, extra $400+ will be needed for drivetrain parts. Considering my budget and possible upgrade in the near future, I only accepted the extra head bearing replacement. Quality: Pro: The front fork was maintained The brake was bleeded as described Con: Please see the pictures for details. Deluxe service as their website mentioned: "A complete General Service Cassette, chain, derailleurs and cranks all degreased in an eco-friendly chemical bath Frame cleaned and detailed" For me, it's totally unacceptable standard of deluxe servie. Five star for good communication, four star for front fork, and brake maintainance, but zero for the chemical bath and frame cleaned and detailed.
Have had positive experiences here and can recommend them to others. Both at the front and back of shop experience has been positive. The service on my bicycles have been great. In 2018 I cycled across Australia and my bike needed a lot of TLC before commencing the trip. I left it with them for a couple days and said to make it as good as they can as If they were about to embark on a trip across the country and when I received my bike back, it felt completely different and brand new. Safe to say I had no dramas across the trip at all with the bicycle. They are up front with you if anything might change to the cost of the service and get in touch with you before doing the works on the bike which is nice. They're just lovely blokes which makes the experience far better. If you're new or a seasoned pro, I'd recommend coming in to Cyclery Northside.
Booked 2 rental ebikes a week in advance. Drove 45 minutes from the inner west and arrived 5 minutes after 9am. They gave me the fat Levo which was not the SL model I wanted. The other bike? Well, it was in pieces with no idea how long they can put everything back together. My complaint to inquire what's going on here was replied with "It is what it is" . Turns out whoever took the booking was supposed to prep the bike? So you're saying I need to do a follow up call, setup a calendar reminder and text the staff before picking it up? Anyways, my partner didn't get to ride and she has taken our money elsewhere to buy our 2 SLs.
I started a multi-day ride in April and my rear hub gave up after just 2kms (mea culpa - poor maintenance?). Anyway, I called Northside just after opening time and ran through the problem with Chris over the phone. To get me back on the road in record time he had a new wheel waiting for me by the time I arrived 20 minutes later. He recommended and fitted a new tyre (tubeless setup) and transferred rotor and cassette. In another 15 mins I was good to go. The new setup then went from Opera House to Mt Kosi without a hitch - and over some bloody horrendous surfaces. Cool and calm, and a damn good mechanic. Thanks Chris!
The attention and depth of knowledge provided by Nicky was above expectation. He was patient and understanding of our needs. We in no time at all purchased 2 Specialized Bicycles......why would we even consider going elsewhere. Thank you Team Cyclery. Cheers David Rabie. The after sales service by Nicky and others has been amazing. Nothing has been an issue. Minor repairs and tweaking undertaken on the spot. Quite refreshing in this day and age.........Thanks All.
Great service. I took my wife’s mountain bike in for major upgrade. The previous bike shop I took it to said it couldn’t be fixed. Nathan was so helpful, he did a great job upgrading all the worn and corroded components and treated the bike like it was his own. I received the bike and it was better than it had ever been and in time to give to my wife for Christmas. Thanks so much. I highly recommend Cyclery Northside.
Don't go there to buy parts. I was chasing an RS-500 bottom bracket and a replacement crank set, was told I was wastin gtheir time after they had sourced the bottom bracket and I said I was buyjng it. 50km per day 5 day per week commute, so I can't leave my bike there...proper rude to some one who was about to hand over >$300. Also, I go there for tubes, tires and cables all the time. Not any more.
Thank you to Kurt and the team for your time answering questions, educating me and building the Allez in the magnificent Blue Lagoon. As a first time road cyclist, I love the bike. I'll be sure to make the trip more often from the Central Coast to upgrade the components. Thanks again Kurt and the team for your fantastic service.
Great customer service and very tidy store. Kurt was happy to dial in my experience on the test ride to assist me with confirming my choice. I drove 5 hours to check out the model options and was super happy to drive away with my new bike. Very happy.
