"I had a very negative experience on Saturday at your Engen Winelands One Stop South (Inbound towards Cape Town)"
"Came Out For Breakfast, a absolutely horrible experience firstly the waiter had to be asked to wipe the dirty table where she tried to seat us !! took our order brought it us wrong, 35 minutes later we had to ask someone to take our food order, the food came out wrong not 1 single time has Banda came to Check on us, in almost 3 hours "
"This is an excellent truck stop over to fuel up on diesel or petrol"
"Really shocked and disappointed in the petrol attendee that started laughing at my husband with the rest of the other petrol attendees when my husband asked a reasonable question, and then started mocking us as well"
"Visited yesterday on the 25th again"
I had a very negative experience on Saturday at your Engen Winelands One Stop South (Inbound towards Cape Town). I asked one of the petrol attendants if there was someone who could help me with changing a tire as i was a woman alone with my elderly parents in the car. The attendant told me in a very abrupt and intimidating way that it wasn't his job and very rudely said no and walked away. In all my years of being a motorist I have never been treated this badly at a petrol station. Attendants are usually very helpful and polite and that is why I didn't hesitate to stop and ask for help. I really think that you should have a serious talk with your staff at that petrol station as that kind of treatment of customers are not on. I wouldn't have asked for help if it was something I could do myself and I obviously would have tipped him for his help but after the way I was treated all I wanted to do was get away from that person and that petrol station. In contrast I then drove to your petrol station in Cape Gate. The service and treatment I received there was the complete opposite. When I asked for help the attendant immediately came over to assist. He changed the tire and afterwards checked all the tires air. He was so pleasant and helpful. The service I received at Cape Gate was excellent and the team there should be commended. A BIG WELL DONE! To Gape Gate Engen but a double thumbs down for Engen Wineland N1 South ( Inbound towards Cape Town)
Came Out For Breakfast, a absolutely horrible experience firstly the waiter had to be asked to wipe the dirty table where she tried to seat us !! took our order brought it us wrong, 35 minutes later we had to ask someone to take our food order, the food came out wrong not 1 single time has Banda came to Check on us, in almost 3 hours . No bloody service from anyone asked for a something got told to fetch it myself at the service counter. Now this is the Service Industry, well done Wimpy Thank you for the **** Engagement Breakfast Experience .
This is an excellent truck stop over to fuel up on diesel or petrol. It also brags with shower facilities as well as toilets for the disabled and able bodied people. There is a ridiculously large parking spot for cars and trucks have a separate stop area behind the shops. The place also has an Absa ATM for quick cash withdrawals. There is a large Wimpy as well as a convenience store that sells refreshments. Did I mention the play park for children as well as undercover parking for cars.
Really shocked and disappointed in the petrol attendee that started laughing at my husband with the rest of the other petrol attendees when my husband asked a reasonable question, and then started mocking us as well. Will never stop at this garage again. What a way to treat customers. We decided to not pour fuel like we intended, all because of the rudeness of the staff members. Truly disgusted.
Visited yesterday on the 25th again. Place is going backwards by the day. The bathrooms are filthy and the restaurant doesn't look too clean either. The forecourt supervisor (white guy) is a real nuisance, pestering customers, especially where they may park or not. These are not the kind of people you want to deal with when visiting a business
....as we love the Wimpy franchise for over 40 + years we had to make a stop just to have a coffee after a great lunch at Mellasat Wine Estate in Paarl ! There coffee machine was out of order...and it was awesome as there coffee & cream-ii cappuccinos are always the best!.................just had to have a double espresso after all the wine! Hahahahaha!......
We love Wimpy. Always find a reason to stop. Unfortunately today the service was not the usual fast service. We were served immediately, but the drinks and food really took a good length of time to be served. So we were not sure if there was a kitchen problem. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. The food was freshly made as usual
Stopped at the Wimpy for a quick meal. The kids menu is great, and the game on the back is a great way to keep them occupied. The peri peri chicken wings were very spicy, and lived up to expectations. The bread at the grocery store was fresh which isn't often the case for a petrol station. All round, good experience.
Always a pleasure to stop at this Engen. You can fill up with fuel for your car and your stomach. Staff are friendly and helpful. The place is clean and tidy despite the heavy foot and vehicle traffic. It is also ideally located on a major route. The rest rooms are also always tidy and clean.
Not too happy with the service. Two ladies were talking and one distracted the other (that was helping me). I felt that their discussion was more important than me being there as a paying customer. She was also leaning all over my bakkie even though she clearly could see I didn't like it.
Went there to meet my husband that came back from a business trip and decided to grab something at the wimpy. The ladies were so friendly and chatting to us. Really loved the atmosphere. Even caught the manager dancing with his waiters. Really lovely! Thank you guys.
It wasn't very busy which was nice and we received a very warm welcome. Service was a little slow as there were very few staff, but the food was good. The best thing was the braille menu, I thought that was such a nice touch and haven't seen it anywhere else.
Why cant the wimpy computers print a slip with a QR code? Everytime we eat here or buy something we are told the machines cant print a slip with a QR code? It makes payment difficult and we cant receive rewards? Very poor service!
Bought a Jumbo Double Cheese Burger Pie, which I paid R33 only to discover when consuming pie that there wasn’t any cheese. Also I had to operate the Garage microwave which I find very unhygienic during COVID 19 pandemic
The bathrooms are neat and tidy, there's a Wimpy for sit down or take away and the normal shop to grab refreshments. There's also a play area to let the ankle biters run ragged when you're on a long road trip.
What a pleasure! These petrol attendants are excellent. They move between cars effortlessly speeding up the process. All smartly dressed, all with smile on their faces. We’ll done Engen Winelands South Bound.
I would like to applaud Zimasa for her good service and the calmness she served me with. I had a issue with the food and she rectified it for me with the kitchen staff. Keep up the good work Zimasa.
Quiet disappointing that they couldn’t help me remove a nail on my front wheel even after I poured full tank, you must take after Shell, they fix for free when you pour full tank… 1 lost customer
Unlike other 1 stops, there's no benefits for truck drivers, you get 440l coke even when you pour more than 600l of diesel, they don't accept Clicks cards for points like other engen garages
Bought almost R400 worth of lunch at Wimpy and entire household is down with food poisoning. Informed the Manager and still no feedback. Not even a refund. Will never buy food there again.
I'm a transporter but u can't sleep in place off safety because you don't trow diesel there so they chased us away because of not trowing diesel so you can't sleep there but other cars can
Nice, big and clean one-stop with a small shop to stock up on padkos or grab a light snack. A Wimpy is also available if you need a quick a coffee or a meal to fill your belly.
Petrol attendant don't know how to open bonnet and I had to wash my own window. While I watch other cars drive away, because they were not helped in time.
The WIMPY at this ENGEN shoukd be avoided...bad service...slow kitchen...noisy waiters....a pity because WIMPY is always good but not this one..sad.
It is the last petrol station on the N1 highway to Cape Town and the last One stop northward bound to Worcester. It has a Wimpy family restaurant.
Was very disappointing, personnel is not very friendly, the food was cold and not up to standard. They gave us the wrong bill.
All the petrol attendies were so enthusiastic to help us. And they even all joined in to help wash the car!
Very convenient fuel stop for those wanting to fill up before arriving back or on the way to Cape Town.
It's another enjin one stop with indoor wimpy quiek shop getting more expensive by the day it's a joke.
Service at the wimpy is terrible, waiters are disinterested. Forecourt staff are also quite lethargic
Best service ever, patient and friendly. Other garages can learn a thing or two from these atendants
The Engen store is a bit small so there is not much options, but i’m glad there’s a wimpy next door.
Friendly helpful forecourt staff and neat clean well layed convenience store with good combo deals
The Wimpy there is great but the eats that Engen sells in itself sucks! Service is good all round.
A good place to quench your thirst and stock up for the road. Of course to refuel your vehicle.
First place to fill up on your road trip or last place to fill up just before you get home.
Pretty standard. Has a wimpy, petrol, shop and toilet. You don't really need anything else
Petrol station with truck stop. Has a a 24 hour shop, bathrooms and wimpy. Friendly staff.
Not a bad place to stop for Wimpy if you have to put in petrol on the way to Cape Town.
Very good toilets and nice shaded parking. There is also a fast food Wimpy for eating.
Always worth a visit. Staff always friendly and very professional in what they do
Very friendly staff and a good place to get fuel and a bite to eat at the wimpy
A must stop off enroute to Cape Town to fresh up and fuel up your car and body.
We waited 10 min to be served another 30 for the food that did not arrive.
The wimpy staff is very friendly. The shop is small and has no bakery.
Place where our bikers say farewell after our Sundays breakfast runs.
Pretty much like all the Engine one stops. Clean bathrooms... A plus
Nice Wimpy, with good coffee. Fuel attendance friendly and helpful.
It was clean, but so expensive... R40 for a cup of hot chocolate!
Great manager Shiree!! The whole team was willing to assist
Ideally placed for a quick refill, rest and refreshments
Well, I certainly stopped more than once, sooooooooo...
