I normally don’t write reviews but after the experience I had with Dillon’s Bakery Shop, I feel that I really have to. I ordered a cake for my daughter's 16th birthday. I am from the state of Kashmir in India and as connoisseurs of good food are aware, there's a mind-boggling variety of traditional bakery products available in that part of India. In all my years I have spent in this country I have never ever tasted a cake like this. It was a white and a purple cake, so moist and the filling was amazing. Thank you so much for the beautiful and delicious cake you made for my daughter’s birthday. I have known the owner for many years now, apart from being courteous and professional, he is a thorough gentleman who has a heart of gold. Thanks to Harpreet ji for getting the cake delivered to my address. I have also tried their pastries, puffs, rolls and cookies and the taste is something to die for - amazingly delicious! Special thanks for the girl who took my order. Kind, humble and patient in explaining everything to me , she was phenomenal in her knowledge about cakes. I wonder now why they have the best reviews in town. I remember a quote by Anna Olson, “ Baking may be regarded as a science, but it’s the chemistry between the ingredients and the cook that gives desserts life. Baking is done out of love, to share with family and friends, to see them smile.” God bless your team and thanks for touching people's life with kindness and love.

Was craving something sweet and when I Google dessert this was the closest place nearby. I walked through the doors and were greeted but when I mentioned I found them on Google, wasn't sure what I wanted and wondered what they recommended I received no response. Punjabi food isn't something I'm familiar with and always want to try new things so I asked again what they'd recommend, again no response and one person just walked to the back. I ended up going with a couple cakes that looked popular as there were only a few left. The presentation was beautiful and I was going to give this a 4 star review instead of 5 because of the poor customer service but then I found one of the cakes frozen solid in the middle. Obviously not fresh and likely bought elsewhere so for that and the poor customer service only 3 stars. Overall the desserts I bought were good, the chocolate was creamy and rich but not overly sweet. I don't think I'll go back but it was a "good enough" experience.

Terrible, terrible, terrible experience and customer service!!! We have ordered a customized birthday cake from them yesterday. They promised to make it as instructed. But they used fondant instead of butter which we clearly mentioned while ordering that we want the buttercream. When we opened the package and realized it’s not even close to what we have requested, we phoned them and explained the whole thing. Instead of understanding their customer’s expectations, they argued with us. Not just the outer layer was terrible, but the inner base(bread) was tasteless too. Since none of us ate that cake, we went back to the bakery to return their cake. They were so rude and said neither we gonna exchange it nor we gonna gave you any refund for it. We just left the cake in their store. We’ll never gonna order anything from them ever again. They are so inconsiderate about their customers. I’ll never recommend this place to anyone. I really wish i could give them 0 stars.

The bestest place ever to buy cake and pastries. Owner is so nice and always helpful. I went to the grand opening of this shop. I am in touch and a regular buyer of this bakery. I have tried every single thing from this place and never found a single problem with them. Here comes the best part of this shop and it is my favorite Pista Rasmalai Cake. I would like to say that if you havent tried this cake yet, please please please try it. It is the bestest cake I have ever had in my life. Very light sugar and tenderness at its best. Love to visit this Bakery once a week just to crunch my hunger of all different kinds of cookies and pastries. All the staff members are so polite and helpful, as my daughters are celiac positive and they helped me to find the best products for them. They even offered me to make some gluten free cakes for my daughters. Keep up the good work guy. And make some more Rasmalai cakes, I will be buying them allllllllll....... yummy.........

Had to order a customized cake for a friend’s birthday. The order took a while to get through with communication issues, but the staff were really polite and nice. Honestly didn’t mind all the back and forth conversations. We got a really small cake and were told that the cake would be $35 which we were okay with. Since we couldn’t pick up we requested delivery and they said it would be $15 ( like omg !) and then tax obviously and we agreed since the cake was gonna be ‘customized’. The cake finally arrived and my roommate loved the design etc on it (me not so much) but we were more about the taste. The cake was horrible. It was as dry as dry can be, and it tasted very bad. I have to say i really think they used a cake mix for the whole thing and probably left the cake out long after baking and i was not impressed. After having spent over $50 for the cake, we were really disappointed because we got overcharged and it WAS NOT WORTH IT!

This Dillon Bakery owner seem to have lot of attitude problem who loves challenging customer. I really don't understand if your any item that doesn't taste good or have a foul smell or stale or not in a condition to eat why we cant return.All he did was just argue to justify it doesn't smell bad and it means we are lying. What can you expect from bakery that runs with sub standards in a desi style. When we try to return the cake what we hear if you want to complain health inspector or call health inspector do it we don't care. This is unacceptable. I think you need to work with real canadian people and they will teach you how to serve customer and how to talk. We are not here for free stuff but people like you makes us feel so embarrassed that it discourage us to even come to any indian food establishment. This owner needs a real lesson from health inspector.

I went to this bakery at 9:00 pm on Sunday on Nov 22, 2020 and guess what!!!!!!!!the lady just closed the shop but sign at the door said that it is open till 10:00 pm. I asked her about it and she said that we close our bakery at 9:00 pm not 10:00pm. I asked her about timing on their door sign and she just said today we closed at 9.00 I checked its timing on google and it showed that bakery is closing at 10:00 pm I drove from north side to this bakery to buy pastries for my child’s birthday but i got really disappointed. I thought the girl might open the bakery and place my order but she just ignored me and went away Guys please improve your customer service. Change your timings on your door sign and google; because this is just a disrespect to your customers

Amazing service and quality. They make beautiful looking cakes. We ordered a rainbow cake for our daughter's 6th birthday and it was a huge hit - it tasted excellent and was beautifully decorated. We also ordered two eggless and nut-free cakes recently and this bakery took the utmost of care to accommodate for food allergies. The cakes were so delicious and just perfect in every sense. One was a Harry Potter theme and the other was a Princess theme (see picture). Everyone appreciated the cakes so much and were asking about the bakery. They did an awesome job - we will definitely be ordering from here again.

We have ordered multiple cakes multiple times for various events. Our favorites are Black Forest and the Butterscotch cakes. The cakes always felt fresh both in appearance and flavor. The best part is that these cakes have the right amount of sweetness. All the cakes we have brought from other places are too sweet and too dense. I am always going back to Dillon'z for any cakes and bakery items. We are even thinking to get a cake just for normal enjoyment even though we don't have any event. Good work Dillon'z, please keep continuing the good quality and price balance.

Best Vegetarian cakes in Edmonton! Light and right amount of sweet. Most other bakeries are overpriced and they still offer overly sweet cakes. On top Dillon’z is one stop shop for indian snacks and other Indian sweets. Plus very well behaved staff. I was able to select the type of cake for my daughter’s birthday by WhatsApp texts. They sent me some designs to choose from. I replied via WhatsApp with the selected design and what I wanted to be written on the cake. Very efficient way to avoid any confusion or mistakes and saves time. .

I'm a very picky person about cakes,have tried almost all bakeries in the city and I can confirm dhillon is the far best in cakes. My favorite one the the fruit cake which I picked up one day without any special occasion because it was so attempting to my eyes, not just the look what the taste was even better it did remind me my young days back in italy. It's just not the fruit cake what pistachios rasmalai is the other top pick in my family. Thanks to dhillon and the backer for serving the community with these beautiful delicious goodies.

If you don't like intensely sweet desserts, this is the bakery for you! Tried their Pista Rasmalai pastry and it was really good that went back to get some for a small group. Everyone that tried it, really liked it and I was happy to pass along the name! The young girl who was at the counter both times was really helpful too. She told me how they can customize cakes, etc. Next time I need a cake, I will sure be ordering from them. Also, good prices!

I bought Malai laddo and kachori. Malai laddo, one of its kind in the city, it's amazing, super delicious, look wise you might not even guess the taste but once you taste then feel the wonderful delicacy of indian sweets. Kachori, I found first time in Edmonton which is a real taste from old Delhi. Stuffed with good amount of daal pitthi. I wish if your chef can prepare Bedmi poori and aloo sabzi also in future. I recently tried this sweet and bakery shop with the Maansik movement with the university of Alberta and it was a delightful experience! The selection of sweets was incredible, with a wide variety of pastries, cakes, and cookies to choose from. Each treat I tried was absolutely scrumptious, with the perfect balance of flavors. I highly recommend this place to anyone with a sweet tooth!

I always enjoy dhillon's cakes. Sometimes, we have miscommunications in taking orders. Same thing happened with me on this shop. My order was a customized cake. They made it wrong way. However, I really loved the way they treated me. When I came to know that my order was wrong, before I get mad, they treated me so politely. All the staff is amazing. They delivered the correct item at my door with 50% dscount. I loved the service. Thanks.

Worst customer service ever. Owner isn’t ready to accept the mistake they made. Ordered pista rasmalai cake for my daughter’s first birthday and they delivered butter scotch flavour that tastes really bad. Low quality stuff. Will never visit again. I strongly recommend not to visit this place . Owner/staff don’t know how to speak to customers they hang up the call ,they need to educate themselves first before running business.

I have ordered from here before and i loved the cake i got and the girl that helped me at that time was nice but this time when i went to order a cake the new girl at front was very very rude no customer service experience what so ever, they do not now how to treat a customer. She was rude and was not willing to help, if you want to have customers hire someone who know how to talk to customers.

Huge disappointment, store opening time says open until 10pm daily. I went with family to buy some sweets last Friday @ 9:30pm & they were closed. Same happened yesterday. Although on door & on google the timing says open until 10:00pm. You should change the time. Today went for veg puff & kachori.. kachori tasted amazing but veg puff is so so.. could be much more tastier. Must try veg puff..

Typically desi bakery they don’t follow any standards of canada in terms of service . We have ordered photo cake for my kid but they have not done it properly half of the photo they have cut and dis appointed us . And even the manager doesn’t care about customer satisfaction. They literally just don’t care about customer and doesn’t bother as if we are beggars… and also over charged for cake

Such a bad experience with the staff . Have asked for spiderman photo cake in square shape and even staff have agreed with us but later on they have given us round shape cake. Also when we talked on phone for this issue with manager even manager have given us such baseless answers. Moreover too much costly place for cakes I would recommend to go at other places but not go to this place.

Very bad experience…. I will never ever go to this place again. I ordered cake for my sons birthday I spend half hour at this restaurant what I want the girl wrote down everything perfectly front of me. And the day I picked up the cake there is nothing on it not even happy birthday. My son was crying all night after . How disposing is that . I don’t want that happen to anybody else.

As soon as I brought out the cake to place on the table, my daughter ran right over. She was speechless and it really took her breath away. I will never forger her facial expression, I could barely even make out “Is this my cake?” My guests loved it as well, they even made a line to take pictures. Was not impressed by the service Ordered first time and will never order again. They didn’t make the cake I wanted even sent the picture. Ot was blank they didn’t write anything or didn’t put any sign. When asked they said they didn’t know what to write as they forgot to ask, they were very busy. Server said they were busy if you were busy u should tell before taking order.

Stumbled across this bakery while just being in the neighborhood, thought I'd try it out. I will definitely be back! The colors of all their treats alone are beautiful and appealing, the flavors are amazing! Nice small place, clean and cozy feeling, nice people working behind the counter, and more than fair pricing! I have nothing bad to say about the place. I'll be back.

One of the best bakery shop in Alberta. I had visited various times and I received a huge customer satisfactory plus all of the staff are very polite and trust worthy to their customer. I had ordered various items from them and not a single complain about it. I am very happy that even I'm living far this place and just to go this store makes my travel worthy.

Worst experience ever had. I didn’t get the cake as I instructed them and which I had paid. When I went to shop to talk the person he didn’t admit there mistake in-fact they are blaming us, I left the cake at shop and the person who talked to me, I think he only knows to make cakes but, he doesn’t know how to deal with there customers.

Bought paneer patties in hurry and later on found that paneer inside is burnt too much for both patties. And when called for telling about the product, didn't get any updates back from them. Isn't worth 6$ patties. Make sure your products are good for customers to eat. Hopefully just ate 1 bite and immediately thrown in garbage. Thanx

Purchased a cake, pastry and patties from this place. Everything was tasty. I got mango cake and it was very good. I also tried their pista rasmalai pastry and it was delicious too. The amount of sweetness was just perfect as I don't prefer too sweet things and they were just right. The girl working there was very helpful as well.

clean place with fresh food items including cookies, cakes, indian sweets, snacks etc. i went on 16th feb for a birthdya cake around noon. the guy at counter was pleasant to talk to and answered all my questions patiently. samosa’s were freshly cooked and delicious, i liked their chutney packing too. thumbs up for the service.

Their baking skills are outstanding. I brought chocolate truffle and vanilla cake for my friend's birthday, everyone at the party loved the cake so much. The cakes had proper and natural flavor. Also, their services are amazing. Everyone should try it once, this is my assurance that you will love their products.

I just had to share my experience!!! I placed an order online from SkipTheDishes from Ottawa for my wife's birthday surprise. Dillon'z team did great work on the order by the little gestures. The food was delicious, and I would recommend this place 10/10. Saved my day. You guys are the best.

We ordered some samosas, it is recommended to order before arrival as they are cooked fresh and take about 15 minutes. There is a variety of yummy sweets, we were offered many samples before choosing which ones to buy. The girl that served us met her job description, she was so sweet …

We had asked for the prices of the cakes and we were charged more than the quoted price as someone supposedly switched the cakes within us enquiring and them packing it (in less than a minute). There is no transparency in pricing and this is extremely unfair. Definitely not returning again!

I visited this place for first time, as I usually do not be in that part of town often. We did buy variety of sweets here, the laddus are nice, date roll and anjeer barfi is something I loved a lot. You stay around this place then you should definitely try it out.

Bought paneer patties today. Took one bite only and felt like throwing up, it tasted like it was stale and was made with bad smelling oil. Was so contaminated and could have made me sick. The least you can give your customer is fresh food if not taste.

Price is reasonable for Edmonton. Selection is fairly diverse for Indian Sweets but some items were missing. Basic cakes and shakes also available. You can get frosting writing on cake for special occasions.
