My peeps! Just left Galaxy Theatre after having headed over there to use my birthday gift card to see Indiana Jones with my friend. We were unprepared for the anti-disabled, discriminatory reception concerning handicapped seating, which, if you're familiar with the Galaxy is but one short row. These days only four seats make up that row, and they aren't even designated as handicapped. The management expects handicapped folks to provide their own wheelchair to sit in when they're seeing a movie. When we arrived, the two seats in the middle of that row had been sold, and the other two seats, at either end of the row and on the other side of the empty spaces for wheelchairs were the only available seats. My friend tried to get the manager to let her sit in a chair next to one of the unsold seats, but he flatly refused. We probably won't be going back to the Galaxy in the future, so please don't get me any more Galaxy gift cards. I would never be treated like this at an Alamo.

Although you might feel like you're going to get robbed in the parking lot, the true robbery is rather peaceful as you look a panda-eyed teenager in the face with $30 exchanging hands. What did you win? Two small popcorns, a snack size m&m, and a apple juice. Yes...I know that's par the course at theatres these days but I mean at least make me feel special about it. The staff was really friendly and they even had Batman & Harley Quinn there for the Batman Lego show. That's how they landed the two stars you see above. The sound was decent but I felt like I was sitting in a nursing home or someone's grandmother's house it was so warm in there. I was literally spacing out my laughter so I didn't overheat. I mean at least pass out some church fans or have the $10 small popcorn fold in to some kind of relief. My daughter enjoyed it so that's all that really counts but I won't be back.

NOT A GREAT PLACE FOR KIDS. Terrible experience, took my son as a treat to watch a movie. Was asked to leave during an early afternoon showing because of a noise complaint. I got 6 tickets for my family but they want to accommodate the two who complained instead of the guy with the family who has been going here for almost 25 years. Manager extremely rude, was forced to pay for concessions even though we didn't get to eat most of it. Do yourself a favor and do not give these people your money. Go elsewhere. Terrible for the movie experience. And now an update .... The money they said was going to be returned... They stole it. So not only did we get kicked out but the refund they said I was going to get they kept. Help yourself by not going here.

Went to a movie here a couple weeks ago. They let people into the theater 25 minutes after the movie started and those people were incredibly rude, shining their flashlight looking for seats, talking and had the nerve to ask me if they missed anything. Many movie theaters WILL NOT let you enter after the movie starts. ALSO, the bathrooms here were absolutely disgusting. I walked into the women’s restroom and the first stall had urine all over, the second had wet toilet paper all over, the third had someone’s BM that they didn’t flush and the fourth had hair all on the seat. I walked straight out and waited to go to the bathroom until I was home. I will never return and never recommend this theater.

I’ve been going to Alamo all this time and didn’t even know there was a movie theater next to my house with the most comfortable seats ever. Came here for a 10:25pm—Orphan First Kill movie. The bathrooms, main hall, and movie theater were super clean. The reclining seats and tables were comfortable and it reclines all the way down unlike Alamo. At first it was a bit Hot but they do turn up the ac once the movie starts. Concession stand items are a bit expensive, $10 for popcorn. But overall I loved the experience and will come back again to try the DBOX chairs, might even ditch Alamo.

First time @ Galaxy Theaters. I had a great time with great company. Pricing seemed fair, the seats are among the most comfortable I've sat in (@ a theater). The seats actually recline to a nearly horizontal position. There is plenty of room as well. Snacks/popcorn/drinks are on par with other theaters. I was surprised however at how few people there were for mid day on a Saturday. I certain that there were less than 10 people in the theater my gf and I were in. This is a 5 star theater IMHumbleO! If you're looking for a great place to watch a movie this is your place!

First time at this theater. We went and saw Ready or Not. Kind of a humorous horror/thriller. Not bad, but not great. The theater though was awesome. The seats are the best I've been in. They envelope you and fully recline. The theater was clean, picture was clear and sound system was amazing. The lobby was clean, roomy and nice. As with all theaters the consession stand was over priced. The movie itself was a matinee but was still $10 a ticket. That seems a bit high. Over all this is a very nice movie theater that I can highly recommend.

Typically love this theatre - but the concession stand worker woman (short, with shorter hair, white, with glasses) was completely rude to my girlfriend because she needed help finding our tickets since fandango never emailed them to us. The minute my girlfriend said she couldn’t find her tickets, worker rolled her eyes obviously not trying to hide her annoyance and rudely went on to ask for purchase info in a sharp manner. Get some workers that actually care about customer service.

Have been coming to this theater for years. Its smaller than most theaters but closer to my home. Doesn't get packed as much either. Has been renovated couple months back and place looks great. Have a nice rewards program for free and also sell beer. They also play classic movies on Wednesday and Sundays. Always nice to watch a classic on the big screen. Serve alcohol as well at a much more decent price compared to bigger theatre's.

It was a nice experience. I enjoyed the movie experience. I feel the sound system should be improved. A little surprise moment I experienced was I didn't get any movie confirmation. (neither in email nor phone) After going to the theater they issued the ticket by confirming my identity. That was a little new for me. Washroom were neat and maintained properly. Food was nice, I liked the pizza as well as cheese nachos .

The reclining Theatre seats were comfy and the temperature inside nice & cool. There were more wannabe arcade toy vending machines in the wide open lobby area than I'd anticipated. I hadn't been in a while. I avoided advance purchase of tickets online in light of the service fee and that approach worked out fine for our late afternoon matinee. This theater is easy for me to reach and ample parking is available.

When you first walk into the movie theater its is cleaned which is a good sign. Was not a long wait time to purchase our tickets. They do allow student discounts and matinee prices. They have Red leather recliner seats with leather headrests to protect the seats. Inside the theater room was cleaned with no trash on the floor. Popcorn was really good not too much salt and icee was on point.

Wow! The new reclining assigned seats are amazing! Good beer selection too. Only reason for deducting a star is because the floor lights are so bright they washed out the lower screen corners which made it difficult to see details in low light movie scenes. Not sure if ever theater has been renovated like the one we had, but hopefully so. Do yourself a favor and get back to the movies!

Love love love Galaxy. The people working there are so nice and courteous. The place is always clean and cold (like the theatres should be IMO)! The chairs are comfortable and I love the snacks they offer. If you sign up for their rewards you get a free ticket on your birthday! There’s no theater like Galaxy. I would go here over Alamo or AMC any day. And do!

11.1.22 seats have been upgraded, comfort loungers. Still a great theater, visit it sometime. They have old 25 cents candy machine and prize machines. Few video game machines. Pretty good place. If you drink beer they have a nice selection of craft beers. They have different types of snacks. They have pretty good popcorn. But the seats need to be upgraded.

A "best kept secret" theater for Austin residents IMO. They have spacious, comfortable seating similar to their competition around town. If you want a change from the main stream theaters I would recommend this place. Their snacks do not fall short, and for wine and beer lovers, they got that as well ! Never disappoints when I go see any movie there.

Saw Uncharted here. No one was in the theater other than us two on a Wednesday night. Seats recline. They sell junk food if you want to pay. I don't think most people need to eat during movies though. We would be a healthier nation if they offered healthier options. I support your right to eat junk food though and not control your behavior ;)

Absolutely great theater that is clean and spacious! Seating is very comfortable and reclines well with plenty of space. I love that I don’t see the back of people’s heads or their chairs in front of me or that I won’t be distracted by the people watching behind me because there’s a wall behind each row. My go-to movie place!

I liked the big seats with the adjustable foot stools. The popcorn was tasty but the kernels were not fully popped so it was difficult to pick up...like tiny pieces. The pretzels were very huge --but tasty. The film had great sound and HD quality. The parking lot was a bit dark but safe enough I think. Staff was great.

Staff was very helpful with my order, large group in front of us..we placed our order for food....was told it be a while but the staff member she told us she could get it to us quicker. My son and I on our movie night we very pleased with all services at theater. A must!!!! Praise all Staff Members...especially Her!

I heard this theater upholds fire code safety practices and DOESN"T allow folding chairs in the theater as it would be a hazard. Great job management team. If your complaining about not buying your tickets in advance and then upset when you wanted a folding chair and didn't get your way ... that's ridiculous.

Galaxy Theatres is a great place to host Austin Film Festival films. They have many sizes of theatres, a great concession with friendly/ helpful staff, good parking, and a good lobby for festival stuff. The only downfall is the first theatre smelled and felt like an aquarium! I assume it is an ac problem.

Large confortable seats that are reclinable. Concessions seems expensive and staff is not efficient and not friendly. Long lines at concessions with usually only one cashier open while other workers are idle. Terrible if you are there just to buy a ticket. They could reopen the ticket booth.

Seating was so comfortable. With a push of a button you could control your seating position! A large buttered popcorn got you unlimited refills as well as a large drink! Volume was a little much, but when the movie started, it became unnoticeable. Nice clean and comfortable viewing!

Pretty good theater. I think their drinks are a little overpriced even for theater drinks. I took a star off because the lighted seat controls are a little bit distracting if no one is sitting on either side of you they seem too bright. Other than that it's a nice theater

Theatre is CLEAN, FRESH and cool climate! The manager Veronica is amazing, and her co-workers enjoy the atmosphere and the family oriented environment! They made my daughters special day amazing and we can’t wait to go back again! All of the staff were very well and nice.

Very dirty and outdated theatre. Not worth the $11 for a ticket when you have so many other nice options in town. Only came here for a big movie release. Won’t be back. Should have went to Alamo :( Picture is of the screen, audio is on but no visual... like okay??

Nice, clean theater. Really comfortable seats with leg rest and table / holders for drinks. Been a while since I have been to a movie theater. I was a little surprised how much the prices have risen. Still, great experience. Temperature and volume were good.

Just saw Nope last night. Been going to this theater a little while now and just want to point out the assistant manager/closing manager. Really hooked us up with the butter and was just super nice and cool. Made the experience from arrival really awesome.

I have been going to this place for years. The seats are wide and they recline!! That's super important to have in a theater. it makes me feel like i am at home! My daughters like it here too, and the staff is courteous and the prices are reasonable...

Live this place! Have been going for years and it has always felt like home. They’ve undergone quite a bit of renovations over the years and it’s definitely paid off! This place will always be my go to movie theater. And they have the D-box seats!

Wow! Love this place! Super comfortable seats that recline and have trays with cup holders. D-Box seating also. Good selection of beer and wine at the concession stand. My visually impaired friend was able to get descriptive service headphones.

The viewing experience was great, the draft beer is amazingly served and tastefull, the seats are comfortable in every aspect, the service is courteous and friendly, and for the overall price I couldn't ask for more. I'm definitely going back.

What a big upgrade. The seats are comfortable and get place to watch a movie. My only down fall was the popcorn. Wasn't the best I had but I give the taste of the popcorn a 2/5. Everything else was grat though including the staff. Great staff.

Their website needs to be updated and fix sme bugs. We tried getting good seats but the website said they were taken when we got there the movie had started and ended and the whole time no one arrived no one was even near around those seats.

It's a good neighborhood theater. They've revamped the seats and they're extra comfortable. Good showings of movies and they have special screenings of classic movies as well. Theater is clean. I tend to go on weekdays to avoid crowds.

What a blessing to still be here going to this same theater as a kid. This place so upscale now recliner seats and a full bar. Peaceful there too and the food is great. Can't wait to take the wife again dang some Alamo drafthouse.

This theatre was so nice! I just really wish it wasn’t one of the places that got a bad feeling for turning off the A/C on its clients for watching the movie that’s in controversy right now. I would have totally given y’all a 5⭐️

The popcorn was delicious, seats comfy, movie quality good. The only discomfort was the room temperature. My group agreed afterwards that it was too warm and stuffy in the theater. It felt good in the lobby and restroom.

Galaxy Theater is kind of a hidden gem. They have luxury seating and even have 4-D movies. Sayyy whaaa??? Yup! Lots of beer on tap and the popcorn is covered so you can shake as much salt on it as you want! …

Always good seats--no need for advance purchase. I don't know why no one comes here, because it's a great theater! And they serve beer. Great option to catch a quick flick when you don't want to deal with Alamo.

Went for the first time last night & enjoyed the theater a lot. Very comfortable chairs & the concessions menu offered good choices. Only thing I'd say is the popcorn is a tad too salty a bit oily for our taste.

The chairs were excellent. But the the theatre was a little warm. Went to go see Oppenheimer and I could feel the blast radius behind my back. Bathrooms also faced some fallout from the lack of maintenance.

Seats were great! Was able to find diet friendly beverages. They have cool kids for their popcorn so you can flavor some of it and leave some plain. Or so you can shake it up! Very clean. Hospitable staff.

Newly renovated, nice chairs, 3 stars only because my seat was full of trash when I arrived and the seat next to mine had rubbish from the previous screening, they can up their game in cleanliness

The most comfortable experience I have ever had watching a movie. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and helpful. When I visit Austin this is the place I will go to spend an enjoyable evening.

Trash can overflowing when I walked into the theater but the movie was awesome and the seats were comfortable. Obviously concessions were super over charged. Came with a full stomach.

It was empty when we went and was clean with comfy seats. However the bathroom was nasty and the ceiling had holes in it with green lights. It was like walking into a scary movie.

Comfiest movie theater seats out of all movie theaters in Austin. They keep the AC pretty cold, so I usually bring a blanket.
