We've visited Gringos Cantina a few times since it is one of the only venues in the area which serves alcoholic beverages and is open until late. Unfortunately our experience has not always been that pleasant. The venue itself doesn't have the best lighting and ventilation and it's not always easy to reach the bar area, especially if patrons are seated at the bar. Though it is not necessarily the fault of the venue itself, we've witnessed a few altercations between patrons which makes for a bit of an uncomfortable visit. Staff have not always been friendly and accommodating. The food is average, though one cannot quite fault it since the venue does not claim to offer high-end dining, so this is quite reasonable and acceptable. Pricing is good for food and beverages.

Gringo's Cantina is a place where you an go after a long hard day at the office, and unwind. Meet your friends, have a few drinks, enjoy a good vibe and have some fun. Gringo's Cantina not only serves drinks, but has some great meals with a special here and there. Their prices on drinks are very affordable and that includes a few shooters. The entertainment, a jukebox, a live DJ every Friday night and on Saturdays, karaoke. I recommend Gringo's Cantina to anyone looking to have a memorable night.

10/10 probably one of the Best places to go. I love gringos it has a real pub feel to it. Smoking is allowed a d you can play pool and even slots . The prices of drinks are reasonable and there is one or two specials . The best thing about gringos is the Feel of being in a old school bar . The Gringos special is also very lekker , ribs, chips and chicken strips + 2 dubbel brandy and cokes for 105 rand ! Gringos is in Boston Bellville, near DF malan high school . All in all a great place

I have always loved the vibe in this "local". Unfortunately, as an ex-smoker, I am quite sensitive to the smell of smoke, and they just don't have the ability to succesfully separate the smoking and non-smoking areas... so when I get back home all my clothes have to go outside until the next washing day. And then a guy arrives with his border collie... very cute, until they starts playing "fetch" inside the pub... really? Don't think I'll be back soon.... unfortunately so

Nice place. Could do with a paint. People are friendly. Gambling area sucks. People sit all day cash out then play again. Very irritating. Once you cash out leave. Or wait again. Food is nice. Karaoke is a treat especially if Justin is there. Other DJs also great. So if you a Karaoke singer best place. Gambler terrible place. Until they have law and order there. Just my opinion. Terrible service. Been to Gringos multiple times and then been denied access by the manager, a lady with shoulder length dark hair stating that she has witnessed bad behaviour which is a complete lie. This woman has never been there while I have been. Shame on you, Gringos. I suggest that the owner employs people with proper management skills and etiquette

Even if you don't like afrikaans kareokee music. This place literally has the best pizza in the entire Northern Subhurbs hands down, well priced and down to earth vibe.

A real locals blue collar bar. Brandy specials and draft specials during happy hour. It has gambling and pool tables. Nice place to watch the rugby on the multiple screens and the big screen. They have karaoke midweek as well. Its not upmarket, and just a place to grsb a drink and maybe grab a burger, but more a locals pub, biker stylle bar.

I use to love this place,now the food is really gross and wine prices has increase similar to an actual proper place.If ever you want a burger rather go to Mcds or someplace established.If you want decent wine,rather stop at a bottle store or go without it.Super disappointed!!

Does not close at 2, bouncer asked us to finish up our pool game at quarter to 12 already. Ended up just leaving the game unfinished to leave.

The place is a dive, open brick and rustic and doesn't pretend to be anything special, but that is what gives it its charm. Drinks are cheap, the people are friendly and the vibe is good, not much more you can ask for. I recomend going on karaoke nights!

Average bar, nothing special. Pool tables and darts available in pub. Slots also available. Good food and wines. Good selection of alcohol at reasonable prices. Karaoke nights on certain nights. Ample street parking outside Gringos.

Open til nice and late. But owner is a bit paranoid and calls the cops on her own customers sometimes, you might get interogated in the bar by cops while drinking, so just be careful of the sceptical owner. But a few good times.

Had a great time here, a bit rough around the edges, but you will have a good time...people are nice, usual suspects, but good for a night out...that being said, dont go there if you cant handle smoking, my poor lungs...

Awesome venue. Everyone is super friendly. Prices really reasonable. And they have Lion beer. Unfortunately I did not have food. But I have it on good authority that they do delicious pizzas.

Gringo's has an amazing vibe and energy. It's been there since 1997 and it's still going strong. The specials are great and karaoke nights are awesome. You can play pool and darts there too.

Cheapest booze in all the land! Good atmosphere, well behaved crowd. Pool tables could use an update but it is what it is. A local pub with edible food that's fairly priced.

Gringos is a lovely place to chill with friends. Their ribs are delicious as well! The only issue is ventilation as you smell of smoke when you leave.

Good service and fair prices. But it's a little stuffy inside. Dark aswell, and foggy of all the smoke. Not very well ventilated.

I love a good old bar thats around the corner but there's nothing specifically bad about the place but also nothing really good.

Very nice pub with a good "feel". Safe parking as well. One of my favourite "stop for a quick beer" places. Highly recommended.
