My grandfather bought a pre-paid funeral plan with Metropolitan Funerals back in the 1960s to protect his family financially in the event he passed away. It cost 500 AUS pounds, which was a lot of money back then. In 1999 he sadly passed away and Metropolitan Funerals refused to honour the pre-paid funeral agreement stating ‘that’s one of our older plans’. They gave us $100 off the total funeral cost and refused to cover the whole cost. Since writing this review and highlighting the situation with Metropolitan Funerals, they've made a genuine and concerted effort to contact me, understand and research what happened 20 years ago, contact the relevant Government Authorities that managed these funds to find some answers for our family. While a definitive reason for the 'fund issue' wasn't determined, the response from George Hartnett Metropolitan Funerals gave my family some closure and understanding how these funds were managed, and in some instances misappropriated in the past. I commend them on making an effort to understand and repair an issue from before their 'time', and to make things right again.

My Dad passed suddenly during the Covid 19 period. His funeral took a lot of thinking out of the Norm.. Sally our funeral director was so absolutely amazing. She went far and beyond to make everything possible. From dads “ He only paid 50 dollars into his funeral plan” to discounts, making this time affordable and as stress free as possible. The directors bought dad home for us so we could have a drive by funeral, for all his friend and family to drive by and stop to say goodbye preceding the formal funeral, the morning was amazing they cared so much and made it possible. Dad’ coffin was placed in the front yard in front of his beloved Holden. I cannot recommend Metropolitan Funerals highly enough I’ve used them previously for my 13 week old sons funeral and both my grandparents have used there services. They made my family feel like family. Thank you so so much.

My Uncle passed away recently and he had a wonderful funeral which was organised by Dennis Camenzuli. He organised everything to run seamlessly and I am extremely grateful that he was my Uncles Funeral Director. Everything went so smoothly and easily and Dennis helped and supported me, every single step of the way. Dennis was extremely professional, knowledgeable and knows how to relate to people at this sad and stressful time and helps them through it. He is very kind and considerate also. My sister Lisa and I would like to thank Metropolitan Funerals as was chosen by our Mum; whom had cleverly planned and prepaid her funeral. When the time came in March 2017, we called Metropolitan, Ann Gibbs was our director and all was taken care of. (Ann was amazing and truly took into consideration the personal circumstances of our family, as our Mum's husband had also recently passed away. Twelve years and all was taken care of. I recommend to all, that the Invocare Group (Metropolitan, Simplicity and White Lady Funerals) as all that we had to personally deal with was handled with so much compassion and consideration. Our family was so pleased that Eilish Mobbs was our Funeral Director. The Memorial Service for my mother was the most beautiful occasion, with every detail planned and executed with professional and compassionate care. Eilish was able to step us through the process and fulfill our mother's wishes with empathy and sensitivity and just the right touch of humour. Our funeral director was Dennis Camenzuli and he was absolutely delightful to deal with for both my Mum's and my Dad's celebrations of life (about 11 months apart). From the first interaction on the phone, to meeting in person, Dennis was easy to talk with and took great care to explain the whole process to me. He made sure that all the parts of the service were in place so that things ran smoothly on the day. Dennis was extremely respectful throughout the process, but also had a lovely sense of humour, which helped lighten the mood when necessary. Highly recommended!

I found that George Hartlett Metropolitan Funerals were extremely professional and supportive throughout the whole process. The staff are very caring and dedicated themselves to ensuring mum’s service ran smoothly.

In peak hour traffic this morning I drove through a plume of garden clippings blown onto Newnham road by GHMF's gardener. This was not only dangerous but left my car covered in dust.
