Beautiful park. There are really amazing art installations. You aren't supposed to climb on them, but I constantly see bad parenting with parents on the phone and the kids climbing on everything. Because everyone wants photos, it's hard to find free time to take pics without other people in them. The park is nice and clean. It didn't seem to be overrun with homeless people, but it is overrun with stoners. That seems to be the thing to do, sit on the hill and smoke pot. Quite frankly, it's annoying. I want to enjoy the park without getting contact high.
Beautiful place to go for a walk and just enjoy a sunny day. This is located right next to the Guthrie theater and the Old Medal Flour Mill. During the summer this is a prime spot for viewing the 4th of July fireworks and also the aquatennial firework show later on in the month. If you do go to these fireworks shows make sure you bring a chair and get there at least an hour and a half early to get yourself a good spot. Also park on the street do not park in a parking garage or you are going to be stuck there for hours once it's over.
Great place! When we came here, they were having some kind of prom and we got to watch a very dramatic argument between a petulant teenage boy and his extremely irate mother. Bonus points, his date for prom was standing by awkwardly the entire time! I especially appreciated the giant red statue thing they had in the park, and more particularly how people had obviously vandalized a sign which presumably would have read "Do not climb!" Needless to say, people were totally climbing on it. 10 out of 10 would recommend this vibrant park.
A wonderful park in downtown Minneapolis. The views are just wonderful and the spiral path really provides a great opportunity for our kids to expend extra energy racing up along the path and then rolling down the hill. The sculptures are interesting focal points. On street parking can be a challenge but there are plenty of parking ramps in the area. There always seems to be a nice diversity of people here and the Guthrie is so accesible. Weekend farmers markets close by make it an even better visit.
Just an amazing place to chill hangout walk around look at things and relax great stop especially for me if I'm on a ride I'll pull off and just kind of chill out for a little bit get off the bike left engine cool down a little bit maybe and just look at the old ruins it's amazing and I'm glad they kept it the way it doesn't I'm glad they did what they did with it turned it into a park but I do miss the wooden bridge that was right in front of the ruins
Great iconic landmark right in the heart of the city. This is also a great display of how landscape architecture can influence the view of a place as well as how people view the surrounding places. It's a great place to walk through anytime of the year, but I highly recommend visiting the second and third weeks of October for fall colors, or late August to watch the Aquatennial firework show. Don't leave without walking to the top of the hill.
Very Good & Clean Park. We can see stone arch bridge view from here . It's having nice chairs to sit . Dogs can enjoy this park very nicely. I have done swing and hammock. One day, I made a picnic for myself . We can do a snow tube in winter if snow is more. It's very walkable to Guthrie Theater, Rivergate, Churchill apartments, and downtown Minneapolis as well. There are no public restrooms in this area.
This is our favorite park which is a block from our condo. It's so peaceful and always a vibrant amount of people jogging, walking their dogs or just hanging out in the park. It's nice too because they closed off one of the roads so less traffic runs through the neighborhood hood which gives you a sense of peace. It's a wonderful little nook in the city right next to Mills Creek Park and Stone Arch Bridge
Good one just right in the center of the skyscrapers .. nicely located with some wonderful sculptures. We love the sign of the park. Easy go to the top and you can have some awesome view. The us bank stadium is easily address from here. It's just beside the stone arch bridge. You can start yours hiking or walking and cross the bridge. wonderful location of the park.
Great walking paths circumnavigate this brilliant green space in downtown Minneapolis. If you're interested in exploring this great city then Gold Medal Park should be a stop. Plus it's right next to the most beautiful bridge in the world, the Stone Arch bridge. I suggest exploring in autumn because bald eagles are a common sight in this portion of the city. Enjoy!
We stopped here for the mound and were pleased to see some of the sculptures that we used to enjoy at the sculpture garden. The spiral mound leading to the top of the mound had the feel of processing to a sacred site, and the view from the top continued to support that feeling. We spent a bit of time, just sitting there, taking it in, and feeling present
Meticulously cared for. Large hill with a nice lookout at the top where there is shaded seating. Theres a beautiful historic pavillion/steel gazibo and a strange red steel statue. The kids had fun running on the grass and climbing trees. Its a small park with good shade and toilets. Just a nice breather in the middle of the city
One of my favorite sunset spots. Fun hill to walk up and a view of the Gold Medal Flour sign as well as the Stone Arch Bridge! Good hammock trees. Parking has never been a problem for me personally, but make sure you pay! I’ve gotten tickets here. 4 stars instead of 5 because like any park, sometimes people are weird.
Creative but functionally of an actual park is lacking... cool to look at but going down and up traffic is tight on some walk paths. The ambience is nice at night with the blue lights is pretty neat, but definitely a trendy place over functionality. All in all cool area to hang out.
A spiral park in downtown Minneapolis with close proximity to the art center, food and ice cream, Mill City, and Washington Ave. There are many events over the summer, from film screenings to bike rides. A nice little urban oasis to visit if you have some time to kill.
Went there with my girl last night on some e bikes we rented from in front of the Hilton. This park is absolutely gorgeous just after sunset. If you go up the spiral path to the top of the hill u get amazing views of downtown and the river. Amazing place!
Great view, close to downtown, bike trail leads there, unique park arrangement with a hill in the middle. Close to the Guthrie, cafes and bars nearby. Long benched for laying down on and reading a book or listening to music. Izzy's ice cream nearby.
I love this park. So green and clean! I recently attended an outdoor movie there - steps away from Izzy's Ice Cream too - lovely mix of community. I hear there is going to be a water balloon fight there this coming Sunday - that should be a blast.
Nice park with riverside walk and a lot of green, connected with mill ruins park and Guthrie theatre. It is relaxing to walk here, admire different sculptures and Minnesota river, just a minute from city center. Free wi-fi available in the park.
Nice little park with very cool lights when the sun goes down! Amazing view from on top of the hill and just a couple minutes away is a huge bridge where to find scooters and all kinds of people. Be careful for the sprinklers after 7pm lol
Very scenic, a hill with a nice view. Be careful if you go barefoot; a lot of dogs in the park. 99 out of 100 may responsible dog owners, but it's that hundredth, walking their dog at 3 am, that leaves you a smelly little surprise.
Love visiting this park, it is great for dog watching! Plenty of space to socially distance and enjoy some green space in the heart of the city. Excellent view of the city and stone arch. Plenty of places to eat right next door!
Wonderful open space park. Lots of Green lawn to lay in, but also trees for shelter. Cool pathway on a hill overlooking the Guthrie and views of the Mississippi area. Next to River Road trails and biking. Metered street parking.
Great views, cosy park, family friendly, and a beautiful design make this park a fun, family stop. Lots of trails nearby, along with close proximity to Izzy's Ice Cream, Stone Arch Bridge, the Guthrie, and the Mill City Museum.
Gold Medal Park is so beautiful, especially in the summer months when it's warm & the grass is green! It’s a great place to bring your dog, lay in a hammock, read a book, or just enjoy the views of Minneapolis & the river!
This is the best spot to for viewing the Target Fireworks (5th best fireworks show in the nation) that happens every summer. There are couple food trucks, events and lot of Street shopping during this time.
Beautiful vibrant park. Popular place for food trucks especially Misfit coffee in the morning. Spectacular views of northeast Minneapolis and the Stone Arch Bridge. Also features several large art pieces.
Nice park with a beautiful winding path mound. Not enough shade trees and strangely no Gold Medals. Just kidding. It's a great place to relax before going to the Guthrie. Road finally unblocked. …
A quiet, peaceful space to spend some much needed time surrounded by green while in the city of Minneapolis. Never super busy, the grounds are always well kept. A great spot to take a beat and relax.
Beautiful Park - lots of nice shade from hammockable trees, lush grass, as well as a large hill with view of mill district. Good for dogs, yoga, sunbathing and eating izzys salted caramel ice cream
Great city park next to the Guthrie Theater with large metal sculptures, dog walkers and great river views. Try a free Saturday outdoor yoga class before heading to the Mill City Farmers Market.
Come hang out at the top of the hill, and view the city, or take quick walk to Izzy Ice Cream for a good Ice Cream cone. Good people in this area, and a lot to see if you have never been there.
I was with three others and visited after going to the Farmers Market. We had coffee from Misfit Coffee and sat under the trees on the lawn. Lots of people walking by had dogs of all sizes.
Beautiful park to visit near the Mississippi river. Though small there are places for people to go for a walk in the evening. Easy for people to meet and hang around in the middle of city.
Such a wonderful place!! Love walking around because so many walk their pets here and dogs are so cute! (I don't have my dog since I'm on campus) Interesting sculptures around the place!
Love this park. Community workout group meets here Wednesday mornings at 6:27AM (November Project) and we have fun using the space in different ways. Great spot to wake up with the sun.
I don't know if it's just the location, or that the day was perfect, but Gold Medal Park is spectacular. I got delicious coffee from Misfit, had a lovely walk, and read in the sunshine.
I stumbled upon this park one day, very happy I came across it! This is a really neat little park. Has a great view on top of the hill, with lots of areas to lounge on the grass.
This is a great new amenity the in Minneapolis. Perfect meeting spot, neat art, close to the Guthrie Theatre, Open Book, Izzy's Ice Cream & the big Football pitch, USBank Stadium
Cute park with interesting outdoor sculptures, there is a good view of the river area from the top of the center mound. Also, it is connected to the Mill Run Park by walkways.
Beautiful Park in downtown. Loved the paved walkway and the climb to the top. Gives a pretty good view of other side of Mississippi. It’s a perfect photo stop in any season.
Beautiful green space in the city along the river! Made for a lovely picnic spot, well maintained, lots of space for distancing, there was even a food truck parked nearby.
Fabulous place to see the water and just chill! I even saw a few calls canoodling in the grass taking a nap! So relaxing! We we're taken there on a Urban adventure quest!
I just love this park to take my pup out for a walk at!!! I just love the layout and all the different art sculptures they have. Just a all around clean well kept park !
This is a cute park built by the Guthrie theater next door. Climb the winding sidewalk to the top of the hill for a great view of the Mississippi and surrounding areas.
Great for walking, photos, relaxing, pets - a fun, modern space in a historic neighborhood. Plus, some of the best ice cream you'll ever eat right across the street!
Clean park, lots of places to set up a hammock. Wouldnt recommend laying out a picnic blanket because the grass always seems to be damp. Dogs and children at play.
Great landmark for the area. Wonderful farmers market on Saturdays. Make sure to take the escalator up in the Guthrie to see the yellow room. Really nice view.
With all the snow we've had its a great place to go sledding. Then when your done you can go to one of the many restaurants to catch a bite to eat and warm up.
Excellent park within the city. The hill will make you work out even without knowing. Great view of river Mississippi. A perfect place for dates ❤️ …
Gold Medal Park is a beautiful spot to read a book or sit and enjoy the view of the city. Its conveniently located next to the Guthrie and Izzy's ice cream.
Great outdoor space! You can participate in different activities, do yoga, relax, read, run. Whatever you want. Nice neighborhood with modern apartments.
Awesome park downtown. Within walking distance of other things to check out like the stone arch bridge, Guthrie, and the stadium. Great place to hang!
It's a Green space...so there is that. Best spot to watch the bicentennial fireworks. I took this photo is from the top floor of the Eleven building.
Recently I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding in gold medal Park! Such a beautiful location with tons of photo opportunity highly recommend
Such a cool park and great photo ops. Too bad there’s all the road work. It took work to navigate around. I would go again regardless. Loved it
The park is intimate and also a fun, creative space providing a great atmosphere for any event, exercise, or hang out. Near the Stone Arch.
This is a really nice picturesque park for humans and dogs alike. Enjoyed having a nice picnic with my wife.
Picnic area
No grills
Good clean park, not crowded. An excellent lookout at the top of a small hill of the river smd St. Anthony Main. Paid parking all around.
Good public meeting location that is close to campus. Clean and somewhat spacious, with good access to downtown and campus via bike path.
I saw some nice plants for bees and butterflies. The new green space really makes downtown look amazing. Keep planting for pollinators!
A very nice park to walk around in with little paths and right next to the Guthrie. Also a nice place to sit down and enjoy lunch at.
The knoll has a great view of the river and is very peaceful. 2 nearby Nice Ride kiosks. Recycling receptacles would make it better.
Very pretty spot by the river. Family friendly area. Yoga classes in the summer months. Easy to access. Definitely worth visiting.
One of my favorite places in South minneapolis. I love when I can drive. It's beautiful in the summer fall and winter and spring.
It’s such a beautiful park! Downtown and right next to the river and the Guthrie. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy the city.
Beautiful park, great place for a walk! Sometimes live music, I've seen people hang out in their hammocks, great park overall!!
This park is a nice green space in downtown Minneapolis. However, it is not very large and there is not much to do there.
A great park next to the Guthrie and near the Stone Arch Bridge. Also a top choice for 4th of July fireworks viewing.
Few minutes from the nearby Courtyard. Beautiful trees, fresh air, and nice views of the city and Mississippi River.
Next to Guthrie theater, Mill City Museum on the water allows you to enjoy outdoors when visiting these Mpls icons.
Great landscaping and public sculptures along the waterfront. Quiet and a fun place to go for a quick canine walk.
Had a splendid picnic here!!! Ample metered street parking nearby, though the nearest restroom is in the Guthrie.
Was here on July 4th to watch fireworks display. Decent place to see fireworks unless you get behind the trees.
Nice open space just outside of the city, near the football stadium. No super exciting features that I noticed
There is a nice high spot in this park with a good view of the water and bridges, ect. Great place for a run.
Fantastic downtown park with elevated riverside views. Safe, clean, and overall great to spend an afternoon.
Very clean and perfect for a quick lunch stop. Very closed to Mill City Farmers Market on Saturday morning.
A little getaway to be able to think about everything and nothing at the same time. Stress out...!! …
Great downtown park with beautiful views. Very well maintained and easily accessible. Highly recommend
I love walking up the path to the little overlook of the river and the city! One of my favorite parks.
I love coming here to hang out and watch the dogs. Always friendly people and the grass is super soft
Well designed park with great views. I go here multiple times a year to view the seasons in the city.
Such a versatile park. I enjoy running up and over it on Wednesday mornings with November Project.
Beautiful park! Great photo ops. View of the arch Bridge. Not off leash, but very dog friendly!
Great park. My fiance and I walk there before or after my acupuncture appointments on Tuesdays.
Such a great vibe during the summer. Plenty of shade and all around a good place to hang out.
Pretty park, nice view, but light on activities (walk to the top of the hill and back down?).
A beautiful park, with plenty of walking trails. Amongst the city, so an amazing atmosphere.
Love the walk over the river...didnt get the tour thur the old mill but would be cool...
we were there for Stone Arch Festival and Car Show yesterday and Father's Day brunch
Great park. It's a really nice place to sit and enjoy some sun after a long day.
