Do not park your vehicle here. In just a 12 hour window of parking here, our vehicle was broken into (window smashed). Security claims that they do rounds, but didn’t notice our vehicle (it was the only one in that entire row, so there is no actual patrolling). One of the stolen items from our vehicle was the parking ticket. Management and the gate attendant were the most unreasonable, unprofessional, nasty people - refusing to let us out (despite our vehicle being covered in glass) unless we paid the lost ticket fee of $48. Thankfully we used SpotHero, but the gate attendant would not accept this, despite his manager having already written down our reference number and telling him to let us out. He insisted I physically give him my phone so he can look at the SpotHero information, instead of reading the reference number to him. I told him I’d prefer not hand him my phone for safety reasons. He refused to even look at the information while I was holding my phone until I gave it to him. When I mentioned that “I’m trying to protect myself from COVID”, he replied without wearing a mask “oh, I have COVID now, and I don’t care. Give me your phone”. It seemed like the only way out, so I did - and he proceeds to ask me all the information about my SpotHero reservation clearly displayed on my phone, saying that “I can’t see it”. The worst people, the worst service, and the absolute worst experience. Do yourselves the favor of parking anywhere but here!

After working a busy Saturday shift…last Saturday, I was finally leaving after a 12 hour work day, to head home and rest. The garage was busy due to a ballet at the Balbo Theater. I handed a voucher that I get from work to a women working the far lane leading to 3rd street/G street, only for her to act like she never gave it to me. She tried to grab my card and run it for me which is unsanitary during covid, so I asked to put it in on my own. She let me then said I never handed her a discount ticket and charged me $44 instead of the $8 that I ALWAYS pay with the voucher after work. I was told to dive back through to a manager on the opposite exit who handed me a business card to call him Monday after the weekend. I called Monday and he was off work. Frustrated I forgot for a couple of days and went to follow up today for him to say I never handed her a ticket according to camera footage. I stacked the coupon under my parking ticket handing to her simultaneously, of course the camera wouldn’t see it. This place obviously doesn’t inventory the parking tickets. After refusing a price adjustment I had to call and dispute the discrepancy with my bank. All of this for $36. The avoidant attitude is a lack of customer care and I’m not going to park here again. Save yourself a headache.

We went to a show at the Balboa and made the mistake of parking in this garage. When we tried to leave, the line of cars trying to exit, through only 1 exit gate with 1 totally overwhelmed attendant, was horrific. Didn't move at all, the backup went up multiple levels, total gridlock. Many people WALKED over to the gate attendant and insisted over and over that he do something to get the line moving since it was not safe to leave 100s of cars idling and stuck in the structure for hours. People were about to hold up the other two gates so cars could just drive out. The attendant finally opened the gate so we could start exiting quickly, but this whole thing is dangerous and misleading. If the company is going to have such shoddy equipment and such understaffing, they should warn drivers in advance that you may be literally trapped in their garage for HOURS. We were lucky to get out in less than an hour, and whatever they are paying that poor lot attendant was not nearly enough. I will never use this garage again.

I’m a monthly pass holder. I exit from F st. I forgot my monthly pass today as I was leaving around 4:45pm. The lady at the window was very rude and unhelpful and refused to let me out without my pass. I gave her my DL to look up that I did have a pass and she refused to let me out. She told me if I didn’t go get my pass I would have to pay a $48 lost ticket fee. (Mind you I’m pregnant and just want to leave to pick up my son from school) she did not want to help me out what so ever. This was a easy fix. A simple phone call to verify that I am a monthly pass holder. She made the 5 cars behind me move so that I could go get my pass from my desk. This is the second incident that I’ve experienced here where the customer service is THE WORST... I understand it’s just a parking garage but being nice and helpful isn’t hard. It’s not a demanding job the least that can be done is to have good customer service towards other people.

3 HOURS to exit from the 5th floor parking structure on 4.23.22. AMB owned? What a fiasco - 2 exits (2 lanes each). The G Street exit senior-citizen check-out clerks had NO back up?? WTH. We even encountered a Security Guard trying to get out at 12:15a from the 7th floor - and he was going to be late for his 1am shift somewhere else. How is this remotely okay?? We had our Balboa Theatre ticket & $10 cash - pulled up to the window (after THREE HOURS) and it literally took 4 minutes ... as our transaction got interrupted by the other lane's clerk that had ANOTHER ticket issue. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY AFTER WAITING HOURS to get out. There should be a massive fine to the owners. Where's a cop when you need one? Oh yeah,, they're all downtown dealing with a power outage that shut down a substantial amount of west gaslamp (Chinatown to the east). THE WORST PARKING STRUCTURE ever due tok failed or lack of "management"

Worst parking lot exit experience I have even had in my life and I've been driving for 45 years. It took 95 minutes to get out of the lot. The line barely moved, and when I got to the front I had the exact amount owed in cash ready for the parking attendant along with the ticket in hand(I knew the amount as it was pre-validated at an event with a flat rate). It took him literally 3 minutes for the exchange to occur and the gate to go up for me to exit. BTW the place just doesn't feel real safe if you use the stairs to get to the street. Broken glass and the occasional smell of urine also. If you must be in the area, take an UBER or public transportation, but at all costs avoid the Horton Plaza parking garage.

Wow! I just left this place in shock. I got in for jury duty with early bird rate which is 10$ if you get in before 8 AM. Stopped by Macy’s after the courthouse and thought it wouldn’t hurt to stamp the ticket and validate my parking (after all that’s what malls do right?). When I was leaving they charged me 40$ because apparently Macy’s validation cancels out their special rates. Nowhere it was mentioned when I entered the garage. Their employee on my mentioning that I wasn’t come back told me “Don’t! I hear this too often. We don’t care. We are full anyway.” And repeated for me not to come back when I was leaving. Place is a scam. STAY AWAY.

Went to a show at Balboa Theater and made the mistake of parking in the Horton Plaza Garage. The show let out at 1020p, we had parked on the 7th floor, the line to get out was up to the 6th flr. 90 min later we were still waiting on the 6th flr. We had kids at home with a babysitter that had to leave. We left our car and took an Uber home. We spoke to a manager. There was nothing wrong with the garage systems - other than they are painfully slow and outdated and cannot handle even a modest surge. Far better to find a space 30 or 40 min walk away that you could Uber to if needed, than be trapped in a poorly maintained garage for hours.

I went into this parking garage for a 15 minute stop into Ralph’s across the street. The big letters in the sign said $2 for every 15 minutes. In small type it said come in after 8 and leave by 5am for a flat rate of $20. The sign is extremely misleading. The flat rate is meant to give people a break who will be in the area for a long time. If someone is only parking there for 15 minutes the rate stated in big bold letters should be what is charged. Very misleading. When I asked about it they said too bad. Ridiculous. Soured my visit to this pretty city.

Was summoned for jury duty and almost didn't park here based on reviews. It was only 10 dollars to park a few blocks from the court house. I was able to park on the first floor and exiting was a breeze. I kept my parking receipt on me and left a clean and empty car. No broken windows, no sign of homeless people, and urine odors, but I didn't need to use the stairs. There was construction going on so it created a small challenge walking to and from but it was half the price of parking lots further away. If you're serving Jury Duty dial this place in.

  • Katie Weatherup

Up until last night I've had good experiences here. Sadly, it took almost 3 hours of waiting to exit. My friend and I saw a play at the Lyceum. We walked straight back when it got out at 10pm at it was ten minutes shy of 1am when we got out of the parking garage. The exits were confusing for how to walk out as we weren't able to walk into Horton Plaza. The stairwells stank strongly of urine. The elevators were out of order. It's been an easy and elegant solution to parking in the past but I will never want to trap my car and myself here again.

  • Jeanelle S

F’n scam. We entered the garage there was signage about all day parking flat rate $20. When we exited 8 hours later they charged us $48 because of the Padres game … there was absolutely zero signage about an up charge for a baseball game. None whatsoever. We flagged a manager over and they said $20 only applies for 2 hours after a game. We are San Diego natives and have parked here plenty, this never happened to us before. Again, there was no signage and nothing on the parking stub that says there’s additional charge. F’n scammers.

  • Daniel Ehrlich

Absolutely do not park here. Parked for the Padres game, prepaid $15 online. Took over 45 minutes to exit the parking garage from the 2nd floor. While exiting we were directed to an outside lane by an employee. The lane we were directed to had no attendant only an automated payment booth and we could not scan our QR code, we asked the attendant and they said we had to pay $40 to exit. Why offer prepaid parking and take payment if you are not going to honor it? Never parking here again.

  • M Cleary

AVOID!!!! Absolutely appalling service! Park anywhere but here if you can!!!! 30min minimum just to get out of the lot and the lady in charge decided to close 1 of 2 lanes to exit making it extremely difficult and long times to exit. She could've closed it 10 minutes later to at least get people through. Very foolish and uninformed/trained staff. Really bad parking area. AVOID!!

  • Mark L

Avoid this place. We were downtown for a dinner and a comedy show and saw a sign advertising $20 flat rate parking. When we went to leave, the price was $34. We were told by the attendant that we had to show Padres tickets in order to get that rate. Bait and switch. And besides, the place reeks of urine and the walking exits are pretty dicey. Stay away!

  • Addyson Hawkins

Rental car was broken into and ransacked. Paperwork was thrown everywhere. Personal items were stolen. We recognize that this wasn’t the garage’s fault, but the parking ticket from the entrance booth was lost in the midst, and the garage forced us to pay a penalty on top of the already paid parking voucher acquired through SpotHero. Do not recommend.

  • Tristan Cabalar

Don’t ever park here. They’ll charge you $48. And they have 1 stupid machine open that works. so you’re waiting which is gonna add charges to your ticket. This place is a rip off. Plus the stair wells smell like urine. Just overall you’re better off parking on the street or a cleaner parking structure. Don’t waste your money here.

  • Fogo Fogo

This system where there’s only one attendant for hundreds of cars makes people end up waiting an hour to exit the garage because half the people leaving are trying to pay with cash. People that pay for monthly parking and have key cards should always be able to exit through the G street from exit, but they close it for no reason.

  • Michelle Balacek

Garage smells like pee but what is prompting me to write the review is the lack of exit signage. My husband and I wandered around with another couple all looking for the exit for over 10 minutes. The regular exits were blocked because of construction. How incredibly unsafe. What is there were a fire or earthquake?

  • Zachary Marek

Convenient parking downtown, especially if serving Jury Duty or going to the courthouse (10 minute walk.) A little construction going on outside but it's no biggie. Boat loads (or should I say, car loads) worth of parking spread out over all 7 floors, depending on how many flights you're down to walk up...

I've used this parking lot daily for years. The "Early-bird" special is a great value at $9. Sometimes it is tough to get out of the office before 6:00 (at which point the price jumps for like $42, I made that mistake exactly once), but otherwise it's perfect.

  • Jan Shields

My debit card information was stolen by the exit attendant lady. It wouldn’t work, then she comes over and then it apparently worked. She said it was because I didn’t tap the card. WTH? Then I started getting all sorts of crazy charges! Had to cancel the card.

  • Edgar Guillen

I'll keep it real with you. It smells like pee and I'm 99% sure the lady didn't honor my parking validation on my last visit. I've personally never had an issue bigger than that but I'd take what others have said into account if you're someone with "bad luck".

  • Alex Melendez

This parking garage is only two stars mainly for the fact that I did not feel safe. There are a lot of shady drugy looking homeless people around the entrances and stairwells. It is also hard to navigate and find entrances and exits to your destinations.

  • j alajmi

Parked for restaurant take away. Since time is not stamped on ticket we looked at ipone/apple time to determine charge. They charge every 15 minutes. We calculated 29 minutes. Attendant said we stayed 31 minutes and charged us. He tried to

  • Patricia Steele

Worst experience ever! Don't ever use this company/parking lot. Save yourself the stress and find another location. This place is hard to find, where you are suppose to park, we called the help desk and no one answers the phone, drove in

  • Mr OBrian

I park here for work and hate it! People drive WAY too fast in the garage (sometimes 40+ MPH), there are homeless people everywhere, the garage is dirty and not very well lit, plus it's the most confusing garage you'll probably ever park

  • Kaylee Roche

my friend and I got there at the same time, both got our ticket validated, and left at the same time but they only charged me and not my friend. i don’t know what’s going on but it’s not fair. i feel like it was discrimination. the only

  • Andrea M

Very pricey but worth it if you want your car to be safe! Plenty of parking, both times i was there to checkout , the customer service to check out was very nice. Some wore mask and some didn't but i wore mine so that's all that matters!

  • Wendy Rees

Parked here to go to a Padres game. It was about a 15 minute walk to the West entrance to Petco Park. The only trouble we had was a mentally ill homeless person kicking a sign and yelling unintelligibly, when we were trying to pay. The

  • Chrissy Sheehey

Weird operator man at gate questioned whether we really went to the Padres game. Demanded to see padres gear and “giveaway.” Rude and strange. Tried charging us extra. Still an ok place to park for padres games minus this trickster.

  • Javier Flores

DON'T PARK HERE! BAIT & SWITCH. False advertising. Friday night. Sign says $20 after 8 PM leave by 5 am, $2 per 15 minutes. I came in at 7:33 PM, left at about midnight. So parking should have been $24. I was charged $38!?!?!?

  • Megan Wagner

Such a rip off. They post $20 flat rate with a Padres ticket. We went out to dinner after and they wouldn’t honor it. Charged us $48. Not worth it considering everything reeks of urine and the facility is ill-kempt

  • Dan Binder

July 2023 - much construction in and around the garage. Some exits were closed but no signs directing pedestrians to other exits. A great location but I'd park some place else until the construction is completed.

  • Stephanie (Ventain)

It's a parking garage. What else can I say? It seems to be under heavy construction but parking is ample on business days. It has some neat little corners and areas, some which are intensely silent.

  • Carolina Lanfair

Great early-bird parking prices and parking prices. ABSOLUTELY FILTHY AND WREAKS OF URINE ODORS. Homeless hide in stairwells/hideout shelter for homeless. Be alert. Stay alert.

  • Alvaro Sandoval

Easy access to the gas lamp. Was $20 flat rate but we prepaid through the SpotHero app, not knowing it'd be the same price.

  • Dominic D

Sign says $10 for the entirety of 5 pm to midnight Mondays through Thursdays. They charged $27. Classic scum company

  • Shaun

We parked the vehicle in this lot overnight 12/21/23. The sign in the entrance states $48.00 max for 24 hours.

  • Leah Sutton

After a Padre game Sat for 45 on the 4th level! Ridiculous they can’t/won’t figure a better way to exit !
