The lovely ladies at this wonderful salon, have restored my faith in the goodness of people. Sam’s talent with color is impeccable. Just when I thought all was lost, after a local hair do disaster, where my request of warm and lighter tones of blonde, left me with one mass of brassy orange hair. I was informed anything such as foils to correct it would be an extra fee at my expense ,stating it was my fault my hair was orange and it’s what I picked(not), I already paid a lot for bad hair once! I own my own business so I know 1 bad review equates to 10 bad reviews. Word of mouth is a true reflection of the success of a business Hair by I came to my rescue. Not only were they happy to fit me in at short notice, they reassured me they would personally take it upon themselves to make sure I left there completely happy, letting me know if I needed any alterations I was welcome back to make any changes if required. They are extremely accommodating, and a perfect example of professionalism. From the moment you walk in the door of this luxurious salon, you are taken on a pamper experience that will leave you looking beautiful on the outside as well feeling special on the inside. On offer is a vast array of beverages with a lovely side a biscuits, even cocktails, and a complimentary neck, head and shoulder massage with your choice of fragrant oil. Nothing was too much trouble. I even left with a gorgeous complimentary generous beauty pack to take home to celebrate their birthday tomorrow. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending this fabulous business to anyone. To the staff it may be a job, but to the owner these lovely ladies are an asset worth their weigh in gold. They may be employed by their lovely owner Natalie but she has certainly taken such care and pride when selecting this genuine crew of caring individuals with an equal passion for their job and it certainly shows. They genuinely care about their clientele which is why I will continue to go there from now on. DON’T HESITATE TO BOOK. I would have to say that even though my stylist called in sick and my appointment got moved from 10:20-11:00am and was told that I had a different stylist doing my hair I was a little hesitant at 1st as I have gotten my hair done in the past by different salons and had a few concerns.. however in saying that this was my 1st time going here and I was already nervous as I didn’t have such a good experience with my last hairdresser.. when I sat down with Mia and explained to her what I wanted and showed her some photos of what I wanted and how I wanted it to be cut.. she actually listened and explained to me that what I wanted done will take a couple of sessions as my hair was very dark.. even though Mia has been doing hair for 3 years she is much better then a lot of other stylists and colourists who have been doing hair for 10+ even though I have a long way to go to achieve what I want she did such a good job on my hair and I couldn’t be happier the compliments I have gotten on my hair so far has been nothing but amazing.. I have booked in another appointment with Mia for Dec 20th I finally found a salon that i can trust and actually listens to their clients.. Mia thank you so much for making me feel comfortable yesterday and also for doing such an amazing job on my hair I can’t wait for to you transform my hair to where it needs to be.. Also I wanted to apologise for being on my phone the entire time I had to do things for my son who is in kindergarten and this was the only time I could do it I’m usually not on my phone so once again so sorry for being rude being on my phone.

I’m 63 years old and only just moved in to Doreen. I came into the salon for the first time explaining that I am new to the area and asking about if I could make an appointment for a haircut and new root colour as I am now looking for a new hairdresser closer to home. After they took my details in order to make an appointment, I asked if they have senior specials and how much it would cost. When I was told that they do not have seniors specials and the cost, I then told them not to go ahead with the appointment as it was too costly for me. As I was leaving, out loud I was told by the person who I was talking to, “good luck finding somewhere else cheaper” which I thought was unprofessional, embarrassing and disappointing. Yesterday I got a text reminder for my appointment which I didn’t make. Out of courtesy I called them to let them know that no appointment was made. I was told repeatedly that they will cancel the appointment FOR ME. It was a mistake on their part but they kept saying that they will cancel my appointment instead of saying we will fix it with an apology. I was really hoping this was going to be my new hairdresser salon. The salon really looked lovely, elegant and comfortable and so did the staff. The reviews are good which was the reason why I chose this salon. But I truely believe that the staff need more training in the way they speak to their customers and learn to listen to them, especially seniors which could make this salon the perfect place to pamper yourself at any age.

I recently moved to Doreen and its always nerve wrecking trying to find a new business for everything especially with my hair (with which I am super anxious and nervous about due to past bad experiences). I was booked in with Dee for a haircut/blow wave, color re-touch and a Kerastase hair treatment. Apart from some confusion on how to enter the place (there are two entries but one is not functional), my experience was sooo good! Dee was super professional and she knew exactly what I wanted. It's also rare I am super happy leaving a salon but this was one of those days and it made it even sweeter given it was my birthday :D I even got a surprise discount for having done a Kerastase treatment and the lady who took my payment gave me some amazing samples to try which was super generous of her. My only gripe would be the extra credit card surcharge that you would need to pay twice (once to book and then after your service)...I wish they were just a pending transaction instead of an actual charge so that you can have the option to pay cash when you come in.

My hairdresser is on maternity leave so I was desperate to find a new one. I chose The principle colourist because she has great reviews and her worked looked well blended. First time she coloured my hair was ok, I wasn’t amazed but content. Second time It went wrong. I wanted my regrowth/ blonde brought up higher to the roots with baby lights though I’m left with burnt, broken hair. She bleached over my ends on-top of already bleached hair without me realising or wanting. My fringe is completely snapped off. I’ve been blonde / balayage for 7 years and never have I ever had this kind of damage. Principle colourist should know better and not to bleach over already bleached hair. Toner was wrong, and my root smudge wasn’t seamless, looks incredibly patchy. My hair was healthy, shiny and smooth. It is now brittle, snapped & dry. I’ve spent so much on treatments and kerastase shampoo and conditioner. Might I add this salon increases their prices when they feel like. 3 months apart from Visits and boom increase with no notification.

This salon destroyed my hair. I have had to have my hair corrected 3 times and it’s still not right. I had to request a refund which the owner was rude about saying it’s unfair because I was given olaplex I didn’t ask for. What’s unfair is having your hair destroyed and being expected to pay for the privilege. She even tried to say my hair was already damaged because I told her I’d had to stop scalp bleaching it. Which was true, 7 years ago, when I then grew it out to my natural colour before starting foils. I had blonde hair in good condition that I looked after, treating with olaplex weekly, using olaplex shampoo and conditioner. I now have hair that is so damaged the wella technician said I would need to treat it every two days and it’s so fragile it won’t hold colour. According to the owner of you state the facts, that this is a result of incompetence you are demeaning. It has been a nightmare since I stepped foot in this salon. My hair will take months and months to recover and cost a fortune.

First time at the salon. Was impressed by booking system and splurged on a Style Director - After explaining that I suffer from alopecia, I was given the run down about the products to purchase. Ok... let's leave it until after the cut. Too soon for the merch talk. After deciding that bangs and a short cut was what I was after, a Style Director wouldn't have agreed. The fringe was thin and rounded into a curl that hit my eyelids all the way home. The young lass beside me looked horrified. The bob was long at the front and short at the back. Not a style that I can sport with the shape of my face. Anyone that has to use a GHD at the end and doesn't put any extra product to tame fly-aways, doesn't get me coming back. I bought the products, and the only appreciative comment is to the lovely receptionist at the front kindly throwing in a free-bee product.

Please beware of this salon. I made contact to advise l was unwell and wanted to cancel my appointment for tomorrow. They then charged me $68 via the use of my visa card without my consent, (reporting to bank and consumer affairs) for not being able to attend my appointment due to illness. They tried to say my appointment was for today but l had their business card which a staff member from the salon had written a Saturday appointment not a Friday appointment. I would not make a Friday appointment as this is a normal work day. Who would have thought a hair salon would charge you for being sick. Don't use this salon they store you credit card details without permission and then use it without permission. fraudulent behaviour. Update 6-12-22- bank has refunded money taken from my account by Hair by I and fraudulent case was proven.

I had one amazing experience and two not so professional experiences. I don't plan on going back simply because I still feel really humiliated by the last one. I don't feel like going into specifics either but I did end up going elsewhere to get my hair fixed and am much happier with it now. Cannot recommend getting a colour here but I got an absolutely wonderful pixie cut here that I'm still getting compliments for a week and a half later and the products I bought to take care of it are top notch. I'm really grateful for the cut itself. Thank you for saving my hair from iso Edit: removed a star for that unsympathetic response. It is how you do business though and you have other like minded reviews to prove it

My hairstylist is amazing and so professional. Everything she does I love, she gets my stars... However the prices have just got to high and am not sure I can afford to continue going to this salon. $112 for a hair cut is just extremely high when I used to pay around $45 at the same salon only 5 years ago, and a green fee?? Why am I being charged a green fee? And now a 1.4% electronic payment fee?? Im scared to accept the offer of a coffee that its going to be an extra charge too! I know things have been tough but when the salon can afford renovations and expansions they can't really claim they have done it tough and raise prices so high can they?? ‍♀️ I'm sorry guys but it's just too much.

I booked an appointment for permanent hair straightening over the phone they booked me and asked for $50 deposit which I did and I payed rest $200 in Salon and they cheated me by doing keratine treatment and when I found and informed them, they said they do not do permanent or chemical straightening in their Salon and in return just blamed me for mis communication and never admitted that their hair dresser Kiara cheated me. When asked for refund they just said NO, such is their customer service. Its so hard for some people to admit their mistake. Please be careful of these traps. Very dishonest in their pricing! I booked for three quarter foils, trim and dry off. I was charged $399! I was not quoted this amount before the service! I was told the tonner was and extra $89 yet was only informed after the service. I was also charged for extra long hair (foils) even though my hair is not extra long and the majority of the foils were just regrowth! Absolutely disgusting! Will obviously never be returning. I have tried speaking to your reception directly and was told nothing can be done. In this case, the pricing was certainly not transparent and very different to what you show on your website.

Loved my visit to this salon, the staff and overall salon are so welcoming and lovely my first time coming here my colour was atrocious, after our first attempt at getting the result I wanted the colour my hair didn’t absorb the colour enough but after my stylists dedication she persevered until we managed to get my desired hair colour now my hair looks and feels absolutely amazing. I am so grateful for the wonderful service I had and there dedication to making the client look and feel as good as there hair I wouldn’t go any where else they are magnificent. Definitely recommend

Love my 6 weekly visits to HairByI. Been visiting this amazing salon for 7 years now and absolutely highly recommend them. Staff are all professionally trained regularly and this shows as my colour is always spot on. Product knowledge is second to none and availability of products is easy and convenient at each visit. I often get compliments on my blonde, these gals are blonde experts! Also love the appointment reminders which help with my busy schedule! Place was really well set up and clean, taking social distancing requirements and cleanliness seriously. Did exactly what I asked for and didn't change anything because they thought it would be nicer (had a lot of bad experiences at other places). Were really informative about upkeep of hair and were upfront about the price so no surprise at the end. I'm a pretty shy person and I'm not super keen on chatting and they didn't try to force conversation and were really polite. If you've had bad experiences elsewhere, would recommend giving them a try.

I booked my first appointment at Hair By I salon with Brittney about a month ago. She was so lovely, full of knowledge and very professional. The salon have amazing products like Goldwell and Kerastase just to name a few. The staff have expert product knowledge. I booked myself in for an initial consultation, wash, trim and dry. Im now a regular customer that comes in 6-8 weeks. This half had balayage with copper is from my latest appointment. My hair look and feels absolutely amazing. Decided last night to find a hairdressers for a cut and maybe a colour when there was availability. Found Hair by I and I couldn’t have been happier with my results. The staff were super friendly and welcoming at the very beginning, and they worked with me to get what I wanted. I felt like they were giving expert advice and trusted them. They even managed to fit me in for the colour later in the day. Couldn’t be happier with the outcome, would recommend Hair by I to any of my friends or family. And definitely returning.

I am so chuffed with how Nikki did my hair! It had been a while since I’d last had my hair done because of lockdown and Nikki did such a great job of refreshing my blonde and making me feel so light and bright again! I also spontaneously wanted to try some light pink in the ends of my hair but was a bit hesitant. Nikki talked me through the process and the colours and went really light with the pink for my first time. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be booking in with Nikki again! :)

My first visit to Hair by I. It was a truly lovely experience. All the staff friendly and attentive from the minute I walked in to the moment I left (which was after knock off time).and I felt like I was important not just another head of hair. The welcome ritual was like nothing I have been offered before and I loved it! The space is beautiful and constantly being cleaned. Would I go back? Meg was meticulous with my kerasilk keratin treatment. She discussed in depth with me which treatment I wanted and what the steps would be. She then very thoroughly did every step of the process and the results reflect that. My hair is shiny and blow dried to straight within minutes. It looked like hard work from her end but will certainly be easier for me in the coming months. I can tell already. Thanks again Meg!! <3

After 10 years of dying my hair jet black, it was time for a change. I wanted to freshen up my hair by adding a few caramel highlights for dimension and over time gradually adding more to soften and lighten my features. My first appointment was a huge success, not only did Maree exceed my expectations, she talked me through the entire process and made me feel so welcomed and relaxed. Truly blown away by the results.

I have massive anxiety when it comes to going to salons and Sam was simply amazing. I spent most the time with my eyes closed and she just done her job and didn’t force me to communicate and by the end I was feeling great and can’t wait to go back. Amazing salon. wonderful team members that work there. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The only suggestion I would have, is that if you have a client there for 3.5 hours, please offer them a water, I didn't want to be late to my appointment and forgot to take my water bottle in with me, a drink would have been really great! Otherwise, the work is superb and the knowledge is also fantastic!

Best salon in the northern suburbs! I had my great lengths extensions put in here a few months ago and they still look absolutely amazing! I was so happy with the quality of them. The staff are also absolutely amazing here and so friendly. Every time I’ve left the salon, my hair has looked amazing and made me feel stunning. I would never go anywhere else.

I was really impressed with the job done on my hair, it looks amazing! I was quite disappointed at the final bill, given I had booked online and paid what I was told was a 50% deposit only to then pay almost double that as the balance. Clients should be made aware beforehand if the cost is going to be so different to what is quoted.
