Security was rude and aggressive on 4/1!!! My friend and I had in and out privileges at the showbox sodo from across the street since we’re over the age of 21. The lines for the bathroom were horrible at showbox so we tried running over to this place. I’ve done it in the past, no problem. There wasn’t security either at that time. This time, there was nobody outside to check ID’s either so I had walked towards the bathroom with my friend and security came and grabbed my friend and I and aggressively pulled us outside. He tried to say he had tried to get our attention a few times and shined a light at us which I never heard him or saw the light when I was obviously facing a way where I wouldn’t have seen him since the bathroom is straight in front. I told him to not touch me and showed him my ID and he refused to let us in the bar because we weren’t planning on buying a drink. We were just going to use the restroom. I personally could not buy alcohol. I got deviated septum and sinus surgery a week before to where I still wasn’t able to drink. I also feel like we were profiled because we were dressed in rave gear.
Came to Seattle from out of town for a concert and afterward found this bar. After my whole family was let in, brother and his wife, myself and my partner, my father, my sister-in-law’s parents, my mother was coming in and realized she only had her credit card with her, not a photo ID. Of course, this is a non issue considering she’s 55 right? We are clearly her children and over 25 right? Nope, the bouncer told her she needed to leave immediately because of course she’s a minor that we’re trying to smuggle into this dive bar for a beer. He was pretty awful to us and I’m extremely disappointed in the way our experience here turned out. He could have spoken to my mother like a person, rather than treating her like a rowdy teenager trying to pull one over on her. I’ve never had anything like this happened to myself or my mother and found the whole thing unprofessional and honestly pretty ridiculous. The place wasn’t very busy and they lost 8 customers, but clearly the customers don’t matter to this restaurant.
Decent place. Good place to stop on a ride home. It's not what it appears to be... But in a late night in the middle of the week, it is kinda what they try to pretend to be It's kinda interesting. The people who go there on the weekends wish they were the people that go there Wednesday at 1am. If that makes sense. The scotch selection is respectable and warrants stopping by on a quiet night. The beer is good. I need to go there just blindingly high on hallucinogens sometime to see how it glows. If I was in my twenties I'd be enamored with it. But places like the ☄️ just don't exist anymore.... So It's like as close as you get to a dive bar in Seattle. Late on a weekday or Thursday. And if your there then... Tip hard. Girls are lonely there. Hail Satan.

Just stopped by one afternoon to check it out it's very close to where I live. I saw a couple of pool tables and a medium crowd inside. It's good for people who work in the area I suppose and I am sure that it is cheaper than going someplace down town. I would rate it a seven from what I saw outside. Someone told me that they have an entrance in the front as well. I saw the back one out by the I guess you might call it an alley. I will check it out sometime maybe even tonight after I leave the arco am pm on 4th. It's probably got a group of people mainly that work close by.
Bought drinks and then the bouncers kicked us out after sitting at our table for at least 20 minutes because we had our own water bottles on the table that we had at the mariners game which we filled inside, mind you the security guard checking out IDs never said a thing about the empty bottles. Never coming back. Avoid! Waste of $24. Manager, please call us to give us our money back, Bouncer gave us zero chance to even talk to him.
Rolled in covered in blood after an e-scooter incident on my way to showbox sodo. The woman behind the bar was very gracious and understanding when I bothered her for a couple bandaids. Cleaned myself up and crushed a few pints with my pal - great atmosphere and great welcoming staff!!!! We went back after the show for some skeeball. 10/10 bar will absolutely be back if I’m ever in Seattle again. Love from Winnipeg MB!
Probably my favorite dive bar of all time. The bartenders are helpful and nice, the patrons are pretty cool, and the atmosphere is super chill. You can meet new people or keep to yourself, no one’s judging you here. Their beer selection is awesome, and the bartender know what they’re talking about. The only downsides are that it’s not in the best neighborhood ever, and it’s not gonna be for you if you’re a germaphobe.
This is a drinking establishment. If you want food, there are other choices. If you want beer and other drinks, and love the dive bar atmosphere, this is your place. Go nowhere else. If I remember correctly, Thursdays are karaoke nights, so plan accordingly. Last time I was there for that, it was fun... Embarrassingly fun

It is what you’d expect from a little bar next to the stadiums… it was a little bit grubby, but the staff made up for it. They were really nice to us when we went. One of the guys let me know that it might be a good idea to close my tab each time I ordered so I wouldn’t have to wait and miss any of the game. Of course, an influx of people stop by and slow down the closing out process right before the game starts.
Place is clean, even if there's thousands of stickers everywhere! Popular place before and after events at the 2 stadiums nearby (Tmobile & Lumen). Large selection of both beers on tap and liquors. Food available is pizza and chips; the pizza is really good. Staff is friendly and efficient. Parking is on-street. Tvs on one side of bldg, sitting area the other.

Perfect spot to drop in and meet friends before a ballgame - whether it be football, soccer, or baseball. Great location, and doesn't reveal on the outside how far back it goes - which has a whole separate bar area to almost equate to two bars. Can get very busy before games, so plan accordingly - espesh if you have a large group. Cold beer, good vibes, and solid spot to get a little shaboinged before kickoff.
I used to be a big fan of Hooverville for pre and post-game drinks, but their bartenders and security have started treating it like a library. No loud noises and no celebrating whatsoever. Would not recommend to anyone trying to have a good time. Don't waste your time, spend your hard-earned money at a real bar.

The bar is a quiant little bar a few blocks from Mariners stadium... they have the best pepperoni pizza, and the bar tender Torry (sorry if i spelt that wrong) was awesome. She has a great sense of humor and is very easy to talk to... next time im in seattle, I'll be back in there for sure

I can't really say enough nice things about how well this staff deals with a packed bar on a Saturday night. There's clearly a lot of communication between staff members and even when there's 20 people all trying to order at the same time, they hold it together really well and service never skips a beat. You're all doing something very right, thanks.
Drinks are overpriced and you need a reservation weeks in advance if you're looking for a table on the weekend, but I can't deny the fact that this is one of the most unique spots in the city. The drinks are delicious, the staff is very professional, and the bar itself is a great time. If you can find it...I would recommend making a trip inside!
So I've walked by here like a million times on the way to Mariners games, never went in until yesterday. What a cool place! They've got two seperated bars. They have pool, darts, pinball, and best yet, skee-ball! I crushed at Skee-Ball so I'd highly recommend. Bartender was very friendly too for how incredibly busy it was.
It's been years since I visited, so I was pleasantly surprised at the growth! It's still one of my favorite bars to go to! Fantastic service, engaged and friendly staff, and an energetic atmosphere all in one! What more could you ask for?

Solid selection on bottles on the wall. Bartenders seem good and friendly. Pool, darts, pinball, retro-themed but not quite retro. The crowd on a Saturday night is exactly what out-of-towners think of Seattle, just shy of Portlandia. Divey and hipster mix but since those things go together, it is a matter of opinion.
Not my favorite place to have a drink. There are better options nearby. The layout of this place isn't a great place to speak with others in your party. We stopped in prior to an event. I wouldn't go near this place after an event or on a weekend. The entrances and layout freaks me out for a future fire catastrophe.
This is my favorite bar before a show at the SODO or a Mariners games. Free peanuts, great crowd, cheap beer, it's all you could ask for! There is food but it's pretty limited, last time it was microwave single pizzas- don't go for the food, go for the beer! There's a bunch of free games to play with too.
This bar is located south of the Lumen field. It is a super cool place to hang out and have a few drinks before heading to the game. The high ceiling, funky decorations, and pinball machines make this place super fun and unique. Such a hidden gem. Check it out if you are in the area.
Peanut shells all over the century old, wonderfully uneven concrete floor. A fun staff that's engaged with their customers and serves a mean drink puts this SoDo dive (and it IS a dive!) on my non-game day shortlist. It's big but I'd bet it's a hell of heat and flesh before a game.
They're always great and even now with the whole pandemic, they've been fantastic with service and giving us a couple hours of feeling "normal" again for a bit. There's covid guidelines and restrictions but they are very fair and I appreciate what they're doing for the community.
Terrible service by bar tender. They only make easy drinks and refused to make me any drink I suggested that had more than one liquor in it. It's already overpriced, why also be a jerk about it.

Do not let the exterior fool you! This spot has 2 bars inside and plenty of seating! There are some cool games like ski ball and pinball in the bar as wll. The cocktail I got was stiff and our party was greeted by friendly staff. I will be stopping in next time I am nearby.
Really fun place! Great staff, and you can throw peanut shells on the floor! They serve standard drinks, it's usually really busy on game night so don't expect super stellar service if the game let's it, and the food is okay. Non-game nights you should go and check it out!
The drinks and atmosphere are phenomenal! The bartenders were all polite, and discussed drinking options thoroughly with my friends and I. They gave recommendations and explained their recommendations, while making us feel comfortable. I'd highly recommend this bar!
This ain't your J. Edgar experience! Even the booth tables have carpet! (don't go in this place without researching/knowing what the original Hooverville was or you'll miss the point of the decorations) (despite the name, I don't think you can sleep here ;)
Cheap beer and 50 cent pool. Good spot. I have to come back in the night time to check for the local trim but it served its purpose today. Well done coming back soon. This is my new spot.

Good place to hangout but I would rather not have the peanuts than having them gone bad. Although occasionally you get good peanut, otherwise the drink taste better after having a bad taste left by the peanuts with shelf life days expired in the past.
This place is just the best. A true gem of an old school Seattle bar that is determined to stay that way. I'm not sure how I have not discovered it before, but there is an adorable backbar, filled with vintage lamps. :-) This is where I live now. <3
Definitely a cool place to drink. I enjoy the gritty industrial vibe it has. The back area offers cool views of the Port of Seattle. They offer free peanuts and have lots of pinball machines, dart boards and pool tables to keep you entertained.
Had a good time at the Hooverville Bar. Even right before a soccer game, the bar had plenty of seating and quick service at the bar. Free peanuts are a plus, and prices are very reasonable. Nice open air vibe in the summer, and friendly staff.
I have two places that I hit before a game and Hooverville is one of them. Just enough of a dive bar to make me feel comfortable and a crowd that is ready to cheer on Seattle. Professional bartenders and reasonable prices keep me coming back.
Fun place to hang, pre-event time. Cold beers, beverages, and decent atmosphere. Very eclectic crowd, but great conversations. No a/c during 100° days, but with a good breeze, it's not bad. Walking distance to T-Mobile & Lumen Field.. …
Hooverville is a great place to sit back and wind down. Friendly bartenders, friendly patrons, and a nice selection of bar games to give you a bit of entertainment. Nice tap selection, and general ambiance. Also, get yourself some peanuts.
Love this craggy old place. Is it a dive bar, maybe, It is a must stop tradition for those who like football and drinking. The pours are nice, the selection is the best. They don't have much food, but I saw pizza being eaten?
I have been going to the Hooverville bar since it opened. Yes before the fire. It is great! Chill, great beer, super nice staff. Come here and hang out, the expansion adds a great space to it. Plenty of room for all.
$7 for a 12oz bottle of Budweiser after tip and that was at 4pm. The prices are absolutely outrageous especially for a dive bar. The new Seattle bar scene is for tech workers with fat wallets. All bow to the nerds.
Went there before the Mariners game for a quick drink...ended up staying almost an hour. The bartender was so friendly, as was the second one that showed up before the crowd arrived. Looking forward to going back.

A wonderful dive. Rotating beer on tap, terrific pours, great staff; darts, pool, peanuts on the floor, and so much to look at. This place is perfect for an after-work drink or a before-Mariners game pick-me-up.
Amazingly fun. Nice selection of beer and super friendly/fun staff . Good happy hour pricing and the merchandise is a decent selection for locals and tourists. Would definitely go back if ever in Waikiki again .
My wife and I stopped in the other night while in the area for an event. We were clearly out of place, but the staff was crazy friendly and made us feel like we belonged there. Awesome place, you'll recommended
I don't drink but I went in here before the gwar show and had some pizza a couple homies got.it was really freakin good.next time I'm in Seattle I might stop in there for a pizza.its a cool looking place also!
Great Seattle dive bar! In the heart of SODO. Near The Showbox and stadiums, makes a great place to stop in before and after the your game or show. Here's to peanut shells on the floor! Cheers! ✌️ …
I told my companion that I wouldn't drive out of my way to get here, but I would certainly be back. (I just don't like driving, especially to bars.) Low-key, great selection and prices, and pinball!

Considering that I was the drunk one of the group, they are very understanding and have awesome bar staff. They handle the rush after the Seahawks game very well would recommend 10 out of 10
Great place to hang out before or after a show at Showbox. Wide variety of local beer and liquor. They have some games, including pool, skeeball, pinball, and a few other classic bar games.
It's a bar and it's been in SODO a long time. They know their stuff! Its a great dive bar feel. Only thing I miss are the peanuts. Highly recommend grabbing a bite and a beer before a game
Awesome piece of sodo. Don't fall for the trendy and ambiguous warehouse bars around, come to one with bars on its windows. Great staff and great atmosphere. Thanks.

Reliable. I've stumbled into this place 2 time on accident and always have a good time. It's a really good local dive bar. Although they have games and serve some decent food.
If you're looking for that perfect Dive Bar in SoDo this is the place. Nothing fancy penis to satisfy every craving and some arcade games. Definitely a fun night with friends.
One of my favorite bars in Seattle. I love coming here before an M's game, or on any other random day. Plenty of beers on tap, and fun pinball machines to burn some quarters.

Peanuts on the floor kinda joint. Great variety of beer. Great wall of liquor. Great service. (Knowledgeable bartenders, want to please). Pinball, darts. Old time history.
Pinball and cold beer make me happy. They have a whole front wall that opens up and it refreshes the air in the bar. Giving it a back deck vibe every single time I go
Sweet hole in the wall with 2 bars. The front bar a true dive with some pinball and skeet ball, the back is a straight up sports bar with darts and pool tables …
Its a little pricy for a dive but being in Seattle so close to the stadiums, it's to be expected. Cool people and a huge pool room in back. Worth the visit for sure
Fun spot to go before and after a game. Make sure your friend, who's birthday it is, doesn't get too drunk and fall down outside. Security won't let them back in.
Love everything about Hooverville! The atmosphere is so fun and the staff are always so friendly. Whenever we are on Seattle, Hooverville is always on our agenda!
It's a bar near the stadiums. Can be a little rough on the edges on game days or events across the street, but that is what makes it worth it. Staff is friendly.
So this bar is south of the stadiums so you know they get a big sports crowd. However, when I came out of the restroom and saw the amazing art, I was like damn!
This is a great place. Great staff and beer selections. Corbin rocks. The pool tables are in great shape, the balls could be replaced though. Great music also.
One of my fave bars down south of downtown. Peanuts and great beer selection. Big fan of the ambiance and area. Very large inside and a cool back entrance.
A wonderful place for Sounders pre-funk and anytime rehydration is needed. Good selection of beers, ciders, and the friendly staff make "healthy" drinks.
This place makes a stiff drink and has some great classic arcade games, but kinda smells like piss and frozen pizza. But maybe that's part of the charm.
Plenty of excellent beer on tap. Great service from bartenders who treat you like a valued customer. Definitely the place to meet the gang after work.
Good selection, fun atmosphere. Great place to grab a quick drink after work. Wish they had more than just mediocre pizza on the food menu.
The place is friendly and clean. The drinks are tasty and reasonably priced. The food is pizza warmed in a toaster oven. Perfect dive bar.
Very clean and accommodating with sports on each tv. The bartender in the back bar was an absolute Rockstar! I'd definitely visit again.
Excellent dive bar atmosphere, pinball, pool table and personal pizzas. They expanded several years back so there is a lot more seating.
Great dive bar. Fun friendly staff Love the newest addition of the back area. Great place to feel at home, meet new folks and have fun.
Came here during Christmas season 2018. The lady who served us was cheerful. Only pizzas were there but even then, we had a good time!
This place is authentic, fun, no frills, just a local bar with nothing to prove. The peanuts are awesome. The Bartender is just real.
Awful service, and one of the workers walked right into a customer and kept going without saying a word. He must be really important.
Best bar for before/after mariners games. Free peanuts, pool, darts, skee-ball, just the right amount of grime. This place rules.
I'll give them credit for being a bar.. beer is always good but bar tender couldn't make a mixed cocktail to save there lives..
When only the best dive bar will do. But seriously- well poured drinks, cool bartenders, good pizza “Have a Manhattan” …

Great atmosphere! Attentive and friendly staff. I like the vibe and feel of the place.
The nicest bartenders anywhere!!! We always tailgate there for Hawks games.
Best bar near the stadiums! Open until 2, 2 pool tables and 2 skee ball.
