"Their bread roll could really holds a lot of stuff and the shop does really stretches it to its limit"
"Hot damn this place is good"
"Very generous banh mi for a great price"
SO GOD DAMN YUMMMM!! The bread (wholemeal that was) was so fresh, tasty and CRISPY. Honestly I didn’t expect of this humble shop could get so close to those I devoured in Saigon. Most Banh Mi shops in Sydney fail to deliver the indispensable texture and mouth feel of the bread roll and yet Eddy’s nailed it! My traditional pork roll (in wholemeal bread for this one) was no shortage of fillings and really really substantial. Shouldn’t have finished the whole thing when only peckish but oh well couldn’t stop. The owner couple (only assumably?) was so welcoming and nice. Thank you very much for the delish roll and warm smiles.
Although this Bakery is Closed in the night, There is a presence from Midnight till Dawn so the Baking of the Bread, Rolls, and other bread type stuff. I just went past at about 03:15 or 03:30 and Ordered a freshly "Out of Oven & still Warm Cheese & Baken Roll" , So yummy for a few dollars. So if out after midnight and a bit peckish check out the 'not open, but not really closed' fresh baked delights. : Alan Bond.
Their bread roll could really holds a lot of stuff and the shop does really stretches it to its limit. I never seen a banh mi has so much fillings. It’s has all the standard Australian banh mi ingredients such as Vietnamese cold cuts, pickle carrots, cucumbers, chicken liver pate, butter, coriander, spring onion and seasonings but somehow their banh bi doesn’t tastes good at all.
Hot damn this place is good. Everyone talks about Marrickville bakery but trying both, Eddy's is great and shoulders better. The service is always excellent, the owners and staff are absolutely lovely. The rolls are perfect. Crispy freshly baked bread, stuffed to the brim with filling, dripping with sauce, can't be beat. Also great as a regular bakery!
Very generous banh mi for a great price. I was just...a bit underwhelmed by each element of it. It was tasty, but it wasn't exceptional. The pork, the roll, and the overall effect was a bit dry. The chilli was very subtle, the julienned carrots only lightly pickled, and I think while generous, the quantity of meat overwhelmed the rest of the roll.
Search no more for ONE OF THE BEST Banh Mi / Vietnamese Roll in Australia. The appetizing aroma of the baked bread and generous serving of the toppings , along with their well-prepared mix of home-made ingredients always satisfy my senses. I need to go back tomorrow to grab another one, or maybe later today. Hmmmm.. actually I’m on my way
This place is run by the sweetest couple. I asked Eddy if i could take a photo of him for google and he was happy to oblige (here he is waving to my puppy) I usually get the chicken and pork soft bread option with extra pate and chilli they keep it basic here. But always consistent, delicious and quick. They also accept eftpos!!!!!
I eat banh mi regularly all over Sydney and this place is definitely in my top 3, and they are the most consistent. I get the chicken roll often and it's exactly the same every single time, so good. Generous with the filling, always packed. Whereas other places, even the very popular ones, don't seem to be as consistent.
Love this place and very sad to have moved out of walking distance. awesome pork rolls with really generous filling. I often ask for them to reduce a bit. The couple running the place are also the nicest and most genuine people you'll meet. a bonus that they are never closed
Super friendly service and great products. Salad rolls are awesome (all rolls are great actually), prices are extremely reasonable, and as a demanding French guy I must say I found the bread excellent! Definitely go there if you want to have a quick lunch in the area.
Just tried the knot bread rolls from here today. WOW! Absolutely amazing. I have been on the hunt for the best burger rolls in Sydney and these are on the top of the list. Crispy on the outside, fresh in the centre and MASSIVE. Great price and such friendly service.
You wouldn’t think it would be much good looking at the place but after sampling most of Sydney’s pork roll offerings this simply is one of the best crispy bread and a generous amount of fresh high quality fillings a very tasty roll !
Grabbed a tasty, tasty pork/chicken roll, cheese and bacon roll and a bottle of double espresso for a breakfast for one in the park. The bread for the roll had excellent crunch and fillings were generous. Only $12.50 total, bargain.
Massive pork roll - the most filling in Sydney. Yes i said that. The option of wholemeal helps offset the liberal application of paté! (Edit: 6 years from original review, still the most filling and nutritious banh mi I’ve ever had)
Don't be fooled by the dingy looking store front. This place produces the BEST bahn mi you could hope for at an excellent price. Stuffed full of goodness and super fresh! I always go for the chicken and have never been disappointed.
This place has the best pork rolls! I know the famous ones are in Marackville, but these ones are just as good, if not better! The bread is super crispy and the filling is fresh and flavourful. A pork roll is only $4.50!
Hands down, Eddys Bakery is the best banh mi in the area. Also, the cheapest I have been to around the Redfern/Eveleigh area. Banh mi is big and full of ingredients. Very tasty! Be careful as the chilli is really hot!!
Awesome chicken rolls, I get one each day on my way to uni. Staff are kind when you get to know them and quality is consistent. $4.50 for a chicken roll, be cautious that the chili is quite hot if you ask for ite
Hard to falter this little banh mi place. Lots of ingredients for you to choose, stuffed to the literal brim and just great value for what you get. Not the most unique in terms of ingredients but I
Not sure what all the fuss is. Pretty average in my opinion. I certainly wouldn’t go out of my way for it, and no even sure I’d cross the road for one. It’s fine but no more than that.
Big n Cheap n Tasty enough. Taste is a bit strong but that's the reason why I come back here. Sometimes, i had to wait for a long to grab it due to long queue but it's worths it
The biggest & best pork rolls in Sydney!! The prices are terrific ($7.50 for pork& chicken), the ingredients are fresh & the service is friendly...cannot go wrong with Eddy’s!
The best Banh Mi in Sydney! I'm biased as a local but seriously the Chicken Roll here is the best god damn vietnamese roll I've tried, way better than any in Marrickville...
One of my favourite Vietnamese roll places in Sydney. Crispy fresh roll, packed to the brim with ingredients, friendliest service, and they have a great veggie option too!
Yummy and generous! Great pate taste and lovely, fresh ingredients. Love the crispy bread. The owner is ultra friendly and a joy to talk to. Would come back definitely!
Best in town, always have last minute cravings for a Banh Mi, and you can guarantee that Eddy's Bakery will provide a fresh and tasty roll anytime! Highly recommend
Lived in Redfern for three years and tried Eddy's for the first time. Great value and the uncles are very friendly. Happy to support the locals. Will come back.
A good place to grab pork rolls for lunch. There are chicken, tuna as well as salad rolls for vegetarians. Other kinds of bread and cold drinks are available.
Little place some nice cakes, fresh rolls, but apple turnovers are overcooked very dry hard o bite... Cheese and bacon rolls need less cooking hard...
Had a lot of banh mis and these ones take the cake. Attractively priced, packed to the brim, and the amount of chilli (if you ask for it) is perfect.
I get the salad roll here and they are amazing. I like that they also provide whole meal banh mi and the gentleman that serves me is so kind :)
Don't let the police lockup look deter you! Both the pork and chicken rolls are big, generous and fresh. Definitely good value for money.
Great Bang Mi! We make the drive from Centennial Park at least once a week just to get some nice pork rolls. Give it a try, won't regret
Whilst not as flavoursome as Marrickville, it makes up for it with portion and friendliness. Still very delicious and cheap pork buns!
Seriously best salad rolls in Sydney! It may not look like much, but they know what they're doing. And super friendly service :)
Bread is baked freshly everyday, love the fresh bread smell every morning and the delicious Banh Mi for lunch. Highly recommend!
The lady was so friendly and nice. The roll was crazily big and overloaded with fillings. Super tasty. We will def going back.
Lady was lovely, served me the biggest combination bahn mi I've ever had, great price and very enjoyable. Highly recomend.
Some of the best and most affordable bahn mi in Sydney, lovely husband and wife combo who bring a smile to your day.
Discovered something chewy in my roll. Turned out to be an elastic band. Glad I didn’t accidentally swallow it.
Great local banh mi. Service is personal and friendly. Banh mi is delicious and the portion is huge for $7!
Went there for a quick snack, excellent service, the lady was very kind, and the lamington I got was great
Thought I'd try this local bakery because there was a queue at lunch time. Huge pork banh mi for $8.50
Fresh bread, friendly service and great prices. I get a viet roll once a week... never disappointed.
Delicious banh Mi! Definitely one of the best in Sydney. Always order the chicken banh Mi over pork!
