First time visiting the garden and you can tell everything from the service to the design of the garden has been well-thought and intentional. Very clean in the garden. No food or drink allowed in. Employees and volunteers are nice and helpful. Can probably tour the Chinese garden area within 15min-1hr depending on your personal preference. Restrooms are clean as well. There’s a room across from the restroom near the gift shop where you can practice calligraphy and drink jasmine tea for free! To exit, you’ll need to go through the gift shop. You might spend an extra 10 minutes in there as there are many cute little trinkets and souvenirs to look at. There is also another garden area connected to the paid garden, that is free, but has less authentic Chinese materials and work. Nonetheless, you can spend a good amount of time in the free garden as it is still very beautiful and spacious.

BE AWARE - if you’re not comfortable with it, the surrounding neighborhood is rough. Open drug use and people sleeping on the sidewalks. This garden is beautiful. There are plenty of spots to take great pictures. There is a small tea room where you can taste free tea and attempt writing chinese. At the end of the tour there is a small gift shop. Ask for recommendations for food if you’re not familiar with the area. We got some great recommendations.

My visit here was quite disappointing. The staff was really strict, and I accidentally brought food since I didn't see a notice about it. The lady at the booth acted like I couldn't read, which was pretty embarrassing. I don't understand why they can't be nicer about it. The garden costs $16 for adults, but there's also a free section that I actually liked more. Overall, because of the not-so-great experience and the nicer free area, I don't think I'll be coming back here.

Haven’t visited the garden for many years. We went to the Chinatown Holiday Market and Community Days with friends. The weather was perfect. David was very passionate about sharing his knowledge about the gardens. He encouraged us to slow down and to notice the contrasts around us: shadow and light, rough and smooth, curved and straight lines, etc. We learned so much and gained even more appreciation for this special place.

Really liked this traditional gardend and the guidebook which was given to explain the meaning of each section which deepened the meaning of the visit. There is a paid section and free section. The first door after entry from street is the paid section and second door is the entry to the free section. The garden has 145 plus year old trees which were amazing to see and has a wonderful feeling of tranquility in a busy city.
This garden is absolutely stunning! Honestly, someone could spend hours wandering through and finding new and beautiful places. If you are able to go during an evening festival, it's even more beautiful as the sun begins to set. I highly recommend stopping here while you're in Chinatown, it's a must visit.

Received free pass and went for a visit on a beautiful fall day. Entry fee is steep for what it's offered, park is small, gift shop expensive, bathroom needs attention. We were given a free brochure at the entrance explaining the features of classical Chinese garden that we kept as a souvenir.

The stunning beauty was in stark contrast to the state of the city immediately surrounding it. A peaceful and refreshing oasis. This paid classical garden is directly adjacent to the free park. There isn't a walking path directly between the park and garden, but they aren't entirely separate either. You can see across the pond into the garden from the park and vice-versa.
A very surreal experience that feels like you're being ripped into another world. Tour guides will typically avoid it because the tourists make too much noise and complain about lack of excitement but it is a very relaxing encounter and has free jasmine tea which is amazing

A small garden in Chinese style. There is public part and payed one. The cost enter to payed part on side is $16 per adult. I guess, the price online is less. The pond is dirty and turbid. There are turtles and colored fish in the pond. There are many plants around.

Very very beautiful garden. The price is slightly higher than I expected, which is the only reason for the 4 stars. The views were incredible, and the greenery really set a calm tone. There was also complimentary tea and a gift shop at the end. Would recommend.

Unique little garden right in the middle of the city area. There was an event when we were there and they offered tea, painting, calligraphy, and paper cutting activities. A good place to take some pictures and just relax and take in the scenery.

It was a nice walk around and the garden was beautiful, even when it's cloudy and raining. The complimentary Jasmin tea was delicious. They had a little calligraphy workshop set up which was fun to try. Lots of little nooks to take pictures.

This is a beautiful, serene place. I recommend the public tea ceremony which was very educational and interesting. I suggest you approach the facility from the west (from Cambie St., Abbott St.)

If you come to Vancouver Chinatown, this garden is a plus to visit. The Dr. Sun statue is much better than the one in San Francisco Chinatown. Entry is free to the Sun Yat-Sen Park, but there is an admission fee to enter the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden.
Small corner of real China. Peaceful, beautiful, quite small and on weekend might be crowded. They offer tea ceremony if i remember correctly twice a day. Worthy seeing for sure!

Poorly kept garden and you’re in and out within 30 minutes tops. The water is overgrown with weeds and murky. No koi fish or anything living besides the weeds. It’s very run down and sad locking.. I think it’s better to save your money and
Beautiful garden located in Chinatown, Vancouver. Within the gates is a serene atmosphere with little ponds, beautiful trees, and heritage buildings. We went during community day and there were vendors that set up shop there, a traditional

A beautiful, well maintained small garden in Chinatown. It brings a peaceful respite from the surrounding hustle and bustle. The garden is worth exploring. I received a map and brochure of the gardens that had so much information. It's
The gardens are divided into two: a paid area and a free area. When you enter the building, you can turn right and you will reach the ticket booth. An adult ticket costs $16. In my opinion the price is excessive. Another option: when

So sad the neighborhood has deteriorated so they've had to do more security measures. Maybe if more people go they can fight back and help restore the area. Lots of history and peacefulness within the walls.
There was no wait time. Tickets were $10 perpax. Nice small little park. Pretty much done exploring under an hour.

A beautiful gem in the heart of Chinatown. Small but lovely. If the chance book the Chinese tea ceremony! You get loads of information, nice talks and a beautiful little tea cup as a souvenir.
Beautiful garden in amongst the busy city. Great history, complimentary jasmine tea, and a fun game to play More
