Incredibly the worst customer service place to ever rent a vehicle from. Now i see why they have a low rating to begin with. Do not come here if you expect high... no no i refrain, do not come here if you expect any type of decent quality customer service. They gave me a great car (due to my anazing insurance). Was a literal 3 step process. 1. Heres your rental. 2. Sign for any existing damages. 3. Heres the keys. It was that easy. Good service so far? Yeah it was okay, i got a vehicle. Although, I didn't feel welcomed. I was "TOLD" to "sit down on that seat until he comes back". Maybe he is having a bad day. Everyone has them. I took the car they gave me and left with a moderate service they gave. When returning the vehicle, I thought to myself and had no idea what you do. I have never rented a car before. I called this branch bavk and asked the lady who answered the phone if I should do anything or needed to do anything to the vehicle before returning it. I asked specifically, "do i need to wash it, vacuum or clean the inside, and/or put gas". She said without hesitation, no. Assuming she has done this a million times and her first thought was to have great service towards customers, I did not think to question her. She also informed me that i could leave the vehicle at the shop where i was picking up my car and when they recieved the vehicle bank they would refund me my $50 deposit. A few days later when i was expecting my $50 deposit back in my account, I am actually charged $89 and change. What? My thoughts exactly. I immediately called and asked to speak with the manager on duty. The guy who answered the phone said he was the manager. Luckily i did not get his name. I asked him if there was some damages to the car. His answer was no. I asked him why was the reason i got charge $90. His answer was "you did not fill the car with gas so we charged you to fill it up". Keep in mind its a V6 vehicle that uses regular unleaded. My V8 vehicle that uses 93 octane fuel does not take anywhere close to $90 to fill up. He was absolutely no help. Did not even try to help me. Every question and statement i told him, he would refrain to the "policy". "You signed a contact staying you need to fill up the car before you return it back to us". Even after informing him of what the lady on the phone told me i specifically did not have to, he said "we so not have a lady that works at our branch". Literally was absolutely no attempt to help me. I finally askes him to get me to someone who can help me. So he gave me corporate office number. These people where no help due to it being an "in branch issue". They told me to call the branch back and speak with the branch owner. Not wanting to call back, I had to. Different person answered the phone and I specifically asked for the branch owner. They gave me Joseph's number, who is a manager. He cleared a few things up for me that were a HUGE reason why their customer service was not up to par: 1. All the team members there were less than 2 weeks old. 2. There was a female that worked there, but she recently got fired. 3. They "are supposed to" go over all terms of the contract with me. (Which they did not do) For these reasons i have to pay the price for the fuel In the rental and the overdraft frees that my bank took out for insufficient funds. This was no longer about the money, although i would've loved that back considering i had to pay for it not them. This was now a principle issue. He offered me half of the $90 back, which i was only given $40 back. This obviously is not half. He couldn't help with my overdraft fees either. Mostly there was no responsibility taken for poor customer service. Just read the previous review. They all speak for themselves. There was way more but it did not let me finish. Over HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT COME HERE

My insurance company set up an appointment to receive a car here at 9 AM today. I showed up at 8:45 because they open at nine and I just wanted to get my vehicle and start my day. The office was already open and there were articles of employees belongings showing that someone had been there at least before opening. I waited until 930, no one had shown up. By this time I was very concerned that nobody was going to show up. I called The Hertz customer service line to let them know of the delay and problem. They called the manager no answer, they called the area manager no answer, they called the city manager. Guess what? No answer. So the customer service representative sent an email to somebody in hopes that someone would call me back. Meanwhile I’ve been sitting at this hotel for an hour and a half at this point with hopes that I would hear from somebody. I reached my limit of patience. I called my insurance company to cancel the car reservation and setup one with Enterprise. While I waited for Enterprise to pick me up I spoke with the hotel lobby staff (the Hertz rental kiosk is inside the hotel parking garage) to let them know if the problems I had with Hertz. They told me they’ve been having the same kind of problems for months and no longer recommend Hertz to their customers. This is really sad because Hertz rents this kiosk inside this hotel and the hotel tells their customers to go elsewhere. I would not recommend Hertz to anyone.

Made a reservation well in advance for a vehicle at this location. Tried calling the place a few times to help locate them. No answer. Go to the hotel that has the same address and they get me to the right spot. They have a office in a parking structure. I go in and tell the man working there who I was and that I was there to get my rental. He fumbles some papers and tells me that they are out of cars. I was almost positive that if they were truly out of cars he would have already known that without having to look through some papers. I tell the guy that it’s not that big of a deal to just get me a refund and I could go look elsewhere for a car. Guy tells me he can’t do that. Tells me it’s too late for me to cancel and get a refund. I say to get my money refunded of get me a car. He keeps telling me he can’t. Long story short don’t do business at this location. I had to spend a long time on the phone with hertz and not sure I’ll ever get my money returned. This location is in the screwing people business. Do better Hertz. Zero Stars would have been more appropriate.

Misrepresentation of the charges- I initially booked online for a 3 day reservation at $113 at a rate of $23 a day plus charges. I called in advance to add a day to that charge. When I went to pick up the car the associate offered me damage liability waiver for $24 which would bring my total to $175. He explained that they charge you double the return your deposit when you return the car so at this point all the charges made sense. In reality I was being charged an additional $175 for my 12 extra hours of rental because what he really sold me was a liability coverage at a daily rate. $288 total despite being originally quoted for what I was told would be $113 and then upped to $175. The $3 a day cheaper rate compared to other companies is not worth it to risk them blatantly telling your incorrect information.

I would give them 0 stars if I could. We rented a car well in advance and less than 16 hours before we received a phone call that they had no car to give us. And to me this is just unacceptable. You should not be renting out cars you do not have. The man on the phone had no help no recommendations or ideas for other options. We were IN a wedding the next day and had to have a car. They instructed us to call corporate. Well according to them there should be a car for us but according to the little office there wasn’t. Poor communication from all involved and we had to go out on our own and find another car to rent and since this was a “last minute rental” we had to spend several hundred more dollars. I will NEVER rent from this company again.

Booked on the hertz website and received confirmation. Upon arrival, the location has no record of the booking. The system automatically routed the booking to the airport. I was there with two other person and none of our bookings showed up in their system. They also had only 2 car in the garage. The staff finally called a uber and sent us to the airport to pickup the car. Airport staff said they should have come to the airport themselves to pick up the car for us. You should definitely call the location to confirm your booking.

Avoid this place. The guy who works here is very rude and lacks basic customer service. I booked a rental months in advance and he called me the day before to tell me he had no cars. It was no big deal to him but I really needed to rent a car! He said one may or may be returned in 24 hours so I called the next morning to see if one was dropped off that night. Wow did I inconvenience him, lol, he was so rude and annoyed. When I asked him to keep me posted he hung up on me! I canceled this rental and found a at elsewhere.

The car rental company allowed me to select this location when I booked and picked up my car. I arrived and the location was closed. After talking on the phone to a representative they informed me to leave my car however I will remain liable for the car until tommorrow morning and i would pay additional fees if I kept the car for another day. Hertz should not allow this to happen and should retain all liability after a car is returned to their location or should not allow a person to drop off a car there.

The girl at the front desk did not pick up the phone beforehand so we could ask some questions before we arrived. We even called another location to make sure they were even open. When we got there she didn't even look up to greet us. So we said "hello"? and her response was yes? Really ?! Why do you think we're there for lady ! How about a proper greeting at the minimum. She was very nonchalant about her job , I recommend improving your hiring process!

Mohammed was extremely helpful. I’ve had the worst experience trying to get my car repaired and Mohammed was able to make getting a rental the easiest part. He detailed the entire process and even went to the extent of advising me what information I needed to provide to the insurance so that everything was rightfully covered. I’m really happy with the service. And the vehicle! Note: The office is on P3 level of the garage, below the Marriott

hey everyone, i just wanted to warn you all DO NOT USE HERTZ. their customer service team is horrible, repeatedly give incorrect information, & i’ve been waiting over two weeks now for a refund for the reservation fee i was required to make before i got the rental car. they are constantly switching between 5-7 or 7-10 days for the refund processing so it’s obvious that this company is not only unprofessional but unorganized.

I got a phone call from Hertz an hour before I was supposed to pick up my rental car (which I had booked a month ago). I was told they had no cars available for the 70 reservations they had. I understand overbooking, but this level of overbooking is completely irresponsible. It is difficult to imagine that Hertz was not aware of the impending problem days in advance. Definitely not planning to ever rely on Hertz again.

Well, for one, this location is closed. Is there any indication from the website that they're closed? Nope. The phone number you call just says "this user has not set up their voicemail." They are trying to get us to drop it off at a location outside of the city now.... Then how will we get back? We're wasting a huge part of our short vacation here trying to sort out this mess. What a disorganized shitshow.

It's a pretty sad day when you go to assist a guest of a hotel, and the Hertz agent, in this case Brandon places you on hold and never returns. Call back and get told, "you can get pricing from the website". Once again placed on hold, never to return. Bottom line if in need of a car rental in downtown San Antonio, go with Enterprise or Avis. Better, friendlier service without the wasted time and effort

Terrible & dishonest service. 5 months after vehicle was returned they attempted to surprise bill us for damages to the vehicle after we returned the keys and safely parked the vehicle inside the parking garage. Their “proof” - a photo outside in a completely different location. An employee or another customer likely dinged the vehicle.

I was left at the collision center where I dropped my car off for repairs. Statefarm set up the reservation with this place. Yasmin told me someone was on the way to pick me up, I waited an hour assuming they were stuck in traffic. No one ever showed up or called me. They just left me with no transportation.

Don’t rent from this place. I made a reservation online for 3 days at this location, when I got there they told me that they were out of cars but they didn’t even bother to call me ahead of time and let me know. That black girl at the front desk she’s got a damn attitude that I was about to slap her!

While originally I was bummed about returning my car to the closed location, the Hertz team has once again lead innovation by training the local lizards and geckos to return my car for me, and print off my paperwork! Crickets all around for everyone! Awesome job Hertz team; 5 stars!

Grlreat experience! Isaiah was very nice and professional. Seems like he really likes and cares about his job. I have trouble driving downtown, but I called and he helped me find the right spot and made the whole thing quick and painless. Thank you so much

Pickup: Go to the counter inside the hotel, get the key and pick-up the car from level 3 basement parking. Returns: drive directly to level 3 basement at the Marriott and follow the lack of signs to Hertz. Take the elevator up and deliver the key.

Rude customer service. Made a reservation and they didn't bother to call me to tell me they had no cars. I show up and they say "oops we forgot to call!" Phil is the worst. Didn't even offer a solution. Just ignored me. Don't rent from here.

Do not reserve with this company! I was called 2 hours before picking up the car I reserved only to be told that they had over 50 reservations for that same day with no cars available so they cancelled my reservation, unacceptable.

I was very happy with the service I received. I called and reserved a car on the phone and the following day I picked up my vehicle without any trouble. Very courteous employees. This office is located in the lobby of the Marriott.

We did not reserve a car in advance which I recommend doing. Guy told us it would be 400 a day for the car. When my husband asked me if we should just Uber he then said it would only be 100. Don’t get ripped off by this place !

Had to circle the hotel several times before I guessed that Hertz was in the parking garage. No signs until you’re 2 levels down. Have to go all the way up to and past the hotel lobby to drop the keys at the Hertz desk.

I was told that my debit card was red flagged, but they wouldn't say by whom, and refused to honor my reservation. I discovered that I don't need Hertz and saved quite a bit of money using the TURO app.
