"This is a rather more intimate Exclusive books store, but for all that it's got a nice selection of books and gift-ware"
"After having supported this branch for the last few years, I was immensely disappointed in the customer care that I received this last week Friday"
"Stunning, stunning design! I just love this place"
"Not quite what it used to be i"
"Much like the usual ''grab a coffee and browse books'' scenario, the difference here is that, after being here a few times, I can say the coffee is really really good"
This is a rather more intimate Exclusive books store, but for all that it's got a nice selection of books and gift-ware. The Exclusive café has a wonderful selection of premium goodies to go with the artisan coffees (which are nice, but a tad sweet for my taste so I tend to stick to the espressos) ~ the light meals are good, quiches, salads etc. There is seating in the bookstore as well as tables along the mall aisles and of course wifi. You can hang around till 8pm so it's the ideal spot to while away time if you're going to the indie style movies down stairs. About 10 % more than the competition, but still reasonable for what you get.
After having supported this branch for the last few years, I was immensely disappointed in the customer care that I received this last week Friday. After having driven over an hour to collect the copy of the book that was being kept for my collection on 07/01/2022 as per telephonic arrangements, I was told that the book was no longer available and had been sold. I generally do not feel the need to write negative reviews, however, as this event seriously inconvenienced me, together with the nonchalant attitude of the staff that day in response to my dissatisfaction as a customer, I will be hesitant to visit this branch in the future
Stunning, stunning design! I just love this place. I really like that Exclusive books have made their own cafe and they have done it really well! My favourite is the typography above the busy baristas (who are very friendly). The coffee is good and comes from this oldschool massive industrial machine that looks like it was made in the 1950's. My only issue is they don't serve more food, they only have small things like cookies and muffins but I can understand that would require a kitchen.
Not quite what it used to be i.e a place to relax and page through a few books or magazines over a cup (or two) of coffee. This practice is no longer permitted. The bookshop is functional at best and really doesn't offer much of an advantage over alternatives like online shopping or even Kindle. If you like the feel of paper though and prefer to look through your purchase first, this is a fair option along with others like Estoril books.
Much like the usual ''grab a coffee and browse books'' scenario, the difference here is that, after being here a few times, I can say the coffee is really really good. If you are in the area and fancy yourself as a coffee aficionado, try the Flat white - Burundi Blend-Double shot and you certainly wont be dissapointed :) Great alterantive atmosphere and bonus feature is the stelar book store.
I have had multiple disappointing experiences at this branch. As a lover of books and what the EB brand aspires to, it is sad to see this branch constantly in a bit of a mess (empty boxes and abandoned book trolleys lying around). Customer service is also not great, as the shop assistants are not attentive or willing to assist. Hopefully these things can change.
Used to be my favourite bookshop but it's closed so early always. It's entirely pointless for working booklovers to even come here. All you'll see is closed doors. Hyde Park's Exclusives is a bit of a drive but their doors will certainly be open for me and other working booklovers. Their online times said they closed at 7pm but entirely misleading.
The recently revamped Exclusive now has a great new coffee shop with a very diverse range of books and magazines. However, the staff do require a bit more training. I was not offered a bag with my book, nor a 'thank you' after my purchase. These are small things, but they do add to the overall customer experience.
The staff there is very welcoming and they offer assistance to anyone and everyone. Their products are not just limited to books, there are products there you never knew you needed but you do need them. I suggest you visit the store for yourself and see what I'm talking about.
They have really diversified their manga and webcomic selections! From Webtoon, Seven Seas and Saterday AM publications available! A fun time to browse and make mental notes for future purchases. They even take orders for Lezhin (published & translated by Seven Seas) webtoons!
Great bookstore. They have recently moved to a new location within the mall. Great new store with a Vida Café in close proximity. Friendly staff who are knowledgeable about books and helped me choose some good presents for a family member.
Love this store. Its great that there is a cafe within the store but I do think it would be better if they had their old set up with seats all around the store. The seating arrangement at the cafe does get quiet full
Exclusive Books Rosebank gives new meaning to the phrase,"Go big and go home".Do they work from home??Bigger premises, shorter hours!!! When all the shops in the Rosebank Mall are open,Exclusive Books is closed!!
Spent more than one hour inside . Wide range of books on most subjects. Very good coffee bar with friendly, efficient service. But that's Exclusive Books. Very high standards. Bought Two books!
The new shop is very spacious. The coffee shop attendees are very friendly and engaging although they have banter and are sometimes quite loud, especially for a place for reading books.
In my opinion the best bookshop in the world. They have a huge variety of books, great coffee and great food. In addition the staff are friendly and knowledgable about the coffee
What an awesome vibe. The most genuine and friendly service from the barista. I ordered 8 cappuccinos and they were all amazing! What a legend! I will definitely be coming back.
A beautiful space with lots of interesting titles. A book launch was staged on this particular day where Mlamuli Mbambo birthed his child "Winning The Money Game" to the world.
Poor service. Your job doesn’t end 30 min before closing time. You certainly don’t wait hoping your customer will leave if they’re not attended to 30 min before your job ends.
Not bad. Like all branches decen range of books. I found them a bit pricey compared to online and other competitors esp School books. Staff are very friendly.
A big thank you to David and the staff at Exclusive Books as I left my cellphone on the counter and they found it and returned it to me. Much appreciated.
A book fix is welcome anywhere, but when it's so easy to get while doing your grocery shopping or catching a coffee break....what more could you ask for?
Please hire staff that are young and vibrant and know what they're doing. Preferably with far less attitude. I will never set foot in this branch again.
Great selection of books at affordable prices, staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection of fiction, YA, Non-fiction and self help books
The service I received was great. Thanks to Refiloe who assisted me from placing an order for my text book to the day of collection . BIG UP!
If you like reading, then it is thr place for you. NB! A little bit more eagerness to assist those that walk in can make more difference
Better, much better food available effort today - moved over here into your Exclusive Books, Rosebank Mall outlet, Seattle Coffee!
Love this book shop . So many choices and a nice restaurant which offers great coffee and bite to eat whilst shopping.
Boeke boeke boeke en koffie. Well done. Julle maak dit lekker om elke keer terug te kom en my spaargeld hier te mors.
Very disappointed with the coffee. Couldn't finish my cup of coffee. Very sloppy and run with no care by the staff.
Excellent selection of books, clean, modern store design. Great coffee service. Well worth going to Rosebank Mall.
Discovery system down since Thursday? 3 days of not being able to redeem Discovery voucher. Surely it cannot be.
Lovely cosy book store with a nice EB coffee shop and friendly staff along with a good children's section.
The staff are very friendly and handy. The environment is calm and has a cafeteria with various options
Not a great variety of slightly more obscure books. Also no deep catalogue of very popular writers.
Just like the other Exclusive Books, this store is awesome and has many many books on offer. …
The best place to buy magazines and books and drink a very good coffee and taste nice desserts
Cannot keep away. Latest publications, best authors, fantastic range to suit all tastes.
We enjoy visiting this exclusive books, it has a coffee shop and a lovely kids section
Be nice if they answered their telephone. Have been trying to reach them for 3 days.
A pleasure to shop there. Thanks for my birthday voucher. Greatly appreciated.
Great store. Good range of books covering a large range of topics and genres.
Great for it's coffee! And get some pan-African literature while your at it.
its my favorite exclusive books , the staff there are friendly and helpful.
Operating times have lessened and there’s no comfortable space to work
For your total relaxation and mind detox, this is the place to be.
Congratulations to a great school. Couldn't recommend it more !
My absolute favourite exclusive books store to visit. Must see
Variety of volumes, but no Zulu books except for a dictionary.
Great book selection. Not expensive and has a wide variety.
I love this place ❤ even though I spend way too much here!
A smaller exclusive books store but no less well stocked
This shop is very new to me And I like the book I bought
