Went here for late lunch recently. It's a great area but I personally found it a bit lacking. When you are charging $13 for avocado toast or $5 for a simple bagel you need to match service and extras. The food was fresh (pasteries) and did taste delicious. 1. Your water, its tap water. What are you doing? At your price point you need to at least filter your water, even if it's free. 2. Utensils, they come wrapped in a basic napkin. Youre in La Jolla, the epicenter of wealth, you need to pay for cloth napkins. When you serve food, serve it with said utensils. Nothing more annoying then getting your plate and then having to stand up for your fork because you have no table service. 3. Your coffee? Perhaps the American coffee is fine but you cannot just fine grind American beans and turn that into espresso. The espresso was just bad. Do your research, purchase good stuff, Lavazza, Illy, etc. Also you have to do better then just putting it in a cup. No side of sugar, no small spoon, it was really just basic, and extremely poor quality. 4. Atmosphere is fine but you have literal flies (multiple) inside your indoor eating area. In the mid afternoon it was warm and humid inside. Might need to rethink the no AC concept here. The outdoor area seemed nice, had good shade on a few tables. I left thinking this wasn't really a serious and professionally ran cafe. At the price point I expected much more, even if it's La Jolla.

If you happen to visiting or are a local, Encanto Cafe is a great place to visit, not only because they make great espresso and non espresso based beverages, but because they also offer amazing pastries and eats as well. The cafe offers a lovely outdoor patio and very comfortable inside seating. Twice I have had a Cortado and both have been consistently very good on separate occasions. I've eaten a breakfast croissant and a pain suisse (pastry) with pistachio. The pastry was absolutely amazing and the breakfast croissant definitely scrumptious. They put great attention to details as they prepare their food not only for great flavors and textures but for presentation as well. Service is great and welcoming. I do recommend this place to all.

had great experience at Encanto coffee. their breakfast croissant with turkey sandwich and Mexican Mocha were great. Croissant was fresh and coffee tasted delicious. The place is super clean the staff is incredibly friendly, creating a nice welcoming environment. You can relax or be productive, Encanto offers a chill vibe that makes it an excellent place to work. You can set inside or out in the patio. Its located on Prospect Street right next to Cowboys and Mermaid across from Eddy Vs, easily accessible. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you happen to be in La Jolla you won't be disappointed.

Wandered into this place when spending an afternoon at the cove. The ladies working were very nice and gave good suggestions. My friend said their matcha was really high quality! My vanilla latte was extremely tasty too. Be sure to be very clear with what you order; it took 3 tries for them to understand that I wanted almond milk and my friend wanted her drink hot, not cold. Extremely expensive for what you get. 2 drinks with almond milk was $18. They have a really cute indoor seating area as well as some outdoor space too. It has a charming atmosphere to it!

The cutest little café! Stopped by spontaneously while exploring the area and ordered a turkey pesto sandwich. The ciabatta was very good and not over toasted as it often is, so it was a much more pleasant experience to eat. The staff was super friendly and made an effort to interact with customers and make sure everyone had a good experience. Apparently the pesto is made in house! Vibes were also nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

What a gem! This is new to the neighborhood, on Prospect St., and Encanto Cafe has become my new favorite coffee shop/Cafe. It is a beautifully laid out interior and the atmosphere is soothing. The food is outstanding and the coffee they serve is served nowhere else. Everything here was done with so much attention to detail. The service is warm and the owner is so nice! Oh, and the outdoor patio has a view of the ocean. Everyone needs to come see this place!

I came in Aug 15 and the ladies working were such sweethearts! I can’t eat gluten and they can do any of the toasts on gluten free bread, which was super good by the way. The salmon toast was amazing, and it was probably the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had. The matcha and lattes are also super good here and very well made. I’d highly recommend to anyone in La Jolla area.

I saw this cute cafe and decided to stop in. Loved the menu. I ordered a smoothie, matcha tea, and egg croissant sandwich. All were great along with the service here. The smoothie that I had here was not overly sweet. It was perfect. And, there is outside and inside seating, perfect for those who have their dog with them. Highly recommend.

The girls were very attentive, informative and nice. If you love strong coffee come here! sadly I’m more of the I like caffe in my milk type of person. (So we just got a mini side of milk to add to our coffee). I got their sandwich it was on the dry side. Next time I’ll just try their croissant. I loved their patio sitting, will go again.

Hands down the best veggie sandwich we’ve ever had. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. We travelled from out of town and so glad we chose your cafe as a quick coffee and brunch spot. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in La Jolla!

Wowza, this place is delicious and so aesthetically pleasing. The cortado was very good and the perfect temp, I also loved that the salmon toast had grey poupon instead of cream cheese. The breakfast sandwhich was also delicious. I will be back to try their sweet pastries next time

Great salmon toast (crispy+flavorful) and ok coffee(mild and weak). The waiting time for a toast was about 15-20 minutes and the coffee came with a short hair on the mug cup which made me doubtful of their sanitation.

My quad cappuccino was awful; tasted like bitter-colored hit water, had no espresso flavor and they didn't free pour but only scooped a ton of foam on top. So dissapointing!

Subpar food and drink. I had a matcha latte and sweet toast with fruit. Overpriced and mostly tasteless, but it’s one of those cafes you go to for the bougie ambience, not for the food.
