You have lost a regular customer because of your rude and mean customer service. Despite of expensive grocery items at your store, I used to shop regularly because it’s convenient and close. Last year, during Covid, your prices were throwing out of the roof. I recently had a very sour experience. Recently, I bought 10kg whole wheat flour for around $19 and it had black bugs inside when I opened the bag after a week or so - well still within expiration date. I took it back to the store and the store guy allowed me to exchange it with another bag, any brand. I chose another brand this time which I recall was ~15. Well, I wanted few more items . So, I took everything to the TIL but the store guy said the bag I bought originally was only for 17 $. Original brand’s price was not listed in the store but same brand 5kg flour bag was for 15$. Can someone explain me this simple math?!? Moreover, when I tried to reason politely with the guy, he was very rude. He said that I shouldn’t be doing this. Like i was lying for 2$… really?!? Well, don’t worry, I am not going to step in your store ever. Because it’s the only Indian store in the area, doesn’t give you right to disrespect your customers. Anyways, I got my 19$ refund and I didn’t purchase the items i wanted to buy. I came home and ordered Indian grocery online and it was delivered to my door step next day. Easy, cheap and better quality. Radhe online deliver in this area daily and rates are much cheaper.
This place used to be my favourite store when they opened first. They used to maintain fresh vegetables and meats, groceries amazing. The quality has dropped significantly to worse. Prices too expensive. Vegetables always looks wilted. Never saw fresh veggies for along time. I bought goat meat twice in last couple of months and ended up throwing it in the bin as it is terrible quality and doesn't cook even after 10 whistles in the pressure cooker. I called them and complained but the guy just said sorry. I understand it can happen once but even after getting feedback serving the same quality is not acceptable.
Updated Review on 22nd Jan, 2023 The shop has drastically improved. The number of items, they way they are arranged, and the way onwer support you has gone to next level. Topped by free deliver of order is above $50 is a plus. -_------------------- Many items we have bought are expired or near to expiry. And this has happened thrice. Why the staff is not taking care of this, check the items before putting them on shelf. Though supporting local business is required at this tough times, but not at the cost of your health. To the owner: Pls improve this
This is that only place for the residents of artarmon, best closest Indian groceries are in Chatswood. That arrogance of the shop is evident in the staff attitude and the products kept here. Yoghurt is always bad, perhaps the expiry dates are changed, curry leavesv in small sachets Smell full of diesel. You need to be very careful at the cash counter, as they tend to overcharge you for the products. Snack items are Shelly at times and may have expired products repackaged. Vending machine tea here is the worst.
Trying to support my local small biz more than big supermarket chains. This one is a winner! Smaller range of fruits and veggies is expected given a much smaller biz but the quality of their produce is great! Also I love Indian food so great place to peruse if you’re into trying new ingredients for home cooked authentic ethnic cuisines. Thank you Moonlight!
This Nepalese and Indian grocery store is located just outside of Artarmon train station. Not a very huge store but lot of stuffs you will find here. Best part about this shop is the fresh samosa, kachories and vada pav which are available on selective days of week which make sure that you get fresh stuff. The samosa and kachories are very tasty.
Items are too much expensive like pickle is 6$ which should be 4$ Goat meat is 16$ which cost14$ Frozen fish is 9.**$ which cost 6.25$ Lime juice is 5$ I think they increased price as there are no nepali grocery store on north Why the items are this much difference in this store and other store?
This place is great! I love that every day that I walk past on my way to and from the railway station, they have something new and interesting and FRESH on display at the front of the store. The people are really lovely. The store is clean, tidy, and stocked with an enormous array of delicacies! Wonderful!!! …
Prices are a little more expensive compared to the western Sydney shops, but they have a good range, especially considering the location. I'm particularly grateful that they stock fresh goat/mutton on Tuesdays and Fridays, which is incredibly rare in North Sydney. The meat is very good quality.
Happy to know the store is under new management now. Earlier ones used to keep expired food items even after bringing it to their knowledge. Liked the way new owner asked about feedback on what additional items we would want them to stock. Wishing new owners all the best
I personally found this store as one of the best Indian stores in Sydney. Store is very pleasant and neatly organised. Very good customer service. Most of the items are cheaper than bigger stores like Udaya and the best one is the fresh veggies!!!!. Highly recommended.
Very Nice, Clean and tidy store in Artarmon with wide variety of products. Prices are down to the earth. Good costumer service. Love shopping here on weekends as they have fresh stock of all Nepalese and Indian veggies. Excellent parking at rear without any hassle.
I would have given 5 stars for service to new management, but they never answer the phone. Despite telling them they don’t answer. So if i want to check if something is in stock I have to drive there from North Sydney and hope I get it. Not acceptable.
Need to update the shop opening time. I was been waiting for more than 30mins but the shop was not opened yet, however the paper was on the door where it was written, “will be back in 15mins”. Waited more than 30mins. Waste of time.
Feels like I’ve travelled back in time to when I’d visit the grocery store back home in India. The owners are always willing to arrange and provide any item that we can’t find in the store. I love visiting the store!
The lady was very friendly and not really being a chef myself i needed some help in selecting the spices and pickles for my wife. and the lady was very friendly and helped me through without any hesitation .
Check out interactions is not so good .. poor customer service . Non veg item special mutton part is not fresh as compared with $$doller .. and TM member not available during browse into the store … thanks
I have been regular customer of this shop since i arrived here from Nepal. I could nearly found all my needs and i want to thank the team members for providing all the basic needy things here in artarmon.
Friendly owner .this shop has most of the indian - nepalese spices and foods that would not let you feel you are away from home . if you want to buy soft drinks , go to this place its relatively cheaper.
Good Store but worst in pricing. Almost all the shelf item is twice the price compared to other stores. I hope they update pricing list. Extremely disappointed The staff of good and friendly.
Convenient and local availability of Indian and Nepalese grocery. Not everything may be available but most frequently needed items may be there. No vegetables at this place.
Other all staffs are so good but this guy named sudir if this is a owner change your attitude towards the customer bro. Such a stupid guy. I like the place but not this guy
Love the way fresh veggies are priced and arranged in and outside the store. New owners have really spruced things up - love popping in to browse and top up the pantry !
Very nice local supermarket with good variety of Indian, Nepalese and local goods, including some selected vegetables; with nice and friendly staff. Highly recommended.
Very kind and helpful staff. I love their veggie's too so cheap and they open late too . I would always support them. Best local shop around lucky to have them.
