It is really a peaceful and extremely beautiful place. We went there for hiking/ bush walking. We walked along the middle harbour creek loop. It says its a grade 5 hiking track (5 hr and 45 mins/ 15.1 km circuit). We used printed map (thank god) because the tracks are unclear and they do not have proper signs. It is very easy to get lost for someone new since, the network coverage is bad in some areas. There are no water around so do not forget your bottle to stay hydrated. Furthermore, we only met very few people in the tracks. However, the view is amazing and neverending. It is very refreshing. P.S. there are some wet areas which does not get much sun. You may meet some suckers (leeches). Enjoy
We walked from Belrose/Frenches Forest to Roseville Bridge, some 14km along the upper reaches of Middle Harbour. The walking track is pretty rough in many places especially along the Governor Phillip track. It dips and rises over sandstone shelfs and boulders and is quite narrow. Scenery however is worth the walk with many native plants flowering during this Spring walk. A large Monitor Lizard was observed climbing a rock shelf as we walked along the waterside path. Plenty of views of the stream and waters of Middle Harbour.
Beautiful natural park to go hiking so much to see . Me and my wife did the Frenchs creek track which leaves from Wanniti Rd . This track starts on dead end street the track is a little ruff but has heaps of cascaded and mini waterfalls which the trail follows pretty much the entire way . This trail is quite steep and has pebble like rocks and can get slippery under feet so take care . The walk is well worth having a look with mini bamboo forests, little water holes, cascades and bird life .
With lockdown we've started walking the local trails and we've found a few in Garigal National Park that are great. The Cascades walk is one of the favourites although it is a more traveled trail so you'll run into a few people. If you're after a quiet nature walk without too many people around it might not be your thing but there are less busy trails to choose from in this beautiful park.
A very nice park with a lot of access points to lookouts, bike trails and hikes. There seems to be a lot of people on bikes here and with a lot of narrow hiking tracks it can be dangerous. Be aware of the bikes and they normally shout out on approach. Some tough and easy trails to do here. Amazing lookouts located in the park too. Some give you a view of the city. We will be back again.
Group of ladies travelling up to Riverside Train Station Brooklyn. Great trip n joining the Postman's boat cruise. Morning tea to start with thin Anzac biscuits then lunch of Ploughman's, fresh bun ,cheese, 2 meats n salad. 3 hrs of informative cruising. Standing outside the cabin was invigorating.
Amazing place if you like hiking and Bush walking! There is also a parking near the city view if you are coming with kids with an easy access! Plenty of space and fun if you love mountains biking ( you also have a map indicating different ways based on your level of experience )
The walking trails aren’t exactly “walking” trails, they’re somewhere in between a rough walking track and a mild hike. They’re quite rocky or patchy and there’s lots of wildlife such as venomous ants around. However the views and the flora are worth it!
Garigal National Park is a beautifully maintained area. I highly recommend some of the bushwalks as they are all reasonably easy to walk and there are many exits if you're ant to end the walk sooner.
Lovely bush track leading to Bantry Bay, totally unaware of the city beyond once descending down. Even saw a swamp wallaby feeding near the track and a young goanna sunning himself on a rock.
Garigal National Park is beautiful, it is scenic, has great look out points, has great views, amazing bike trails as well. I enjoyed visiting and hiking.

Easy hiking tracks next to the water: Lyrebird Track, Carroll Creek Track. Gorgeous surrounds. Old car rusted in the bush if you take the Casuarina Track.
Well worth a visit. It's not a well visited place and often looked by other trail walks like the Manly Dam but you get a great vista view of Bantry Bay.
The tracks are super nice! Challenging enough for a Sunday. Because of the rain the tracks were close to the water but that gave a fun dynamic to it.
Lovely loop walk! Bits of shade to help with the heat of the day, some rock clambering which added to the fun!
10/10 If you were looking for that quiet retreat on the secluded water front then look no further. It's here
The best place in all of Sydney to stay overnight on your boat. Also great for hiking from Seaforth Oval.
A beautiful national park in Sydney's north, with spectacular walks and amazing views.
