I got lost in the morning while looking for a workshop so I needed to use my phone's GPS. I stopped here after lunch hoping for a few minutes to charge my phone. It wasn't busy at all and I intended to buy an ice cream afterwards. The guard shook his head at me and waved me away after I found an outlet. How is that helping young women who are trying to keep enough phone battery to be safe in this city? I went across the street to the portrait gallery and they were happy to let me rest and charge my phone a few minutes by one of the art exhibits. I'm glad I never need to stop by Gallery Place for anything.
Gallery Place has turned into a Gathering Place! People are everywhere. They are sitting on the sidewalk in chairs, crates, bikes, scooters, and wheelchairs. There are also young babies in strollers. There is plenty of smoking going on here. There is trash on the sidewalks and in the streets. Good luck trying to get into the Metro. There is normally police presence, they are out numbered if a fight or disturbance breaks out. Now I try to avoid this area, due to safety concerns. This is where the 80, P6, and the X2 Metro bus stops are.
This is about the Portrait Gallery next door to "Gallery Place" the mall - One of the lesser known museums, it is also one of the very best. The courtyard is tranquil. You can get a bite to eat, the gift shop is nice, and the water features are soothing. This museum has many nooks that are a surprise. Also, there are much more than just portraits here. Be pleasantly surprised by spending a few hours walking through here. But it is also possibly the best museum for a quick walk through... you can see a lot in 15 minutes here.
Regal Cinema is here, DC Chinatown. I love every place with a Regal Cinema. There is also a DISTRICT E, a Haggen Dazs Ice Cream Shop, an entry to Capitol Arena, and an interior entry to Clyde's of Gallery Place, American restaurant, having parking, then, outdoor for cobblestone plaza is Smoothie King, just across the street numerous eateries that just opened up. This all is in the same block as METRO GALLERY PLACE/CHINATOWN STATION, and a short walk from Martin Luther King, Jr. Public Library.
Such an amazing hang out spot if you're waiting for a specific event. The movie theater has very good seats that recline unlike old fashioned movie theater this one is pretty good with it's State-of-the-art Style. So many eateries around gallery place, Sometimes hard to pick which one you want to dine at but but eventually you will find the one that suits you best. If you're on a budget no problem because they have a McDonald's and chipotle.
My cosmetology school was located here so I know the area to well, I used to go on dates to the movies here all of the time but never visited the bowling alley. The restaurants have good quality food and are very upscale , the crowd casual popular and it's lit... One of my favorite places just to stand outside and crowd watch during events...
Go to cava !! That food place is a must. The food omg forget about Chipotle thats nothing compare to this eastern food restaura t and the service omg what a lovely people.. get the bowl and add on the veggies and the pita bread. The kids menu its good and big so worthy im coming back asap tomorrow. For more of this
Wow, talk about clean, safe, and family friendly atmosphere. Everything you can ask for is here and I recommend if your ever in Sliver springs, Maryland by all means visit Gallery place. Eat @ Potbelly shop at a lot of stores then hit the Regency theater they have 20 screens and as I said before very safe. ENJOY
So much to do around the area! My go to's are definitely the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Rocket Bar, Cyldes, Eat Brgz if you looking for phenomenal burgers, and lastly Regal Gallery Place. Plenty more things around and to discover but exceptional area to hang out with friends.
I really like Gallery Place. This area has nothing to do with China but it is a very great place to get food or be entertained. I really like the movies and restaurants. This is a great area to visit if you are from out of town or need a safe space go on a date or meet friends.
As a shopping center or restaurant hub, there are very few shops here anymore. If you're not here to go bowling, have a drink or watch a movie in the very well renovated Regal theater, I have no idea what you're doing here. But for those purposes I would give it 4 stars.
Gallery place is must to visit in DC . The neighborhood is iconic tons of restaurants coffee shops and a variety of stores. Home to Capital one arena. I recommend public transportation since parking is very difficult to find. Also a picture of Chinatown Arch is must .
I like gallery place because I'm a city guy and I love all that the city has to offer. I like all of the good and can tolerate some of the bad. I was surprised at how much open air drug use was going on and being tolerated. Cops were on every corner. Interesting.
✅ It's conveniently located in Penn Quarter and also in the F Street shopping district, the traditional downtown shopping and entertainment area. ✅ Indoor is spacious and refreshing, with a great design. ❎ It’s hard to find a parking spot on the street nearby.
Had a blast with my little big mini me @Gallery Place Regal Movies. This dude talks 90% of the movie, but it's always fun times with him; even though I am always saying, shhhhh........ only down fall is they nearly had any of the hot foods listed on the menu.
Gallery places is a metro stop for everything from the Capital One Arena that's known for Sports events, Concerts. Did I mention all kinds of restaurants from every walks of life all your favorite shops it's a city within the city... Enjoy and stay safe
I've been to this theater several times and I'm never disappointed. The theater is always clean and the customer service is always on point. Most of the latest movies are always playing here. You won't find a better theater in the area. I promise you.
A lot of the night life is closed down now due to the pandemic so with Bar Louis not withstanding the conditions Clyde's is the only thing left, meaning that there may be no room depending on what time you arrive. Clyde's staff is welcoming
Great scene of diversity. So much going on that you can't get bored. So many places to eat and shop. Very convenient to public transportation so on nice days you don't have to drive in the congested downtown DC traffic. I LOOOOVE my city. ❤
The Premier place for entertainment in DC. It’s always a treat to come down to Gallery Place and enjoy the metro side food entertainment and Arena stadium. The experience is truly unique with great lighting , Spectacular range of options
Absolutely busy. Lots of food choices to meet your pocket. Have your wits about you it's a mixed bag of characters. Take no one for granted. Ultimately, it's a fancy strip mall. There's a movie theater, a Thai place that isn't bad for a
Nice options. Tesla dealer nearby. 2 or 3 good Chinese restaurants. One sit-down Cuban restaurant may or may not be overpriced. Chinese Friendship archway sets the tone. And the Caps play at the arena. GP metro is sketchy, so stay alert.
If you are in a wheelchair or a power chair or Walker and is trying to exit the station to 7th Street good luck the station manager's there will not come to your rescue. Thank you young black man that helped me get out the gate after
Definitely one of the best places to park in the Chinatown area of DC. Part of it is the location and it is also a very large facility with good sized parking spots and working escalators and elevators. But what makes it especially
I use metra everyday to go to work. No problem except when sometimes on the greenbelt, it doesn't reach the final destination. But since some weeks z it reaches the final destination. I hope it will ever continue like that
The food is always good, and the customer service is top-tier whether you eat at a bar or a table. The menu has several options, seasonal items, and a daily happy hour. Greg is my favorite bartender. Go check him out.
Nice. Me and my lady friend enjoyed ourselves in the movie theater. Of course the seats there are comfortable because I tend to dose of whenever I go. I still get to see my do portion of whatever movie we go watch.
In DC in Chinatown area. Lovely area. I had not been to Chinatown in 12 years and was surprised by the change. The spot we went to was looking run down. We did enjoy a delicious meal at Briers.
Awesome sites! Really loved the Chinese writing next to English signs. Found a wonderful little restaurant with fast service and delicious food. I loved how close the metro station was.
Gallery Place is a location full of stores, shops and the sister city Arch of Chinatown with Beijing. Also, the Capital One arena is there where the Capitals, Mystics and Wizards play.
I go to the Regal theater because it's the only one or two within the DMV with the 4DX movie experience. I watch big block busters there & can't wait for Black Panther in 4DX & more.
Great place, me and the wife sneak off during the week, and its so peaceful. P.S. they will validate your parking if you ask, they won't tell you tho. Oh power reclining chairs too!
Atypical "mall" layout featuring typical mall stores and entertainment. Recommend not driving--parking on the street is limited and the garage is $27.
It was actually The Verizon Center.... Getting into it was bad! I cut my finger going into the Woman's bathroom stall....I have no idea on
I go down here to watch my kids at the kung fu school. It's a very nice, but urban environment. It's what you would expect for downtown DC.
What was once a vibrant and likely destination entertainment area is closing the last big venue, the Cinema. Clyde's is still open....
Cubano sandwich from Clyde's of Gallery Place. The sandwich was delicious and plied high with meat, the fries were hot and fresh.
Thought it was more of a mall and it's not. The regal Cinema is nice and the eSports arena is as well. Just not much else there.
It was an awesome experience. I visited the planet fitness the staff were friendly and inviting. The atmosphere was great!
Beautifull place in china square. You have a feeling like you are in China.A lot of things like bars and stores around.
This area had great happy hour specials and a really relaxed cool vibe to walk around for a little while and explore..
They have live music sometime which is great..but they also have people who are drunk sometimes which is not so great
The food was good and tasty. The egg rolls were especially delicious. Great service and the staff were courteous.
Definitely not the same as it use to be. 50/50 in atmosphere, I love the movies and the new renovations though.
Great place to enjoy downtown city life. Lots of fun places and lots of food. Weekends are always booming
Good gallery space that is inviting. Gift shop had limited selection that was overpriced in my opinion
Just saw Mission Impossible Dead Reciting Part 1 but the movie theater turned black during the movie.
It was okay plenty of food places to choose from the only problem is it was hard for parking
Closed on a busy Sunday. Walked over from the Smithsonian for a sign on the door.
Great atmosphere if you like being around people . Great place to people watch
Great museum. Nice courtyard to relax in. A great collection of American art.
Spectacular, Enjoyed my Mother Day There @ Clyeds, Very Nice Waiter.
I love this "hub" transfer point. You can get to all lines here
Convenient to attend the theater. Good restaurant options also.
Y'all know dam well Gallery Place don't look like that …
Went to Clydes downstairs and had a great experience.
Good place to grab a bite to eat before the game.
Could be better. There is no gallery here at all.
I see movies here all the time. …
Love the atmosphere and its setup.
It's Nice place.
