Best place for studying Delhi Public Library is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Culture and governed by Delhi Library Board, fully financed by the Government of India. Delhi Public Library was started as a UNESCO project in the year 1951 by the Govt. of India. It has since developed into a premier Public Library System in the metropolitan city of Delhi. There is self-study room, newspaper room kids study room, computer room, yoga classroom and a big hall or auditorium for any event. Overall it is good and getting better. Good and nice reading rooms. nice atmosphere for study. Library environment is compatible to studying. Nominal charges for registration process and other formalities Many rare and old books of reputed writers are available for studies must visit here if come to old Delhi.

I used to go public library on the daily basis from last 1 year after travelling from 20km from my home but now I left it and switched to a private library because mostly when ever I reach there even at 7 am I did not got the sitting for study as crowd is packed and they took the token from the staff member at 6 Am . Now the only place left is reference where you still find 35 sits (limited sits again) .You will get this token at 8:30 am so you have to be alert for that means ,have to make a queue there and wait .Since , it sits are limited so again it is possible that you didn't get seat again means you didn't get sit in air-conditioning.NOW, the only place left is park of library where you will found 6 benches . In park you can only study in winters but in summer it's too humid out there you even can't sit there for 5 minutes . Facilities are auswme for only those person who got the seats for study , for other it's nothing but waste . SUMMARY : IF YOU YOUR OWN STUDY MATERIAL THEN DO NOT GO THERE BEACUSE AT THE LAST YOU WILL FIND THAT YOU HAVE WASTED YOUR ENTIRE DAY .... NUMBER OF TIMES I CAME BACK FROM LIBRARY TO MY HOME BACK BEACUSE OF LACK OF SEATS AND WASTED 4 HOURS DUE TO TRAVELLING.......

A lot of changes have been made in the library and still, there is some modification going on. In the coming time, the government will make it much better. There is self-study room, newspaper room,‍‍ kids study room, computer room, ‍♀️‍♂️yoga classroom and a big hall or auditorium for any event. Overall it is good and getting better. This is an awesome library but recently it is payable 200/- per month. Bus facilities are available for almost all routes, which is located at old Delhi railway station. With AC and without AC are also available (sitting). Plus the point of this library is that every type of book is available. This library used to be good back in year before 2018, after 2018 I visited this library just a week ago. Alot has changed here, library staff is very rude just the perfect typical government staff. On website it is mentioned that library opens at 9 in morning but the staff(the one who sits at register entry desk) won't let you enter the library before 10am by saying- Abhi bahar betho, abhi koi staff nhi aya hai. Moreover, dpl website doesn't work properly. One has to ask the staff for how to use it and the staff at first won't listen as she is already engage in gossiping with another staff and will make weird faces after listening to the problem. Better to seek some other library rather than this one. Although books collection is quite good here but management team is terrible!

I visited this place on 10 of June 2022, first time ever visited a public library. There is many hall's also available for program or function like seminar on hourly basis. There is policy that if you lives in delhi then yourl don't have to worry because there is no security deposit, just you have to pay membership payment is 400 for a year but if you not live in delhi then you have to pay 3000 security deposit till you cancel the membership, it's refundable. Otherwise all the place is good rooms are big and maintained. There is also a self study room is there. This Library located near ther Chandni chowk metro station exit gate number 2, easy to reach for first timer also.

If it's in your walking distance and you just want a ok kinda place to read novel then it's ok otherwise it's the worst library in the world. If you are preparing for competitive exam it's not for you. 1.They don't have any latest books, most latest they have is last to last year edition and even that are reserved for only reading in the library. 2. Fine: They are even charging in corona pandemic. 3. If anything changes in the rules and regulation you will not be aware. 4. Very hard to contact. 5. Very selfish staff, if you have any problems there standard reply is, "We don't know, find out for yourself."

This marked my inaugural visit to this library. The Delhi Public Library boasts numerous branches, and beneath its umbrella, students converge for self-study, where an extensive collection of public books beckons avid readers. It is strategically situated just opposite the Old Delhi Railway Station, adjacent to Gate No. 2 of the Chandni Chowk Metro Station. To gain access, a library card is essential. If you are a newcomer, a new registration is required to procure this vital card, and the registration window opens at 10:00 AM. The library's standard operating hours commence at 8:00 AM.

This library is a very good library, it is located in Delhi, people of almost all ages go here to indulge themselves, although there is a lot of clash here, but people love to fall here and there is a lot of interest in falling here. The worst library I have ever seen in my life rude Watchmen , rude Gardner , if you feel stressed you can't walk in the ground of the library because of Gardner Receptionist is very rude ,I have ever seen in my life . They won't return your deposit money if you are outsider , they they are like first you will have to show us that slip which provided by the library after that we will return your money So I would like to suggest you please don't join the library. Otherwise staff is helpful and good. Watchman is very rude and mannerless

A very good collection of books one can find here, every genre is available here, sometimes you can't find seat inside because of the crowd but they also have garden outside for others to sit and do group discussions and study, one of the peaceful places to come and study, you can take your own books there and study, library is very old and you can study here whole day without disturbance. Best place for self study . This place provides you access to a very large no. of books ,journals, research books and digital facility. You can see a large no. Of people in this place of every age group be it a small kid or students or old aged professors or book lovers even in the digital age of today. A small amphitheatre, park, gym and reading rooms are present here . Easy access to the place by buses, metro or train . Locker facility for members bags and belongings available here.

It is definitely one of the best public library. however, amenities are not proper, the toilets are not cleaned. The handicapped accessibility is not proper. The collection of books is impressive, however it could do better in terms of maintenance. I wished they offered library cards to everyone, the membership process should be easier , even for people coming from other states and foreign nationals. Making education accessible to all. The children's section is commendable.

Good collection of books on literature science and all, with a decent computer room open for members. But you will usually not find a good enough place to read at the place. People occupy the place from very early in the morning by just keeping there belongings on the desk in reading room and then go out. Even park area doesn't have good enough space left, away from direct sunlight, all the place is occupied by people, many of which have no real intention of reading books.

Great and very quiet place to study or find new books . It comprises a garden with benches, a specific room with assigned desk for which you have to come very early , if you can't get one of those there are more desk outside for anyone to use. You can find various kinds of book from competitive to novels and more. It's registration for delhi resident range from zero to 100 rupees sometime for 5 years. Last but not the least there is bathroom facility too.

DPL is much better than any private library as it's spacious and better facilities to study not only your syllabus but also help to gain your knowledge in every field as DPL provides newspaper & magazines along with 45 mins internet usage ( only for educational purpose ) and had a auditorium where seminars conducts frequently. I m highly recommend you to be a part of DPL Chandni Chowk it's worthfull if you are really into studies.

It's a heaven to those who loves book. One can find all kind of book here. Separate space for study. Huge building. Neat and clean premises. Lighting is great. Public convenience is appreciable. Safety and security is good. All kinds of people reaches here to self study. A gym is also available here. Very much appreciable services. Good behavior of staffs. Parking is good.

The library is good for students. The only thing is that students are roaming here and there chit chatting always. For the membership you should get attested your membership form from any of these. Mp/MLA/ Mbbs Mbha doctor or any authority then only you will be able to join the library. You can download the form and see on the second page that it is mentioned there.

During 1956 I started using the services of this library. At that time I was in my teens and found it very useful place for to gather knowledge. I developed this habit of visiting library and I had to leave Delhi for abroad to earn a living in UK. Yes, there are best libraries here but I will never forget my Library in Delhi DPL.

Library is nice. But if someone is not from delhi then the membership fees is 1000 INR whereas for a delhite its 50 INR. Such kind of differences should not be there. Everyone should be treated equally. Main Problem in this library is the sitting arrangement. There is less space for sitting and most of the time its over packed.

Before few years, there was no such facilities. But now, just awesome and favorite place for students and readers. Its free for the resident of delhi but 1000₹ for outsider . Registration fee is 20-50₹ only. There are many books even for each category. You can find books easily as they are maintained and highly categorized.

I donot read any book here but attended a seminar in Geetanjali hall , it was decent hall and quite spacious and staff of library were helpful , you can order tea inside and can get some snaks too . Also , there was beautiful garden . Also there I saw quite unique thing library on bus , it looks cool to me .

Excellent, but still lacking in infrastructure, many A.Cs are not working. And the toilet was in a bad condition. But now they clean it daily, Otherwise everything is quite good like the environment, cleanliness, staff etc. You can consider it for your work.

Best place for study..... Huge variety of books.... Very large space.... Gym facility is very nice.... Focus on extra activities also which is necessary for every child.... Health is important for study ...... Love that gym.... But more machine is requierd.

This Library is very close to the Delhi Railway station, it consists of a closed indoor auditorium too....you can conduct any kinds of events there...you can spend your time here reading books .....it is one of the oldest library there in Delhi.

Though a large number of books are available to read and issue, but the library infrastructure is poor. Also, if you want to use reading room for self-study, then it's better to reach early as it gets filled fast daily.

You can issue any book you want from Delhi public library. If you want to make library card, you have to take refrence from MLA, counceller, etc. So you become a trusted person for them to bring back book you issued.

Library has decent study rooms with fairly quiet atmosphere, however, there's no wifi and no sockets for charging the laptop. And in today's time these are the very basic facilities that someone need to study.

It was hard to find. A really small and conjusted place. Charges for bpl were 25/- and else were 100/-. The environment didn't seem to be study supportive.. I guess it can accommodate max 10 to 15 people.

Before 2-3 year it was not so good but now its well maintained hygenic , separate places to study , its free for the resident of delhi but 1000₹ for outsider . Registration fee is 20-50₹ .

Decent place ,for all It has different sections like reading children newspaper self study and a small garden . Mostly crowded but one can find large collection of books in variety topics.

Opposite old Delhi Railway Station This library is quite close to chandani Chowk market and it's full of ruckus and crowd all the time . You can spent some quality time reading here !

Worst experience. The man on membership counter uses abusive language ... I went to study but he abused. Irresponsible behaviour literally hated it. And I will never go here again.

This is a public library. The Public library situated in Old Delhi. The Public library is situated in opposite side of Old Delhi railway station. The library is open for public.

Everything is fine, there is a slight issue of the charging point, the laptop is not able to charge here..There should be charging points in the reading room for the students.

Nice library. Good seatings. Park available along with Gym. Can go for programmes that happen in the audi there. Yoga classes keeps happening there and overall a good place!

This library is neither good nor bad, this is a library without books. And the employees does not have much information about the books, but for the study purpose it is ok

It is a government library. There's a big crowd of students, mostly preparing for government exams. You can get a subscription here for just Rs. 20 for 5 years.

Everything is very good, the library does not have the facility of WiFi only, it will be very good if the readers get the facility of WiFi in the library.

Real example of Government working style. My form was 20th in series and it took them 4 hrs to deliver that. Worst process. Otherwise library is good.

It's spacious, it's silent & a complete book heaven. Only issue is that most of the desired books can't be issued. You have to sit & read them.

Nice place to study .. nd supportive staff but only thing I don't like is dirty washrooms.. but all n all .. DPL is really worth to visit <3

The outer areas of library also has great space and locality library outside you can find lot of good shops and food places to eat as well

Crowd is not good, they don't even think that they are in library. Staff is good, cooperative and helpful. Infrastructure is very good..

Best place to study and you can get membership card by just filling a form and should be attested by gazated officer and 20 rupee's .
