"A nice little neighborhood market"
"Great deals! But don't expect to find everything you're looking for here"
"Located across from A"
"My local store"
"I found a good variety of whole & natural food products"
A nice little neighborhood market. The selection is always changing but they do carry staples at all times. They have organic and conventional groceries. Their produce selection is fresh. I haven't bought meat here other than some salumi and a package of the best bacon, ever. So I can't speak to that department. I do go for the cheese. They always have a good variety of cheese here. Fresh pasta, too, like ravioli and tortellini. I also appreciate the big selection of prepared, frozen stuff. They get some really interesting dishes here. Including Amy's organic, some good Indian dishes, etc. The ice cream can be hit or miss depending in your tastes. Their beauty section isn't bad. They have hippie shampoo and conditioner, body washes, face washes and lotions for cheap. Overall, I'm glad this store is here and hope they stick around. Prices are good and I like the surprise factor of what's on special each week.
Great deals! But don't expect to find everything you're looking for here. You'll probably be able to accomplish 90% of your shopping needs, but the other 10% you may need to make a trip to Safeway or another market. However, the tremendous saving benefits, overall cleanliness, and great customer service more than make up for that. We've been there at least half a dozen times since it has opened and we will probably make it a weekly stop to restock our fridge. Also, the store is at a convenient location on Silver and the parking lot usually has a few free spots.
Located across from A. Silvestri Co. of statuary and fountain fame on their old property, which explains the tastefully nude statuary on the perimeter wall, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is a treasure trove of food bargains the likes of which can only be bested by Foods Co on a good day. GOBM usually has what we need, although it can sometimes be hit or miss with some products. My advice: if you see something there you like at a great price and it isn't perishable, stock up! It might not be there next time.
My local store. Keep up the good work guys! Just getting better and better. I like you guys I'm glad you are here. One suggestion. Work on your cereal selection I mean you need to always carry corn flakes. I mean why do I need to go over to food Co when all I want is a box of cornflakes. Your selection is horrible by the way I mean we're talkin about over sugar overpriced just not good. Needs worked on. Otherwise your store does what you say it does. Usually surprises everytime I'm there. Thank you
I found a good variety of whole & natural food products. Their freezer section stocks some vegetarian & a bit of vegan foods. Their produce section is good sized. Where I found these store lacking was in organization in the aisles where cans, grains, packaged crackers, cookies are. Things were put on the shelves in a disorganized manner. For example cookies were placed next to pasta & crackers were found in 2 different shelves on opposite ends of a shelf.
No. No no no Noooooo! I'd been going here only because it's near home and ofcourse it's not expensive. You get what you pay for! The fruit... Blah! Veggies. Blah. 5 times my cheese was mildewed. I took it back and the manager act like she just ouldnt belive it! I could see I her eyes that she'd heard this fr another customer before. Then act like she had an attitude!. To bad I deleted the pick because I sure would have posted it.
Horrible cashier wreaks havoc on customers. My family used to love this location but we’ve stopped shopping there because of this employees inexcusable behavior. He is racist and verbally abusive to customers. He makes the check out experience unbearably stressful. This has been going on for months and we’ve previously contacted the store’s management and they are knowledgeable of the entire situation and continue to do nothing about it.
Besides stale goods security Racially profiled my son .and the they have checkers who are bi- polar who I constantly see arguing or stirring up trouble with customers I believe his name was Jonathan he was cursing at a Hispanic gentleman.and it's unclear why but I know that was not professional,it looks like the checker/ clerk was causing the confusion, none the less I won't be returning in the near future.somthing is off here
It's great to have a store in the neighborhood again! After Bell Market closed several years ago, this spot was vacant for a long time. Then Fresh & Easy moved in. They stayed for a few years, then they were gone, too. Thanks, Grocery Outlet, for moving in. I like to support neighborhood businesses. This place has just about everything we need. Thanks, too, for the new mural celebrating the history of the Portola District!
Grocery Outlet has been there for us through out the pandemic. In addition to their wide assortment of reasonably priced wine they have great produce with organic products, an assortment of meat and fish, as well as frozen good. the owner Ray is trying to cater to the tastes of the neighborhood and is open to suggestions. I included some photos of wine I've tried paired with food I bought there. Plenty of parking!
The following Grocery Outlet on Silver is a great store to show. The prices are on-time, the service is good the 44 Bus stops right in front. The sales on multiple choice items that don't have as some other markets do. But, the Quality of produce, meat's, pastry for I/me are on time. I am a Veterinarian of now 2 years, without paying the (highly) prices. Grocery Outlet is on time. Rastafari
The customer service is very poor service especially in the morning shift. They don’t help wrap stuff, don’t push your stuff to the end of side to let you pack by yourself. They are yelling to customers, bad mood bad attitude all the time. They don’t know how to run a good business which starts with smiling face and polite attitude. Too bad I won’t recommend this place to any one .
Fair prices, bargain deals. I love their huge selection of fresh eggs and milk. Lots of goodies hidden in the aisles that changes all the time. One note ... Always check expiration dates. They pass on the savings to you but sometimes they buy products in bulk that may be close to expiration. Otherwise, I go almost weekly and love the fast and clean shopping experience.
I love this store. I've become a Grocery Outlet addict. Every time I come here for 1 or 2 items, I come home with 5 to 6 bags of groceries. Always something new to try. Also, great luck with produce here at a super great price!! Way better than big name chain stores. I do most of my shopping at Grocery Outlet now and said goodbye to Safeway, Lucky, and Costco.
This branch has a small parking space and you may find it difficult to park your car in busy time. This store offers outdoor and indoor plants. Not many choices of plants compare to some other Grocery Outlet branches but i found this outlet offer better price and quality for indoor plants. I also found the mineral water here cheapest in town.
I live saving money!!! This store may not have everything but all groceries I have bought here have been good. It is cheaper than other grocery stores with more savings. Name brands for a lesser price. They have a nice selection for kitchen ware, candles, I love candles. This place is awesome and the cashier's are very polite and helpful.
Giving 5 star review to Jon. He is the most pleasant person working here. He has a great spirit and is always happy. He should be the manager, as he is kind to all customers. This makes me come back to this location. I hope higher up sees this review and realizes how lucky they are to have him here. Sincerely, " the kindergarten teacher"
Great little clean store. It's on the smaller side which us great because you're not dealing with a cattle call. This place has great prices, it's really hard to believe that several items are half if what you'll pay for somewhere else. It was my first time there, but will definitely be going there on a regular basis.
Great deals on a lot of stuff but I still need to hit another store for some items. Stock rotates so it's not always the same things on sale although there are other items that show up regularly. Hopefully they stick around longer than the other stores that have been in the same spot. The staff is friendly as well.
I'm grateful for the experience I had when I called Grocery Outlet to inquire about an item. "Kim" not only confirmed its availability but also set aside a few for me. She made my visit to GO that much better. In the midst of the challenges we face as a community and nation, I find solace in the little things.
Another great location for my favorite grocery store chain. The parking lot was surprisingly empty and the deals and staff inside were terrific. I will be coming here in the future searching for more bargains. You never know what these stores will have in stock next. Excellent deals.
Update: Got worse, employees are apathetic and rude, shelves even more disorganized. Best to go in with no expectations of finding what you are looking for to avoid disappointment. Most basics are there but they consistently don't stock their shelves which is very frustrating.
Staff is friendly, easy to navigate in-store, ample parking, and fairly wide selection, including a good amount of organic products. Low prices, cheapest organic dairy products around. The produce section is pretty weak though. Most of the fruits and veggies are low quality.
Unpleasant experience—felt unwelcome. Overheard security insinuating theft in Spanish with cashier, assuming I couldn't understand. Harassed in another store on Bayshore of the same chain. Trust is impacted; management, please address for a better shopping environment.
Stopped off to pick up some quick things some things were there somewhere out of stock so it's Hit or Miss at that Grocery Outlet if you're in the mission or down by San Bruno Avenue give it a try they may have what you want good wine selection though give it a shot
Reliable. Love the place. Always have a good vibe shopping there. Price are cheap or if not fair. Not many varieties but enough. There's one cashier guy who's super cool and always cheering shoppers up. Please, that guy definitely needs a raise.
The store isn't keeping their posted hours. There were 3 employees just standing around a register and talking while the automatic door was shut off at 8:58 PM (Open until 9 pm). I'll update this review after I hear back from customer service.
The staff here is always friendly and prompt, the prices are great and it is locally owned! Could not ask for more! It is super easy to pop in for something I've forgotten or picking up something that is new and I want to try out. Great store!
This place can get wild with shoplifters!! Every way you turn...its to the point where i while shopping here no longer feel safe ,weather at the ATM outside...or inside while shopping. I've asked the employees several times what happened to
the selection at this location is better than the location in the Sunset. I found lots of great deals and will make the extra trip across town to shop here. it's so much less expensive than Smart&Final in the same general neighborhood.
Has now become my number one favorite store to buy my groceries. I shop at the grocery outlet on silver avenue in the Portola. Only requesting that you drop the price on your diet cola and add more flavors of ice like orange or citrus
The workers are super friendly especially the surfer looking dude. He paid for my bags when I didn't have enough money. That was super nice. Long lines always during peak times but calm other than that. Love their plant selection.
The place hasn't really been the same since management changed a while back, but I'm still here about twice a week browsing through the new goods they have. I'm glad they have more laundry items to choose from too.
Doesn't always have exactly what I want, but does always have extremely good prices on what I really need. Condiments and some other items are hot and miss , but everything else is pretty good for the price
Great place to get your groceries. Its cheap and occasionally they bring great deals. Always something on deal. Less staff but this place is not crowded. There is parking in front of the store.
Deals deals deals... Find good deals is half the fun of shopping here as you don't always know what you maybe walking out with but wanted to try it! More blind successes than failures really.
It's a great place for grocery shopping. They carry the same items as Safeway and Lucky's. Items are fresh and so inexpensive. I bought a 8 lbs Turkey breast for under $12. Highly recommend.
Actually better than expected. Decent prices and many organic products. Friendly staff and overall you can find a bit of everything. I don't think there are better alternatives around here.
This place is absolutely amazing if you're low on funds in SF. Not a whole lot of variety of items to choose from, but good for the essentials. A great place for grandma and the kids.
Ok, let me start by saying that it was by far the best grocery outlet, in my opinion. The only downfall is their small parking lot, but other than that, their prices are pretty good!
Easy shopping! Never too crowded. They have different things every time I go back so there is always a variety to chose from. The staff are helpful and keep the store very clean.
Doesn't always have shopping carts available but they have the best selection out of any of the other grocery outlets in the area in my opinion. Best value grocery store in SF!
Good deals but they're letting their plants die and that's why they got three stars I don't like it I'm a plant lover not a tree hugger for the plant lover but I love Trees to
Great shopping experience.. Cashier was bubbly and friendly.. I'm from Fresno ca.. people are too somber and into themselves here..he made me feel at home...great prices too
Odd selection of groceries. I needed 2 gallons of skim milk and they only had half gallons, so I had to buy 4 half gallons. Only one brand of hummus, etc.
Chronically half-staffed, otherwise great. Better than the Bayshore location but not as extensive a selection as the one in the Mission on Van Ness.
Had a clerk who gave great service at the checkout. Another I asked a question he was too busy cleaning up a spill. Don't know if I want to go back
Poor quality merchandise. Bought a glass pitcher and it leaked from the spout so I exchanged it & the new one leaks from the same spot. I give up.
Good store easy in and out on freeway. Associates ask too many personal questions. Employees need training in how to be friendly not intrusive!
Great friendly staff store appearance looks very well organized and maintained I can't say anything bad about this place keep up the great work
I brought the Dreyers french vanilla ice cream. Price is good except when I went home and opened it. There is no seal, and ice cream is shrunk.
Can be a treasure trove if you like deals. Awesome vegan product selection. Would love to see more items in the produce department.
Large selection of grocery items and wares. Amazing prices, but check the pull dates on perishable items. Great values overall.
Great place to shop if you know your prices. Just got some Ghirardelli chocolate bars (3.5 oz) 2 for $1.99. What a great deal!
Clean, well organized. Good deals! Some organic and Earth friendly products. Need to check out the wine selection next...
They didn't have much to select from, but what I did find was reasonably affordable.. has parking n a nice staff..
I bought tempera shramp, have not had them yet but they look good enough. 4/5 stars, would walk there again
Super nice staff. Convenient, affordable prices and nice location. So happy we have it in our neighborhood!
It's smaller than most grocery outlets, cashiers are friendly, and you can save money on healthy options
Good solid Grocery Outlet. Parking lot is decent sized. On bus lines. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Always great deals, friendly, helpful staff. Edit 4/7/23:. Prices have gone WAY up …
They have reasonable prices for everything they sell in this store. Polite staff too
Art and Johhny O are the reason to shop here. Positive vibes, and love of life
conveniently located with plenty of parking. friendly staff and not too busy
Great store! The food has good quality and is not too expensive.
Staff we friendly and I was able to find what I needed.
One of the cleanest and organized stores I been.
This place has been here forever!
