I had Gelber come and give me a bid to smooth the stucco on my house and do the exterior painting. We agreed verbally on a price, then he emailed me a bid considerably higher than the verbal quote. I wrote it off as a miscommunication as there was a bit of a language barrier and agreed to the higher price. We waited 2 months for the start date. On the start day, he wanted a deposit to start the job which I was fine with even though it was a higher amount than we agreed for a start deposit. He then asked me to split the deposit into multiple checks instead of one which I thought was odd. Next he asked me to write the check to him personally and not his business. As a General Contractor myself that plays by the books and does everything legally, I requested a W-9. Come to find out, he was not insured. When I asked for a W-9, him and his whole crew packed up and left. He blocked my number and quit responding. Even with all the red flags (no license, no insurance, wanting multiple checks, not willing to sign anything) I was still willing to work something out. I think there may be some illegal activities going on with this business. I would think twice before hiring.

Nothing good to say..... hired him to do a small job of painting some exterior simple block walls.... he dropped off a young man who spoke no English and who didn't know how to do a basic power wash (missed 60% of the wall, moved NO plants and use almost NO water). Gelbert showed up an hour later and said he was leaving another guy and they would do the job.... he would NOT be on the property or supervise. (wouldn't want to waste his time or be bothered with being there to do or supervise the job I was paying him for) So 2 "kids" who had no training/ knowledge / expertise, were going to paint my block wall with the dirt still on it, the plants in the way, and no supervision/ expertise. NO ...fired him, and sent him packing..... NO THANK YOU!

I had a roof leak that damaged my ceiling. Gelber's J Painting was very quick to respond and come provide a quote. They are a very good value with very fair pricing and excellent quality. They matched the texture and left the space very clean. I am very happy to provide a complete and confident recommendation of Gelber's J Painting and they will be my first call for future needs. I contacted Gelber's for a quote to fix some stucco issues on the outside of my house. The quote came in VERY reasonable. They showed up on time and quickly repaired some missing stucco and cracks. The builder never left any paint so they guys matched the color the best we could. They ran to the paint store for me and were back really quick. The project is complete and I will use Gelber's again on my next painting project!!

They performed stucco, hanging drywall, fixing drywall settling cracks on existing drywall, texturing drywall and they did such a great job that I had them paint my entire house.
