I was really excited to visit this gallery, we made a trip to the area just to go there. We were in town and we visit the Wicker Park area to shop and dine. I went there in 2018 and the woman was very nice, attentive, and answered all of my questions. That treatment alone made me want to come back. She gave us exceptional customer service. This time no one spoke to us or acknowledged my husband and I, I was very disappointed. They moved around us as if we were invisible. The lady was having a full on conversation and didn't even stop to greet us. The lady she was talking to even said "I'll let you go so you can..." and she still didn't bother to greet us. I think they thought we weren't going to buy anything. They only acknowledged us when we were leaving out the door and by then I was like don't say anything now. Funny thing is, we could have bought some art. We planned on it. We know the year has been tough for artists and I wanted to contribute to the community. As an artist myself, I'd be weary of a gallery that carried my pieces but didn't acknowledge potential customers. I saw several things I wanted to buy but I didn't even bother because what would be the point if I couldn't even get a hello? I'm all about supporting other artists so I'll look them up for myself. Again, I loved my 1st initial visit to this gallery, this time made me not want to return again. Whoever was working on Saturday the 8th, be more mindful of your customers, it costs nothing to say hello, may I help you? This visit loss commission for your artists and yourself. I gave it 2 stars simply for the first visit being exceptional. I'm hoping you all do better.
I used this place on recommendation from a friend and post noticing their Groupon deal. I approached them directly and my order was primarily handled by Kaitlyn. Being my first painting I needed stretched and mounted, I was edging on the side of being conservative with my expenditure. I felt a little judged for being cost savvy and I felt like Kaitlyn could have definitely been more patient. They applied the discount but upped some other charges (labor, etc) and had my total be more than I was promised. When asked to come collect my order that was ready, I arrived for pick up and was again, treated not very courteously and was asked to wait for 15 mins as they had an event. End of the day - they got the job done, hence the 4 stars. I enjoy my painting, but I’m not sure I’d go back.
I've gotten a couple of lovely prints from the artists hosted here. However, this review is really for their framing services, which we've used a few times now. The staff are very helpful in selecting appropriate frames and matting based on what you say your preferences are, and are helpful with their own opinions of what would work well based on what is being framed, be it color or texture of frame, how it should be mounted, etc. Of particular note, I once had them frame a delicate piece with wrinkles and wear that I wanted to show after being framed. They did a spectacular job of it, preserving the wrinkles without damaging the very thin material. The rates are very competitive from what I've seen, and we'll continue to come here for framing our special pieces.
Art on the wall (about 100 pieces in their new show) had no information regarding the artists. I asked if they had a list of artists. The employee proceeded to tell me about the show and how many artists they have. No information on the artists. I wanted to know who the artists are, so I can learn about them and familiarize myself with more of their work. After asking for the 3rd time, I found out that they don't even have the list of the artists. They were "in the process" of making it. I was told to come back for the opening. This is the first time that I visited a gallery with no information on the artists. What a disservice to people making art. The art was lovely. Would have loved to know who it was made by.
I visited Chicago back in March and was walking around the neighborhood and exploring until I stumbled upon this amazing art gallery. As soon I walked in I felt very welcomed into the space & most of all the art was gorgeous to look at. After exploring the gallery a little bit, Ellie one of the galleries' staff members was amazing in super helpful of showing me around, and helping me find what I was looking for. Ellie was really helpful throughout my experience in being in the gallery. If you love art, and are in the area I definitely recommend checking this place out!
I own multiple prints from Laura Lee Junge. I've framed some of the prints myself, framed some of it in-house with Jackson Junge, and framed art I've bought elsewhere there. I've also purchased prints and other items (such as cards, puzzles, and a history of wicker park written by a local) as gifts. The staff is incredibly kind and collaborative -- they've helped me choose mattes, choose frames, and choose a birthday gift for my grandpa (one that included additional elements from other local stores). I trust their design sense and I enjoy working with them.
If Are Looking For An Art Gallery In Chicago And You Came Across This Review Look No Further I Am More Than Certain You Will Find A Piece In This Establishment That Will Tickle You Fancy Search The Stands Like An Old School Hip Hop Artist Or Admire The Walls But Just Know This Would Be My First Stop As An Art Collector Second But First In Tailored Art Stands "The Black Couch" Located At 4200 W Diversey Ran By A Fellow Artist Of Mine MARK NARENS Whose Work I Not Only Back To The Fullest Of My Name But I Have Complete Confidence In
I feel welcome every time I step into Jackson Junge. Ellie, Kaitlyn, Chris, and the rest of the team are super passionate and knowledgeable about their artists and can answer any questions you might have. They also make great framing recommendations based on your aesthetic and budget. I would recommend stopping here any time you're in Wicker Park to check out the latest exhibition, gallery event, and their jewelry and pottery selections.
We used this as the venue for our wedding and it was absolutely amazing!! The gallery was beyond perfect, we were able to customize every important part of our wedding even riding our motorcycles into the venue as our big entrance!!! We comfortably fit 90 people for dinner and then we had additional people come to the reception so a total of about 120 attended and everything turned out great :)
Not only is there a diverse selection of artists to enjoy but also a fantastic framing shop in back. You get assistance from very knowledgeable individuals who will take the very best care of your artwork or photograph. If you don't know what you want, they can help you. If you know exactly what you want, they can help, too. Strongly recommended!
Frame things here! We've met with one of the owners several times (Chris), and he and the staff are lovely. The artists they feature are great, and I have never gotten such fantastic pricing for framing. My husband and I collect concert posters, and they've done an amazing job with numerous pieces that we've brought in. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
This gallery has a great selection of art pieces! The location is beautiful and everyone was super helpful. I attended a gala at this location which was great! The layout allows for you to look through all the prints at your own pace! Overall I recommend checking out the gallery and purchasing a couple pieces!
Have had several prints as well as original paintings framed here, it's a great framing shop as well as art gallery. The quality of the glass and frames here is top notch, just keep in mind that good quality framing isn't exactly cheap, but worth it in my opinion if you want a piece to last a lifetime.
I love art but am not in love with art galleries as they have a tendency to be pretentious, something I just can't handle. This was great, walked in from the street, gallery was full, nobody bothered me, but most importantly I actually really really liked works from several artists. Great selection!
It was great. My first time in the gallery. Always wanted to go in. They very nice art work. Couple of pieces on the wall we're beautiful. They were out of my price range. But it was good. Staff was very friendly. Maia was good to answer questions, I had. You can go to look and maybe buy something.
Beautiful Gallery!!! My friend and I decided to visit Wicker Park and we ran into this gallery. I liked how staff wasnt pushy or sales like but instead friendly knowledgeable and very professional. I helped pick out a ring for my friend it was absolutely georgious. Great place. Will be back again..
I had a print that needed framed. Chris was incredibly patient as he walked me through the options. Two weeks later, I was impressed with the beautiful craftsmanship. Couldn't have been happier! The art they showcase is wonderful too! They're also super friendly. A great gallery, all around!
Friendly staff, interesting range of paintings, sculpture, jewelry and gifts with a nice range of price points. We come here for framing services and they do a wonderful job, offer creative design ideas, and always surpass our expectations.
This gallery has paintings, photographs and sculptures that are unique and amazing. They offer gift certificates too, if you happen to be shopping for that special person. Also fabulous jewelry from various artists.
Owner and staff are amazingly nice, helpful, down to earth and super fun to talk to. Wonderful arts collection! Anywhere from contemporary to traditional to steam punk art. Worth checking out if you are in the area!
Awesome venue! Would highly recommend for any event space purposes. Kaitlyn went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Large space, intriguing art, and versatile use of space. Highly recommend to all!
A very nice art gallery and private party room...but the available parking sucks!!! Make a parking agreement with the Walgreens across the street from the establishment would solve the problem and boost business.
A remarkable gallery! They show a wonderful spectrum of diverse artists. Good people! I love the group shows! I have shown there several times. Highly recommended! Both for artist and patrons.
Gallery has had some great artists. Some of the work has been the same for ages, but all and all a great place to check out. Window displays are always interesting.
Many treasures at the Jackson Junge Gallery. This is a choice spot for fine art, gifts, and exquisite custom framing - right in the heart of Wicker Park.
Love this gallery, for buying art from local artists, and for framing. Laura Junge is one of my favorite local artists, and they feature others as well.
Amazing art in a great space run by the nicest guys you could ever meet. Laura’s work is world class along with many other exciting artists
My favorite gallery in all of Chicago! The staff is so helpful and kind, and their art selection is unique and of the highest quality!
The art is pretty interesting and they have small prints of much of the art on display. The prints are much, much cheaper.
The staff at the gallery is awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Great pieces, great framing work.
We stopped in at least 3 times during our stay. Beautifully curated, wonderful staff. We will be stopping back
Classy spot in Bucktown to browse and purchase both local and national artwork , highly reccomend you stop in
Fun little gallery. Nice selection of art. Attended a private event that was well run by the gallery staff.
Not always the most welcoming to people. Hit or miss depending on who's working. Sometimes are just rude.
Great Art space with lots of paintings of a variety of styles. I also like their jewelry section!
