We went as day visitors but decided to stay over for the one night (children's request). The reception staff were friendly on arrival. The place is situated about 5 minutes walk from the beach but there is no sea view from the park. However, you can hear the ocean from it though. There seems to be two areas in this complex - the campsite and the permanent living area. The camping area is relatively well maintained as most stands have grass and there is a power supply you can connect to. The ablution facilities are clean and toilet paper was always available in cubicles. The showers are a bit worn and can do with a bit of tlc. There are baths available but not many seemed operational as doors were permanently locked. There is a scullery and laundry area as well adjacent to ablution facilities. It seems that this camp site has many permanent tenants who have bought there. They live in permanent structures (houses), nutec structures which can be moved if necessary and some live in caravans. These areas are not well maintained as there's plenty of "junk" and "stuff" lying around which detracts from the beauty which could so easily be enhanced. Taking into account that it was school holidays, it was not that busy. The rates here are reasonable for what you get. Day campers are NOT allowed but if you are overnighting you are allowed 6 visitors per stand. Noise is not allowed as we discovered. It was overall a pleasant experience after a year long stay at home due to Covid.

Imhoff Farm is a must visit, great selection of little boutique shops and fresh bakes. Farmyard is a great place for the kids to explore Earthly store next to Kommetjjie Primary School is an amazing little shop with organic fresh produce, meat and cheese etc
Noteworthy details
The park itself has a handful of plots available for short term caravan and tent campers. Such a pity that 80% of the park is filled with nutec houses and permanent tenants. No pool available but short distance to the beach

The place is clean and pretty, well looked after, amazing bathroom facilities! Some sites are very spacious too. HOWEVER, the photos on website was deceiving, and they told us on the phone it's "one road to walk over then you are on the beach..." That's not true! This is not the camp site to want to come do fishing. And with the beach being so far, there should of been a small pool here for the kids atleast. Especially for the price. All in all.. Nice camping spot to braai and chill, but kids get bored fast and adults wanted to fish..

It is a very peaceful caravan park and camping terrain. There are green lawns, trees, well maintained ablution blocks, facilities to wash dishes and laundry. There aren’t washing machines, but there is a laundromat at the local Kommetjie Shell garage. There isn’t a pool at the park. The entrance to the beach is about 50meters from the park entrance. The ocean water can be a bit too cold to swim at times. The beaches are beautiful, unspoiled and have spectacular views. The Kommetjie community is very friendly and this sleepy village is a great place to relax and slow down your pace. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs, tourist attractions, natural wonders and neighbouring small towns to explore.

Clean well maintained Caravan park. Nice green grass and lots of shade. There are a few permanent campers, and houses inside the park as well. It felt safe and secluded, sheltered from the wind. This means that there are no views to enjoy though. It is a short walk from the beach. Unfortunately there was no hot water when I visited. We were doing a road trip around the country and after a whole day in the car you look forward to a nice hot shower.

If you love the sound and the smell of the ocean and your only expectation is a peaceful, tranquil and soul defining one then you will absolutely fall in love with this particular place! Well run and maintained with amazing birdlife and a homely vibe to boot and the famous Longbeach practically on your doorstep with the Kakapo wreck a leisurely half hour stroll towards Noordhoek. If you're into life then this is where you need to be! Enough said.

Wow! Pleasant surprise. The entire park is neat and clean, staff friendly. The ablution blocks are always neat and clean. Will mist definitely camp there again. The beach is a different story though. Not part of the park and therefore nothing they can do about it. The bamboo is all over and the smell is awful most of the time. Ablution next to the beach also clean with very friendly keepers.

Love this place, use to come here annually before I started traveling internationally. And i still come here whenever I get a gap in between. Clean ablution facilities. Close to many of Cape Towns best beaches ⛱ including the one about 500 meters outside the park. Pricing is very competitive and this park has everything a caravan/camping site needs to have. Including a games room.

We where here at Imhoff Caravan Park for 5 days in December. The staff are polite. The abolutions are kept so clean & there are enough shower facilities & the females even have approximately 5 baths as well so that's very nice. It's a 7 minute walk to a wide stretching beach. Over all a great place to camp. There is a mall nearby with a Pick n Pay, Checkers, liquor store, etc...

Such a beautiful spot. My one night was unfortunately shared with load music at night and load voices (which sounded like a ceremony) early morning. Such a pity because the noise interrupted the beautiful sounds of the ocean. Hopefully visitors can be informed about keeping quiet in the park.

The establishment is very relaxing and quiet . Obviohsly there is no entertainment for the kids. We stayed in a 2 bedroom house which we very much enjoyed. They had all the amenities that you will need and an amazing view of the ocean. I will certainly go back.

Nice campground close to Cape Town, the whole place is a bit dated but we’ll taken care of. It isn’t very quiet as the camping spots are right off the road but it’s very close to the beach.

After a slight hiccup of no power at our site, we moved to an even nicer location and went for a walk on the beach a block away. The sunset was wonderful and the staff member at reception was helpful and courteous. You can't ask for much more in a no reservation accommodation.

I love camping and give my best opinion on a camp site . Friendly management. Clean ablution But old and run down. The site has a lot of permanent residents. The road inside camp is terrible the grass is dead . The feel is old run down .

  • Shawn Isakow

Campgrounds are fair. The place is more equiped for long-term stay than an overnighter or short holiday. It seems that about a quarter to a third of the campwere long term residents. The Bathrooms, though adequate need a serious revamp.

  • henriette marais

Very well protected against South easterly wind, 5min walk to beach, good security, spacious stands, ablutions old but spotless, long term campers, but seldom hear or see anyone, very peaceful, weekends get busy but lively atmosphere

  • Jacques Janse van Rensburg

Nice and quite out of season and typically do not require to book a site and able to choose your own stand. Clean facilities but like most camping sites, everything gets wet in the showers. Great for a quick weekend getaway.

  • Architekten Kreis

Quiet well kept place, ablutions spacious and clean no hot water though if you don't mind a cold shower. Camping spaces sizes vary, most are treed and lawned. Bonus lots of birds when we were there. Definitely recommend

  • Bianca Pohl

Perfect little camping space. Not very quiet as the road next to camp gets busy. Walking distance from beach

This Campsite is a mere 5 minutes walk from the beach! Large plots for your tent or caravan sub-divided by trees/bush. Ablusions are adequate. No luxuries here but good old fashioned camping, braaing, beach etc.

  • Nizaam Peck

We used the campsite for the weekend and is perfect getaway from the city but only 40km from the suburbs. It is a short walk away from the beach and the kids had fun with the cute rabbits on the campsite.

  • Donny Nicholson

Sufficient shade, 5mins walk to a beautiful beach, clean ablutions, quiet camp, 10mins easy drive to sun Valley shopping mall. You may be woken up by the guinea fowl but otherwise would come here again.

Great location a few meters from the beach. Very friendly staff, and clean ablutions and great consideration evident to safe water. Large well protected campsites. will definitely be back!~

  • Aqua Den Barbar (Aqua Alex)

Very mellow campsite. Not over booked. Not overly noisy. Close to beautiful Kommetjie. And ideal for trips around Cape Point and Simon's Town. Most stands have grass and power points.

  • Michelle Fourie

We had the best time. The beach is within walking distance. Amenities are clean and well maintained. Sites have ample shade and braai stands are cleaned daily. We will be back.

Well established park. Very friendly and nice management. Nice sites. Ablutions are very dated and really need upgrading. However they are cleaned daily.

  • Haviland Millard

Close beach access to a stunning coastline. Traditional Cape feel among white-washed houses rocking a nostalgic feel. Clean amenities.

  • Lew “Rocker” Bate

Well run and maintained, a stone's throw away from the beach, amazing birdlife and for the most part quiet and tranquil. I love it!

It was awesome nice and quiet. a pool would make a difference in the place for the kids as there is not much activities for them

  • Charmain Brandes

Very nice and clean and quiet but the "game room" for kids is non excisting. My daugter was very dissapointed when we got there.

  • Rinse Vlaswinkel

Ablution blocks are dated but clean. Campsites are okay, but there is no grid provided for the braai.
