Gas station
"I keep getting ripped off here"
"They sell three different kinds of gasoline here three different grades"
"Know I have done a complaint and this us the response I have receive that there gonna take it seriously"
"I got ripped of at this gas station"
"Not the greatest management or customer service"
I keep getting ripped off here. No matter how I try to flip the math, it never adds up. My tank, on average, costs me about 45$ to fill. I was at a half tank, and in the winter I like to keep it closer to a full tank to avoid having the fuel line freeze. I convince myself to fill up there this morning because it's minus 30 and it's so close to the house. I never know exactly how much to pre-pay for in fear of going over, so I figure 15$ should get me at the very least a quarter tank. It barely budged me one eighth of a tank. Not to mention how horrific and slow the service is. I sincerely don't understand how this place can stay in business. Abominable customer experience, plus the added possibility of ripping people off. I just read another review where someone was charged a full tank but only filled up a quarter tank of a Jetta. Dude, honestly, we need to stay the hell away from this place. Oh, and also, the sign displaying the price read 3.9, so I figured it was 113.9, and ended up being 114.9. Not a huge difference, but adds a rotten cherry on top.
They sell three different kinds of gasoline here three different grades. They sell coffee here and food so if you're really hungry you can pick that up too. There's usually two or three people working here they usually stand behind the counter and take the money before you leave. You have to pump your own gasoline here the staff usually won't pump the gas for you. They sell cigarettes here they have a lot of different kinds. They always have a lot of Red Bull too and it's usually on sale so if you like Red Bull you can buy a lot here. They also sell a lot of milk the check the expiration date so you don't get food poisoning usually it's pretty fresh just be careful people. They have tons of lotto tickets some of the tickets are $50 so bring a lot of money. This store has been here for a long time but has been robbed before so be on the lookout if you bring tons of cash.
Know I have done a complaint and this us the response I have receive that there gonna take it seriously. I still have been answer to my question about this employee working in there trying to steal my money, at the time playing lound music, she did not even pay attention to the smallest detail on counting the money and the difference of the color and she was acting like she was high.... Refuse me service and on top of that yelled at me I'm not alound to go back to that tim horthons this my location and i have been a big fan of that place. Know this is ridiculous calling to see how his working because this employee this woman decided to give her customer a hard time.... Also to mention that I need to go only in there when somoene else is working.... This is my location 450 Bank St, Ottawa, ON K2P 1Z1
I got ripped of at this gas station. I drive a vwjetta, I was driving by and I noticed their gas was at 1.179. I was 3/4 tank full but talked myself into filling up because the gas was at a reasonable price. They charged me for 26.360 litters 31.08 I question the person the counter if they made a.mistake, his response was your car does not take 26 litters to fill up, I said it was only a quarter of a tank. He left the store because it was the end of his shift and someone else came on. It says on my receipt the cashier was the manager. Their car wash is always broken and they still charge you for a car wash fully knowing it doesnt work
Not the greatest management or customer service. Today I spent $2 on each of the two vacuums in order to find out that they both were broken. When I complained to the station attendant, he said that the vacuums are managed by another company and there is nothing that he could do. (Ok, fair, but a sign would be nice, and I suspect at least some of my $4 made its way into Esso coffers.) The Esso station at Bank and Heron had a vacuum that worked, and (despite it being managed by the same company) the attendant assured me that they would refund my money if it didn't. If you're peasant enough not to have a vacuum, go there instead.
Signs everywhere, on and around the pump... Free carwash if you are not asked for one. I pay at the pump, never was prompted for a carwash, and the pump was out of receipt paper. Went in for my receipt and asked for my free wash since I was never asked for one, instantly the attendant points at the tiniest of small print at the bottom of a poster, which said it's only applied when not asked by a live attendant. he clearly had been asked this question a million times because he pointed out the poster so quickly. I let them know I'd be writing a review, and here it is. Petty and cheap. Bad customer service.
I was treated very poorly by the attendant at this ESSO. I had purchased a luxury wash from another ESSO and tried to use it. No one ever told me that you can't use the wash at a different ESSO. If I had known this I would not have bought the wash. The attendant told me it was too bad and that it is my fault for not knowing. Then made it seem like I was trying to scam him. I purchased a wash at full price because my car was stuck in the driveway. He did nothing to try to resolve the problem. Very disappointed at the lack of customer service. Glad to know there are other places we can go
I like this gas station and it is my main place to get petrol for my car. I like the fact that you can also get Tim Hortons, a touchless carwash, a powerful vacuum, or air for your tires should you need any of these other services. They also have your typical convenience store and gas station items along with an ATM and a bathroom. It is a very busy place and it is also quite small inside the shop. The staff are usually quite friendly and courteous. I think the prices are what you can expect from a downtown gas station and convenience store.
The store "manager" according to the receipt, was so bad and rude, another customer told me outside "he didn't have to treat you like that". I already put up with the guy wearing headphones and being on the phone on every single week I filled up my car but I've finally had it. I will be going somewhere else. Not only this but the car wash is a rip off. Their lottery cannot be claim so I will be contacting the government authorities if they don't get back to the email I sent them.
I was there on the weekend from out of town, the guys in there were giving off bad vibes. As a female that was alone early in the morning it made me feel really uneasy... there was three younger men working at the time, two at the gas station till and 1 at the Tim's till, they were all talking to each other loudly back and forth and looking at me and the other girl that was in the store at the same time as me. It just really made me feel super uneasy.
Terrible customer service. Had to argue for 5 minutes with Cashier cuz if they don’t ask if you want a luxury car wash you get a luxury car wash free. He did not ask so I asked for my free car wash. I end up having to argue with him and finally he gave me a free standard wash not a luxury car wash which is what it’s supposed to be so I argued some more and he demanded for standard wash back cuz he won’t give me anything. Not impressed
They use the cops to do the bidding for Parking enforcement with no signage and where you can and cannot park. If you’re not getting gas anyone would think bot to take up a gas stall. Just wait for a cop to start yelling at you using his bull horn. Taking my business elsewhere after a year of loyalty. There are 2 lanes worth of width and never had a problem where someone can’t get around you where I parked. See image.
I originally gave it 4 star but took 1 away today. At 8:30pm, I got some gas and while paying for it I bought 3 lottery tickets. The cashier asked me if he can throw the tickets away, the ones I just paid for. I was unhappy and he tried to say I should not be upset. In the future, I would check my receipts carefully here since it seems some staff are either careless, not competent, or trying to take advantage.
This gas station is one of the only ones that is accessible if you live in Centertown are in the golden triangle in Ottawa. It keeps its prices similar to those of its competitors, and offers paying at the pump with a credit or debit cards. There can be quite the weight as it is a fairly small gas station depending on how many cars are in at one time, but the stuff here are usually friendly and helpful.
One of the Jouali brothers (Abdenbi) went above and beyond to help me and my cousin today when our tire blew out (on the coldest Feb 4th in 100 years!) He didn't hesitate to change the tire for us in the most vicious cold imaginable. I would definitely recommend supporting the business of such a good person. Thank you again for your kindness and selflessness Abdenbi! You're the best :)
It tends to always be amongst one of the of first gas stations to drop the price of gas. It gets a little chaotic at times though, with entrances/exits on both Gladstone and Bank st. Staff is super friendly and they even have a mini Tim Hortons which carries baked goods and coffee/drink options. Store is well stocked and car wash is consistently good.
the worse gas station. I went there today to fill gas, the first pump is very slow, seems in 10min just fill out 1L. Then I changed station to another pump. Unforturnately the gun can not automatic shut down when the tank full, so I spilled out a lot of gasoline! I believe this gas station did not do any routine maintenance!!
Great gas station, has Tim Hortons and a car wash. Prices are usually reasonable, sometimes lower than other stations in the area. Great little station so close to downtown. The only downside is there aren't as many pumps as other essos. But great gas station. And the touchless carwash is also great
POOR car wash, and POOR management. They will NOT give you a re-wash when your car comes out of the car wash dirty. Try the other car washes in the area, far better wash and service, and they also have the most expensive gas prices compared to others in the area most if the time
Normally quite busy which can cause frustration among drivers and pedestrians alike. Tim Horton's Express located in the Circle K which is handy but can add congestion to the already crowded location. Touchless car wash is also convenient but adds further congestion.
Upon entering the automatic hand sanitizer dispenser was not working. I told the employee that it was empty and he told me that it doesn't work in a very rude and abrupt manner. And then sent me to the pump bottle he had tucked away in the
Bad custumer service. The cashers and a manager dont live up with WHIMS. Big glass fail on my face instyed of asking am okey they harsess me and follwed me up to the lot. Crazy I felt like am creminal..but I was custume for 8 years.
Open 24 hours a day which is rare "downtown" since the pandemic hit. Open on the weekends right before they close bank street downtown, perfect for late night taxi or Uber rides if you need anything before hitting the 417
Good station open 24 hours. Fuel keeps my car rolling as good as any. But the touchless car wash leaves something to be desired; I never end up with a clean finish even with the premium option.
Asked for a lottery ticket with my Esso points, was answered they can only sell auto wash with points. They go against Esso's own points policy. Besides, expensive and on a busy street
This place can be challenging to get around at peak times but the rates are competitve with others in the downtown and it is one of the few in the area that still has a car wash.
Friendly and very polite staff, sometimes cheap gasoline (check in the evenings), small shop and possibility to wash your car (though I didn't try the latter service).
I remember when that area had a lot of pan handlers. When it comes to pumping up gas, I like it being cheap and it is the worst place to ask people for money.
The Timmy's staff are always very nice. 24/7 is really convenient for me. The phone booth out back is actually a portal into another dimension, nice perk.
It has friendly staff and they are grateful on the cash especially when you see the cashier take off after a car without paying. He caught the thief!
The cashier was a couple douchebag, and the people who come here are also typically douchebags. The car wash is the only good part of this place.
It has a very convenient location and easily accessible. The pumps are relatively new and have touch screens, so entering your
Rude employee, too busy on there phones. You’ll feel like you are bothering the employee for doing his job. (Night shift) joke!
I go here all the time Great staff car wash use my points for Gas and Car Wash plus Tim Hortons is their also very convenient.
Good, clean store. After I got gas, I used the bathroom. There's one bathroom for everyone, so it's gender neutral. …
They screwed me by setting me with the more expensive gas when I always go with the regular and tried to blame it on myself.
Very helpful staff, I was looking for some guidance on a place and they helped me even though I didn't make any purchase.
Tim hortons no food at all? Coffee was old and stale. Had no choice but to buy chips etc. Girl working was unapologetic.
Just a friendly reminder to cyclists. This gas station does not have a universal air adaptor and they don't do refunds.
It is a gas station, but was happy to see they sold a higher grade fuel at regular price when they ran out of regular.
Avoid the Car Wash! $15.80 for just water! Pre soak with soap does nothing! No soap at all! Truck did not get cleaned.
Staff here are great - always helpful and the store is well-stocked. Can have rowdy people at night, but still safe.
Gas stations with service. Well place comming in Québec. Price very similar to Ontario since it is close to border.
Went on a Sunday evening and was in and out in no time. Well maintained. Gas filling went smoothly. Nice location.
Gas is usually the cheapest price at that location for centertown, but the timmies inside needs to step it up
Toilets are always broken or a mess. Also, never had much luck with the Tim Horton that is in the premise.
I like this on route Esso very much. It is bright, has 12 filling stations and I rarely have to wait.
It’s a gas station, it’s fine. Don’t waste your money on the vacuums though, have zero suction.
Amazing people run this Esso location. They are an extremely lovely and hard working family.
They let us use their washroom at night at 3:00 am for the time of Civid -19. Thanks a looot
It's a slightly over-priced convenience store in a gas station. Fine for emergency shopping.
Both the gas station and the Tim Hortons express inside are quick, polite and professional
Good place to fuel up. Picked up a few things. Prices are resonable. Washroom was clean.
The Tim Hortons in the Esso makes the Esso super small when it's busy and th343 not k
Horrible service! I was stuck in car wash for 20 minutes with no help ... Never more
Love the Timmies in this Esso. The staff are always friendly with very fast service!
Quick convenient gas station, arguably also has one of the best car washes I find.
The cleanness of this place leaves much more to be desired…washroom in particular
Convenient location for fuel and snacks. Also, a walk-in express Tim Horton's.
My Daughter goes there quite frequently for gas. She likes dealing with them
Difficult to maneuver around the lot and employees don’t care to assist you.
Decent service here and good gas prices compared to the others in the area
No soap in restroom. Brought it up to cashier and he said he didn’t care.
it is very good to be in the center and close to the highway …
Usually mid range for gas prices a little tricky to get in and out of
Very good spot to fill up your gas tank! It has a Tim hortons onsite.
close to bus routes there is a tim's in there variety to choose from
Busy location, but convenient. Staff always helpful and courteous.
Decent as far as gas stations go. Well maintained. Clean bathroom.
A lot of flies in the bathroom. The area itself is a bit sketchy.
24/h gas statio. Downtown ottawa with tims and convenience store
Great location. Friendly staff. Usually there for the car wash
Typical gas station. Used self serve without any problem.
Good Service but some of the pumps were out of service.
Quick stop to get things you forget from grocery store
Great location and the Tim Hortons inside is also 24hr
I mean it is gas who cares..we pay and pump and go.
Good service, also Tim Hortons inside ,convenient
Awesome station very polite an will serve all
They provide the gas that gets me from a to b
Gas prices are way too high and not just here
Always on point great staff ! Ya Mon! …
Gas prices are definitely not high here.
Nothing special it's a gas station
Coffee and gas centrally located
They sell gas. I needed gas.
Very good fuel station
Very busy!
Good
