I usually get my ombré done elsewhere (over an hour away) but decided to get it done here instead since it’s 10 mins away. - My hair soaked the back of my top after leaving the basin which is ok it happens but annoying - Basin water was either freezing cold or too hot + didn’t have a neck holder so my neck really hurt. Something was put in place after expressing discomfort - Hair dresser didn’t make conversation with me in the entire 4 hours I was sitting there. Asked me one question about work but then didn’t respond so couldn’t eventuate to a conversation. When I’m at the hair dresser for 3-4 hours the level of conversation a stylist has with me can make a huge difference. - felt like the hair dresser didn’t understand what ombré was due to the 10 minutes she spent talking about confusing terminology, and when showed photos she just said often they have filters and isn’t accurate? Again I didn’t feel confident she understood by but tried to trust the process since she’s a hair dresser and my understanding is they know what ombré is and how it should be done . - Hair came out patchy and block like 0 blending occurred - when I called no apology was given for how anxious I expressed I was about this situation. Was offered to be fixed free of charge but if couldn’t be done right the right time how could I have faith a second go would make any difference. I’d rather go somewhere else that can spend their 4 hours worth while. I’ve been to hair masters on and off for over 10 years but this experience has left me anxious and disappointed. Owner and majority of staff are lovely and have never had any faults until this experience - just this one. I have chosen not to give 1 star because I know this is a terrific business and this one experience is not an overall accurate representation of the business or the great outcomes I’ve usually had had. I cannot praise this salon enough. Their skill is top notch, and not only are they remarkably friendly, but they have an abundance of compassion and understanding. My husband has severe anxiety and after our last hairdresser moved away it took over 12 months for us to find a salon he was comfortable walking into, let alone comfortable enough to let them touch his hair (he's a tradie with a mop of curly hair most women would kill for). The staff here took the time to make sure he was with the perfect hairdresser for his needs (Maz, we love you, please don't go anywhere ever) but also advised us on quieter times so there was less fuss and bustle in the clinic. The next time he decided to get a cut, was a week before our wedding in peak spring carnival season. Not only did they get us BOTH in, but they were remembered who we were as soon as we walked in to try and find a time, and made accommodations for us. I highly recommend this salon.

I decided to try a different hairdressers for a change. They seemed quite busy but weren't running too late, probably just under 10 minutes. Staff seemed lovely to your face. However the moment another customer stepped out of earshot for a minute or two, two of the hairdressers were talking very meanly about her, for everyone to hear. As soon as she came back they were nice to her face. Unprofessional. Also did not care about QR checking in or have the staff wearing face masks, considering they get very close to your face. The haircut itself was alright, nothing spectacular, but at least not the worst I've had.

Very disappointing experience at this salon. I paid $350 for a Keratin smoothing treatment that actually ruined my hair and set me back further hundreds of dollars trying to correct what Hairmasters did. I was even more disappointed to learn that an unqualified apprentice did this to me, not once was she supervised or any other senior staff came to check she was doing the right thing given I was there for such an expensive service!!! They might be good at cutting hair but they handball their treatments to their junior staff with dire results

The hair colour is average and absolutely nothing like I asked for, but the worst thing is that I have hair dye stained to my forehead and ears and down the side of my face, the senior colourist Maddie said yes that sometimes happens, she should never have left hairdye on my skin, she should have cleaned the mess before the hairdye set in. I also waited at the sink for 30 minutes with wet hair for her to do my toner, which she ended up delegating anyway. I'll have to get it re-done / fixed, really disappointed.

So happy to have Hair Masters in Chelsea.I have tried most local Hairdressers over the years and I must say Hair Masters are the most friendly,professional ,and clean salon I have been to for years. I had colour ,foils and trim,and was very happy with the result,staff are very friendly and the owner Peter takes the time to chat to everyone and makes you feel very welcome.I have been back again and nothing has changed,still great service.I would recommend Hair Masters to anyone and will continue to go there.

Lovely place, took my son in for his first hair cut. The lady was wonderful and so patient with him! She didn't even charge us even though I wanted to pay something. After a hard day at work, I booked in a cut and blow wave - great service, i didnt feel forgotten like you can feel sometimes at a salon that's overly busy. This salon was clean, well lit and I felt pampered the whole time.
