Estuary Restaurant is a venue literally a stones throw away from the Hawksbry River, in Brooklyn NSW. With breathtaking panoramic views from anywhere you are seated/standing within the restaurant/balcony and from the dine out seating by the trees. Greated as you walk into the brasserie glass doors by a lovely energetic Hostess, who oozes a knowledgeable & beautiful presence that makes you feel like you're in a 5* Hotel anywhere in the world. The fire place is a grand warming touch to the inside brasserie, where you can see the owners have thought out the details. As the restaurant is mostly glass to soak in the view & the warmth coming from the fire & sun on a lovely winters afternoon. If you still are one to feel the cold you are provided with a blanket if needed. Great to see some local support on the wine list, as a fair chunk of the wines are from the Hunter Valley Region. To take a glance at the menu, you can see that it has been thought out by the Chef(s). With a range of dietary options across the menu which includes vegan/vegetation across entree/main and on the sides, does show a lot of care & passion when it was being designed. Well done to whom designed it as all 8 of us found your food above expectations & not what has been said in previous reviews. To the food, what a flavor sensation where you feel like your taste buds are break dancing. Each meal our table had really amazed us all, as the dishes not only looked/smelled amazing the flavor as mentioned was bang on. Well done to the Estuary Kitchen Team! We will be back in September for the Wine dinner & hopefully again for Christmas. Not as pricey as some people have been preaching for the quality/service & view. It is healthy to indulge & spoil yourself every now & than, with a not so tiring trip into the city for a meal.
We recently dined at Estuary Restaurant in Kangaroo Point and it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is located in a beautiful waterfront location, with stunning views of the estuary. The atmosphere is casual yet elegant, and the decor is modern and tasteful. The menu is centered around simplicity and great Australian seafood, and the restaurant's commitment to locally sourcing produce and encouraging sustainable fishing practices is evident in the freshness and quality of the dishes. I started off with the oysters which were fresh and delicious, and for my main, I had the barramundi which was cooked perfectly and paired nicely with the accompanying sauce. The service was excellent, with the staff being both friendly and knowledgeable. They were able to make great recommendations and were happy to answer any questions we had about the menu. The wine list is also impressive, with a great selection of local and international wines. I particularly enjoyed the sparkling wine that I had, it was the perfect pairing for my meal and the view. Overall, Estuary Restaurant exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality dining experience. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is pleasant. A definite must-visit restaurant in Kangaroo Point, perfect for champagne-fueled catch-ups and special occasions.

One star only however, second star was added only because of the view of the river which is stunning....but ...you are not coming there only for a view! My family and I went there to celebrate my mother in law 80s birthday. We were a bit surprised by the fact that kids menu, well there wasn't any however, waitress said that kids menu has only one dish...perhaps not so child friendly place. Perhaps I'm not in demographic this restaurant is aiming for however, with more-than-standard food prices I would expect more-than-standard service. Staff: Very young and inexperienced in waiting ladies gave us a bit of visiting a pub feeling. Supply the food and walk away. Kind of like McDonalds with waitresses. Food price; in comparison to the quality of service VERY expensive. Smoked salmon (fresh salmon! which was very nice) for $40. Smoked salmon could have been treated with higher quality of cooking to justify the price and it seemed the chef was trying too hard! Also, inexperienced staff was also making the food quality / service quality too big of a contrast. Pros: the view, tranquility, fresh food. Cons: Service, cost (in comparison to the service), food quality (in comparison to the price and the service), plastic chairs on which in 36 degrees you are glued to.
To be fair and balanced, there are some really good positives about this place. The ambience was beautiful; tables right next to a roaring fire, small, intimate, good music. Fantastic location, we went for dinner, and when we got out of our car, we just stood there looking at the fantastic view of the river for like, five minutes. The staff (though we only interacted with the waiter) (though also to be fair, a lot of the other review's have called out this exact guy for severe racism) were also really nice. Very friendly, came to check up on us regularly and just really nice and genuine. However; a restaurant does come down the food, and this is where the Estuary disappoints. First of all (my partner and I are both vegetarian) there is a very disappointingly small amount of vegetarian friendly dishes (admittedly, a trend I've noticed with MANY restaurants). We ordered the only two vego dishes on the menu and they were extremely mediocre. My partner said that her dish was unevenly cooked and my dish (BBQ'd mushrooms on a bed of wild rice) was very bland; on top of which, the food was VERY overpriced. We paid $135.00 for our dinner (1 starter, two mains, 1 side and a couple of cheap drinks) and we definitely did not feel that we got our money's worth.
Had lunch here last Sunday, the doors were wide open with a strong direct cold breeze. The staff were inconsistent towards the comfort of a few different requests from their customers to shut the doors. It was windy and uncomfortable to enjoy. Blankets provided were only for outside customers were not allowed indoors eventho the biofold doors were open- i was blamed for not "dressing for the occasion" when i grabbed a blanket for my 8yr old daughter- however im confused on the purpose of booking inside tables, thinking I'll have the comfort of indoor experience dining without the outdoor elements. I personally will not recommend anyone to experience the rude customer service myself and my 8yr old daughter had to sit through. And the health risk it presents itself to sit through. It's the reason why I refused to order cold drinks or extra adding to the freezing temperatures inside the restaurant & left as soon as the meal was paid for. Eventually after a few more requests from other customers complaining about the windy temperatures, the doors were finally closed but the head waitress could clearly see i was not impressed with it not done sooner. The food was cold and sauce was runny, missing flavour. Presentation was nice but unable to enjoy.
I went here on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30pm. The restaurant wasn't busy - plenty of free tables and no 'reserved' signs on them. My partner and I asked for a table, only to be advised by the front of house staff member that the "chefs aren't coping" and they couldn't seat us, despite the free tables. First time for everything I suppose! Fair enough... We were then invited to order takeaway at the kiosk, which is operated out of the same kitchen. If you've driven all the way to this place, you haven't done so to get takeaway and sit in the carpark to eat it. As an alternative, I suggested that we order from the kiosk (which was prepared by the same chef team and somehow coping..) and eat at one of the tables in the restaurant that was free. I was actually pushed out of the way - pushed - by the staff member who said "Please don't do this to me" and virtually had a breakdown in front of my partner and I before heading through the door into the kitchen. I feel bad saying this, but she was severely unfit for the role and was panicking. This place has great potential, but they need to get a better team of staff. I have also heard they didn't open one day because the chef just didn't show up?
Firstly the surroundings & location of The Estuary is one of the best I’ve encountered. I've been in Brooklyn for 20 plus years and we never tire of the Hawkesbury and its natural beauty. Having spent many years travelling we find the location hard to beat. Today’s visit to The Estuary was to say the least disappointing. Our friends from Sydney wanted to experience The Estuary. The service was exceptionally slow and the portions were sparse considering the pricing. The cost involved in an extra half tomato or 2nd mushroom etc is minimal, likewise the Goats cheese on 2 of the meals was almost non-existent. It would have been nice if the Sourdough was buttered or at least we were given the option of butter. Again we had to ask for a second round of drinks. Today was obviously busy with several references made by staff as to how busy the restaurant and take away were and only 1 coffee machine. I would have expected better service given larger groups of guests usually book. We noticed numerous other tables waiting and guests getting irritated with the slow service. Today’s visit was our 3rd and likely our last. I hope my comments are taken constructively and not as a moaning customer.
The owner was extremely rude. The first time in Australia we faced a racial discrimination. There were so many empty tables but the owner wants you to wait outside to be seated. He will not allow you to use the toilet unless you have ordered food. Does not matter if you have a pregnant woman and kids !! We ordered food and he never visited our table though he asked around other ( European descent) customers to know if they enjoyed the food !!! We stopped there from our long journey from Nelson's bay as our friend who is pregnant needed to use the toilet. There was no other public toilet there. Learning that the owner won't let us use the toilet unless we ordered, we decided to order something , went in and talked to a waiter (who asked us to sit wherever we liked). As we escorted our friend to the toilet after securing a table, the owner almost jumped to block her from entering the toilet !! It was quite an educational experience for us to learn that people can still run their business with such an attitude !!! Never ever visiting this restaurant. A shame on earth on 21st century.
Been to this restaurant 5 times and you never know what to expect. Most of the time it has been disappointing. Food very inconsistent in taste and portion size. Once we got an entree with 6 scallops, next time same dish 3 scallops and nothing like original dish. Today my main course was like an entree, six mouthfuls and the fish was gone. Smallest main course I have ever had in a restaurant,$38 a bit steep for what you get. Some portions very stingy. Last time I had the pork and served in a bowl, you could hardly cut it without it flying all over the side.Pork came out nothing like they described it.Wasn't slow cooked & crispy it was just a fried pork fillet. Its a fabulous location, some staff great while other staff leave something to be desired. Really need to get their act together if going to stay in business. People like consistency. Won't be going back, will just have t/a coffee and admire view. Also don't have a clue how to make Expresso Martinis, served up a diluted coffee, not a shot, worst one I have ever had. Has so much potential but never fails to disappoint.
How to ruin your day! Reading some of the other reviews, something must have gone wrong on our day at the Estuary Restaurant. We were a 'walk in' on a busy day, and were told so on three occasions, making us feel as though we were intruding on the staff. Apparently, even though you can get a seat, you don't deserve the same service as with a booking. The service was appalling having waited about 45 minutes for our meal, with one waitress actually being rude to us, again indicating that we were only a 'walk in' and would have to wait until all the booking orders were filled. We could have understood that if the waiter and waitress had been a little more friendly and maybe offered something to nibble on while we waited. However, no friendliness, just rudeness. The food was mediocre and not worth the price. One fish dish was cooked just right, the other overdone. Have had better at the local fish and chips shop. The view was good.
This place is a contradiction in terms. Website implies that it’s a restaurant . We book a table . Arrive , are greeted by a waitress and shown our table with disposable cutlery . Order your food and drinks outside at the takeaway kiosk despite there being a fully stocked bar inside the dining area . The $29.00 fish and chips arrives in a cardboard takeaway tray , every diners meal arrived in cardboard trays . Glad I didn’t order the $38.00 confit duck to be served in a cardboard tray . Even the French Onion soup was served in a cardboard bowl . Felt sorry for the group dressed to the nines for a birthday who arrived probably thinking the same as us . Food was great , but everything else was somewhere between disappointing and confusing .

Awesome location, stunning view, Beautifully designed. This place has soooo much potential. Food and service were quite a let down. Food was tasty but for the price there was no fancy ingredients and the serving size could have been bigger. We paid $24 for the big breakfast and we were still hungry afterwards. Our children got the kids waffles and it was quite small and they were still hungry afterwards. Coffee was very good however. There was also something written on the menu about a "sharing service fee of $10" which I've never heard of and none of the staff could tell us what it meant. Perhaps this restaurant should have invested more in building the reputation based on Quality food and service rather than the fancy building and decor. Please note: High chairs are not provided for children but the staff did notify us of this when we booked and said we could take a booster or pram.
I had a Garden Salad from the Bistro. It consisted of lettuce, onion and one and a half cherry tomatoes drowned in a mouth burning onion and vinegar dressing. I was given a refund when I complained, but also told they are famous for their salads and dressings! Infamous in my opinion. A garden salad should contain more than three vegetables and they should be in reasonable proportion to each other. Also, I had a flat white coffee with two sugars. The coffee was barely warm. I drank the unappealing coffee, finishing off with a mouthful of sugar at the end. Is it rocket science to know that sugar in coffee needs to be stirred? I was thoroughly disappointed with the food. The senior staff deigned courtesy and were very aloof.

We were tired and when we arrived , it was about 11am. We had driven from Kiama so we were looking forward to a nice toastie and a coffee, there was no menu to be seen only pies and sausage rolls on the counter. We didnt ask or was not offered a menu. We were greeted friendly. Though it was just us and just 2 coffees and 2 sausage rolls ordered, it was slow. The lady did deliver the gourmet kranksy roll and pork and herb roll. The rolls were not hot in the centre and we were disappointed, as for $12 a roll we expected them to be a lot better than an average sausage roll. The coffee was good. The lady at front counter was friendly. Parking was not very well sign posted. We were towing a van. We parked in a bus zone as there was nowhere else to park a van. Overall not a very good experience.

I always read reviews. But I don’t take much notice of them unless all the reviews are lousy. It’s all about attitude and what you expect. The Estuary Restaurant has the best location and the view is great. You can sit out on the deck, and even on a sunny autumn Sunday the gas heaters certainly warm you up. The Estuary is not cheap, but the food is substantial and of a really high standard. I’d reckon it’s a place of international standard, and a great choice if you want to impress your overseas visitors. To give you an idea, $200 for two. That’s three courses, a couple of scotches each. It’s a filling lunch, but I reckon it’s worth it. The waiting staff are great. The guy who looked after us was attentive and pleasant. If you’re undecided, I’d say that we would definitely go back again - you don’t do that if you don’t like a restaurant.
Horrible staff. Went there today around 1pm before the fabulous oyster tour. Wanted to grab a bite to eat and use the bathroom before the tour. As soon as the lady heard we were there for the oyster tour she locked the bathroom. When I asked her where is a restroom she said “just locked it you’ll have to drive to the truck stop” Absolute disgrace. She continued to close the place up and refuse to talk to any new customers willing to pay. Unfortunately because of her horrible attitude she lost a lot of money for the company. If I was a wise business owner I would definitely review why my staff was closing up shop at 1pm knowing there would be willing customers around for the oyster tour. Definitely steer clear of this place.
We wanted to share a special lunch with two of our valued friends. We loved the location of Estuary Restaurant but written reviews were not encouraging. However, we decided to give it a go. We were sooooo glad we did!!!! Even though the weather was rainy, the setting overlooking the Hawkesbury River was beautiful. The service was EXCELLENT. We were welcomed. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were happy to take photos for us. The food was artistically served and absolutely DELICIOUS, desserts were scrumptious and the coffee was perfect. WE'LL BE BACK!!!!! Sometimes the only people who write reviews are the grumblers. Glad we chose to try Estuary Restaurant for ourselves!!! ✔
Food is great but lady at register is rude. We had a big group of 10 people order at the kiosk there. They had kindly brought out the food to us on the back balcony but had forgotten to bring out one dish. When I went to the front to ask them about it, the lady said that she had already sent the dish out when it was obviously missing from the table. She then proceeded to ask the waitresses to tell me that they had brought the dish out (looks like they were scared of her). So they refused to bring out the missing dish to the table and I was scammed of my $26 dish. Definitely would not go again.
My wife and I had the pleasure of visiting Estuary last weekend. The Kiosk located out the front is a wonderful place to get takeaway and to sit back and relax with the view of the river. I would like to give a shout out to the lovely lady that made our coffees, even though we are in another lockdown situation she was so happy to be serving and made us 2 of the best coffees ever. We did not get her name though we would like to thank her for making our day feel special. We cannot recommend this place highly enough for the outstanding customer service and also the location. Thank you
Fantastic lunch at the restaurant today. Myself and my partner have eaten here several times. Food is great and we have always found the staff to be cheerful and attentive. We will definitely be returning. I have read some reviews complaining about using the restaurant bathrooms and find them petty and unfair. I have worked in hospitality and people can leave bathrooms in shocking states, why should a restaurant have to pay staff to clean up after non-paying customers??? Also, to get to the estuary you have to come off the motorway, and there are public toilets at both off ramps.
I love this place! Dry in a beautiful location at Kangaroo Point, with views across the Hawkesbury to Spectacle Island and Long Island. We enjoy coming here for breakfast or lunch, and we get takeaway and sit on the deck in the shade of the trees. The fish and chips I had last visit was excellent! Very generous portion and cooked perfectly. My daughter enjoyed the salt and pepper squid and she too was very impressed. Their dinner offering is very good, we've enjoyed a number of meals here over the years. Highly recommended

Very surprised by some of the poor reviews for this restaurant as 6 of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch there today. There was plenty of variety on the menu, including sides of salad or vegetables, and the prices were comparable to other quality restaurants. The chef was happy to make slight changes to many of the dishes on the menu to accommodate my gluten free needs. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive and the decor was fresh and tasteful. And lastly, that view ..... magnificent. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and we will return.
Enjoyed our meal. Service was good. Staff friendly. Enjoyed the burgers.Great place to sit on the balcony and enjoy the water views. This used to be a sit inside restaurant (which is currently closed). Now you order from the takeaway window and sit on the balcony or outside area.

This venue is in an awesome location and has great potential. Unfortunately the owners are incredibly rude, obnoxious and aggressive. The owner shouted at me to move my car then locked the toilet gate on me so I couldn’t get out assuming I was from a local Oyster tour. The silly thing is, people who eat oysters are generally willing to spend good money on food, so they are really shooting themselves in the foot. I won’t be going back here, they are plain awful.

Outstanding service, food, decor and view. Beware the temptation to try everything on the lunch menu. Oysters, Chilli mussels, Seafood chowder, Aranchini balls, Leek and Barramundi pie plus beautiful sourdough. Yep we ate it all. No room for any of the desserts that sounded delicious or even coffee (have previously had coffee here, it's good). Staff were attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations. The Chef turned out some very impressive dishes. Will be recommending this restaurant to friends and family.
Is review is for the little kiosk window at the same location. Outdoor seating only available until the restaurant open at 12pm. The business is situation on the point overlooking Peats Ferry Bridge with easy of parking situated close by. Food did not particularly reflect any Japanese or Asian infusion if you compare to other fishing and chip stores which made the pricing did not reflect what people are visiting for and therefore found this location to be overpriced if their going to serve food from a frozen bag.
I would love to tell everyone Jen and me had a fantastic time but unfortunately i would be lying. The food was okay, but honestly $71 for fish and chips is way over the top salad chips and a bit of fish. Seriously, I was a fool for paying that the view is good. You have to get your own cutlery, you don’t get any water pretty basic, I think the only way they’re getting away with it is because of view it’s fantastic $71 for two people fish and chips. I was a fool for paying it. Do yourself a favour and be mindful
Bland tuna ceviche. Just diced tuna. Overcooked duck. My daughter got a hamburger for $20 that was super sized for kids and overcooked. Menu states child gets complimentary bowl of two scoops of ice cream with toppings and sprinkles. She was very excited. They came out with a single scoop of vanilla ice cream in a small cone. Could of got the same thing at McDonald’s. Service was amazing but super underwhelmed by the chef. Won’t be back. I love my fine dining, but a massive disappointment. View was nice.
The standard of the restaurant has improved a lot recently. Food was fantastic today. The frying whole fish with Malaysian style sauce a great special of the day. Slow cook pork so tasty. Oysters very fresh with 6 different sauces on each. Lemon sorbet in middle of the courses very well thought. Lamb and beef stick all good! Oh almost forgot that the green beans fried with slices of ginger made the meal healthier LOL. What a rich lunch with the unbeatable water view! Will definitely be back soon.
This review is for the kiosk on the right side of the restaurant. Overpriced, tasteless and clearly used frozen food. They also wanted to make me pay for the ketchup! Nonsense when you are paying a heated up frozen lunch at $22. All the food is too expensive. I also asked them to remove betroot from the burger and they were not accommodating at all about it, telling me it was not possible! I had to remove it myself, which is fine but why couldn’t they do it themselves? Will never return.
This restaurant has million dollar views where you can smell the briny and enjoy the cool breese on a hot summers day. What a great place to meet my daughter and her husband for lunch halfway for all of us. We all enjoyed the seafood salad and chips together with a nice cold beer. Mu husband and i will be back for dinner bringing friends from the Central Coast. This place that a lovely spacious feel with friendly staff and heaps of parking. Thank you for making the day a memorable one !
The most amazing lunch I’ve had the pleasure of having in a long time. The restaurant matches the view spectacular experience. The food was exceptional the staff and service was on point and beautifully friendly and professional could not asked for a better day thanks to Mother Nature as well would recommend this restaurant to families and couples or even individuals wanting to make any day a treat and now a tapps bar below can’t wait to try that as well ! A must go !!!!!
We have a catch up here for the last 4 years....today was the last...the waiter was incredibly rude.....my blue lamb rump had to be sent back when I ordered it well done....the service and the meal were atrocious.....we had a booking and 10 minutes into it we were told if we could hurry up and order that would be good as we will require the table for later....they did give me a free glass of wine for the rump debarcle....that did not suffice...just awful. Not going back.
Driven and Ridden past countless times over the years and finally called in and not disappointed. Picturesque views of the Brooklyn Waterways with your choices ranging from a public bench area to cafe seating outdoors serviced by a takeaway kiosk (as part of the restaurant), to an ideally situated restaurant poised with great sweeping views. Restaurant Menu looks appealing and based on the tasty takeaway breakfast we had and enjoyed on the deck, should be fabulous.
Todays visit was nothing like a few months ago. I need to take back my rave review. The food was so different. The duck pie $15 was really missing the leak and any form of seasoning at all and was so oily I felt I’ll afterwards. The croissant was also so different to last time. Today was like a frozen supermarket croissant. Lovely spot but we felt the food didn’t match the scenery today sorry. Sad when you recommend something and make it a destination.
What was once a 5 star experience has slowly deteriorated since opening a few years back. The first time I dined at the Estuary was a very pleasant experience. The service was first class right down to the table cloths. With every visit I've seen a decline in service and a decline in the staffs willingness to simply be hospitable. This is a real shame as the Estuary occupies one of the most beautiful positions between Sydney and The Central Coast.
Only ever had take away from here - staff always very nice, location great, views great, coffee can be a little hit and miss, take away food, aside the bacon/egg roll, are ok, not groundbreakingly good, is a little expensive as well - all things considering - and considering what's around you it's good. Could really got just that little bit extra and be an amazing take away experience. One major downside (IMO) is that breakfast menu stops at 1030!
Open only for takeaway at the moment but well worth the trip. The duck pie is delicious and seems to be a favourite for many visitors. Also recommend the beef burger. Beautiful day, great food and an awesome view !

Lovely view ...but take away whiting was pricey which we don't mind..... but sadly cold and dry and small and not nice salad; but chips were yum ..amazed would not give me a tap water ! .... The cappuccino was not nice coffee and no chocolate on the top....never had a capp without chocolate. Sorry to give a bad review but really hope this helps owners ? .....will definitely come back again to give a second chance...thank you.
Near Brooklyn, north of Sydney is a great place for fish and chips. If you want restaurant quality food without the formal atmosphere then the Estuary Kiosk is worth a visit. The only downside is that take-away coffee orders seem to go in the same queue as orders from the restaurant, so you have to wait. The food is great though - and they give you a buzzer for when it's ready, so you can wander off and enjoy the view.
Celebrated our friends birthday today , it was our first visit and best experience ever. Beautiful views and perfect weather today. Service was exceptional ,every single staff went above and beyond to accommodate us in every way. Food was amazing, everything was delicious , especially the chocolate fondant. Just to die for I highly recommend Estuary Restaurant. Thank you to the whole team ans and the owner.
Great location, right on the river. Peaceful setting. Really nice restaurant, just be aware there is no air-con for those very hot days, but when there is a breeze from the river it is very comfortable. Kiosk is great for a quick meal & serve Whithams coffee which is awesome. The prices are a little steep. This is a great place to take someone 'special' for a treat. It has a good connection to the motorway.
Really disappointed with the breakfast menu, the food was ok, nothing special for the price and the the poached eggs were not runny at all. Furthermore my coffee had to be returned because it tasted funny, like dishwashing liquid mixed with coffee (think the cup wasn’t washed properly) the replaced coffee was great though and the people were nice but won’t be going back there for breakfast any time soon.
Had a rest here as a stop over and ordered takeaway as the restaurant was all booked out. Very beautiful view and the food was actually not too bad, the batter for the fish is thin and crisp;very fresh, very nice. The lady at the takeaway counter was the sweetest. Even when it's takeaway she still helped carried the food to the guests. Very friendly staff. Recommened place to try. Suitable for couples.
We recently enjoyed a wonderful family breakfast on the balcony of the Estuary overlooking the pristine Hawkesbury and its surrounds. Sue Ellen and her friendly team ensured we were well looked after. Lovely food and well portioned for some of our hungry family. The courtesy pick up from the railway station was a bonus making our trip from Sydney even more memorable. We'll definitely be back!
Excellent fish and chips using flathead. Well worth the price as they use high quality ingredients. Beautiful location by the river to enjoy the food.

Staff were very rude to non patrons. We had lost our car keys and attempted to ask the staff if anyone had handed them in, we were then abused with ‘this is a private function you need to leave’ without hearing what we had to say. No help, it doesn’t cost anything to be nice in life and they wasted 10 seconds by repeatedly saying we had to leave instead of hearing what we had to ask.
Food alright, terrible customer service. Charged $1 for a portion of tomato sauce to go with my pie and chips, $2 for two portions. Shocked by the nasty comments made. Apparently “every single restaurant and cafes charges them now”. I go “no my dads restaurant doesn’t”. She goes “well is it still open?” Unacceptable nasty comment

Nice spot, nice view, relaxing. The coffee is roasted by Withams Coffee Roasters at Hornsby and delivered weekly, from what the guy said. Great coffee. The snapper was a pretty substantial slab of fish and it was cooked perfectly, the chips were proper nice chips. Salad was good. The food was on the expensive side, easily double of what you'd pay elsewhere. Hope this is helpful.
We went for a morning drive and brekky at the Estuary and the views were perfect. You can sit at the veranda and enjoy the breeze. The lady who served us has an amazing smile that you can see even with her mask on. The place is a nice quick getaway to release some stress off a weeks work. Our breakfast was perfect. Loved the coffee and fresh juice. Highly recommended.
The waiter wouldn't allow us to sit and order coffee at 8:30pm when the restaurant was 2 thirds empty as they are a Al acart restaurant. I would understand this if people were waiting for tables and we were preventing them earning a decent bill but this was not the case. We probably would have ordered dessert. Very disappointing. 1 star cos the chef was cute.
We had a wonderful time, the food was excellent but the service was remarkable. Our residents here at Greenwood Allity were treated with such respect and catered to beautifully. We truly appreciate the effort the staff went to and will definately be back. A huge thankyou to you all.

Stopped for a quick look one weekend and had great coffee and cake from the outdoor kiosk, the pork and fennel sausage rolls deserve special mention! It was so nice we came back the next weekend for lunch in the a la carte restaurant. Fabulous food and service with amazing views of the beautiful Hawkesbury River, definitely going on the favourite list!
As a group of 8 long time friends we have lunched at the Estuary a number of times & with the end of lockdown we visited once more yesterday. The service, as always, was excellent with wonderfull friendly staff. All of us enjoyed our entres, mains & deserts. Excellent food without being overly sculptured like many restaurants. Will always return.
Food & drink was good. Three waiters and one waitress took turn to serve our table. They were friendly, handsome and pretty. View was nice. Wish there were enough signages to help me find the place and the carpark. It would have been great if the place had some sort of acoustic material to absorb the very loud talking noise by the other tables.
We just had fantastic lunch here, fish chips and salad were beautifully cooked and very generous size. Great spot with a beautiful view, we'll definately be back. Thanks Estuary

Overpriced and disappointing dinner menu. $60 for a seafood ‘tower’ that consisted of 4 prawns, 4 oysters and a couple of pieces of average calamari. Not at all worth the prices they charge for quality or portion sizes and would not recommend to anyone. Plenty of better places around that offer nicer food with a similar view.
The waiting staff were not very friendly, the waiter did offer to take our photo though. The food was just OK, however the fries described as thick cut were re-heated frozen chips. There were not enough single glass options pn the wine menu. The restaurant itself was well appoined with fantastic views. I will not go back.
We always sit outside under the tree and get our lunch from the Kiosk, the fish and chips (Flathead) here is the best ever and the servings are very generous. We also had the Salt & Pepper Calamari which was Gluten Free and really delicious. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the passing boats on the Hawkesbury River.
The restaurant isn't actually open just the Kiosk, we headed up there for an anniversary lunch as we have been before but it was just a Cafe hole in the wall. So don't bother coming if you want to eat inside a restaurant. Would have been good notice to put up saying its closed and has been all year apparently.
Great location to meet people between Sydney and Newcastle. Service was great and the lamb shoulder was excellent!! but what is it with the more you pay for food the less you get? Defeats the purpose of going out if you have to buy a pie on the way home. Half a star deducted. Surely veges are not expensive.
Decided to stop in for Lunch and it was well worth it. The staff were fantastic and matched by the excellent food. Views are second to none. Pricing was quite reasonable for what it was. The only complaint was that I had far too much for the main so I couldn't try the deserts. Will definitely be back again.
Morning iced coffee and toast sitting in the shade under the beautiful trees watching the morning life on the water, can't get better than that. Coffee was great, toast was better than expected and hey that's saying something when you just ask for toast and an iced coffee 100% will go there again …
We celebrated Fathers Day sitting under the pine tree. The Flathead and Chips and Calamari was delicious as usual...what special place for lunch. ..Will be back very soon.

A beautiful view overlooking the water. The food was lovely, clean, a big variety and the prices were reasonable. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I particularly recommend the slow cooked lamb shoulder which was absolutely fall of the bone delicious. A great place for that special meal.
Perfect coffee sipped in dappled sunshine overlooking the water and a harbour full of boats ... with sublime surprises from the chef like pork sausage rolls with the crispest pastry and covered in fennel seed delights or a perfectly seasoned full flavoured quiche straight from the oven.
Went for lunch. Waiter placed meals for next table at ours. Then realised his mistake and removed them. We waited over an hour for food to arrive. When it did one of our party's order was forgotten. Exorbitant prices for basic pub food. On the plus side the view is magnificent.
Great view. The fish and chips are a generous serve (I bought from the kiosk) so you could easily share the one order, which makes it a very reasonable price for decent fish and chips by the water.

The owner was rude as we walked down towards the restaurant to await our oyster tour!!!. Her greeting for us was "Are you lost" and pretty much said in order to use the bathroom we had to purchase something. Would never ever set foot down to that restaurant ever again.
A wonderful lunch was had here. The portions were above expectations and the quality was top shelf. For a quality experience and view it was value for money. The staff were happy and attentive. The coffee was rich and strong. Good wine selection at reasonable prices.
Great views and location. There's a takeaway service available in the mornings for coffee and breakfast most days. Fantastic coffee. If you're heading into Sydney from the north, take the time to pulling onto the Pacific Hwy. Worth the small detour & effort!!!!
Went here for Mothers Day , lovely location and restaurant, unfortunately the food was overpriced and quality of coffee was below par. Shame ,as they could offer better pricing and improve on coffee skills.

The setting is wonderful, just off the freeway but very peaceful overlooking the water. Menu, very good & dishes well presented. The wine list covers all tastes & is not overpriced. The staff is attentive & pleasant. All in all a lovely culinary experience!
Main meals are entree size, quality very poor, the entree was a master class into how to butcher a great piece of tuna. ‘Seafood tower’ what a laugh!! After 45 minutes and paying a small fortune we left and went to KFC as a local I am pretty disappointed.
We celebrated my husbands birthday here and had a wonderful experience. Great location, with lovely water views, try and get seated on the deck for the best experience. The waitstaff were so lovely, all the food we ordered was delicious, we will be back!
really great weekday lunch takeaway option - not much selection but all delicious and many beautiful places to sit and eat and watch the river. Service is great! I always go for the seafood chowder, yum.

Half a star for the food, one and a half for the view. The missing stars are for the overpriced menu and rude/ untrained/ inexperienced staff. We were met at reception by a female staff member with major attitude, which set the tone for the
Nice view, friendly staff. My Cape Grim Sirloin was cooked just the way I like it, medium rare. You'd be surprised how many cooks can't get it to medium rare. I prefer a more balanced tasting meal. Little bit of greens or anything would of
Take Away. Could be a gem on the river. Instead it's ok. Take away menu limited to fast food options and the coffee on this occasion tasted burnt. Wouldn't take much to turn this take away it a great place to stop .

I understand this place gets quite busy during the weekend but that's no reason for the staff to behave impatient or rude. My friend had a particular experience this weekend where the lady taking the coffee order was rather rude and would
We came here for a birthday celebration and absolutely loved it. Both the food and service were excellent. A bonus is the beautiful view across the Hawkesbury river. It's not an inexpensive place but I think it is well worth coming here.
Great for a quick or long pit stop. It's 5 minutes out of the way but well worth it. No lines and good quality food. Breakfast take away or dine in on the outdoor tables included bacon and egg rolls and ham and cheese croissants. Best
We had a great experience for a group of 10 people catering for a number a food allergies the food was first class matched by the exceptional service, the location is stunning with panoramic views of the river highly recommended
Great location right on the water, lots of convinient parking. Good size portions. Extremely over priced even for the location - $40 for fish and chips on a public holiday. Would give it 4 stars because of the value for
5 stars all around, scenery was beautiful, service was friendly and quick, seafood gumbo was delicious, as were the oysters Kilpatrick and fish and chips. Great place

Had a great experience there. They let us change tables because of the brisk breeze, made up a new table, no problem. The food was exquisite, worth the extra cost, and the view is lovely. We'll defo be going back …
Incredible fish and chips even better view over the estuary. Barely off the freeway too. Very impressed, it'll be my regular stop off now!

Great location with water views everywhere. Best oysters. 4 of us had faultless 3 course meals. Small menu selection but so good and specials were very special. Wait staff very attentive and helpful. Must revisit
$75 for something that would of cost $30 at local fish and chip takeaway place.. Paid for the view as you do though. Customer service was good

Great service. Very nice view. Good food. You probably do not need more than that. 1 star off probably because it's a little bit pricey, but it is worth to visit if you are near by!
The Estuary has been a place that I love to take friends for dinner or lunch, the food is amazing, serve and staff outstanding,, a place that you are always made to feel special.
We had a great lunch at the Estuary today. The staff are friendly and helpful, food was delicious - fish was particularly good and the duck confit pie. Highly recommend both!
The setting is beautiful, overlooking the river. Recommended to book on Sunday (if the restaurant is too busy you can sit outside with takeaway fish and chips)!
Beautiful location and food. Today I experienced one of the best steaks I've ever had! Truly amazing. The tuna entree and cheese platter were both great too.
Excellent service with good food and very friendly service. The Restaurant is incredibly well designed and has a view that is simply stunning.
