I used the online booking tool to book an appointment, for my 15 year old daughter, with Jen. I selected Wash, Cut & Style for Long Hair. Jen didn't wash or style my daughters hair. Instead she spent all of 10 minutes to brush it and cut it dry! When I asked her why she didn't wash or style it....let alone do a proper cut...she told me this is what they do for a kids cut. First of all, I didn't book a kids cut and second of all, my daughter has had her hair cut on 3 different occasions with another stylist at this salon and this was not the service received. Jen had another customer who was having colour done so I suspect she was in a rush to get my daughter out of the chair. All she did was brush it and lop off the ends...no long layers, no face framing curtain bangs nothing like the picture provided. I'm furious! Never again will either my daughter or I get our hair cut at this salon.

I had an on-location appointment the day of my wedding with their stylist Vange. She was super friendly, efficient, did a great job with my hair and makeup and I definitely would recommend her services. But I rated 4/5 stars because there was an extra $150 reservation fee that was initially called a "deposit." Because it was called a deposit, I thought it would come out of my total service cost, but nope, it was an additional fee. I only found out after full payment that actually, it was purely to reserve the appointment. I think the on-site service was very fair otherwise (especially their $60 travel fee!), but for those trying to be budget conscious (those wedding costs rack up fast man) I felt this information was important to share. $150 is quite steep for a surprise extra cost. Hope any future clients can avoid this confusion!

As a client of Hair Expectations (every three weeks) for many years now. I'm more than thrilled with all the services I received. A gigantic shout out to both Emily and Vange. They are incredible to work with for all my hair and aesthetics. Their attention to detail, expertise, humour and professionalism is very much appreciated. And several other hair stylists (Kayleigh) have been available when Vange is on well deserved holidays so all my services are uninterrupted. Emily takes the time to ensure the appointments are booked with multiple services and I value the reminder calls. As a busy professional I've used their hair and make up services for professional photography head shots and they are amazingly creative for colour and more!

I called 1-2 times weekly and emailed several times over the course of 3 months to try and book for my wedding next year. I spoke to several different staff who told me that they left notes for the coordinator but never received a call back. While I understand that wedding season is very busy, I found it excessive that I had to phone to follow up on if they would book my wedding or not. I still haven't heard back and we are now on month 4. I have made other arrangements for hair and makeup with equally busy salons who were able to take the time to respond to me. Save your time and stress and book elsewhere for an important event such as your wedding. Disappointed.

I went in to get highlights and a cut. I asked for 3 color highlights that were dramatic and on the thicker side. I wanted a dark low-light and a blond highlight. The colourist said she understood what I wanted. She did the color and as soon as I saw it I was not happy. She did the cut which was fine as it was just a trim. I did pay for the color and left a tip as she was very nice. I have called to complain and asked for a call back. Hopefully, they try to make this right or I’ll be putting in another review. I only want this fixed as I will never go back to this place as it is clear the stylists are well below average.

I had hair expectations come to my house the day of my wedding to do hair for 9 people (my 6 bridesmaids, myself, my mom, and my grandma). We were lucky enough to have Vange and Rachel join us for our morning. And they were so great! They were able to accommodate us all and were able to provide a wide range of different styles which were requested by my bridesmaids with plenty of time to spare. They were able to provide different payment methods too (visa, m/c or cash)which was a lot more convenient than the usual cash method of payment! Thank you both so much for making my morning as stress-free and relaxed as possible.

I have left two voicemails and sent an email and no response whatsoever. Every time I call there I get their voicemail. Very poor customer service. Thanks for nothing. So you obviously just got my email and my voicemail and decided to reply now? All of my correspondence to you was over a month ago! How convenient when you decided not to respond before. I was also contacting you for other services. Your website didn't display some info until today. Again poor customer service. I myself have worked in customer service for over 15 years and know good customer service when I see it. Thanks for attempting to assist me.

Did not get the service that I asked for nor the person. I knew right when I called to be let in that something didn't sound right and then when the stylist suggested a wash before the cut that something was up. The stylist was very kind and seemed understanding, but the person who took my appointment knew who had serviced me last time (and that I wanted that person and that service) and gave someone with little to no understanding of what I was looking for. I'll go back again bc I now know who did my first cut there, but it's a sad day when my hair looks worse coming out of a salon than going in.

I have been going to hair Expectations for almost 10 years and have never been disappointed. The ladies working here hustle like no other salon I've seen. Vange, Tania, Kayleigh, and all the other wonderful girls go above and beyond every time, despite how absolutely slammed they have been this season with all the covid weddings having had been pushed, as well as this year's weddings, and their normal salon work. You may have to book ahead of time but it is SO WORTH IT. These ladies are beyond talented and welcoming. Highly, highly suggest booking in here!!

I showed her a picture of what I wanted for my wedding (10 days from now) and she did exactly what I wanted yet somehow better? I am so happy with how my hair looks. I think this is the best color my hair has ever been. I will be telling everyone I know to get their hair done by Kayleigh. High quality job without the city prices.

made an appointment here with the owner...I scheduled it a couple of weeks out as I had to move things around with work in order to be able to make the appointment only to have the stylist call and cancel a couple of days out. Stylist was not ill, just had "things to do" that day... what? Seriously???! I had changed my work schedule to accommodate this appointment so needless to say that was my first and last impression as I won't be attempting to make another appointment here

We booked an appointment for our son to get his hair cut. When we arrived no one greeted us at the door for over 10 minutes. When some did come by to take payment from other client, the first thing they ask me is "what is the first name of the appointment?" No hello or welcome, not to mention a waiting customer went into the salon to let the staff know some one is there. This is very unprofessional and we won't be going back to a place who does not even greet thier customers!

Been to the same stylist for 30 years and it was suggested to go to Hair Expectations and see Vange for a "change". (She came highly recommended by a girlfriend) Booked a haircut and was very happy with the results. We talked about what we could do with my hair colour and booked another appt. the following week. Vange did what my previous stylist said she couldn't do. I have received so many compliments so I am definitely going to continue to book with Vange!

The hairstylist I got was very pleasant, the curls looked nice but it wasn't exactly what I wanted based on the photos I send. I wasn't "wow'd". I wanted a braid incorporated into the hair, I told her I wanted a big thick braid on the side and it was little and nothing special. There wasn't enough volume and it went flat shortly after that. Overall great service, my socks just weren't blown off and you want that for your wedding day.

Amazing Salon! Cannot say enough good things about this place. The friendly staff and chill atmosphere is a great place to come and unwind, or have girl talk with the team! I have seen Vange for many years now, not only is she a super talented stylist but I always love the conversation that comes with my appointments. Was only advised that my stylist no longer worked there after being seated in her chair. Let her replacement do my hair and ended up with dark red roots offset by bright blond hair. Not exactly a nice look. Called later the same day and asked to have it fixed. Was told to come right over. Waited an hour in the waiting area and finally left very upset. Won't be going back, so now have to pay to have it fixed elsewhere.

I had my wedding recently and Vange was just awesome! She came over to my father’s house and was able to do everyone’s hair in such a short time! She really bailed everyone’s styled look and she was so cool and laid back. It was perfect for the occasion!! We were 5 people getting our hair done, she was able to keep my hair curled and tightly tucked even though my hair is very fine and straight!! Wonderful job!!

Tried to contact them via phone over multiple days multiple times with no answer. So I then tried to contact them via their website and received no response. Totally would understand if they were booked up or not taking new customers but to complete ignore someone is just plain rude and terrible service. Found better service elsewhere and will no longer be attempting to contact this location or recommend them.

So I have been coming to this Salon since the day they have opened. Hair Expectations consistently has great service, the most awesome staff and they always make my visit enjoyable. They maintain an excellent product selection, great sales and have fabulous prices. If you are looking for just a simple pedicure or haircut or a full day treatment for your special day, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

They offer many kinds of waxing, yet any time I go there is only ONE person there who can do the waxing, and they are never in more than 5 hours a day, even though the business is open 11 hours most days. Further, they are incredibly overpriced. They don't seem to understand that if they advertise services, those services should be available the entire time they are open.

I could not say better things about this salon. The whole team is fantastic. I've had my hair done by the *amazing* Vange for the past 10 years and she never disappoints. Emily is fantastic with waxing and Katie is great to chat with during mani/pedis and truly make you feel pampered! The new space is gorgeous and has truly elevated this wonderful business.

Excellent experience - from the location to the warmth of the staff. Super clean and amazingly creative artists. I hired Hair Expectations for my wedding last Friday to come to Strathmere to get myself and the bridesmaids ready. They were lovely, and they managed my girls very well. The bridesmaids were beautiful and I was very impressed with the results of both hair and makeup. Rachel, Jenn, Lindsay and Emily were great, very professional and efficient.

We love this place and we’ve been going here for years. Every staff memeber has been professional and friendly and they are always very accommodating if I need to reschedule or have a hair cut adjusted. I have recommended this salon to family and friends and I will continue to do so.

Great staff and awesome service. Took my 3 daughters there for a "back - to - school" trim and they went above and beyond to make sure the girls were comfortable and happy. Great price too.. The cost was very similar to our last visit to the big chain outfits.

I have had the pleasure of having Vange on site for multiple special events. She pays attention to detail and creates a flawless look each time. I have seen other staff for eyebrow waxes as well and these ladies are professional, warm, and welcoming.
