The burger at Honker was good but not really memorable. The meat patty wasn’t particularly juicy or flavoursome but the bread was good. Large chips could be bigger for $7.90 and the cookies n cream thickshake was also on the small side. I appreciate that the owner was passionate but in inner Melbourne, burger joints are a dime a dozen and I don’t think Honker compares to many of them. The prices on the menu board aren’t the actual prices which is frustrating. Sure, it might cost a lot to have the menu boards replaced/updated but at least tape (?) the correct prices over the top of the incorrect prices. We paid over $41 for 2 burgers, 1 large chips and a thickshake and I feel that that was far too expensive for what we got.

By far the best gluten free burger I’ve had recently in Sunbury!! I basically just had a grilled chicken with peri Mayo in super soft gluten free bun was so tasty and delicious, the manager/ owner gave me extra chicken and free water. I’m annoyed I didn’t get a photo of the food. Definitely recommend going there for sit in or takeaway and will definitely be going back!!!

Me and my wife absolutely love going to this place! The food is always made fresh and full of flavour. The owner who is always out front taking orders before going to help make the food, is a humble, kind and caring man. I can tell he just loves people and loves pouring out what he can into the community! Great burgers and chips! And I highly recommend trying the churros when you go to see him!! honker burgur is one of if not the best burgur joints in sunbury/ surrounding areas. the food is high quility and tastes amazing, the cost are very reasonable but the threes a cround is the best value you could ask for. the staff are extremely friendly and the owner is so welcoming. when i went in for the first time i got the spicy chicken burgur (which was the best ive had anywhere for its price) and the person that served me was able to customize my burger at not extra cost and even gave us extra souse that was more spicy if i wanted. I highly recommend this place!

I went there back the week it opened a few months ago, but only was recently able to start writing reviews. The food not only took 45 minutes to be made, but it was absolutely terrible. My veggie burger was seared on the outside, but cold on the inside. My partner's burger also wasn't good. The bacon was tough and he actually took it out because it was inedible. Both had no taste. The shakes were too sweet and mine tasted like it was full of flour. The best thing out of our order was the fries, and even they were mediocre. I wouldn't eat there again if the food was a quarter of the price. You pay too much for the quality that you receive.

Went to Honker Burger after travelling on a whim over to Sunbury from the other side of Melbourne. Went in and was greeted with a smile and excitement. This place is under new management, just recently. I have had alot of burgers in my life but this place was the best I've ever had. The chicken was coated in a yummy light and crispy southern batter, fresh slaw and bun. The service from the new owner was 10/10, he was so accommodating and friendly. I am not a pickle eater, he got me to try his homemade pickles and I have to admit they wrre delicious. We will defintely be back.

Food was absolutely awesome and top quality ingredients. The staff and management were also awesome and accommodating. This place is under new management and they are definitely putting in the effort to put their best foot forward. Canadian visiting Australia and I was in the sunbury area and was recommended to try Honker Burger. Holy smokes can’t even explain the amazing customer service and generosity by the owner Gary!! Food was ready half an hour before I asked for it to be ready. No apology when I asked them why. So I dropped what I was doing and rushed down there so my food wouldn't be cold. Fries were old and cold.. Shake was as runny as water.. And burger was okay, but size and quality to match maccas, not a high end burger. Won't be returning.

First off the staff are really nice and friendly, and also the food is really good, it was refreshing to eat compared to McDonald's and Hungry Jacks and all that, the food tasted fresh and overall it was a really nice experience dining in with my friends.
