This Esso Garage is situated on a main road, therefore becoming extremely busy at varying times of the day. Customers need to be careful, and aware that some drivers use it as a cut through. They drive in through the Out Exit, straight through and out onto the main road. The Tesco shop is well stocked for it's size, and convenient for local people. Helpful staff, but they don't give you the receipt unless you ask.

Friendly staff, stocks the essentials and more. The only thing that lets it down is the fuel prices but that's because its an esso and not a tesco fuel station. Staff are polite and helpful, Jayne in particular. Car park can be a bit awkward when busy as both entrances are at the back of the forecourt behind the pumps meaning that access to the shop is blocked when all the pumps are full.

Petrol station with a Tesco Express attached. Not a lot to say really - well stocked store, staff friendly enough and because of where the site is positioned at a junction, it has multiple entry and exit points. As others have said though, could do with a 'petrol only' till to avoid getting stuck behind grocery shoppers.

  • Mark Roberts

The problem with this place is that if you only want petrol you have to queue in line with customers who seem to be doing their weekly grocery shop. Every time I have been in there are always 2 members of staff behind the tills so why can't there be a fuel only till?

  • Alex Best

Always frustrating when they combine a large shop with a petrol station. You spend ages waiting for the car at pump in front of you to move while the driver does there entire monthly shop. That said facilities were very good and staff very friendly.

  • Derek Hughes

On my nordic walking route so I wasn't there to refuel my motor. Well stocked Tesco retail outlet with very helpful and friendly staff. Got my paper there, some light bites and a lottery ticket; although I didn't win. Could I get a refund?

  • Russ Tate

As with all of this type of fuel station. Too many people fill up then go pay after doing a bit of shopping. You can be waiting 15 mins for them to pull away from fuel pump. Expect a lot of queueing for your fuel.

  • Bolaf Moonshouter

The staff here are amongst the most rudest I have encountered anywhere. They are so abrupt. There is no please or thank you. There is no smiles. You get the general feeling that you are not welcome in this tesco.

  • Jason Thorne

Always glad I called there . Everything under one roof .And the staff are used to me now Happy days . This place DOES do beefburgers And chicken nuggets ! Just putting it out there …

  • Jim McHale

Petrol is 182.9 at the moment which appears to be one of the cheapest I see to and from work. There are others as cheap. Food is as per a Tesco so Tesco standard quality.

  • Peter B

Slow service. Better to drive down hill and pay more and get it the same day. Takes like 10 - 20 minutes to get served as everyone is doing their weekly shop.

  • Krystal Veira

Was a bit busy but that's to be expected. Difficult to keep distance in such a small shop. Had what I needed, this was the second shop we visited .

  • Webster Redway

The woman behind the counter was ever do patient after silly me tried to pay contactless for petrol over the amount hard to insert my card . …

  • Andie Nelson

it's a ptrol station / stroke baby Tesco's. not much to add to that though gap between pumps is a bit tight when some muppett can't park sensibly!

  • Hypnotise

Decent selection of food, drink, sandwiches etc better than the shop middle of duel carriage way, ignore that and come here instead. Nice place

  • Mark Threlfall

Recently with new staff I have really felt looked after here. For a fuel station you'd think your just another face. Very helpful and friendly.

  • Sally Green

There should be a separate line for fuel, if you're in a rush it's a nightmare as often big queues of people buying their weeks groceries

  • Tee

Actually now tesco, good prices on fuel and food, meal deals available and rather busy, little waiting but good 99ron momentum petrol.

  • Richard JP

The pump would not switch on. I had to go into the shop and queue just to get the pump switched on. I was there a million years.

  • Dr Stephen Wright

Great petrol station with the added advantage of a Tesco extra shop open from 6 in the morning until 12 at night. Very handy.

  • Susan Davey

  • steven waterhouse

Waste of time can take up to15 minutes to fill up as people leave cars on pumps as they shop and pay

  • paul illingworth

I find all esso garages to be the most expensive garage's about and only use them if im desperate

  • lee marney

Fuels extortionate. However you see people crashing into the bollards so it's free entertainment.

  • Mike Hodgson

Was great goid customer service. Traffic light system to keep shopper safe was a really hood idea

Petrol and a convenient store don't mix you end up stuck behind somebody doing their weekly shop
