My name is Tony and i bought a 2006 650i bmw from Vancouver had to do an out of town inspection so i called around and i didn't get a good feeling from anyone of the places i called, it felt like they were thinking BMW yeah lots of problems.I called Downtown auto talked to phil and Jim .They were very polite didn't rush me off the phone.Phil said to me just bring it in we will check it out see what happens. Very professionally , i was still bit nervous because it was a 2006 Bmw , The counter receptionist made me feel totally welcome and we chatted. Phil put the car in checked everything on the inspection report took about hour and half and he comes out, i say whats the damage , he said it passed. I was very impressed with their overall business ethics and professionalism. I run a business and i know what it takes. They treated me like a person not just another person walking thru the door Thank to all the staff.Highly recommended, honest, courteous , k nowledgable not like the other shops i called. Thank you

I believe any mechanically challenged persons greatest fear is taking their vehicle in for an estimate when something goes wrong, only to end up paying for work you don't actually need. I took my 2004 Chevy Impala to Downtown Auto and Tire because the drivers side windshield wiper was flopping instead of swiping. Philip had it pulled into the shop and fixed in less than half an hour; I asked what the charge was and was pleasantly surprised when he said, "there is no charge." Apparently, the nut came loose and he had his mechanic tighten it back up. I was so impressed with the service and honesty, I have since been back to have a new battery installed and the starter replaced. The cost I thought, was very reasonable. I will be using Downtown Auto and Tire as the place I take my vehicle and will be more than happy to recommend them to family and friends.

Brought my vehicle here with no heat in the cab, they gave me a list of repairs worth a couple thousand dollars involving the suspension, seeping transmission lines and torn cv boots. I mentioned none of this involved the heat in the cab which was the only triage I had approved, they refused to do any other work unless this other list was also taken care of. I politely declined but they wouldn’t return my keys unless I gave them $80 to cover the cost of them checking over the vehicle. I highly recommend this shop to anybody to bring their vehicle for repair or services. Jim the owner and Philip will check around for the best price for your parts needed, they offer you very reasonable rate for the labour cost, they will show you and explain it to you what your vehicle needs to get done right away because they care for your safety concern, and they will also tell you what can wait because there were no safety issues involved. Downtown Auto in Edmonton has been our go to shop in Edmonton for 2 years. It is in our neighborhood and very convenient, as they are located just down the street. They have great ownership, top notch mechanics and very friendly and helpful staff. Their pricing is very fair and overall they consistently exceed my expectations for honesty and integrity. I recently bought tires for my SUV that were priced fairly and Downtown was quick to get them in and install. After 3 days, I found pressure low in one of them and it turned out to be a screw lodged in the tire. They removed it, repaired the tire and got me on my way without charging me for it. I value this type of service and always receive 5 star treatment.

I was having issues with my battery due to the extreme cold. I called them as they were closing on Tuesday and they told me to bring it in the next morning and even let me know approx how much it would be if they had to replace the battery, they even had a sale on batteries. I had bought the car in September and it was a used car, so I also wanted them to do an inspection and it was about time for an oil change. Besides the battery, the only other issue was a ball joint which needed to be replaced. After everything was done, they gave me some tips to keep it and the battery in good condition, they were able to do it all really quickly and I am very happy with the service!

I took my car to a dealership and told them that there were noises coming from front suspension area, and they told me there was nothing wrong. The noise gradually got worse over the course of a few weeks. I was referred to downtown auto, by Dave from avenue auto body. Jim was quick to go for a drive to see what the issue was, we didn't make it out of the parking lot and he told me to go back and park. He got one of the mechanics to take it for a drive and compared their thoughts. Replaced the sway bar link on the driver's side and no more noise. I cant thank these guys enough for making my life a little quieter in my car.. thanks Jim and team, you've got a new customer

Exceptional service at Downtown Auto! I have been going there for nearly five years now and have been treated with great courtesy and fairness. Their service is impeccable and prices most reasonable. During my dealing with them, I have developed great respect for the owner Jim who is a man of high integrity and Phil who is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful individuals. I have taken our family vehicles there for all types of repairs. On a couple of occasions when the extent of repair was small, they recognized my loyalty by waiving the charges, saying "it is on the house". That kind of honesty and customer service is hard to find.

I had herd for years that this place was great. That they were fair and honest and wouldn’t try and sell u stuff you don’t need. I dealt with Philip, he was absolutely amazing! Hes been with this company for 20 years and it shows. I had a leak in a tire which he personally showed me ended up being a stripped tire from my brakes locking. Although they didn't have my tire in the store he ordered me a new one..they even had to go through my disaster of a trunk and took the time to install my spare till I could come back the next day to have the new tire put on. This place is fast and fairly priced service! HIGHLY reccomend them to anyone! Thank you guys again for your help

I took my truck to the shop to have minor repairs and the staff was great. They had to order the part and gave me a call when it was in so I didn’t have to wait around all day. When I went back later in the day they took my truck right into the shop and started working on it. The staff is very knowledgeable, courteous and take the time to explain the smallest of details. Highly recommended for auto services. Jim and his crew are very knowledgeable including the front desk staff. They don't up sale you anything and are very honest with their pricing. I am always happy with the quality service and helpful nature of the guys at Downtown auto. Once I was out of town and my wife's tire was flat. Phil came to my house 5 blocks away and filled up the tire on my wife's vehicle and got it all fixed up. I used to pay high prices at Subaru City for vehicle service and it was exacerbated as I put alot of miles on my vehicle. Downtown auto DOES NOT overcharge, gouge or take people for a ride. They are great with service and communication.

With all the shoddy shops around the city that overcharge and don't know how to do things properly, this is not one of them.. Philip has helped me many times over the years with issues on several vehicles. He has always shown himself to be very knowledgeable, fair in the pricing for the company, and friendly as well. We have been going here for a long time. Jim Noeun is totally honest and intelligent. We don’t know anything about mechanics, and feel safe: We are never over charged or taken advantage of. They just do what needs to be done. The mechanics are good - very competent. They sometimes do small things as a bonus: put on my side mirror and detected and fixed my husbands neurotic window pro bono. Best place in town

I recently moved to the area and tried out Downtown Auto for some car repairs. I found the staff to be professional, pleasant and efficient. Once the service work was complete I received a printout of what other repairs will be needed in the future. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! I live 2 hours from edmonton and at the end of a day on Saturday right before new years I had a tire losing air FAST I was stranded and hooped! The owner and two others stayed for an hour fixing and thoroughly checking my tire. Got a quote for another repair and was good priced. Super friendly and knowledgeable and go the extra for their customers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I was from out of town and heard a loud snap when I turned the corner .. I was able to drive it to my friends house and wait for a shop to open. I had the unfortunate incident of having my tires slashed and had my tires replaced at Downtown Auto. They were fast and efficient and even fixed my other tire which had a slow leak for free. Went to Downtown Auto for the first time. Experience was great! Staff was very friendly and very helpful with questions or concerns that I had. Did an out of province inspection and the work I got done on my vehicle was 95% of the labour and parts I had already figured I would need to pass the inspection. No big extra parts or hidden fees were added onto my quoted price.

Excellent service from start to end. I've been a customer of theirs for a year with two different vehicles, and not only do they provide me professional service from intro to end, they do quality repair, installation, and spot on estimates. And, they had my vehicles both back to me in roughly half the time I estimated, including busy times! Very pleased with them.

Good service, amazing staff, and they did a great job fixing my car. Unlike dealerships who are out to steal every penny from you, Downtown Auto didn't. My dealership told me that I had over $600 worth of issues to fix in my car but after Downtown Auto checked it, they found there was only about $200 worth of work to do. Fixed my timing gasket chamber seal on Ford Ranger. Done in a timely manner. I initially thought the service was pricey, but after comparing online it was a fair price - and they matched the initial quote they gave me. Both front desk people I dealt with were friendly. Most honest mechanics in Edmonton. Ive known Jim and Philip for over 12 years now. They worked on my lexus years ago and beat the dealer price 3 times. Dealer price for timing belt $3200, these boys $900. Parts included. Car ran awesome for another 5 years when I sold it. I Have always referred them to anyone in need of a GOOD mechanic.

I always bring my car here whenever I need an oil change or anything other problems. They do $30 oil changes for students and staff is very friendly and accommodating. They usually finish working on your vehicle on the same day you drop it off and get you in as quickly as possible. Would definitely recommend downtown auto to anyone!!

Great place for large repairs but not so great for minor maintenance . I made an appointment and was on time but I still waited for 3 hours to get my vehicle in . A simple oil change and belt change. Half a day wait after an appointment was made, totally unacceptable. If you want speed and customer service go some place else.

Great service. I can see why my Dad’s been coming here for years. Midas gave me a long list of problems after an oil change. Brought my car to Downtown Auto and found out none of their problems actually needed fixing. They only did what was needed. I won’t be going back to Midas but will definitely return to Downtown Auto.

On January 16, 2020 at approximately 5:15 pm I was driving by Downtown Auto and my low tire pressure light came on. I quickly stopped in to see if I could get air put in my tires. The staff were very friendly and quickly took care of me without hesitation. Great staff!

Had a timing belt change. Engine sounds much louder and ticky. Didnt even fill with engine coolant. Now it randomly has high idle rpm's. Will have to check engine vin.
