Planning funerals can be very stressful. I expect that a funeral chapel should be able to help families navigate this difficult time and to show compassion, integrity and professionalism. Not Glen Lawn…. We had a funeral arranged for my brother on a Sunday. Two flower arrangements were delivered to the funeral home on Saturday. The arrangements were not put out on Sunday because the staff forgot them. I understand mistakes happen, but it is how Glen Lawn handled this error that infuriated me. They did not advise me that flowers had been sent!!!! I was advised by the person that sent the flowers 4 days later!!! When I called Glen Lawn ( Ken) and asked why I was not told about this, he told me he had been too busy to call. Really?? If I had not been asked about the flowers by the sender, I may never have known. I’m assuming they thought that no one would find out? Appalling customer service. As a note to Glen Lawn staff, please do not respond to this, as is your custom when receiving complaints. You cannot ‘fix’ this, you had ample opportunity to do this and chose not to.

Went to the funeral home earlier this week to find the gravesite of a loved one who was buried there 12 years ago. From the first person I spoke to at reception to the second and third person who spoke to me I was treated with respect and quiet dignity. Nicolette was the person who I interacted with the most. She was charming and full of life. After talking to her about my needs she brought out the site map, marked the spot on it and gave it to me for future reference. She then personally drove me to the grave site in the golf cart (my first ride on one). She told me more about the history of the cemetery and pointed out various building and features. Found the gravesite where she showed me how the vase was in the base of the marker. This was something new to me and her thinking to share it was just another way for her to show me that she cares about those of us visiting the property. This business is great to deal with during a difficult period. They know what steps have to be taken and in what order to reduce stresses on the grieving family. Ken was great to deal with and was willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything flowed. Our Celebrant Glen was a true professional and everyone thought that he actually knew the deceased he was so detailed in his delivery. The business is located in a convenient location with a great common room. The catering staff were great and our food was from Ira's which is truly high end. Overall professional from start to finish. One small quibble was with the front office staff. The first point of contact. They have dealt with grieving families often but the people dealing with the front office might be doing so for the first time. Have some empathy for the situation, explain yourself fully and do not assume that the caller is as knowledgeable of progression of events and procedures as you.

My father passed away June 28th. I wanted to thank again all the help we've received from the caring staff at Glen Lawn. My parents pre-arranged their funerals last February. Shubert explained fully what was involved in doing this and was always available if we had any questions or concerns. As my father was ill I went with my mother to make pre-arrangements but my dad said he would like to meet Shubert. Shortly after my dad said he wanted to go see him so we went and Shubert was so very kind and respectful and my dad left feeling good how everything was arranged. One day when my mom and I went in Shubert was helping another family so Julia helped us. Julia was also so very kind and respectful towards us. She was there for my dad's service and made sure our wishes were met. She has continued to be available for any help we've needed. My family is very grateful that we went to Glen Lawn as all the people we have met there are so helpful and caring.

The staff were just amazing from Amanda funeral director, Cathy plot/niche,Scott funeral director. They know their stuff when it came to plan the funeral service for dad. Everything from the cemetery grounds, service and facility was amazing. The day of the viewing was perfect and well planned. The day of the funeral service was perfect as well from the service, plot/niche, lunch reception and the staff were just amazing. So many friends, family and loved ones were very impressed with the facility, grounds and service. And the weather was a perfect day. Thank you to all the staff at Glen lawn funeral home for making it a perfect day for dad’s celebration of life. I started to make my own plans at Glen lawn funeral home as well so I will be in the shepherds garden with my parents and grandparents.Because remember where we live now is just are temporary home. This will be are forever home after life.

We recently attended a service for a very dear friend. We cannot begin to say how this facility made a sad day as pleasant as possible. The building is beautiful, the staff incredible. Everyone was so professional and friendly. And we cannot begin to say thank you for helping the family put their husband, father, grandfather to rest. Your compassion was so welcome. In these crazy Covid times we are living I wondered how they would provide a luncheon…..exceptional! Prepackage plates with a very attractive presentation that not only looked good but was delicious. Thank you Glen Lawn Funeral Home for being there to care for the needs of our friend and his family. I sent a thank you after the funeral and was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from Scott thanking me for taking the time to send a note. Above and beyond public relations. Nicolette Warkentin at Glen Lawn Memorial took care of all our requirements and was by far the best person we have had the pleasure to work with. We had to make many funeral arrangements for past family and friends. Over the past 2 years we have had to put our parents to rest and recently also made plans for ourselves (for when the time comes). Nicolette was very professional and empathetic to our needs. She provided all the options without any pressure for any services we did not want. We had also requested rather unique plaque designs and Nicolette was able to provide exactly what we wanted. Our family was disappointed on a couple fronts. Pre and post communications response time with family needs improvement so as to manage expectations on both sides. We used florist recommended by Director and disappointed that flowers did not stay fresh for widow to enjoy. An email with photos of flowers was sent to Director and family has not received any acknowledgment. Hence back to 1st point made related to communications. Family requested a small technical fix to adjust tv screens however Director said only on site Technician could do fix. Unfortunately fix never occurred. Processional at the end of funeral was awkward and not smooth there seem to be confusion on how to proceed leaving. What was discussed day prior with Director did not occur.

While the day of service was handled with care and empathy, our family had two flower arrangements that were delivered to the funeral home on Saturday. How can you forgot to put out flowers that you have, on the day of a funeral, while they're at your facility? Flower arrangements are expensive and a thoughtful gesture from family that weren't able to be there that day. The fact that we weren't even notified of these until well after the funeral was very disappointing. It made a stressful time for our family that much more stressful...

My parents gave us children the gift of preplanning their funeral - when my father passed away it was very emotional but because they had preplanned many of the hard decisions where already made - Glen Lawn even gave us an information package with step by step instructions on who contact to close some of his gov't id's such as CPP, SIN, Health card things we would have never thought of. Scott and his staff were amazing! Then 3 years later my brother suddently passed & we instantly went to Glen Lawn for the arrangements, once again it felt like family were taking care of us. Thank you Scott & Glen Lawn for everything.

We had been thinking about pre-arranging our funeral for some time and finally decided to make an appointment. When we arrived, Nicolette introduced herself and after providing us with basic information, she took us for a tour on the grounds to show us our options. Long story short, we wound up choosing the opposite of what we thought we had wanted. Nicolette gave us all the time we needed and answered all of our questions. We are very satisfied with our choices and Glen Lawn in general. Although it is quite an investment, we feel we made decisions that are right for us with the help of Nicolette.

I met with Nicolette Warkentin to design a memorial plaque for my partner who passed away recently. Nicolette made the experience as painless as possible. She talked us through a pre-planning booklet for future needs; advised us on the information that my executor will need; advised my daughter about getting a will and designed a lovely memorial plaque. Nicolette was clear and informative. She was extremely thoughtful and patient and willingly spent as much time as we needed to design the appropriate memorial. I am so happy with the entire experience.

The Glen Lawn Funeral Home & Cemetery is lovely, caring organization that takes pride in their services. They are extreemly well organized and help you through the difficult process. My mother was buried there 20 years ago, and now we're going through the process again with my father and their quality or attention to detail is still as great as it was 20 years ago. All the staff there are wonderful, and Julia Hall was espically helpful as her years of experience really shines through, she is a consumate professional who goes the extra mile.

My family recently had a funeral service for my Nephew and the funeral director Jacqueline MacKay was fantastic! She was both extremely knowledgeable and extremely compassionate. Covered every detail. The facility is second to none. The reception staff were so polite and professional. We also met with the cemetery directory Julia and she not only showed us a couple of plots she was suggesting but took the time to explain her choices. She was very thoughtful. My Family was very pleased with the entire service.

My Family has unfortunately had 2 services at Glen Lawn Funeral Home in the past few years and I have to say the staff are the most professional, organized and caring people. Jacqueline MacKay in particular has been so kind and understanding of our families needs that I cannot express my gratitude enough. Recently went to the Winnipeg location, Lagimodiere Avenue, to discuss purchasing a Prepayment Plan. Met a wonderful person, Marian who explained everything I wished to know and was extremely helpful in guiding me through the entire process. I purchased my plan as I wished to have everything "set up" so not to have my sons left with having to figure everything out. I received my confirmation certificate today from the Insurance Company. Was looking to buy a headstone for a family member. Person who was 'helping' me was awful. Very pushy. Awful experience. Found out the sales man was lying about rates. Very slimey sales people. Beautiful area and great funeral service on a separate visit for a coworker. But definitely STAY AWAY from any sales staff.

Glen Lawn did a nice job for us except for posting the wrong obituary in the Winnipeg Free Press and having to send a re-print the following Saturday. It was pretty awful to share my father‘s legacy with the world with the wrong obituary which didn’t mention any of the families names..

Who though it would be a good idea to advertise a 2-for-1 special between a funeral home and the grave sites? The staff was nice enough, but a death in my family shouldn’t be used as an opportunity for you to get more business. Tactless.

This place is a scam. Just like every Funeral home. This is where we had my dad baried (his choice not mine) for a year after my dad passing this place wouldn't stop calling me about trying to get myself into there.

Nicolette helped walk us through the planning of our Funerals. She answered all of our questions and sent us pictures of the products we purchased. She was very knowledgable, patient and very pleasant to talk to.

Our grandmother's memorial service was held here for 2 evenings as per Filipino tradition. Such a welcoming and professional team that had made our grieving process much easier.
