You can enter D'aguilar forest here via a Mt Nebo road break trail. There's routes to Enoggera Creek Resovoir, North to Samford Valley, or even south to Brookfield depending on how far you're hiking. Trails can vary wildly in difficulty. So I wouldn't recommend venturing too far off the early tracks if you're a newbie to hiking. D'aguilar Forest has minimal water (mostly tanks) so bring water with you. If you need to use the water tanks, I recommend bring some water purification tablets with you. The forest itself is vast, mountainous and stunningly beautiful.
We hike regularly particularly the long range walk. Well worth the visit. Amazed so few people frequent this area of Brisbane.
