Friendly and courteous staff, but some serious design flaws at this location. While fuelling, if there is a tanker truck fuelling the main tanks, one has to back on to other cars trying to come at you with a lot of driver confusion as a result. Fix this problem by refuelling the main Esso tanks during off peak hours, or allow the fuelling transport truck to be parked in a suitable location that does not impede customer access to and from the pumps. Second reason is the car wash which suffers from very poor user design. After purchasing the car wash (prices from 14.93) you approach the car wash but the directional signage is very poor as it is unintuitive at which end to approach the car wash. Fix this by adding signage to the car wash itself with an arrow pointing which direction to enter. Third problem is accessing the actual car wash. You are told by the attendant to enter the code. When you approach the car wash you enter the code and…. Nothing. Enter it again, wait a few seconds, aaaand….nothing. Then a sign on top of the assembly instructs you to watch a video on the screen. I’m thinking that is weird. I have a code, I have a keypad and that should be it. Buuut not so fast, you have to watch a video, go through an electronic interview where an esso AI asks you to think about the car wash you just bought and do you want to make it better. Yes it actually does that, so you have to patiently wait answer yes or no and then finally when the Ai can no longer extract any more money from you will eventually initiate the car wash. Maybe it’s trying to leverage your inadequacy for not buying the $22 car wash in the first place and now through the magic of AI is your chance to redeem yourself. For me this was all very unintuitive and confusing, so I had to exit out of the car and go find someone to explain how to use this thing. The man and I returned to the car wash where car was parked and instructed me that I must watch the video and go through the prompts, with a sheepish, embarrassed chuckle. So To Esso Managment, make the experience intuitive and satisfying and logical and enjoy the financial upside of repeat clients, but this approach is not the way to do it.

It's ok it's a gas station. Service usually friendly no complaints. The only thing I wish they would do is have both registers open when the person in front of the line wants to play "Ontario Lottery Games". I find it bothersome. Everyone has to wait so someone can play the lottery. I dont think other customers should have to wait while they play or get lotto tickets for different games and different tickets for whatever they are playing. I'm glad this customer has all the time in the world but not everyone has that kind of time. It's not the fault of the staff at all they have to serve all customers but they should have all cash registers open to move lines quickly.

I often stop at this Esso store because I probably go by this Division Street location at least once a week. It's a very busy location because it is a block away from the 401 Highway and situated on the major north-south Division Street artery. It also has a Tim Hortons and a car wash in addition to being next to two different shopping centres and a large number of fast food stores. This central location also contributes to its downside. It is very busy and waiting for a pump is typical. I once observed a gridlock among a half dozen cars and trucks. The lot also seems small compared to the other Kingston locations and awkward to reach if you're driving south.

Pump said one price xx.17 and inside cash said xx.18 they charged me xx.20. I know it's only 5 cents. No big deal but they argued with me when I said at the pump it was xx.17 which takes precidence over the cash register. I'm thinking for 5 cents don't argue with the customer. I also noticed that the pump was at 50 cents before any gas came out of the pump. I may be wrong but this is one place I will not be filling up at again.

Kingston is our stopping point for a lot of trips we take. We’ve been using this Esso for I think close to 20 years now. It can be hectic to pull in and out of during holiday periods but it’s a convenient spot and most of the stops before and after are usually more expensive. The convenience store inside has pretty much anything you’d need for snacks and drinks and it has a car wash also which can be handy at times.

This station requires you to pay-at-the-pump at all pumps. The problem is that the process of paying is long, inefficient and annoying. Way too many steps, way too many offers to upsell you to a car wash or other stuff. Overall probably the worst example of self checkout outside of Shopper's Drug Mart. The best bet is to drive an extra 100m to the competitor.

Normally a quick and easy fill up point just off highway 401... Division street ,Kingston . On site convenience store and located in same parking lot as a small mall and several fast food outlets. Can be busy on occasion . Self serve. Pay at pump or in gas bar. Currently masks are required inside .

Clean and conveniently located near to the 401. Great halfway point between Montreal and Toronto to get gassed up, pickup some snacks and keep on a rolling, with the windshield wipers slapping out a tempo keeping perfect rhythm with the song on the radio (Eddie Rabbitt) …

Just an FYI ... Esso On The Run at 1185 Division Street is the ABSOLUTE worst business I have ever experienced. The men behind the counter are rude and DO NOT follow through with advertised sales and promotions. I would give it a -10 if I could.

Been there twice this week. No paper towels ever in any station. Mentioned it to the people at the cash both times. This is mandatory service that has to be offered at all gas stations. Even more important now to curb the spread of covid.

Yes, I use this place because its usually lowest price, however many times I go in and the pumps aren't working or I have to go in and pre pay before I can pump and the staff are often unprofessional.

This Has to be the worst one ESSO in Canada the fact that they raise their gas price up $.10 every morning till about 10 o’clock and then they bring it down to the actual price per liter

As usual, the paper receipt was not available. I have noticed this at several gas stations. Otherwise nothing stands out as exceptional. The regular gas station.
