I want to like this place, I really do, but I've not had a cocktail from here that I've actually enjoyed (personal taste, I guess), the music has always been a touch too loud, and the QR code menus aren't great when you're underground and have weak phone signal. I also tripped on the concrete stairs (both going in and out) which I think might be due to the treading having worn differently in each step. Anyway, I hobbled out of the bar in pain with blood pouring down my leg and a huge bruise across my shin. It was made worse by the security guy seeing me trip but doing nothing to help. Definitely lacking compassion. Oh, and I certainly wasn't drunk - not even close to it. On the flip side, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the decor is kinda cool. You probably won't have an issue finding a table either. The toilets are clean and well stocked, and the same for the bar.

So I know this bar has been around for a while but I don't get into the city much now and ...well ....Covid, right?!. So first time here. Nice New York dive bar vibe. 70s fit out. Crackingly good sounds. Classic soul and funk . But it's a bar right...and Christ this bar delivers. The two bar tenders were as good as I have I seen. Martini's. Old Fashions. White Russians. Amaretto Sour. All perfectly made. This is a bar for serious cocktail drinkers. Amongst the best bars I have been to in recent years, anywhere in the world. Not because it's flash. But because they really care about the craft and the service. Well done to everyone who created and works here.

I had an amazing experience at this small cocktail bar! The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was incredibly friendly. What stood out the most was their exceptional service - they effortlessly accommodated our group of 9 without any hassle. The cocktails were expertly crafted and absolutely delicious. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the unique flavors they offered. It was the perfect place for a relaxed evening with friends. I can't wait to visit again!

Best bar snacks around - all my Christmas’s came at once when I saw pickled onions, cheese and Cabanossi skewers! And even better, you can get a bowl of Jatz to go with it! Winning @timeoutsydney cocktail bar awards of 2020; @doubledeucelounge is underground venue, named after the dive bar in Patrick Swayze movie Road House. It is certainly on theme with the plush walls, old school 70’s snacks and staff sporting some mighty fine moustaches. It was busy so we were squeezed into a furry walled booth and provided with the VHS case showcasing the retro cocktail menu

The hubby and I stopped by to enjoy a drink before heading to the opera house for a show. Alisha & Beryl ( sorry for incorrect spelling!!) were absolutely fabulous and attended to our indecisive cocktail needs and whipped us both up something incredible ! The warm and friendly greeting, the ambience, the nostalgia of the QR cases…. And don’t get me started on the French onion dip!!! Thank you ladies for a great start to our evening! A must visit when in Sydney.

My favourite cocktail bar in Sydney. Excellent service, fantastic drinks and snacks that are life changing. Versatile venue that suits first dates, second dates, work drinks or group catch ups. Table service brings a luxe vibe serving up reimagined 70’s classics such as a White Russian or a Japanese slipper. Classic cocktails are always available and will be shaken and stirred by Sydney’s best mixologists. Strongly recommend for every drinking occasion.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. I think we caught the bar tender on a bad night or maybe we rubbed him up the wrong way, but after a couple of other bars where the staff were super fun and really nice, we were disappointed by the attitude of the bar tender here. He was a bit rude not very pleasant. Put a bit of a downer on the end of our night. But the drinks were nice and the French onion dip was delicious!

Incredible experience at Double Deuce Lounge. Beryl and Alicia served us throughout the evening and we ended up staying much longer than originally intended - brilliant! Sampled a few signature cocktails and ordered some classics too, all delicious and well made. If you're after a classic venue you'll keep wanting to return to, Double Deuce is it! Highly recommend.

One of my favourite places to go in Sydney, I always make sure to pop by when I’m in town. The cocktails are amazing and the service from the staff is warm and friendly (particularly Beryl and Cosmo). Also the bathrooms are always immaculate and they’re so considerate they have spare tampons. Love love love.

Came a bit late to the bar and the staff were nothing less than accommodating. They were so friendly and immediately made us feel comfortable and in a real 70's cocktail bar. The cocktails all have fun names and honestly each taste so good you can't even compare them to one another. It's a comfortable intimate bar that's definitely a good time.

Nice place I like to visit at the end of the night. Great friendly staff and good drinks. So many friendly people around and a good wind down before heading home. I generally end up overstaying. Very hard to leave as once you are in you get comfortable really quickly. Thanks for an amazing time every time.

Wow this place is a must if you enjoy the whole 70's p@#n vibe. Yes that is correct. The decor, wait staff and lighting all flow well and did I mention the cocktails are amazing. Good for a casual cocktail before dinner or sample some local craft beer. I love this place and highly recommend for any local or traveler. 5/5 Double Deuce!

Most delicious drinks of my life in a 70s feel lounge. Double Deuce had the best and most authentic atmosphere when we stopped in on Friday night. We will definitely be back again. Don't forget to try the White Russian if you're a lover of coffee liqueurs like I am. Dealer's Choice for cocktail recommendations was a lot of fun too!

Was recommended this hidden gem in the CBD. Reminded me of Milk and Honey in NYC/London in it's hey day. Sidecar and Full Bush were out of this world. Beryl had me at hello, gave great service and made my night. MJ provided good back up. Go to this bar, it will change your life.

Office building, downstairs, bar, cool and relaxed vibe with friendly staff. What more could you ask for? Great selection of drinks, wines by the glass and the bottle, expertly made cocktails and all around fun times. The menu is shown in an old VHS cover with a QR code to make it extra cool. Get a seat and settle in for the night!

I have been to this bar a few times now and I’d still go again without a doubt! Drinks have been great and the atmosphere to go with it. Very cool interior and its quirky details. Not too loud inside so good for those little chats with friends after work! I haven’t ordered any food there.

Nice decor and unique style! Great space to be in. Not that packed compared to bars nearby. Cocktail creations can be worked on a bit more, we ordered almost all the items on the cocktail menu. The tastes are a bit mediocre compared to the experience. But they are happy to make any classic you want:)

The cocktails here are delicious and the service is killer. It’s a great place to go with a small group with great music and and relaxed atmosphere. The decor is awesome and perfectly fits the vibe they’re going for. We have definitely added Double Deuce to our list of bars to return to in Sydney.

A very nice hidden bar. Some very good cocktails. The snacks were good as well. The ambience was amazing. The lights, the music, the interiors were all impressive. Quiet spacious. The staffs were very polite and pleasant. Awesome service. And the toilets were very neat and clean.

Maybe we come on the night that both waiter and waitresses had a bad day. Both of them are extremely rude with full of attitude. Totally understand Friday night could be busy but the tone they use is rude and showing how less they care about the business and customer service.

Such a stellar cocktail bar. Intimate but fun. The cocktails are insanely good, and the staff is quite literally hilarious. Take a cheeky look at the decor and you'll understand what I'm talking about. Also, please do yourself a favor and order the Full Bush. It's too tasty.

What an absolutely perfect lounge. We loved our drinks, the vibe, and our service. Our server, Cosmo, was extremely helpful in building the perfect drink to my taste (the "Trouble Maker") and to give us suggestions for local sights

This is a great bar secluded downstairs you are able to have a conversation the staff are super friendly and approachable. The price of drinks is around the $25 mark roughly some cheaper some more.

Hubby brought me here. It exceeded our expectation. Perfect place for great cocktails with 70s vibes and music playing in the background. Not too loud, just the right ambience for a sweet light talk. Service is also good. Will surely come back.

Double Deuce lounge is my go to bar in the city. It has awesome retro vibes, the best staff and incredible unique cocktails. It’s a short walk from Wynyard station which makes it super easy to get to. Cannot recommend this bar enough!!

I went so many cocktail bars, this is also the outstanding one. Friendly staff and great drink! I liked the atmosphere in the bar, seems like I was in a diner somewhere with staff whom wore an old fashion sport uniform and hair style.

A very nice and classy local bar with friendly service and excellent drinks. I tried my rusty nail choice here and it was delicious enough i forgot to take the pic before having several sips. Worth the visit if you're in town.

Brilliant ambience. Cocktails are on point. Music is great. This place is a gem with its Melbourne-bar-vibe. Not enough places in Sydney like this little gem. It’s not trying to be anything other than what it is.

French dip a must! Best martini’s in town - would pay money for the playlist. Also the bartender MJ got a new shirt and his chest hair looks exceptional

Great atmosphere and 80's set up. Short but interesting drinks menu. A range of seating options with cosy booths and comfy bar seats. Excellent service from the engaging Cosmo. Cannot recommend enough.

Double Deuce Lounge What a team where 1970’s kitsch meets 1970’s glamour with a twist. My drink of choice is always and I mean always…PERFECTO. Double Deuce Lounge can hold it’s own amongst the retro.

If I could give 10 stars I would! Best bar in Sydney, the best music and the best vibes, I couldn’t recommend anything better. Super warm and cozy, Beryl and Genki had the best service ever!

The experience was a great idea, just a little clunky. The entry 'buzzer' was hard to find, the service was not all that prompt. The cocktails were yummy and the snacks fit the atmosphere.
