Had high expectations for this place given the high quality pictures on the website. However this once again proves the old addage that you can't judge a book by its cover. For Jax Bread this meant all bread and no butter. I ordered the Ciabatta Chicken Avocado Sandwich with Bacon and Arugula. Sounds nice, no? Except that the bacon was grade-d quality, not even as good as what we'd source at Costco and no smoking or added touch. The chicken was chopped (who ever had a chopped-chicken sandwich) and had a realy hard time staying in the slopp-wet focaccia. The chicken had the quality of yesterday's rottisserie pulled and chopped this AM. The onions were a nice touch and no complaints about the avocado. However, the side chips was bottom-barrel lays quality and it was all delivered in awful never-degrade styrofoam packaging. All in all it was a race for the bottom in ingredients, and with a call a day ahead for delivery policy, i will go back to Panera after giving Jax-Bread its chance.

Came here for brunch. It was in the same plaza where my partner and I have purchased tattoos so he knew where it was when I told him the area. They have some outdoor seating as well as some indoor seating, a bar like seating area, and a restroom too. The gentlemen up front was very nice. We looked to see what else they had to offer for food and it was a lot of bread products and pastries and sandwiches. Besides what came with my elite package, I got an English scone with fruit compote and clotted cream. My daughter got the kids grilled cheese sandwich. My partner got the BBQ sandwich and the Bacon Ranch Avocado Chicken sandwich on African Sweet Bread. I had a bite of that and it was really good. Both sandwiches also came with Doritos as a side. He also got a sprite with his food. I heard you can make orders there too as there were a few people picking up while we were waiting for our order to go. Definitely nice. I'd come back for sure

I’d love to give 5 stars for this wonderful small business because their offerings are delicious. I visited them twice and while their service is polite, it is slowwww! Order ahead online if you’re in a hurry. My first time, all I wanted was a loaf of sourdough and a bread pudding that was already prepared. It took 15 mins to get it. Not sure if that’s because I asked for the pudding to be heated up. My second time, I ordered the market sandwich and a pastry and that took 20 mins. Neither needed to be heated. It looks like they need help in the kitchen and I hope they get it soon. I will be going back to try more of their bread. It is truly worth the wait. I don’t mind the higher price of their sandwiches because I would support a small business for the quality of their products. But I’m hoping the 5% Covid surcharge that the business is charging is temporary because their slow service does not justify it.

My associate and I were severely disrespected, by an employee, at this location after purchasing a cup of coffee and sitting down outside. We were rudely interrupted and berated by this employee twice within 10 minutes during this visit. This is not the first time I have received this type of treatment from this employee but is certainly the last as we will no longer be returning. If I had the ability to post zero stars, I certainly would have! On top of that, leaving such a dishonest reply to cover up employee behavior is not only unprofessional but abhorrent. Please note that I’ve made a purchase, with tip, every single time I have visited this location (and never stayed longer than 40 min). A paying customer is a paying customer. If you enjoy being treated like an animal this is the place for you!

Stopped here for breakfast on the weekend right at opening. I ordered a simple sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. The croissant was +$2. The sandwich was $15. As an artisan bakery, I expected there to be a spin on sourced ingredients and style to justify the cost. So I was surprised by how underwhelming the taste of the sandwich was. I'm from NYC/Jersey and have experienced many bakeries selling "gourmet" spins on popular breakfast food. Jax bread missed the mark (even amongst Jacksonville). The croissant was okay, but not enough to justify the +$2. The sausage tasted like a plant-based alternative meat like beyond burger. Unsure if it was, but it wasn't good. The eggs were nice, but all together not worth $15 or a revisit.

So unfortunately I wasn't feeling the greatest after my extended weekend trip to Jacksonville for the Tough Mudder. When I got the bakery the food was prepared fresh fresh. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich on African Sweet Bread... I had one [big] bite and knew I wasn't gonna be able to finish the whole thing and drive lol. I got it to go and had it for lunch today...I'm regretting not living closer to Jacksonville...This was amazing, my wife and loved the vibes and we're so glad we listened to the referral to come here. I'd choose this over Maple Street Biscuit overly crowded shop any day(And we do love us some MSB). Thanx for the experience, and be blessed!

Wow. Easily one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was flavorful and filling. The everything bagel was seasoned well and the perfect texture. And don’t get me started on the vanilla cold brew! It’s creamy and delicious without being overly sweet. I will be returning for more and definitely recommend it! The cherry on top? Well, they had excellent Covid practices. Everyone was socially distant and wearing a mask. The employee who helped us was very friendly and offered to bring everything out to our car so we didn’t have to wait inside.

A great bakery with a variety of choices in pastries and breads. Many of the choices can be enjoyed at the store as a breakfast or lunch. Scones are more traditional English style. But, there is a wide choice. I chose the Cinn-ful coffee and orange cranberry. Both were excellent. Breads are available and can be sliced on site. Focaccia, regular loaves and baguettes. Plus a variety of bagels. A warning though: if you want one of the baguettes you have to get there early because they sell out fast. Go in, you'll be happy you did.

Omg ever since I found out about this place. It's been my go to for some yummy pastries and breads. Not to mention that they have some fabulous recipes for sandwiches. When in the baymeadows area try this place. You won't be disappointed. The brie melt with bacon and arugula and fruit compote. Fantastic to say the least. The 3 cheese melt with jerk chicken, forget about it!!! Its fantablous..... the cinnamon brioche rolls and fruit danishes , to absolutely die for..... I highly recommend.....

Ate here for the first time today. The quality of the ingredients was amazing, and the portion was large. I had the “green, eggs and sam” on an everything bagel. Great combo of flavors and it kept me satisfied all day. Additionally, the staff was very nice and efficient. I ordered online and it was waiting for me upon arrival. No fuss. I would like to come and try more things when I get the chance. Looking forward to supporting this local business more in the future.

I love this place! The food, the pastries, and the service are all top tier. My family goes here at least once every weekend to grab breakfast and lunch. Once my order had a mistake and when I called up to let them know the owner called me back and offered to remake it for me. As I had ordered it at the end of the day she had it ready for me at the same time the next day so I could have lunch. They are fantastic and I can't recommend them enough.

The price point seemed egregious until I tasted it. This was easily one of the best bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. It had the perfect amount of properly cooked bacon, the eggs were fluffy, the cheese was cheesing, and the African sweet bread was amazing. I also tried the cinnamon roll, which was initially why I came, and it didn't disappoint either. Overall, I give this food a 10 out of 10, would recommend .

Best bagel ever! We were just in the vicinity when we saw this cute little bagel shop and decided to give it a try. Man we’re we in for a treat! We got a bagel with mixed berries and cream cheese and the flavor was explosive, with the perfect combination of sweet and salty. The price of the bagel was definitely higher than what an average bagel should be worth but it’s totally worth it. Definitely will be going back for another one!

Horrible bakery over charged for cold hard as a brick food instead of giving me something fresh she gave me food that has been sitting all day on the display rack and gave herself a extra $5.00 tip on my card. I ordered a nasty cold hard as a brick scone. A nasty hard as a brick desert with pecans maybe it was called a bare claw and a sandwich. The sandwich was ok. I will be telling my friends and family how bad the food is.

Searched for a local bagel shop while passing through town and google led me here! Adorable bakery run by a kind family. The owner came out multiple times to see how our food was and to chat. I had an everything bagel with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon. Super tasty!! I like bacon a little crispier but all together a great sandwich. My husband had a walnut chocolate chip cookie and wow was it fresh and delicious!

This place is great. The food was amazing and the staff were very nice. It's a cozy little place but they do have limited seating. I'm not exaggerating when I say the food was incredible, and although it was a little on my pricey side $34 for 2, it was reasonable for the quality and quantity we received... 2 drinks, 2 snadwhiches and chips, and 2 bakery items for dessert. I would recommend going to check them out.

I was not impressed, maybe I got the wrong thing. I did not care for it. I ended up throwing my food away. I got the apple Danish and chocolate cake. Since it was my first time, I order my two favorite things. How can one go wrong. The food tasted old. No I did not report, the cashier did not seem too enthusiastic able being there. Beside I was afraid that they would replace with another food item.

This place has WAY more quality "French bakery" goodies than any other place in Jax. The croissants have a delicious crust and don't lay flat. Their baguettes have that signature dusted base only handmade goodness will and their African sweet bread makes delicious French toast! The young lady at the counter was kind & knowledgeable too. Will definitely stop again on our next trip through Jax.

I can’t recommend this place enough!! I come at LEAST 3 times out of the week. My regular favorites include: the sausage egg & cheese croissant, chicken bacon avocado sandwich, triple chocolate cookie, banana bread slice, lemon poppy slice & I purchase the multi-grain loaf for my family to enjoy on a weekly basis. I look forward to straying from my favorites & trying something new soon.

Pretty bad when someone brings U treats from here & they r so hard. Found out later by my daughter that they were much much better if U put them in the microwave for a few seconds to soften up. Sorry, I would expect to do that with day old, reduced bakery goods, but not these. At these prices they should have been fresh, bought & delivered yesterday

First time here andawanted just a snack. The young lady at the counter was very helpful and polite. My son and I got two pastries, blueberry/cheese and mixed berry/cheese. Both were fabulous; flaky pastry with the filing not being overly sweet so you could taste the fruit and the cheese equally. We plan to return again to try one of their sandwiches.

It is so rare to find a place with such a blend of creativity while retaining a truly mastered grasp on balancing flavors. A jacksonville hidden gem that truly deserves to be more in the spot light. Highly suggest the Bacon egg and cheese on croissant. And Buying any of the pastries they make would most likely be the best decision you make all day.

I have not been disappointed a single time I have gone here and their coffee is great too. The chef (maybe owner?) is an incredibly nice guy and makes the experience even better. I ordered the Jerk Chicken Sandwich, and my friend ordered the Roasted Chicken Sandwich. We were both blown away with how delicious everything was. The bread is so fresh and baked to perfection. We also ordered banana bread which I have officially crowned as the best banana bread in the world. Probably better than your grandma's. 10/10.

Will have to say, my first time visiting Jax Bread and I only picked up a loaf of sourdough and a Cinnabon bun, but OMG the sourdough is amazing... chewy and perfect. The Cinnabon is for my husband, so I'll have to wait to get his opinion, but by the looks of it, It's going to be good. Will definitely be back to try their sandwiches...

Finally got a chance to try this place out and wow it was delicious. My wife and I each got a different breakfast special and a pastry. The food here is fresh and delicious and the portions are just right. If we were staying longer I would have gotten a few loaves of bread. Don't miss out on try the food here if you are in the area.

Nice indoor and outdoor seating available. First time visit today; had a bacon avocado and jalapeno cheddar cream cheese tartine. The flavors were surprisingly well balanced considering the touch of spice from the jalapeno cheddar. Absolutely want to return again in the future for another breakfast! Very impressed during my visit.

This place is amazing, from the atmosphere to the delicious food. I was greeted by a very nice young lady. I felt very welcomed there. The bagel sandwich I got is delicious. I chose to create my own with poached egg, turkey, avocado and spinach on an every thing bagel. It was superb. I definitely recommend this place.

Living in St Augustine, we were in Jacksonville today. The bakery has been on my radar for some time now and we finally stopped by. We bought a loaf of sourdough, a couple of bagels and Blackberry Bread Pudding. I warmed it up for one minute in the microwave tonight. It was exquisite. Keep up the true baking!

Absolutely delicious!! We got the Green Eggs and Sam as well as the Veggie Panini and couldn’t be more happy. All flavors just melt in your mouth with each bite, topped with the perfectly crisp bread! Service was great and fast, highly recommend!

This was an awkward in store experience. We were wearing masks. We wanted to order loaves of bread and to see what else they had to offer. We were encouraged to complete our order quickly and wait in our car for curbside delivery. I can't review the product yet because we haven't tried it yet.

Yummmm!!! This place is amazing. I ordered their bacon avocado chicken sandwich and it was delicious! All fresh ingredients. The ciabatta bread was incredible. We also loved their baguette, cookies, and chocolate croissant. We will definitely be returning and telling friends about this bakery!

Amazing food! Couldn’t believe how good not only their bread was (tried Asiago and Sourdough) but their chicken, cream cheese and healthy portions of avocado were unheard of. Great price, only downside was their coffee. Too hot and burnt to enjoy. But other than that, definitely worth trying!

I went later in the afternoon and got banana bread, a mixed berry cheese pastry, and a chocolate croissant. The berry pastry is quite good but I was disappointed by the banana bread, kinda dry and not super flavorful. Haven’t tried the chocolate croissant but I have high hopes for it.

I took my family year for breakfast. Everyone left happy. I got a jalapeño cheddar bagel with jalapeño cheddar cream cheese. It was so good. My 8 year old got the avocado toast on the African sweetbread and he let me have a bite! Anyway I highly recommend Jax Bread Co. Its yum.

I ordered the B.A.T lunch, which was served on the focaccia bread. It was incredible. Also got some of the sweet pastries to go, which were also amazing. The apple cinnamon danish was probably my favorite. Service was also great. Definitely recommend this breakfast/lunch spot.

Stopped by on a whim. Decided to get a chocolate croissant and their chocolate chip and peanut butter cup cookies. All great flavors and all fresh! I would love to go back and try out their sandwiches, they have a great selection and the employees were friendly.

The red velvet cookie is like nothing else. If the cheese danish doesn’t give you goosebumps, make your toes curl or get you all Misty-eyed with the joy of an Italian opera, check your pulse - you might be dead. It’s like angels peeing on my tongue.

Hands down to best breakfast I have had in a long time. Everything is freshly done on site and at the time you order with out of this world customer service. It is a small business with great personal touches.
