I’ve been coming to Joel for bike maintenance since the start of this year after being recommended his shop by a friend. Joel is a highly knowledgeable and patient bike mechanic who is willing to take time with his customers to explain the ins and outs of bike repairs and parts. Spending time observing Joel work on my bikes has been a great way to learn a bit about mechanics and maintenance. As my confidence and interest in cycling has developed, I chose Joel to help me pick out, source and build up a new bike. We had a chat about the kinds of riding I’m interested and n doing and we went from there. Joel quickly sourced my All City and once it arrived we spent an afternoon building up my bike from the kit, which was a really cool experience and great opportunity to learn more about bikes in a relaxed and fun way. literally the best. I had a 'plug and play' e-bike converter that didn't really plug & play, and Joel saw me super quickly and turned whole thing around in less than 24 hours at a very reasonable price. He spent ages tidying up the cable routing and making sure everything looked perfect, rather than just fixing the issue and moving on. Now I am zooming around on my beautiful converted e-bike with no issues whatsoever. Joel was super friendly and chill through the whole process and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Doc Sprocket. I will definitely be going there with all my bike needs from now on

Joel is super professional and easy-going, and great at quickly and knowledgeably diagnosing whatever issues you may have with your bike and what needs to be done to fix it. Both times I have gone to him and dropped my bike off he's had it ready for me to pick up on the same day. His prices are reasonable and he doesn't charge for anything extra beyond what's necessary - he'll fix up minor additional adjustments as a courtesy. Will definitely recommend his services!

Dr. Sprocket saved my bike in the nick of time. Couldn’t get my bike serviced anywhere. I was pointed in dr sprockets direction and he took it on without any hesitation and helped me get my bike back to 100% before I had to leave Sydney. Not only serviced the bike but gave me great advice on issues I was having with the bike and how to mitigate those issues to future proof myself. He did this all for a very reasonable price!! 10/10 would recommend.

We often think wistfully yet patronisingly of "old-fashioned service" as if the modern world no longer has need of the values embodied by such a term. I can assure any who care to read that visitors to this establishment will feel they've rediscovered the personal service they yearn for. Doc Sprocket loves bikes and he (Joel) wants you to love your cycling experience. You'll be reluctant to entertain any alternative!

Arrogant, abrupt, dismissive attitude from the first word, and those that followed felt like a huge favour and ordeal over a basic service of an old "not fun" bike. He did put my interests first insisting I save my money and get another bike instead, but no one would be interested in coming back after that interaction. I'll be taking my other 2 "more fun" bikes for a service to the shop 2min down the road instead.

Joel's an absolute legend. Fixes my bike up nicely, and always takes the time to explain all of my bike queries with an immense amount of knowledge and enthusiasm. He has put my needs first, always and is very considerate! He's also got a really cool range of bikes with sick prices. This place was recommended by a friend and he was right, I was welcomed with a friendly face and great service. Didn’t know why bike wasn’t working properly, went in for a checkup. He's definitely definitely knowledgeable and he fixed my problem quickly, although only in the short run. I had to go to another bike store to get it fixed 2 weeks later. He overcharged me, 60$ for a gear cable change. Another place charged me only 49$ to change the cable and mount an entirely new derailleur.

Joel is very knowledgeable and provide excellent service at a reasonable price. I bought the E-MU electric bike that Joel assemble himself and it is excellent. I use it to commute to work almost every day and has been great. Highly recommended if you are looking for an electric bike.
