What has happened to Home Goods at Cascade Station in recent months. This is a store I loved to visit when I was in Portland. It was clean and neat, wonderfully displayed merchandise. Everything was in order. I made frequent purchases. About two months ago I visited the Cascade Station and found it a complete mess. Merchandise was not in order on the shelves, aisles were blocked with carts from the stock room, the line waiting for a cashier was really long. I put the merchandise I had selected back on the shelves and left the store. This week I again visited Home Goods at Cascade Station. Even before entering the store, shopping carts were all over the sidewalk, the store was again in complete disorder. There was merchandise on the floor, thrown on shelves in no order. Stock had been rearranged so it made no sense at all. And the topper was the women's bathroom - filthy dirty. I again left the store making no purchases. Where is your management? Certainly not tending to business.

I was just at the store today and there was a line of at least 20 customers waiting to check out but one register was open. while standing in line two or three employees were at the front doing things and interacting with the cashier but never helped. Additionally the cashier never once called for assistance and while in walking through the store I noticed four or five other employees around doing things like stooking and tagging. after 10 minutes of not having any movement in the line because of an issue that customer at the cashier was having so I left the goods I was going to by and departed. It appears the store was well-staffed but nobody seemed to care about checking out the customers. Seems odd because I watched two other people leave after I did without purchasing anything so how will the salaries of those employees be covered if customers are not buying goods because nobody bothers to help them.

The stores an absolute mess!! What about fire safety? If there was an emergency people would struggle to get out, tags are not on merchandise! I was treated very rudely by the manager while trying to understand/negotiate the prices for 2 pillows that were EXACTLY the same; only 1 had a price tag and on the tag it said 2 DECORATIVE PILLOWS! Easy to understand right? One solid price for two pillows? she tried telling me the other pillow THAT WAS IDENTICAL to the other were completely different prices and completely different pillows.. Why would anyone pay one price for a pillow and then another higher price for the same pillow? She was sweating and turning red in her face aa she was talking to me VERY rudely. I left extremely angered and will not be coming back to this location! Ever! And someone needs to tell that manager to do some actual labor around there! She was like 450 pounds!

I never write reviews; however, this was a horrible experience. I needed to use the restroom while I was shopping and I realized we needed a code. I went to go look for someone who worked there, but there was no one around. I went to the front and politely asked someone if they could unlock it for me. To my surprise another person answered for the younger man working there, and it was an older women. She rudely responded with, “THE BATHROOMS ARENT OPEN,” and walked away. This doesn’t seem like a big deal, but the tone she used with me was disrespectful. Not to mention when I went to go use it in the beginning, a person was coming out of bathroom that was supposedly “closed.” She looked like she was the manager. I was not pleased with my experience at this location.

❤️‍ this store is amazing It's packed with so much cool stuff and I was able to go ahead and get this teapot that I really wanted! What will amaze you is the prices of the goods there which is absolutely wonderful. You know those stores that are just jam-packed with personality? This store is that and so much more they are so many things here to look at and honestly I had to pick up a few other items too and they completely had them I'm not kidding about this the store is jam-packed with stuff so if you really like to shop for eclectic things and for really just a selection definitely go here It's going to be a big part of my Christmas shopping.

  • Rachel Uhlig

We were the only people in line waiting to purchase items for more than five minutes completely ignored by three cashiers helping the same person at one register. There were numerous other employees that could have helped us. Not a single employee acknowledged our presence even though we were in their designated "wait here for next cashier" spot. They should have called for a backup cashier if they were having a problem at the one register. Or at least acknowledged us. We ended up leaving the items we wanted there and not purchasing anything. What a waste of my time. Guess I'll just buy the items somewhere else if they are not interested in my business.

  • Renee B

Very wide selection of various home goods (as the name suggests). Don't expect much else, though. And by that I mean be prepared to figure out where anything is and sift through a disorganized, disheveled mess to find it. The bare-bones crew was less than helpful and everywhere i looked the salesfloor was about as shoppable and organized as a Wal-Mart clearance aisle. if you don't mind that, the actual merchandise is great. The only pleasant and helpful staff we encountered at all were the checkout staff. Y'all gotta know though that there's more to running a successful retail store than just a pleasant front-end experience.

  • Gary Piazza

Another reviewer said HomeGoods was like a treasure hunt. I couldn't agree more. Each time we shop here, we end up coming home with more items than what we planned for. Lots of discounted items and you can find great deals on things you use everyday. Oil, for example. We choose to buy our avocado oil here because of the price. We also buy coffee, treats, spices, and pasta here. Staff is friendly and helpful and Covid measures are in place. Check out is pretty swift even during busy hours and cashiers are always gentle with fragile merchandise. We frequent this location a couple of times a month as it is conveniently located.

The quality of the stuff and the selection is pretty good, except for furniture which they may not have in adequate variety or quantities. I liked a chair I saw here but didn't have 4 of them. I asked them to help me locate more of it at their other stores, but spent half an hour waiting on a supervisor and an employee who were rude, standoffish , and ignoring me. She didn't even acknowledge my question of if she was on the phone with the other store for me, while she was staying quiet holding the phone. Few young folks help you here but don't count on their customer service...and the prices are not that great either.

  • David Larson

Extremely disappointed in the management staff here. I was looking at one of their funny gift sets that’s over 300 bucks and before I could even show it to my boyfriend I was confronted by a member of management who proceeded to tell me “After you’re done looking that, can you please put it back up.” In an negative tone. That’s not how you treat your customers. I’m a retail manager myself and I understand the struggle with customers leaving product everywhere but that’s no excuse to walk up to someone and accuse them of something they “could’ve” done. I will not be shopping here again. Happy holidays I guess.

  • Lauren Haines

I use to love shopping here, but will not be coming back. They have the absolute more rude, mean horrible women named eve there who’s a “coordinator”. I literally had asked for a small discount for a mirror that had lil chips everywhere over it. And rudely saying to me no, when over and over again I said ok ... she basically said because it’s home goods and prices are lower that, it means I don’t get a discount on a mirror because that’s what happens when you shop at goodwill. Keep in mind her demeanor, her attitude, energy and just everything was absolutely disgusting.

  • janet oneal

They at least try to minimize the spread of covid. Don't go on the weekends unless you enjoy standing in a long line waiting to enter the store. It's a real challenge to shop if you have to use a shopping cart as the aisles are narrow and 90% of the shoppers do not respect the arrows making for too much close contact and impossible to actually look on the shelves with carts going both directions. Is it really that hard to figure out there is an organized way to navigate the store? If I end up with covid it will undoubtedly be from ignorant, careless shoppers!

  • Desiree Moreno

I would say today was by far the worst I’ve ever seen at the store. I literally watched a woman get assaulted by another woman who were shopping and when management was asked if they were gonna do anything about it they just didn’t care and said “nope I can’t do anything about it” I’m like OK are you gonna call the cops? They said “nope will let corporate know” And just continued on to let the person who assaulted another shopper just keep shopping they did nothing about it. The stores disgusting management should be fired

  • Cheryl Lauerman

Home Goods is great! However, I was there on a Sunday about 3:00 and waited in line for over a half hour to buy one item. They had 2 checkers and I counted 18 people in line. Finally after a half hour the checkers must have noticed the line went practically to the entrance and two more came up. It was ridiculous! People were getting very upset. I almost left and I think a couple people did. The checker told me, "they have cut hours." I felt bad for her because it was taken out on her! I doubt I'll be shopping there again!

  • Rachel Higgins

I love HomeGoods and I like this location, but I wish they actually required shoppers to keep their masks on inside. Besides the very common nose above the mask, (I saw at least three people doing that today), I saw a man completely remove his mask and then carry on a loud conversation with the woman he was shopping with, glaring at other shoppers, and trying to get them to react/engage with him. Nobody that worked there did anything, and I ended up leaving then. It might be best to avoid HomeGoods until Covid is over.

  • Charlene Jaszewski

There are many Home Goods locations all over Portland, but this location seems to be the biggest, with the best selection of whatever season it is. Like for Christmas, shop here first for decorations! I always find something fun or pretty every time I visit. My one beef is that if you shop in the evening, there never seems to be enough cashiers, so you have to wait in a long line. In the time of COVID, this isn't a good idea, to have to be standing next to other people for a long time.

  • RK Glass

Do you want to buy STUFF you probably don't need? I do like this place though. Kitchen goods, organic smoothie additives, carpets, frames, pet supplies, furniture, all sorts of items. I did include a picture of the check out line. I've been here many times. The most I ever waited was 8 minutes...it wasnt that bad. Staff is friendly especially to my son, a little cramped in the isles, great selection, reasonably clean, but some of the customers can be pushy. Will go again.

  • Michelle C

Home goods is a great place to go if you don’t know exactly what you’re looking for they have such a wide variety of unique home items. For Christmas I got my husband some dominoes that were not like any I have seen anywhere. They were black with a gold top You can find anything from outdoor furniture or two rugs to lamps to ceiling lamps glass cookware gourmet food just really anything for the home you can find here there’s always a new treasurer waiting to be discovered

  • Ryan Johnstone

We just go in sometimes and take a lap. We have stopped, many times and outfitted our home with so many items from Home Goods. HG doesn’t always have something, but they get some thing new in every day, so it’s easy to frequent and find something you didn’t see last time. This location is a great example of the quality goods that HG stocks. Not many retail experiences do we enjoy any more but the variety, ease of access and customer service is above the standard.

  • Misty Luther

Always seem to stumble across great little finds here, from items I was in need of to yummy snacks I haven't had before. I found a great little set of organizer drawers for my roommate the other week. There are so many beautiful pieces of furniture I wish I had the space for, like the lovely wicker egg chair they had last week. My only gripe out of all the times I have been there is that I have not seen the delicious honey spoons they had in a long time. XD

  • Lori Foshee

This is the WORST Home Goods I've ever been in. This store is ALWAYS a mess with merchandise spilling out into the isles, absolutely no merchandising as things to appear to have been just dumped on the shelves in no order. It's ridiculous!! There's no excuse for this as there appeared to be plenty of employees but they just don't seem to want to put out the effort. It's a shame because this is a great location. What an embarrassment!!

  • Jim Cornwall

I like that they have lots of cool and unique things for your home. I've recently found some great finds. My big beef with this location and another I've been too recently is the one way aisles. I tried to follow the arrows but almost no one else does including staff. I finally gave up. Since no one follows the arrows HomeGoods should remove them. I've found that almost no one follows the one way aises at other retailers either.

This establishment is agist and discriminitory towards people with disabilities. I firmly believe that the woman working here should experience severe punishment -- if not termination. Your role as a worker in the store is to help the people inside. Buckwheat, I recommend you take a deep look as to what your core values are and who you are fundementally as a person, because you've gotten nowhere in your life.

  • Christina C.

Not allergen friendly nor sanitary. Despite a sign clearly stating people cannot bring pets into the store, they do. Only the store manager will ask people with pets to remove them and the associates do not call the manager when they see pets. if you don't mind dog hair in the cart you are going to be putting your food in, or you don't have an allergy to animals, then I'm sure it's fine to shop here.

  • Amy Den

Rude customer service/Cashier. With 5 people at the front desk, none can help us for transaction. When asked for help, She said since there is no long line waiting, so no additional cashier needed despite the fact that we waited for a long time. To add to the insult, she wanted us to walk all the way back to receive service. Never had such a bad experience at a HomeGoods like this one!

  • Maria L

Great place to go shopping for discounted items for your kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, home office and more. I can get lost in here for a few hours wandering around aisles and finding cute and affordable decorations or inventive items to organize the home. The staff is also very friendly and during the weekend the place can get a bit crowded so go during the week if you can.

  • The Tinkerer's Wife

Like junk shopping for new stuff, pretty much a hodge podge of items. Can be hard to find sets and pairs of things area rug selection was good though. I know people like this place, but if you need something fairly specific I wouldn't recommend it. Prices are okay, but watch for damaged goods, especially in things like knitted throws. This is a fancy liquidation store.

  • Jason Vance

Ok so this is Ross for stuff inside your home. You have to dig(part of the fun..even just to browse)sometimes to find something you need or really want. But sometimes you just find that golden nugget at a great price...and sometimes not. The glasses, dishwear, mats, etc are all good..some of the furniture though can be..well an experience lol

  • Adam Harden

Came in with my wife (shoulda known better) looking for one thing. 50min later walked out with things I didn’t know we needed for prices I wasn’t expecting to pay. It was Sunday AM, so of course it was packed - but the store was easy to move through, the checkout was fast, and I enjoyed my experience. Definitely will be checking out again.

  • Dorte Morse

Bought 2 large sets of clothing hangers, the quality was terrible, the first hanger I tried broke, could not even hold the weight of a cotton dress. I went to return and the manager would not take the hangers back as they were not in sellable condition! Terrible customer service and bad quality items, I will not go back .

  • Gutsylady Traveler

A must visit if you love home decor or you’re just looking to revamp your place. There’s home decor for every room in your abode. I was impressed by the unique and different things you’ll find here, all at reasonable prices. A refreshing change from other chains. Located right in the heart of Cascade Station mall.

  • Deanne Edwards

Shopped there last Sunday March 27th, 2022 at about noon. Only 1 checker with a line of about 50 people - 3 aisles long. Complained to checker saying should have more checkers available. Was told manager could care less, that it’s been brought up any times. Will never shop there again. Have posted to Facebook.

  • Jennifer Brown

HomeGoods has a little bit of everything for nearly everybody. Perfect place to find a quick gift for any age, or add a little spice to your home decor. They have everything from coffee and pasta (only non perishable foods), to furniture and toys. Decent prices on everything!!! Love this store.

  • D’ma Extraordinaire

Chaotic! They’ve crammed in so much product, that it is difficult to maneuver around the store with a cart. I’m sure this is just a seasonal thing but it doesn’t make for a pleasant shopping experience. In the future, I’ll avoid shopping here during the holidays. Friendly, engaging employees.

  • Sandra M

Treasures down every aisle! I love browsing around this store and getting lost in all of the beautiful Decor. The store offers a large variety of seasonal decorations, as well as miscellaneous kitchen, gadgets, items for your pets, children, bathroom needs, furniture, and fun food items.

  • Fun 1 PS

By far the sole reason I go here. Larger store always packed full of any and everything you may desire. No 2 trips are ever the same with a great rotating stock. Word to the wise if you see it and want it, get it. It won't be there when you go back later trust me.

  • Frank Aff

I'm not a fan of lots of miscellaneous merchandise packed on shelves and crowding the isles, but my wife and daughter love the variety and value on bedroom and bathroom items at this store. Customer service at checkout was great (fast, friendly and efficient)!

  • Sande Sivani

I love Home goods! I can always find a couple of items that I can't live without when I visit. The selection of merchandise is so varied and priced so reasonably that gifts and home decorating items seem to jump off the shelf and into my basket on their own.

  • Kelsey Dickinson

I LOVE this place. Cute stuff. Great prices. Better than Ross by far. Discount stores don't have the best customer service to begin with, so I don't understand all of the complaints. Go in. Buy your stuff. Leave. Keep your receipt! Again... LOVE this place.

  • Jay LeDoux

Mediocre place to shop for home decor. Always hit and miss. You have to understand where they get their stuff. It's things that don't sell elsewhere, merchandise that was involved in a truck crash, overstock. We've found exactly one nice piece of artwork.

  • Fiorella Calderoni

Candles galore for $7-14! There is always something cute, fun, or handy to be found for your home. Prices are mostly reasonable. There are lots of cashiers so even if the line looks long, it moves quickly. There is usually lots of parking available, too.

  • CMW CMW

My go to for household items. They have beautiful sheets, excellent quality and in different price ranges. Unique items that make nice gifts. Like the fact that if you return something you can use your store credit at Home Goods, Marshall’s or TJ Max.

  • Sherril Acton

I love this place! Such a variety of home goods. They have great furniture too! They really have almost everything you need to furnish your home, outdoor areas, great pet bedding too. Some really fun items, if I could shop here every week, I would!

  • Dr. Talismae Copeland

I love to slowly browse through the store. Make sure to check out the clearance sections and the imported food section. I keep going back for everything we need to decorate and function in our house. Excellent service and the parking is plentiful.

  • Baley Cabin (Kristin Baley)

So many ideas for holiday decor! Many price ranges, with something for any budget. Easy to start a new home decor or basics here. Well stocked and organized, lines weren't too long for checkout, restrooms are locked so had to wait a bit to get in.

  • Rachelle Miller

The store is great. But at check out the employees have to push their credit card/rewards card on you. The cashier told me that's the only way they get hours, is by selling you on these cards. If that is true, that is horrible and annoying.

  • Stephanie M Edmark

This place is life. I redid all textiles in my bedroom and bathroom in white for barely $500. I also bought the $300 amethyst crystal geode but didn't add that in to the 500 as it's not your typical purchase. Classy and gorgeous selection!

  • Cendy Prator

Got a new rug there and the prices are decent. They were helpful and started the return policy at check out as well as helping me carry the carpet out to my car. Also got dishes for a good price. I will go back to found more home goods.

  • Anna Luberg

Just wanted to give a shout-out to Logan, who is taking a real good care of his customers! Yesterday he assisted me with choosing a rug, folded it the way it could fit into my car and put it in. Thank you for good vibes and help!

  • Danielle Murray

Hours are wrong online, showed up 4 minutes too late to grab the thing I had seen earlier in the day that I came back for... now I get to drive 45 minutes back home empty handed. Please update your online hours!

  • Erin Johnson

This store is fairly clean, just the bathrooms need more attention each time I go in. The employees are very helpful and get you checked out fairly quickly. Always great products and it is pretty organized.

  • jennie terranova

Clarissa and Mary Ellen went above and beyond helping me move large items into my Corolla! I’m amazed at their ability to be so helpful and make sure nothing got damaged. So lucky to have had their help!

  • Barbara Bolich

Love this store. If you like it, buy it. Many of the 4-legged furniture is off-kilter, so look for adjustable feet. Tons of decorative pieces, rugs, kitchen. Changes constantly. Usually has trendy goods.

  • Bergen Ahrens

My favorite store ever! I visit once a week and they always have so much stuff to look at it takes me like an hour! The employees are all super sweet and the quality of their products is excellent.

  • Charcie Peabody

Love this Home Goods! I bought 2 outdoor chairs and I love them! Eli helped with everything even putting them in my car. His manager was amazing with customer service and helping right away.

  • David Wellcome

Oh my. I love this store!! They have just about anything, and everything you could want! I can spend all day here going through it all!!!! I mean, look at this Lazy-Susan, just 19$!!

  • darren birch

I always end up finding some interesting coffee mugs and pictures here the only thing I would like to see is a little better organization maybe not having I'll squeeze this tight

  • Mannette Foster

I love this store. I always find something wonderful for my home. Bedding, chairs, office organizer, wine glasses and vitamins. Also bought some fantastic outdoor tables.

  • Anna Crowell

To the tune of many other people here in these reviews don’t expect to use the bathroom even if you’re a paying customer. There’s always some excuse why you can’t.

  • Kynda Cavilee

We love shopping here. The customer service is great. Returns are made simple and no hassle when needed. Home Decor and area rugs are well priced and high quality!

  • Deepyanti Taneja

This store closes at 9, not 930. They should update their timings on google. Horrible, rude staff as well. Go to another location for a better experience.

  • Jessica Hughes

Found a very sweet apron with my name on it. A freaking donut shop candle! I'm obsessed with donuts! And a bag of chocolate for a very sweet price.

  • T Ott

Home Goods main web page and a recently updated google maps (5weeks ago) both say that this store is open until 9:30. It’s not, It closes at 9:00.

  • heidi holmes

The staff member I encountered there was extremely snarky and rude when I asked for assistance. To the point that I won't return to this location.

  • Nadine Younger

Pretty cluttered, but a lot of selection and a lot of cute Christmas things. I get better deals at Hobby Lobby and much prefer shopping there.

  • ATISH DEO

The best place to get all sorts of household goods, great prices, got outdoor decor for $16 each real heavy stone .no plastic junk..go now

  • Alysha McCaffrey

I always have such a great experience at this store - lots of inventory to look through and last night tara gave me excellent service!

  • Jeff Lantz

Some good bargain items and generally clean store. Locked bathrooms due to homeless so have to bug staff if you need. We like it.

  • Emad Tadrous

Used to find more fun stuff to buy, always went home with a few things. Lately not so much, variety is not as enticing anymore

  • Deborah Boersma

Always a lot of good buys here. Their Christmas selection is exceptional. The employees are always friendly and happy to help.
